Glou, I'm a bit weird too, and don't like all the work bs that happens hence I prefer to work at home when I can but at the moment not working. I don't think I could deal with a guy who was that controlling either, too weird, belongs on Dr. Phil! I'd go for the better school district too! Nancy

Revision Recovery Timeline - Band to Bypass
TX_KB replied to spealex's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I had band to bypass revision on 12/22. I was fine by the next day and went home from the hospital. Had no problems with liquids. Was walking around. Only needed pain meds at night before bed and the occasional Tylenol. Was off pain meds by the first week post-op. I had a little soreness but nothing too bad. No nausea. Gas pain was gone by about day 3. I took off 3 weeks from work bc I do 12 hour shifts that require physical activity. I could have gone back at 2 weeks. The first week, the main problem was fatigue and weakness. I took a nap every day. Once I could start eating more real food, I had more energy. I have young children and was able to take care of them the first week. Recovery from this has been better than the band for me. -
Tmi, But Hoping Some One Can Help !
Vicki Loichinger replied to irshangel's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This sounds like what i went through in the middle of the night. Keep in mind I am have not had surgery yet. But I am diabetic, Woke up at 3 in the morning sweating profusely couldn't lift myself out of bed, woke hubby had him get my glucose meter. my blood sugar was 56, my husband poured orange juice down my throat, came up to 69 then he fed me some ice ceam then it was 114. When i got up this morning it was 297. I felt the dirahea and nauseu this morning and feel like I have been ran over by a truck. So your symptoms do sound like low blood sugar. After surgery I have been wondering will treating a low blood sugar cause me to dump and then the process of yuck start all over. -
I would not consider YOU a successful WLS patient!

I'm so sorry you went through all that bs. Speaking for myself, I will say that I need you here so please don't go anywhere! <3 -
I am 5 weeks PO and having “hunger” feelings in my mouth which I believe are bc of stomach acid. Does anyone else have these- and what did you take? I’m confused if I should be taking Pepcid or Prilosec? I know they have different main ingredients!

Hair loss 1 year out
katie09/21/2016 replied to Saeed's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yep. The fight and struggle is real - I am living that. That's why it's unhelpful to see people cutting into others for no reason. I see repeat offenders and I realize I'm probably going to get lynched off the forums just because I spoke up about something I think is distasteful (HOW DARE I!). I Have tons of respect for some of the "warrior" names listed: I see strength and humility in those people & I enjoy reading their posts. I get so fed up with the people who just are nasty for the sake of being nasty. There are elements on the forums are proving to be a reflection of society: it's a "shut up you fat b*tch, be seen and not heard while us thinner and wiser souls have the floor and dictate the terms". That's what this is coming across to me as. I'm bracing for the attack now - all because I pointed out it's not helpful to tell someone their surgeon is "full of crap". Maybe I can come back when I'm thinner and I will be "allowed" to speak up? Scary journey indeed. Sent from my iPod touch using the BariatricPal App -
No restriction
BadWolfGirl replied to GotItDoneInHarlem's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm assuming you're still at mush food? I think once you start eating more solid food you'll feel more restriction. That being said, so many people had me so scared about certain foods and so far I can eat almost anything. The ONLY thing I've had a problem with is eating too quickly when I'm not paying attention. It happened again tonight. Taking to a friend as we were playing cards and was eating my crab and a few minutes after finishing, it came right back up. I also don't tolerate creamy soup, I think for the same reason. They go down too fast and then I feel sweaty and hot and nauseous but bc they're liquids there's really nothing left to throw up as it's already went down the tubes so to speak lol. Bottom line, you'll learn you best. Take it slowly! Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk -
I guess I'm confused. Why would you need an attorney to appeal? Seems like a waste of money. I would head to Mexico before I did that. That's what I'm doing. Not wasting another moment on the insurance BS!

Extreme Fatigue - 3 Months Out.
gabrielle2014 replied to gabrielle2014's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Veronica - My doc said this isn't normal and I don't hear alot of others (I'm in a few groups) going through this. They all say they have great energy. But you would think it would make more sense given what we can eat now. But it is just so odd to me to feel so good but be this tired. Ginger - my doc tested my B12 and D and both were good - I was actually getting too much B12 bc I read my sub lingual bottle incorrectly. -
mine said no gummies. I can tell you they don't make a gummy that contains iron bc I was always looking for one for my daughter who needed iron. But I was told that I had to take chewable for the first 3 months for proper absorption. HW: 280 SW: 231 CW: 203 GW: 140 Sleeved 5/31/17

I tend to go more for yoga pants (fitted around thigh, looser from knee down) but I have some jogging (& danskin too) that I'll wear at the gym. All black (lol IS there another color???) with a long tshirt. I've gotten most of mine at target & kmart but my old navy ones are nice, too. My gym wouldn't notice sweat pants at all, but i personally won't wear them bc they are so heavy & itchy. 347*294/284/135 (*347HW/294SSW) | (twitter) @Mwrarr | mwrarr.wordpress.com

Lisa you are going through stages of grief. This is a process and I hope you can find a therapist to help get through this. It's not just about eating. It's about depression. Perhaps you can talk to your PCP or bariatric doctor about the depression. It is really super hard to lose a person you love so much and to see him fight as hard as he good and to lose the battle at the end. I'm talking as a therapist bc I am a therapist.... talk to us as much as you need too. Everyday.......

Mississippi Republican presents bill to make it illegal to feed obese people
kagoscuba replied to NukeChik's topic in Rants & Raves
My point was, if a bar can refuse to serve drinks to someone who is obviously impaired (they didn't have to drink there; they could have come to the bar drunk already...happens all the time), then why is it such a stretch of the imagination for a restaurant to refuse to serve food to someone who is obviously well fed already? I understand the logic, even though I don't condone it. Even another example is the fact casinos can and do refuse to allow addicted gamblers into their casinos, once they are put on the "do not allow" list. -
Do what you need to in order to feel comfortable. This is a big surgery! Research and ask lots of questions. I don't blame you for using that cop out. I work in an office full of big mouthed opinionated women- and have male bosses. I told my boss , and I am going to need to speak to the owner. (Ugh, surgery is 2 wks before my anniversary/more vaca days!) My mom doesnt think he'll ask... But I do. He has all daughters so I dont think female issues will scare him. I do worry though bc he has a big mouth too. Oh well. Everybody is going to realize something was done when we start dropping weight so fast!!! Woohoo! :-)

Would you switch lap band surgeons at this point?
JinTx replied to llband2011's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Similar thing happened to me. I went to a surgeon other ppl went to. They liked him so I would too, right? Initially I ignored my guy. Went through preop with him, tons of money spent on EGD, blood work, barium swallow, ultrasound all for nothing bc I decided to listen to my gut. This was the end of April. I have since switched surgeons and ins has appvd me and hipeti be banded in sept. The point? Follow your gut. If you think you should switch then visit with another one at least for a consult. -
Has anyone had the smell of some foods bother them?

I'm almost 3 months post op and I have stomach flu. This is TERRIBLE. I haven't had the stomach flu in 10 or so years. The vomiting and diarrhea is just awful. I went to dr. They have me some meds. Does anyone have any "go to" beverages? I cannot handle Water. I don't want to do tea bc of the caffeine. I have been drinking Powerade zero as much as possible and had some diet ginger ale. I went from nauseated to now cramping--- probably bc of all the meds and this is so rough on my tummy. Is there anything that helped you guys ever? I'm desperate and miserable. The Food Police Were Out In Full Force Yesterday!
Seela replied to Seela's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I may be misunderstanding but I find it interesting that many of you (I think ) are assuming I started this thread because I was eating crap. Interesting. .. actually I ate one slice of Turkey, about a tbls each of stuffing and mashed potatoes and a few green beens. I was really good and still got all the comments and scrutiny. Oh yeah... I did have a little piece of dark chocolate too. So what? I'm a big girl, aren't I? I only got fed up and said something because this has been going on for weeks and I was sick of it. I tried talking to my family about it nicely and it didn't work, so BAM! now they get it. I don't mind honest curiosity and questions about my diet but I don't need to be policed. -
Congrats Cootie, I know you must be on cloud 9. Sometimes I wished I would have had some patience and let BC/BS do they're thing and pay for it instead of my not being able to wait and pay myself. I admire you. You will also be amazed at how fast the week or two goes by and then the day of surgery seems like it lasts for 15 min. It'll be over before you know it and you will be asking us about fills, I did. Good luck and congrats on everything going so smoothly. If you have any questions at all feel free to ask or pm me or any of us. I also have lots of pictures before during and after and of the fills themselves.

How To Manage Work After Rny?
jenneliza replied to Christopher's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I do a protein shake for a quick breakfast and made a bunch of frozen lunches in tiny containers like chilli, crab cakes, etc. go to theworldaccordingtoeggface.com and search bites. They are very easy to make ahead and freeze for grab and go! I keep a water bottle with me everywhere at work to sip sip sip all day. Its almost easier now that in working bc all the meals are premade and easy. -
Which Surgeons Are Most Recommend?
kputman09 replied to MadlyCap's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I had surgery with Dr Illan on march 28th of this year. To date I have lost 87lbs and wouldn't change a thing! My experience was amazing and I want to go back this summer to visit! Omar is by far the greatest person/friend to have thru this! (He is your patient coordinator) he actually had the surgery by Dr Illan in April so he can be a big help bc he's experienced it all himself. Feel free to email me any time you have questions or concerns I would love to help you! I promise you can't go wrong with Dr Illan and Omar! Good luck!! -
