    4th of July Challenge!

Lost 3 pounds this week. It's not alot, but it was good to break my 3 week stall.
  2. I started at 272 pre sleeve. at 3 weeks out i had lost 24 lbs. at 6 weeks out ( after a 3 week stall) I had lost 30lbs. now at nearly 8 weeks out i have lost 37lbs. You have probably hit your first stall, happens to us all, and it will end, they can last from a few days to several weeks. just keep doing what you are supposed to and it will start to fall off again .
  3. I stopped losing weight at about 3 weeks post op, and the scale hasn't moved since. It's been holding steady and pissing me off. How long do I need to wait? How do I get the scale moving again????

    No weight loss! :(

You could be in the middle of whats called the 3 week stall. Most people find that in the third week out, the stop losing temporarily. Its your'e body's way of catching up to the 21 pound weight loss!! Don't worry. Most people find they lose inches during the time they don't see the number on the scale move. Have no fear. Just give it a bit of time. Usually the scale will start going down in a few days to a week.

    the dreaded three week stall!

OK so I knew it might happen, but hoped it wouldnt!! it has!! the dreaded 3 week stall, no weight loss for a week now so whats going on?!! I am consuming all my water, protein is up in the 70's i am exercising. Please someone give me some hope that this will end soon?? I have 5 weeks until I go on a cruise and really want to be 14lb down by then!! its very very frustrating (also not constipated!!) many thanks for any support or advice!
  8. How did you get past it? I know part of my issue is protein intake. I can't eat much at a time so it's hard to get it all in. I also am running out of ideas for breakfast. I just started some solids this week (fish, tuna, canned chicken, etc). I am not complaining at all...I am down 20 pounds which is amazing but I want to make sure I am doing everything I can to lose and still follow the plan! I didn't have the surgery just to find ways to cheat so any suggestions on the right way to kick start the weight loss again?
  9. It's becoming annoying to see the scale say the same thing everyday for the last week ok now I'm ready for it to go down. I'm going to follow this suggested menu from my docs today it's a lot more than what I've been eating drinking and the Protein is definitely way more so maybe this will help. :/ Any other suggestions?
  10. Wow, good job! You look great..Did you get the 3 week stall at all? IF not, what was your eating routine like? I haven't lost in 2 weeks and I"m getting so frustrated..

    Stalled at Week 3

The 3 week stall is so common there should be a sub forum just for it. Really, almost everyone does it....then goes on to lose their weight and get to goal, so don't worry too much about it. There is a link in my sig to a good article explaining the whole situation.

    Resetting the system

You can google it. But it's basically 2 days full liquids, 1 day soft foods, 1 day ease back into normal foods. By the fifth day you're done.....those are the basics....there's a little more to it. But the purpose behind it can be to break a stall or just help kickstart us back into good habits after we've slid back into some old bad behaviors. Some say it will help bring back some restriction. It will in the sense that even a normal person can starve themselves for a few days and the stomach shrinks. It's not going to reverse months or years of overeating though. But it's a good way to break a cycle of bad eating behavior DISCLAIMER: For anyone reading this, I wouldn't recommend it for the newly sleeved. This is for people who are months down the line. If you've hit the 3 week stall this will not help. Plus you're likely still not on full foods yet anyway.

    Stall-please give feedback

The dreaded 3 week stall. This too shall pass.
  14. Dang it....I've been there too and it stinks. The dreaded 3-week stall! I FREAKED OUT when I actually gained a pound during that time. Contacted the nutrionist at the surgeons office (because I was convinced I was going to be one of the people the sleeve surgery didn't work for.) Her exact words, "Relax. It is normal for weight to flucuate, especially after surgery. You do have restriction there. Just keep doing what you are doing and the weight will come off." She was right of course. Seems like when I have a stall or even gain, it's always right before I have a dramatic drop in weight. My weightloss has not been a smooth downward track, it looks more like steps...down then flat.....down then flat. You keep doing what you are doing and you will lose. May have a few more stalls along the way too. You are welcome to read my blog as I started at roughly the same weight but am only a few weeks ahead of you. http://hoosierfatty.wordpress.com/2013/03/04/three-week-stall-weight-and-diet/ Good luck!
  15. Hi guys. I finally decided to join in on this thread. Have been following the thread for a while now. A lot of useful information I just love reading everybody stories. My name is Sunette and I am from Perth WA. Sleeved 22/3/2013 about 6 weeks out. Pre-surgery weight 99.8kg Surgery day 95.4kg Post op weight loss 6.1kg Currently 89.2kg I have lost consistently for the 1st 3 weeks post op and nothing since then. Getting in my Protein and Water and walking a lot (I am a Registered Nurse) I am becoming discouraged and thinking is this it? What if my sleeve isn't working? I know almost everybody stall at 3 weeks but a 3 week stall in total is just getting me down. Well that is my final crying in your ears. Congrats to everybody weight loss so far. Honestly love this thread and support. Sunette

How I broke my latest stall

the 3 week stall happens to most people. Your body needs to adjust. Never fear it will pass I know it is hard to believe that but its true. I stall all the time. This last stall lasted for almost a month. I no longer get upset as I know this is how I lose. I will stall for quite a while and then lose a bunch. I don't mind it as long as I know I am still having the times when I lose. I know my body will lose weight with the amount of calories I consume in a day. Just think back to what we used to eat in a day and look where we are now!! Good luck!
  17. Pretty sure I hit my 3 week stall a week early. I'm thinking it has something to do with me losing 20 lbs on my pre-op diet + 18 lbs the first week and a half post-op. I'm averaging between 59 and 77 grams of Protein per day and getting in all of my fluids (60+ oz), so I'm pretty sure that's not it. I haven't even started pureed or soft foods yet, just liquids. And, for me, that is Protein shakes, Water, and an occasional 12 oz bottle of G2. I'll have Soup broth a couple of nights a week if I'm feeling it. Any ideas on how to break it? I'm pretty sure this has been posted several times, but I can't seem to find the post.
  18. The dreaded three week stall! Oy!!! I was sleeved on March 18th, 2013. My pre surgery weight was 230 and surgery day it was 218 and my current weight as of this morning was 194....I had hit my 3 week stall right on schedule but thankfully it lasted only 9 days!!! I am grateful for every single experience that I have had.....even the stall...I am happy to say that I have once again picked up on the weight loss and I only look at the scale 2x a week....!!!
  19. Trust us! We've all been there... stalls are no fun but they do pass. It's possible the 3 week stall is some sort of natural body cycle because its such a common occurrence among folks here. I lost quite steadily in the first six months and then it s-l-o-w-e-d down. I'd loose 2-4lbs per month and it would all of a sudden drop off after my period started. I'd stalled for almost two months (11-13 months post-op) and started some jogging that helped me drop another 5lbs. Now I'm stalled again and know I'll have to do something pretty different if I want to kick the last 20lbs. You ARE doing GREAT. Just stick with your Dr's plan and keep exercising.
  20. I too experienced the dreaded 3 week stall! Mine lasted 2 weeks! I was so upset but last week I lost 4 lbs! Just stay on track and it will come off! oh yeah and I know its easier said then done but try to stay off your scale!
  21. It's called the 3 week stall. Don't worry, it happens to most of us. Your weight will start dropping again, just stay on track with your calories and fluid.
  22. 3/26 - 30 lbs down and I hit the dreaded 3 week stall! Fortunately I was cleared to go back to the gym and I'm now on purées. Hopefully that will help!
  23. Hello 3 week stall, I've been waiting for you.....

  24. Didn't effect mine at all. I've got hashimotos (severe under active thyroid--auto immune my body is actually killing it) and I've taken 150. Mcg of synthroid for over a decade. Course, I'm not losing super fast either and right now I'm on my 3 week stall

    Seeking Buddies 5'2" & Under

4'11 HW 252 SW 218 CW 201 I had a 3 week stall and this is the first week of loss. I went from 233 to 218 on the pre-op and was 2 weeks late on my period post-surgery. I blame those two factors for my stall.
