I am currently on my fifth bag of GENEPRO. I had my bloodwork in October and I am right on target. After my surgery I got where I could not drink any other Protein drinks. They were just too chalky and I would gag on them. I tried several kinds.....ISOPURE left a terrible metal taste in my mouth..... whey shots were just horrible....could not stand Premier....etc. This is been the best for me! It might not be for everyone, but it is for me. I make a big tumbler (Bubba Jug) every morning with Crystal Light and keep it on my desk and sip on it. After lunch I usually make another big tumbler full. I get my protein in and my Water at the same time. If I put it in my coffee....I mix it with the creamer....zap it in the microwave and then add the coffee....it mixes better and I like my coffee hot. I have mixed it in yogart, pudding, sprinkled on food.....etc.

No Flavor Protein Powder
time for june replied to MommyRedmond's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just saw on here someone posted GENEPRO not sure I am getting ready to google it as I am looking for something different -
I am totally not a scientific type person, so can someone use small words to explain to me how GENEPRO works? How is it possible to get 30 grams of Protein from a tablespoon, when a tablespoon only contains 15 grams?
-
Trying the Genepro....just ordered mine....thx for the information
-
Thanks for sharing. I am going to try GENEPRO. I've been using unjury but I can still taste it and it's not as much Protein and seems to be more expensive. Love Amazon Prime as it should be here in 2 days. ~LA

I looked it up when I saw your question. It looks expensive to me. Check into GENEPRO.....30 grams of Protein in a tablespoon. It is oderless and tasteless. I also mix it in my Crystal Light Lemonade (don't like sweet drinks). You can mix it with hot or cold..... they send you little packets so you can carry it with you.

Syntrax Nectar- LOVING IT!
shizwiz replied to shizwiz's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@ShannonbKSU I don't have the packets (I got the big ol' tubs), but I believe the individual packets are meant to be a 'one-time use' deal. I think you would use one packet of the Protein powder for one full shake. I use a whole scoop of powder, a full packet of individual Crystal Light mix, and a whole bottle of Water (a 16.9 oz bottle). You could probably use a 20 oz bottle of water and that would work, too. Then, shake it up, add some ice, and BOOM, you're done! I have GENEPRO ordered via Amazon and en route to me...it is a unflavored poweder so I think I am just going to mix it into random stuff and see how it goes. Soup, crystal light, coffee....etc. It has glowing reviews from everyone who has tried it. I will probably post once I try it and give my 2 cents. Also- I bought some Snapware storage containers this weekend for my Protein Powder. The bottles that Syntrax puts the powder in does not fit in my cabinets. I got these for $9 each at my local store and they work perfectly. I just wrote the flavor on a piece of painters tape (removable) so I could tell them apart. Here is a link if anyone is looking for a container that fits a whole jug of Syntrax (or other powder): http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004173R76/ref=ox_sc_act_title_6?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER Cheers- and happy Monday to all! -

What about Genepro protein powder? -
You could try liquid Protein instead of the powders and shakes. Liquid Protein mixes well hot or cold. I used Prosource unflavored but others like the GENEPRO and unjury unflavored Proteins.

I had unjury in my tomato soup yesterday and could not taste it at all. However, I have not tried the Genepro. Does anyone know of a genepro sample? mom2kandh Day 2 of 3 day pre-op diet
-
I got the sample pack from unjury, and I only liked the strawberry sorbet. Trust what everyone says about GENEPRO. I know I seem like I'm stalking you, and you probably think I work for Genepro, but I don't. But, you can't taste it at all. Honest!

Unflavored protein powder

I also use GENEPRO. Love it. I order it off amazon.com too. -
I didn't care for the unflavored unjury. I use GENEPRO daily and LOVE it!! If you order in on Amazon it should come pretty quickly. I order it using my prime membership and get it in two days!! But whatever you use you have to like it or you wont use it. It is so hard to figure that out, believe me!! I use the Genepro every morning in my decaf hot tea, and I use the RTD premiere Protein in vanilla and chocolate. I also have vanilla and chocolate splendor from Unjury but really don't use that anymore, my husband and daughter love it and use it almost daily. LOL Good Luck!!

How can I increase my protein intake during the first four weeks post op...?
BellaLuce4 replied to Jorrin's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I bought GENEPRO on Amazon, Because of some threads on BP. Everyone was raving about it! I was using unflavored Bariatric Advantage and believe me, you could taste it and had to use 2 large scoopes!!! The Genepro is great, only a tiny amount packs a lot of protein and you can't taste it. I've use it in so many things now, it's a great find! Genepro Genetic Tri-Protein Peptide Powder - Net Weight 453.5 Grams - 30 Servings http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00K6OSDYA/ref=redir_mdp_mobile/185-5910811-8736569 -
Does your Protein powder taste like it has a medicinal taste? I use unjury which I find very pleasant tasting. Another benefit is that it has 100% protein isolate, which is the protein most absorbable. Another brand that is all isolate and a good taste are Syntrax nectar. I haven't tasted GENEPRO but heard it is tasty also.

Bob, I work for he federal government in an agency that regulates food. cynthiarm2000, I admire you for eating the way you do. I would very much like to be eating organic...grass fed...ethically treated...minimally processed...uncured.. ...foods. I would like to have my own chickens, so I know they are humanely treated in the eggs I eat. Unfortunately, I don't have the money to purchase organic, grass-fed, ethically treated products. They do cost more than the factory farmed ones in the grocery store. Working full time, I don't have the time to raise my own chickens. How has my identity changed since surgery? I'm now called "skinny". I concentrate on getting my Water in, Protein in, taking supplements, getting regular exercise and doing things one day at a time. I try not to preach weight loss surgery to those I am so tempted to prosleytize to. I know that people have to come to their own decision about weight loss surgery, since it is highly personal and everyone is different. Before surgery, I ate whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted. Now I have to do a considerable amount of planning regarding what I will eat, when I will eat it and how I will prepare it. Because I am not a cook, work full time and have a busy life, I live on GENEPRO Protein powder and Quest bars right now. I would like to do more cooking when I retire in 7 years. I hope to raise chickens in 7 years but I'm thinking that may change too. I would like to travel when I retire as well. Having chickens to take care of and traveling don't work well together. I think you'll find some adjustments to your occupation as a "food guy" but I wonder if it may give you an opportunity as well. You will be in a position to create new recipes that are high in protein and lower in carbs. IMHO there will be an opportunity in the near future for those businesses catering to people like me who are needing high protein, low carb meals. I notice advertisements are proclaiming how much protein their products have. I LOVE it when I can go to a restaurant and they have something tasty on a menu which fits into my food plan. Something that doesn't come in a HUGE portion that is high protein and low carb. I don't know if my rambling helps you or not. I wish you success with your surgery and hope you have an easy recovery. Blessings, Kathleen

Anxious for my surgery on December 18th I have ordered GENEPRO Protein powder it's 30grams of protein per tablespoon and can be mixed in anything hot or cold. I'm hoping this will help me as I can add it to just Water to get my fluids plus protein at the same time.

Where are the November Sleevers?
happymama2014 replied to ToccoraVSG's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
One month out tomorrow. Doing well. Big adjustment. Lost 12 lbs week one, another 6 week 2, another 9 past two weeks. 25 lbs so far. Weight loss slowed when I started cottage cheese. I added tuna a few days early I needed something more substantial. The fake creamy Soups were horrible. Adding GENEPRO to my favorite broth and crystal light gets my Protein in. But I have 3 meals of yogurt, protein coffee drink, tuna or lunch meat. I had a scrambled egg tonight and it was heaven. Kaiser said none for eight weeks but my surgeon told me yesterday that it was okay. Finding it difficult to get the Vitamins in because all the chewables and liquids I got make me sick. I was so afraid I wouldn't be able to take regular pills I got everything I could chewable or liquid. Yuk. I'm working on it. Thankfully I can drink Water with almost no restriction The problem is making sure I stop enough time to eat. Not quite getting in my 64 ounces but it's just because of timing. It's such a big adjustment not knowing how much to eat. I'll eat three or four bites of something and then when I have another all the sudden it hurts. I have not found when to stop? It's not like they're large amounts i'm not sure how or when you can actually sit and eat a small meal. Sometimes I wonder if it will ever be possible. I just make sure I don't go out where other people are eating because eating a few bites is strange. So the one recommendation I have is to take a few bites very slowly. I still have a tendency I think to eat faster than I should and you will get pain if you do. Walking 1 to 2 miles a day. Hoping for the best . -

phase 2 if you cant tolerate protein shakes... any idea on what to do?
JennsinCA replied to Castle coburg's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I bought Genepro unflavored protein powder from Amazon and I love it. So far I have mixed it in broth, refried beans, pudding, and my all time favorite lite and fit greek yogurt. 2 yogurts a day and I am able to get 84gm of protein in. It has been a life saver since I am so sick of shakes -
Icky Protein Drinks!

Syntrax nectar is far superior to these. GENEPRO unflavored, as well. However, Not sure if you can buy these locally. I had to purchase online. -
Unjury & Opurity - Where to Buy?
wannaBthinsoon replied to gin765's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
The website is best. Just a tip though, the unflavored isn't unflavored at all. Try GENEPRO unflavored. I've told so many people about it, there will probably be a shortage! lol
