Hey Guys, I am 1 week post op as of today. I was sleeved 6/14. Did any of you have problems with you body processing your protein? I have tried it with 1% milk, 1% lactaid, and water. With in 10 min I break out into a cold sweat and then have to rush to the bathroom with diarrhea. Tmi, I know. But I have to figure this out because I met with my doc today and he told me to try with Lactaid, which I did when I got home and same thing happened. Please let me know. Thanks! Awkward Question About Protein Shakes..
mrsmyers2010 posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ever since I started working Protein shakes into my diet (official pre-op diet starts next Wednesday..!) I've had some serious stomach upset issues. I'm wondering if this is normal/ happens a lot, or no? I'm really worried considering I'm only having it as 1 Meal Replacement right now, I can't even imagine what next week will bring when I'm having them 3+ times a day! Please tell me this is normal and my tummy will adjust =/ (Sorry for the TMI!) -

Thank you for this thread. I'm one month out and haven't had a period yet, just spotting, which looked like old blood (sorry if that's tmi) . I was starting to get worried but it's comforting to know others are going through this . -
hiatal hernia repair and lapband on Sept 20th...
jmar replied to jmar's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
annnmariee, I am so happy with my surgical desicion. Today i woke up feeling almost 90% myself. I do tire out a little easier however, zero regrets. I think its awesome we had surgery on the same day. I LOVE the unjury flavored Protein. simple low sodium beef broth with the protein added was heaven today...lol. It has been my best purchase thus far. I like the chike flavors and loving the jellos with flavored protein. I plan in calling Md regarding constipation tomorrow. TMI ...LOL. Honestly, today was a great day and I am so ready for this journey..... -
Hey so I’ve been healing really well. I was sleeved 2/2 and I haven’t had any complications besides gas. I started walking immediately after surgery and had my first bm two days after surgery(sorry tmi!) It’s great overall, but I can already hold down liquids and my protein shakes. I even had a small bite of an egg and was fine. I’m a little worried because of how easy it is for me to get my fluids in. I have also been feeling hungry very often. I just don’t want to mess up and not lose weight. I start to feel full after about 3-4 oz and then I stop for a few minutes and am able to drink again. But I’ve read a lot that many can’t even drink a lot after surgery?? Is this normal?? Looking for any support buddies!!

This might be a little tmi, but how has all of your visits to the bathroom been? Has the liquid diet changed how often you go?

Beware---some of this post could be considered TMI! Okay... so yesterday I noticed my stomach aching in the area where I'm sure the band is. Aching with a sharp pain every now and again. Last night it hurt as I was going to sleep, but woke up this morning and it felt better at first but as the day progressed it started to ache again. I was banded in January and had very little restriction until my 4th fill which was last month. I can still eat pretty much anything as long as I am careful with things like bread. So I'm going back in my memory trying to figure out if I should be concerned about this or if it is just muscle ache from being more active then usual. So Sunday... I had a pretty good size Breakfast, which I felt full after eating, but not painfully full and no issue's with backing up. (So here's the tmi) About 2-3 hours after breakfast my husband and I had sex and I was on top for the first time in years :w00t:. Then Sunday night we had pretty vigorous sex again :cool2::embaressed_smile:. Then yesterday early evening we took our son to the park and I decided that I'd race my pre-schooler. It was my first attempt at running in-well-possibly ever. So now my left side is really achy. My stomach around my band, my lower back and my thigh are all achy today. It does not hurt to swallow/eat, but it hurts my stomach and into my left lower back to take a deep breath. I am not having any issues with reflux, pb or vomiting. I was thinking I'd try to stick to mostly liquids for the next day or so (which is nearly impossible for me to do), and then if I am still hurting by Thursday morning I will call my doctor and see what they have to say. So should I be worried?

Hi - Thanks so much for replying to the post, the support is great. It has been a couple of days and feeling ok. I had my appendix out in Sept but this was a bit rougher. At least I knew to expect having this big bloated belly, it really freeeked me out after my appendix surgery. I hope this belly goes down quickly. Since I got home Sat. I have only needed 1 pain pill each night to help with sleeping. I can actually feel my port under my skin, i had no idea it would be so palpable and close to the skin, weird. Like everyone else belly rumbling, jumping etc, but not bad just annoying and the gasx strips do help. I have to keep reminding myself to dring slowly because like everyone else if I drink too fast it's no party. Ok is this TMI? Thanks again my new friends.

Am I ruining my sleeve already???
Neensyb replied to KellyMarie8288's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I felt exactly the same, until I started on purees....don't worry, liquid is fine. I can't take huge mouthfuls, but liquid doesn't have any negative impact on me at all now and I'm getting lots of it in every day. My skin is VERY thankful for it, so is my toilet time....sorry TMI....you DON'T want the constipation believe me. -
extreme fatigue and sore body after walking and eating?
meridian.jpg posted a topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Today I walked up to Walmart, which is a good half a mile away from my apartment, and I had subway for dinner. I took about 30 minutes to eat and I waited 15 minutes to drink my tea. No problems, I felt fine that is until my mother came to pick me up around 9:45pm. As soon as I got in the house, I felt like I was going to faint and my whole body felt sore. So I sat down for awhile and stayed awake but around 12:45, I got cravings so I had half a Protein bar and 15 minutes later I had half a Protein shake. Right after finishing my half of the shake, I got that fainting feeling again and I felt extremely tired, more tired than I've ever been. I also feel weak, lightheaded, I have some chest pain and my arms are so sore. Back in Feb to the end of April, I was having a lot of extreme fatigue to the point just walking to the bathroom was making me weak and tired, I slept nearly all day and all night but, now in May, up until now, I was feeling a lot better. I also used to get the extreme fatigue after eating back then but the ER doctor and my doctor never addressed it. I know when I went to the ER back in April for (tmi) constant bloody and loose stools, I was told I have a "small and slow" lower gi bleed that could be causing the weakness and fatigue but they didn't admit me. I have not had any bloody stools since the end of April and I am still waiting to see a gi doctor and waiting to see my new surgeon again (had the surgery in Nebraska in September, left at the end of November to move to Flordia) because he's booked soild. :/ Anyone experience any of this, the fatigue, weakness etc? -
There is a LOT of information here and I'm sure I'll miss a few things I wanted to address, but: •"Failing" at the band--The definitions of success varies widely. Some studies are saying that the band delivers about a 51% ewl, some say 62%. (And, btw, the DS is closer to 75%.) We each have to decide what WE consider success. I don't have to get down to 128 pounds to be happy--which is good because I haven't weighed that since 1959--but maybe someone else does. If losing 50-62% of excess weight isn't going to feel like success to YOU, then chances are pretty good that YOU might consider the band a failure. •"Mixed Meetings"--I think that there ought to be a social time--to support and learn--and then each group ought to go off on its own. The leaders should be supportive of all the procedures. •"Carbon Filters"--Because of all the scare stories, I bought some. (My husband probably thought I needed them YEARS ago.) I haven't used them yet and no one has suggested that I do. I had no idea this applied to RnY people; I thought it was just a DS thing. •"The band is safer"--Well, yes and no. There are several takes on this. The band surgery is safer to be sure. But morbid obesity is not safe and if the band does not take someone out of morbid obesity, then the banded patient is not going to have a lower mortality rate than any other MO person. •"Nice, slow weight loss"--My orthopedic surgeon is pleased as punch, because the rapid weight loss has rapidly reduced my chances of having knee surgery fron the damage the excess weight has done. I'm STILL supposed to avoid stairs...but 25 pounds from now, I can climb those puppies again. •"My Aunt Jane's Uncle's neighbor's horse"--There are hundreds of thousands of RnY patients who are doing fine. We shouldn't have to dwell on those who are not doing fine to justify our choice. If the overwhelming majority of RnY patients were NOT doing fine, no insurance would pay for the surgery. (I still don't WANT the RnY...but I can find reasons why the DS is better for me and I don't have to mention anything I consider negative about the bypass.) •"Who-Has-What-Problem"-Last year, several dozen of us--band, RnY and DS--got together for a few days in Chicago. Since then, some of us have gathered in local groups and on a Las Vegas thing. Here's what I have observed: Nobody shat upon herself or others. Nobody had room-clearing farts. Most people who drank seemed to get drunk pretty fast. RnY people (in general) tasted stuff to see if it was too sweet, but ate most stuff. Bandsters (in general) had to avoid pastas and bread-y stuff. The restrooms were NOT full of barfing/dumping people. The DS'ers were the thinnest and ate everything, the RnY people were the next thinnest group and the bandsters--many of whom had lost a lot of weight as individuals--were (in general) NOT the thinnest group of people there. •"Disgusting bodily functions"--While banded, I produced the biggest, gloppiest, most viscous balls of goobered-up-slime...beyond what anyone could imagine. I'd make it out to the parking lot and have to spit that crap up. My husband had to pull the car over near bushes so I could barf it up without doing it in the middle of the street. And, I know I'm old and this is TMI for some, but my port was at the sternum and was in the way for some of my bedroom antics. And my reflux/bile/garbage in the throat thing was also a huge turn off for me as far as adult activities. I'm just saying, things are easier since my DS. •"Older bypass surgeries"--Those long-ago surgeries may have been a totally different surgery than they are doing today. The band may just be the very best thing that has ever happened to you. It may not. It is probably wisest to NOT put-down those who have chosen another path without REALLY researching that option...you never know when your own journey may just need an alternate route. I know there are those who say they would NEVER go with anything but the band. Their choice. MY choice is to NEVER be MO again...whatever road I must travel to get there.

ANY JUNE SLEEVERS OUT THERE???
Day Dreamer replied to A New Me's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hey Jewels~! Just a little update on me (sleeved 6/6/11). Doing well overall. Some minor pain at the big incision. Can sleep on my side - either side - as long as I use a pillow to prop up my leg and against my tummy. (( Sorry hubby, no cuddling yet...) LOL Umm that brings me to a TMI question people like to ask... yes "IT" was possible and "IT" was great!! LMAO Granted it was very easy going and gentle. Have to be extra careful this early out. OK moving hahaha... what am I eating... B - Powerade Zero, Water, 1/2 serving of Protein shake... whatever I can get in. L - still finishing breakfast!! LOL and D - when I really seem to be hungry - water, shake, lots of SF pops and Cream of Potato Soup (strained out). This diet is getting dull but in 2 weeks I get to add mushies.. so I am excited. Let's see, what else? Umm BM? Check.. VERY small, yet normal. Hunger pangs? Yep, like I said, dinner and after is my hungriest time. But I watch a lot of food Network at night, so that might add to my hunger. Energy? Hmm so-so. The PowerAde Zero has helped and plus I can drink gulps of water now. I feel hydrated although I am sure I could use more. Last, but not least, I have a hematoma in my pelvic/groin area. It is the size of a golf ball, no pain unless prodded and is just ugly. Otherwise, no issues!! Tip of the day - buy stock in sugar free pops... because I am going through them like crazy!! LOL!!! :cheer2: Congrats to all the Jewels that were sleeved this last week!!! YAY!!! And next week Jewels... wooosa! It will be fine. No worries! -
I have been banded for just over a year, but didn't feel real restriction until about 9 months (and 6 fills) into it. Then due to needing an upper GI with barium for my Crohn's disease, I needed an unfill (boo!) and have just now gotten back to my previous fill level. Hope this isn't TMI, but I usually do not have a period because of my birth control of choice. However, I have recently changed and this week got my period for the first month in about 2 years, and holy moly did my band seem to get tight. QUESTION: Is this coincidental or all in my head?? Anyone else experience a tightening of the band during TOM?

When does the diarrhea stop ????

Hey Guys, I know TMI... but I have been getting horrible gas pains right after I eat. Almost instantaneous. I am about three months out and this just started. Shakes are ok but I just had chicken and it was almost immediate. I'm chewing well so I don't think that is it. Gas X really doesn't help it. It is so weird. Anyone else? Or is i just me??
-
Not TMI at all. You're right where I was 5 months ago. Now I can walk and and walk. No doubt in my mind you can get there if you put the work in and follow the program.

Not even 6 weeks post op-Gaining weight?
ssflbelle replied to ssflbelle's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks everyone for your input, that is why I love this site so much. I went for bike ride came back and saw all these replies. So let me start by saying yes I agree that my Protein and calories are low but every time I eaten food this week and for the past 3 weeks I experienced pain under my left breast. That pain is why I am still drinking a Protein shake or protein hot chocolate in the morning, even though my Dr told me to stop the liquid Protein. This morning I had Think Thin protein oatmeal and within 4 small bites I had pain. I read the paper and 15 minutes later went back to it and was able to finish the cup. My Dr says I should be done eating in 20 minutes and only eat 3 times a day. It took me about 7 minutes to eat those 4 bites, waited 15 minutes that is 22 minutes and it took another 20 minutes after that to finish the rest of the cup. If I had stopped at the 20 minute mark I would have only had the 4 bites. To eat all that food which is only 1.76 oz till you mix it with Water (not sure how much that makes) in 20 minutes I can't do it. I always was a slow eater. Questions So do I blow off his 20 minutes and just keep eating with the breaks in between?Do I keep to the 3 times a day or just blow that off too and eat more often? Next Sodium I went back and looked at the sodium here is what I found Sunday 1,395 Monday 1.611 Tuesday 1,347 Wednesday 739 Thursday 839 Friday 856 Saturday 786 Was surprised to see that some items the Dr said I should eat were so high in sodium like the turkey lunch meat, the Lentil Soups and the cheeses. The Dr's office doesn't have a dietitian on staff yet, they are trying to get one on board and as of 2 weeks ago they were still working out insurance approvals and scheduling for her. Questions what should my sodium being? Should I eat more like what Ann was eating at 6 weeks 550 to 800 65 to 88 protein? By the way Ann that was very helpful, thanks. As for the Dr here is the info on him Medical Director of the Institute for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Board Certified, General Surgery Fellow of the American College of Surgeons Member of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons He is highly regarded among his peers for his technical skills, excellent outcomes and low complication rates. On staff at our Medical Center since 1995, He started the bariatric surgery program in 2000 with an extensive background in weight loss surgery. The Dr. trained under Dr. Alan Wittgrove, pioneer of the Laparoscopic approach of Gastric Bypass Surgery and the first surgeon to perform a Laparoscopic Gastric Bypass in the world. Since then, the Dr. has performed thousands of Laparoscopic weight loss surgery and has trained 36 surgical teams from around the world in his techniques. After graduating from Birmingham Southern College, the Dr. attended the University of South Alabama College of Medicine. He completed an internship and residency in General Surgery at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami, Florida. The Dr. is proficient in both open incision and Laparoscopic weight loss surgery. In addition to bariatric surgery, he performs an entire range of general surgery, including gallbladder removal, hernia repairs, heartburn surgery, colon and intestinal surgery, stomach surgery and skin cancer surgery. Sorry I do not know how to take off the blue since I copied the info above and pasted it. However to answer the other question. Yes I am having constipation problems. TMI probably!! I use to go every day before surgery and in these almost 6 weeks I can count on 1 hand how many times I went. When I do go it is very little. I tired the Citrucel twice that the Dr told me to take and it is disgusting to drink. So what do I do? To be up 6 pounds in one week is very discouraging to me. I agree I probably need to just weigh once a week and not every day. Thanks everyone for being here for me as I am on this journey alone. No family and friends I can talk to except for all of you here. -
Hi y'all well well. sitting by computer since sitting is the most comfy position. All went well thank god and I'm soo happy to be home! got banded at ab. 10 am.. was up ab. 11:15 and I just remember in recovery waking up.. coughing.. still had tube down my throat.. :girl_hug:. so they took out right away. and all i said was "paiinnn" "paiinnnn" they asked me how much 1-10 i told them a 6 1/2.. got some morphine.. a little while later i said "paiinnn" so they gave me some more.. lol.. at 12:30 i was up in my room already! Got up right away to go to bathroom and put on my pj's.. adn then I slept till around 2 ish.. (funny side note. my sis was banded 2 weeks ago.. when i was telling her my "paaainnn" story in recovery she BURST out laffing. she said that were the first words out of her mouth.. "paiinnn" painnn".. lol - i guess when we're tired we conserve our energy for the impt. stuff) walked around again w/ my hubby... and had this EXCRUCIATING pain on my right side, next to inscision area.. like a 1inch by 1 inch area taht was burning and stabbing me to my back.. coudln't stand straight. Otherwise everywhere else felt find. Thankfully I really did not have any gas pains.. I've had it from previous surgeries so I am soooo thankful that I didn't have that. So back to this pain. I didn't know what hit me. had a massive anxiety attack. (lovely) husband called nurse and they couldn't figure out why i was having pain in that spot. no'g there. It hurt when the fabric of my t-shirt was rubbing against it!! They gave me Toradol IV.. and that dulled it.. I was able to sleep some About 1-2 hours later Dr. Ren came and said I had some swelling on my right side of muscle when she did surgery.. ( I did have pain on myright side from a rib that kept on going out of place.. went to chiropracter twice and then figured what the heck.not gonna keep on going once a week to snap back into place. so lived with the discomfort and mild pain)so it seems she cut through some nerves there. and the pain that im' having is nerve endings that were cut. and that pain / discomfort will be there for a few weeks (GEE THANKS! :faint:).. Other than that and feeling like I had a truck run over my stomach.. which is bearable. i'm really doing well. i'm sorta hungry. but more in my head.. cuz i can't really drink much.. get full and a little nauseous and start burping :whoo: lol.. life is soo much fun the nerve pain kills when I walk.. it hurts to lay on couch.. but sitting in a chair is ok. problem is my butt KILLS already..:heh: from all the sitting. Vicodan does NOT work for me. never has.. and advil that i took ab. 2 hours after 2 vicodan also hasn't worked. called dr. and nothing can do. cuz can't call in a narcotic to pharmacy.. so i'll have to wait until tommorow. great. there goes another night of sleep. helllo late night TV once again! i wandered the hospital all night. Met some great pple who had the surgery too and it was therapeutic for all of us to talk and share experiences. still constipated but PETRIFIED to push.. lol. sorry for TMI... have aches under breasts. probably the little gas I have.. and incision sites are ok. a little painful.. i'm coughing up stuff. but taht is probably from tube. which is why my throat is killing me too... nervous ab. the cough but I put a pillow on my stomach. cuz i don't want incisions to bleed/pop.. (sis had that by gall bladder surgery and ended up in hospital all infected) all in all this is something I would do again if the results happen. which their is no reason it shouldn't!! I hope all of you are doing ok!! MissNilsa.. how u feeling? any better than this morning???? Did u get some sleep?? will keep u posted! Pemy

My surgery/hospital stay.
ajoneen commented on ajoneen's blog entry in Watch out life, here I come!!
I had surgery on 3/4 at 10am. Great time cause I got to sleep in a bit. Arrived at the hospital with my sister and husband and was directed to the surgical waiting area. They called my name, I was taken to pre op and given a gown , slippers and a hat, pointed to a tiny restroom. I changed, put my clothes in the bag with my name on it and came out into the pre op area with the beds separated by curtians. I was weighted (255) and assigned a bed. Note on the gown- nice and big made of soft paper and had velcro at the shoulders for-I found out later- ease of removal in surgery. The nurse asked me a million questions-allergies, what I was there for, name, is the ID band correct, medication Im taking. She started the IV, gave me a shot of Lovenox(hurt, stings) and my family was brought in. Anesthesiologist came looked at chart and left. Sidebar- I contacted the complementary medicine department at the hospital about relaxation therapy before surgery and was told to purchase a cd in the gift shop and listen to it before surgery. Than this lady, Irene would come up to pre op to help me with the stress of the surgery. Ok Im game. I buy& listen. In comes Irene all cheery, did I listen to the cd? yes. Am I still nervous? yes. How about listening to the cd again? screw the cd, I need more then the cd. She rubs my forehead and ears kind of like a massage, but not. She has stinky perfume. Ok I smiled said she could stop. Now she just hovered next to the bed talking about grace and mercy. I tuned her out. My Dr comes in & starts talking about the procedure and how everything will be fine. OK here it comes- I say It will be fine as long as I don't have a catheter. Dr says well thats not how they do it here. Wait for it..... Amanda FREAKS!!!!! I banged both hands on the rails of the bed and started in on how I was the patient and what I said goes. I gotta give the Dr credit he didn't freak (Irene jumped and disappeared) He just continued talking like I never popped a fuse and said maybe I wasn't ready for the band. My sister gives me the look and said I needed to explain why I wasn't going to have the cath. Now Im a little embarrassed about popping off and pissed that the cath has anything to do with getting banded. Staring off into the ceiling I explain why- infection, pain, and (the kicker) if no cath I will get up and walk more in recovery as with the cath I will remain glued to the bed. I will be a happier more willing patient. The Dr stops, blinks, says OK, and walks away. I am so pleased with myself. The Anesthesia nurse comes in with the good drugs, asks me who I am then pumps them in the IV. They start pushing the bed out of pre op. Sister squeezes my hand and husband gives me a kiss. I totally freak-again. Am I doing the right thing? Did I think this through? Someone is going to be CUTTING ME! This all passes though my head in about 5 seconds. Deep breath. The drugs must be kicking in. I don't care any more. Im just enjoying the view. Rolled into the surgery suite, asked to slide to other table, centered myself and told them I was "equadistance from both sides of the table". Ha ha. Next thing Im waking up in recovery. Im asked if Im in pain, rate it 1-10, I said 3 or 4. nurse said you mean more like 7 right? Nope , then I remember about how if you say you're nauseated they give you something that has a side effect of making you really sleepy and Im thinking sleepy would be really good now. So I say Im nauseous. In go the drugs out goes Amanda. I woke up about 2 hours later with the nurse saying that I needed to be moved to the bed I would be in overnight. HA? Bed? You mean moved to room, right. Nope. No room at the hospital, Im going to be staying at the back end of the recovery with 3 other Lap banders. Great. So they tell my family to leave and get me out of bed. Here is where I found out about the velcro on the gown. noone redid it after putting it back on after surgery and as I go to sit up I flashed the recovery room and my fellow patients all my new incisions and my boobs. Great. I get wrapped up, moved, pit stop at the john where I have to pee in a container they called the hat and connected to monitors and compression bootys. So starts my first overnight stay in the hospital. I could keep going about all that happened. The bed didn't work, the compression booties stopped working about midnight, pain shot (that I took only to get some sleep) gave me a headache, I used the sore throat spray on the scrape the Anesthesiologist made on the top of my mouth, ate alot of ice, tried to sleep, 3am ripped out of sleep by the fire alarm clanger next to my bed, the people running through the fire door also next to me,(the false alarm was never explained but since my hospital was in the fire district my husband volunteers in I knew I was in good hands), 8pm 12am,5am 8am temp and blood pressure, 2 more Lovenox shots(ouch), multiple trips to the john (about 500cc each for those that were counting) 8am trip to radiology for the barium and x ray. They messed up the first picture and had to do a total of three which meant that I drank 16oz of barium. Then Im sent home with instructions to drink 1 ounce every hour. (I asked about the 16 0z of barium, no one had an answer or comment) a pain scrip (later at the pharmacy I found out it was one that Im allergic to) and the instructions printed out from the nutritionist for my meals for the next 5 weeks. I dont think I want to go to the hospital again. At home all things are better. Heating pad for the shoulder, liquid Tylenol(good stuff!) for pain, lots of juice and broth with unjury added. Im a happy camper now. Very minimal discomfort. I don't think I will ever stop passing barium. (ya-TMI) Before surgery I drew a smiley face (my signature as I have one as a tattoo somewhere) and a green shamrock on my belly for the Dr to find. It was the first thing he mentioned to my family after surgery. Said everyone got a good laugh and he put the port right under the shamrock. Im thinking of getting a shamrock tattoo there later. So I guess Im really committed to this shrinking shamrock thing. TTFN -

Man, you dudes are clueless - and I say that in the nicest way possible! To those who think you should sing the praises of WLS from the highest mountain, did you ever think people get tired of hearing ALL about it? I don't care what others do but think about how others perceive you. I had a coworker get a RNY about 8 years ago. She went on and on and on and on about it for months! People were so sick of hearing about it. She didn't have a lot of family so maybe she needed people to listen. But trust me, it was TMI! And why do you think they put HIPPA laws into action? It's called privacy and it's a basic rite in healthcare. For those of us who work in healthcare, we are a snarky bunch. I choose to not cause a general distraction and keep them occupied with gossip. My closet inner circle knows. I have zero intention of answering questions about my weight or listening to acquaintances opinions on WLS. Give her a break for not telling people! It's her damn rite! I think many have misread the OP comments that this isn't a best friend anymore. You don't have to take out a sign on the interstate telling everyone nor is everyone entitled to a full disclosure about your life just because you were friends once. Lordy! This thread sure brought out some opinions! -

Surgery was good! Post op was painful, it's a major surgery, lots of gas pain. And the leak test X-rays was hard, but I think it's getting better, kept my liquid down today. And passing gas has been a great thing ( tmi ) also I have a very loose stool that looks like a baby first stool. -
OK Girls.. what the heck is the story

My work partner was complaining the other day about how teeny and flabby her boobs had gotten. She was never more than a plump B cup anyways. She pulled up her bra to show me and yes, they are little nubbins that really require no bra. She showed me how they sagged when she bent over. I was like, REALLY?!! I will show you something to cheer you up". So I whipped mine out, bent over and let them dangle. (Was DD now B cups) She was like, "WOW!" And she felt better immediately. Glad the girls can still bring joy to someone's life. (And there's no such thing as TMI in a small town ) -
i was sleeved on 4/2,everything has been really good,im full of energy, everything is almost healed.i still get a little diarrhea & gas in the evening ,tmi, but hoping that will change when i get to more solid foods.

Lol! TMI but.. yes, I take care of my own needs, but that doesn't seem to make a difference...

I completely agree with hopefulvspgirl I bought so many protien shakes I couldn't stand them after surgery so a lot of $$ down the drain. I also me get used baby plates or cutlery. The one recommendation I have is probably TMI but I would have Monistat our some form thereof my doctor had me on so many antibiotics while I was in the hospital that I was miserable about 3 days in at home. Hope this helps! Best of luck to you! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G891A using BariatricPal mobile app
