I don't have much experience b/c I was just banded 2 weeks ago, but please: Go back and get the fill! Don't worry about being embarrassed...you only have to worry about what you think, after all this is your weight and your body.
I have a lot of friends who have had gastric bypass and they have lot's of problems. There are nutritional issues. They have hair loss, bone density issues, and often gain the weight back. It is a painful surgery. YOU already have a built in power tool to help you lose but you have not turned it on yet.
How about if you try the preop diet that you went on again. This will kick start your diet and make the fill seem easy. Then go tell your doc that you never came for a fill and you want to really take advantage of the band. If you don't lose that 30 again right away then increase your exercise. I know you can do it. The hard part is already behind you. I'm praying for you. Good luck

I read your blog tonight. Need to be asleep but i am so inspired by you. Congrats on your weight loss so far and keep up the good work! I am so inspired! I finally reached 40lbs lost and I'm so happy and motivated! Had my 3rd fill friday and finally have restriction! My doc is a lil different when it comes to eating after fill you only have to be on liquids after you get the fill and can start eating the next day. I think I'm going to try what you do because I tried to eat solids and that just isn't gonna happen right now! Painful! Hoping this fill and exercising will help my progress and keep up the good work! You are truly an inspiration!

In your blog you said you was working on maintance and you were not going to weigh yourself that much since the scale wasn't moving. I was just checking in to see if you weighed again since it has been almost a week? Well I finally weighed again and I gained 4 lbs instead of 3, but I am ok with that. Girl it is getting closer and closer till you go and see your family. They are not going to know who you are at first. I change my looks so much with my hair styles that people at work say I look completely like a different person. Image you with your weight lost. Have you gotten the cravings out your system yet? If so what did you do so I can do the same?

Hey Tig, Lighterload here,
Sorry for not being in contact. Life went upside down- had to have my band replaced due to a leaking port, just got out of the hosp. yesterday, have lost about 60 lbs so far.
Lost my job this past Monday- forced into FMLA and disability- have a progressive lower limb Neurologic deficit causing me to be in a power chair and the job won't allow it. They literally gave me the boot and were so condesending about it............... I cried for 3 days.
How are you and how are you doing? Weight loss?
Miss chatting with you, Lighterload

we all are . here is something to start . find the things you love about your self like you eyes and hair . start small and everyday find something new . and as far as a scale goes . you don't have to have one let your cloths tell you were you are there is no real reason to have one i think it can be kind of a bad thing . just like you said just one more thing to judge yourself harder . so as i see it why the pressure ?

It's going well now. It reminds me of that cliche motto for rehab, "It works if you work it." (Haven't been through rehab, but a friend has and we spent a good while mocking the obvious statement.) I lost about 30 lbs before I started eating fast food again. The portions were smaller, of course, but it's still high-fat food, so the weight loss was less and less. I got banded 12/30/08 and finally hit my -50lbs mark this week. But I'm pretty excited, because I lost 5 lbs (total, not each) these past 2 weeks just from not eating fast food junk anymore! LOL! I've also buckled down and gotten serious about working out. I can handle two days in a row, but have to take a break the third day and then start over again, lol. I did three days this week, but am gonna work up to five days for a while.
How bout you?

Thanks for getting back with me. I has been awhile since I've been on the site. Your recommendations look great and I hope to try and follow them. I live in Weidman Michigan. I'm located in the middle of michigan by Mt. Pleasant. Were are you from? Weight loss is still slow. I just need to recommit and follow your rules. I do eat carbs. I think I'm a carb junkie. I need to find a way to eliminate them without going crazy. Nice chatting with ya. Have a great 4th of July.

I'm lucky I got a picture of myself for the avatar! No idea how to use the weight ticker thing. If you figure it out, let me know. I have not microwaved the egg beaters. I'll have to try it. I havent lost any weight this week, granted I havent gained any either. I'm a tad disappointed but at least I'm not gaining. And I'm doing the regimen the nutritionist gave me. So I trust them. I'm just so impatient about the weight loss. Have a great weekend!! IT's finally not going to rain in Boston this weekend, so I plan on enjoying the sun! Jen

Keep up the good work. Typically lower carb, higher protein eating plans yeild the most weight loss. I know your feet hurt so get on a bike and ride, ride, ride and oh, don't forget the swimming pools. At the rate you're going you should have 20 lbs off by you July 2rd appt. Hang in there and remember "no pain, no gain".

Hi Dionne!
27.5 lbs.!!! That is awesome!
I got my third fill about a week ago and I am definitely restricted now too! I lost 4 lbs. in the first week following the fill! I think this will get things rolling again for me, as my weight loss had all but stopped too! I have lost 28 lbs. to date! We seem to be neck in neck with our progress!! It's been interesting adjusting to the new restriciton, but I am doing pretty good. I have a much harder time eating breads, muffins and buns now. I mostly avoid them. I have to stick wtih protein shakes for breakfast, because it is just too tight in the mornings for foods. But by lunch time, I can eat regular food. Thank goodness, because I am not real big on those shakes! I just found out a few days ago that I am going to my a bridesmaid in my cousin's wedding in April! So, now I have even more incentive to lose this weight! Take care and let me know how you are doing with your new fill as well!

LUCKY! I'm so jealous! I love swimming and don't know anyone with a pool. Hope you have a blast! Enjoy the weather and the weekend! How are things going with your loss? I'm doing well, I've lost 29 so far and my first fill is Monday! Although, one drawback, I had to go to the er Monday because one of my incisions was bleeding and painful. I had a small abscess but it's healing now, I'm on antibiotics. Otherwise I am doing great. Hope you have a beautiful day!

I decided in 2004 having wt loss surgery was going to be the 'thing' for me in my life with wt management. It took until 2008 to actually go to a class towards achieving this goal. It took another 14 months before I was granted a surgery date.I was a chubby girl, then my brother died and this broke our family apart. There was such sadness. My constant:My food. This was my friend and my enemy in one. Thus the journey began.Weight gain, weight loss, more gained, getting older, etc.I gave up dieting in 2002.I would never again go on a diet because of the fear of failure and dieting doesn't work! 2 years later I learned about gastric surgery and began my walk learning all about this process. I've lost 38 pounds since March hoping to help my surgery be easier.People have said:"why do surgery since you're successful with losing wt on your own?" My answer: because I've done this many times before and I'm not taking chances with my life now! Surgery was Nov 5, 2009-starting surgery wt.250 pounds
