  1. My tummy has also been sensitive on solids. I am 5 wks tomorrow. I wake up feeling good as the day goes on I'm wore plum out. No stamina, energy just blah. Been crabby lately I'm frustrated I can't do all the things I need an want to do. I'm using myfitnesspal recording everything I'm staying between 40 to 70 protein drinking water. ..some juice half an half, I am having an issue with ALERT : TMI: constipation. I have a script it normally works me regular but I've seen a change since surgery on how it even affects me. I still can only get about 2 or 3 oz of bites in. Trying still to establish all meds. .I have been nauseous the past few wks..I actually fought throwing up this morning but I threw up anyway there wasn't nothing but foam..water a tad bit. I have a script for nauseous so I took one calmed it down. My bariatric nurse called today first time since surgery 5 wks out, asked me how I was doing. She said the nauseous will stop it just takes time. Havnt had much an appetite the past few days. I'm over 40 pds down. Overall I'm happy just been irritable I can't do much without dragging but right now. Next Mon me n gfs fly to MB for 5 days I hope I get some stamina back...hang in there everyone! Were on the mend...

    What to expect

Had my surgery Tuesday at North Vista Hospital (you are in Vegas, too, right?) When I woke up I definitely felt groggy. I looked around the room, and immediately a nurse was at my side telling me hello. I didn't feel any pain - just soreness. I cleared my throat a couple of times, then the nurse asked me if I would like some ice chips. I of course said yes, and she gave me some. (My doc does the leak test during surgery, so I didn't have to stay and have it the next day). I asked her if the doc was able to do the sleeve (I was a revision) and she said yes, he completed the band removal, hernia repair, and sleeve. I farted a couple of times (LOL-TMI but you asked!). Then, before I knew it, they were wheeling me back to the pre/post op area. I stayed there about 3 hours then went home. I was very lucky to have such a smooth experience. I hope yours goes just as well!

    OMG

Quick question...when you get diarrhea due to the pre-op liquid diet...can you take Immodium or Pepto Bismol to "plug you up" or does that defeat the purpose of the liquid diet to "clean you out"? Sorry if it's TMI.

    I need an exercise partner

I love my Fitbit One! It's about an inch and a quarter long, half inch wide, and has a super sturdy clip that I hook onto my bra so it's unseen and secure. It measures how many steps I take each day, but also number of flights of stairs i climb, how far I go and even attempts to tell me how many calories it thinks I've burned on a given day. I love that it has an 'alert' feature on the Fitbit One (the cheaper one doesn't have this) that I can set as often or whatever time and frequency I want, and it'll vibrate just enough to let me feel it - which is my reminder twice a day to get up from my desk and take a walk around the building, so i don't stay too sedentary. All that is just on the device's little window! Then I can see a more full report on my handheld phone and on my computer (or ipad). On phone and ipad and computer I can enter the foods I eat (like using myfitnesspal - or you can even link it to your myfitnesspal account) and it calculates how much I can still eat and stay within my goals for burning calories for the day. So on a super active day it'll say i have more left to eat while still keeping a 1000 cal deficit. I don't pay any attention to that calculation really, since i typically try to eat the same calories each day. It's been really accurate when I've checked it against mapping or other calculators, but you have to set your stride length and tell it your stats for it to do that accurately. They're about $100 but I had a loyalty coupon from Best Buy that knocked off $15, so good deal. Honestly, If I lost it or wrecked it, I'd buy another one tomorrow! It's essential for me keeping track and keeping motivated. Also - (Sorry if TMI) I got one for my hubby, and my niece and I have 'friended' each other on it too, so we can all check to see who's ahead with steps or stairs - and it doesn't share anything you don't want, like weight or food or anything. Finally, I accidentally went swimming with it on once, and it dried out just fine. Others have said you can do that maybe one time, but the second time they got it soaked it died. I"m hoping NOT to do it again obviously! Good luck - go check them out.
  6. There is no polite way to say this. I think I am experiencing labial chafing! I have lost a LOT of weight in the past year of so and since wearing smaller clothes, I think all my clothes are rubbing on the extra skin near the vaginal/ labial area. I have tried wearing looser clothes, but eventually pants etc do start rubbing, I wear pantiliners daily and I have tried every OTC remedy known to man (inc gold bond- don't try it- it is painful!!). Anyone else experience this? Aside from vaginoplasty, what did you do? Thanks!!

    August Sleevers Check In

Just a little TMI self-report on Day Two of the two-week preop diet (first week is two shakes and a Lean Cuisine). 1. Nothing awful, but it's a headache day (and I NEVER have headaches). 2. Honestly, I feel a little flu-ish, too. 3. One other thing -- they should call this "the pee diet." I must've peed 3 gallons already today. (It's my liver using up glycogen and shedding water. So that's good.) Over and out.
  8. There are a lot of 'little things' that over time I've come to realize are not so little. I hate the fact that my kids will have tons of photos of themselves, but very few photos of us together. I hate the 'hard to wash' parts in the shower. TMI, but it's true. Yo Yo dieting - my last attempt was HCG - lost 40 lbs and gained back 50. Celebrating when my kids learned to swim - mostly so I could stop getting in the Water with them. Becoming less and less outgoing the bigger I get Feeling ashamed of being the biggest wife at my hubby's work functions I could go on, but you get the point.

    Woman only please

I just posted this yesterday regarding similar issue: Sorry if this is TMI, but I'm sharing incase someone else is going through the same thing. I had my surgery 11/26/13 and got my period 11/30. It was heavier and longer than usual. I talked to my bariatric nurse and Dr., they both said the same thing, it's normal. Well fast forward 8 months, I continued to bleed off and on. We tried switching my birth control 4 different times. They assured me that it was normal because of the rapid weight loss. I called my ob/gynecology just to get her input cuz, I was so tired of it. She wanted to do an internal ultrasound just to check things out. Turns out that due to my hormone levels changing so much with the weight loss, it spiked my estrogen causing 2 grape size polyp's on my cervix. Finally after 8 months of bleeding I had an answer that had I solution! She said that she has seen this in a lot of her WLS patients. I will have them removed on the 8/4 and should finally have a normal period again!
  10. I did some research and expected some spotting post op, which i had on post op day 3 and 4. Then about 16 days later i SWORE i ovulated and then a couple weeks after that i had a spontaneous period. the first in over 20 years. i know i had to have ovulated when i thought i did- also the first time without fertility drugs- probably since high school! estrogen is stored in fat so melting off pounds may help to induce normal ovulation and menstruation. I called my OB and got back on birth control pills. I have PCOS and although this first 'natural' cycle is good, it will take many more pounds to shed before my PCOS is affected. tmi- it was a VERY heavy cycle (having been off the pill for 6 wks prior to surgery) and lasted for many days.
  11. Thanks all. Intellectually I know these things but emotionally it's hard. One thing that is good is that The pounds coming off slower after surgery validates me in the fact that I was having such a hard time losing weight preop. Also I have to look at other positives. I could button my jeans today without it hurting. :-) I can start seeing my jawline again. (TMI) I was also having some bladder issues that have improved with the lost weight. No knee pain today either.
  12. I know this is a little gross....TMI, but I need to know...Is anyone else constipated from the Pre-op liquid diet? I've been doing 2 protein shakes a day and a small dinner (4oz. lean meat and greens), and I cannot use the restroom. It is killing me! Do you think I could take anything to make me go?
  13. Have searched and saw old post. Just wanted a more updated response. What's anyone been experiencing bad periods since having surgery. I was sleeved on July 1st. Since then I have had a full week and then spotting, I just started with an extremely heavy flow ( sorry if TMI ) I did read that hormones are stored in the fat and can caused abnormal periods. Just wondered if anyone else is having the same experience. Thanks

    Feeling Relieved

update...was released from this hospital this evening. Probably would have been released sooner if not for a miscommunication between my surgeon and the hospital. To be honest, I think he flat out forgot to leave my discharge instructions. That's a downfall with these great surgeons. They get so busy, they don't remember everyone. I guess as long as he remembers what he's doing in the operating room, that's all that really matters to me. Anyway, I started getting gas pain pretty bad. I didn't feel it too much until it moved down into my bowels and now just sits there. Walking a lot, but so far not much relief. The pain meds are keeping that pain manageable though. That's my mission tomorrow. To "break wind". Lol! Sorry if tmi, but they say that's a good sign that everything is moving along. Just took my first dose of the prescribed meds I filled for when I got home. For the first time I felt like I might not be able to keep it down. I managed though, thank goodness. Can't imagine what pain it would be to have to throw up in this condition. So far, not a moment of regret. Just going to keep taking it day by day. Hoping sharing will help others. Time for a nap
  16. That's.scares me because I have had 2 periods this month....its not tmi....we have to help eachother ans share stories lol

I have to wait until aug. 15 to see my doctor. I'm worried. Like you, I would love to make it to 150. I could easily guzzel 32oz of water or eat a large pizza and I don't think it would come back up.( Sorry if that's TMI ) but I just don't have the restriction. Don't get me wrong, I don't want to go around throwing up all the time but dang! ????

    JULY 2014 SLEEVERS GROUP

Was sleeved on 7/24. Started full liquids on Sunday. TMI issue, but since starting the milk protein shakes have had bad diarrhea. I can't tolerate the unflavored protein in clear liquids or shakes made with water. Anyone else have this issue? I've never had an issue with milk before. Lucky me

    Trouble with bowel movements

My rny was the 18th. Not just constipation but STUCK. Sorry. Tmi. I just bought some Ready Fiber today and drank miralax last night. I bought a laxative suppositiry and an enema if none of this works. I hope it works. Gross on the latter two. Lol I feel your pain.
  23. I was wondering if anyone else is having diarrhea ?? I know to much TMI...
  24. I took a couple of bites of scrambled egg today at around 8am and then waited about an hour to have some of my Protein drink to take my medicine with. I still haven't taken all of my medicine. Two pills and two sips later I felt like I was going to throw up. I have been like that for hours. Finally those sips of Protein Drink came up. About 30 minutes ago I took a tsp of Pepto Bismol and that came up. I can't drink anything. I got sick again and it looked like I drank the whole bottle of Pepto. I am feeling better but it still feels like something is stuck. I called the dr on call and it didn't seem to be a big deal to him but it sure is to me! Fiance is out looking for Papaya Extract for me. Oh God I hope this never happens again.
  25. just started my Viactiv chews... Chewed the whole thing at once thinking no biggie...learned the hard way (TMI warning!!) when I ended up in the bathroom for awhile afterwards. ARGH. Just an FYI
