    Liver shrink Diet

Just liquids.. no foods allow..only yogurt jello Popsicles broth and the protein shakes... I don't know how I will be able to do it.. but I will with God helps..we got this...

    I HATE broth!!!

Campbell’s well yes sipping soups (no chunks to strain!) thinned a bit were lifesavers for me even though I like broth. Also, try a no sugar added sorbet or frozen yogurt. FYI- pudding and jello are on the full liquid diet (along with things like milkshakes for non-WLS patients) because they have a tendency to become liquid if left out at room temperature which makes them easier to digest and swallow (important for those with dysphagia [trouble swallowing]).
  4. When I was in weightloss mode, I pretty much stuck to greek yogurt or protein shake for breakfast every day. In maintenance, I've expanded a little, but am still pretty boring! Shake, bar, yogurt or 1/2 breakfast sandwich.
  5. First thing I have is water and I do take my multi on an empty stomach...wait 15 mins then have breakfast. Bfast is usually oikos triple zero yogurt. I was a breakfast eater prior to surgery but sometimes unnecessarily restricted myself and called it intermittent fasting. It was miserable for me.
  6. Dihydrogen Monoxide... don't get out of bed with out good old H2O! (water) After that it varies depending on my mood. Could be a protein drink or greek yogurt with fruit and chia seeds, or eggs (I hate eggs but sometimes I forget, like this morning). Sometimes I have cheese and ham in a low carb wrap toasted in a pan.

    Purée and stall?

It doesn't feel like the weight took a while to pack on. I feel like I could gain 2lbs just looking at a cheeseburger. This "stall" feels horrible and I'm kind of feeling like a fool. To go through surgery and be limiting myself to water, cottage cheese, tuna, yogurt, ice pops, bland scrambled eggs, etc.....basically absolutely nothing with any real flavor, and be stalled out at 322lbs? Totally unacceptable.

    Allergic to artificial sweetener

I don't have this issue but maybe you could focus on savory items? Like bone broth? I know some people have their tastes change a lot after surgery and don't like the taste of sweets/artificial sweeteners so there are definitely savory options. It will be harder though because a lot of low-carb stuff is artificially sweetened. There are also unflavored protein powders - I've heard Genepro is good. I haven't had my surgery yet so I don't have too many suggestions. What about plain greek yogurt with just berries in it (I like frozen blueberries because they're sweeter and cheaper than fresh berries and last longer). Hint water is not sweetened and you could probably make some popsicles out of it instead of the sugar free kind. PB2 - I think some kinds don't have sweetener in it. OH... just saw you're in Australia. Not sure of the brands they have there. I was in Australia Feb 2020 and I ate a lot of junk food. Maybe you could google the brands I mentioned so you know what it is and then see you have there that's similar?
  9. I love that yogurt! I’m concerned, though, because they aren’t showing the caramel apple pie flavor on the web site and that’s my favorite! I hope that’s not getting discontinued.

  11. So i have to do a liver shrinking diet 2 weeks prior to surgery. Which is substituting 2 meals w/ protein drink from an approved list. 2 snacks low calorie or fat free yogurt, cottage cheese or 1/2 of fruit and 1 meal consisting of 4 oz lean protein and vegetables. Except corn, sweet potatoes, lima beans and potatoes. 64 oz of water. I should have no problems because i basically been eating this was since February.
  12. It's usually yogurt. That's my last snack before bed.

    I'm Losing My Mind

So, I use myfitnesspal.com and you can set that up pretty easily, but it does sometimes feel overwhelming because they have such a huge database so when you look up "boneless skinless chicken thigh" there might be 30 options. They're all about the same, just different brands, but if it's a single ingredient, the differences are so small it doesn't really matter. Just enter in the ingredient by weight in grams or ounces, or if it's like a banana or a cucumber, it might say "1 medium banana" or "1 8 inch cucumber". You can also enter that you eight 1/2 or .25 of the banana or cucumber. If you have a brand name ingredient, like you bought " Dannon light and fit greek yogurt" you can just type that in and up it comes! And it usually doesn't matter what flavor you chose, because almost always all the flavors have the same nutrition. However if you actually got Chobani greek yogurt, that might have twice as many calories/carbs because that's sweetened with sugar instead of artificial sugar. Hope that helps!

    Sauces

I just thought of buffalo sauce in with my greek yogurt ranch... if you like buffalo chicken.

    Sauces

I absolutely did. Light mayo or greek yogurt=plain chicken salad. Taco seasoning=Mexican. Curry powder=Asian. Chicken bullion powder=chicken and gravy. Cajun seasoning=Jambalaya. No sugar added tomato sauce+garlic+onion+oregano=Italian. Obviously, I ate a LOT of chicken. But changing it up all the time made the chopped chicken or puree tolerable. PS-Try Everything bagel seasoning or guacamole seasoning too.
  16. I was shopping at my local grocery store yesterday and came across this yogurt. It seems to be a little thicker than dannon light & fit, but it tastes good. I was only able to find 3 flavors. Anybody else had this yogurt?
  17. Even if you wanted to know what the amount you can comfortable eat would be there's too many variables. Like if you have eaten or drank recently it might be less. If you eat a denser food like chicken you might only be able to eat 1/3 of a cup or a single egg for a long time but you can eat a full cup of a "slider" food like yogurt in 5 minutes without issue. It is best to not push it and initially follow the recommended limits and pay attention to your body as you may get a feeling like a runny nose or ache before you get to the sick, too full feeling. That was my guide early on.

    Sauces

I was going to suggest the “ranch dressing” as well made with a couple tablespoons of the dry ranch mix @jnfinney mentioned with an individual Greek yogurt. Also a little bit of Vidalia onion dressing mixed in adds another flavor and one other I would love if I could get past the looks of it is to mix in avocado and Greek yogurt (I assume you can have avocado but you should ask to be certain).

    Sauces

I am a mayo person and have used low-fat mayo. Some other ideas are plain greek yogurt, mustard... greek yogurt makes a really nice base for "dressings." I've made ranch before with a dry ranch packet and a container of plain greek yogurt.

    Puree food help

I pretty much lived on scrambled eggs and cottage cheese (often with a little soft fruit like mandarin orange). Luckily, these are both things I like. Other things I had less often but still liked were mexican type dishes with refried beans, sauce, and soft cheeses and greek yogurt.

    Puree food help

Our plans may not be the same, but added sugar is a no-no on my plan, fruit is ok for me but only in small quantities right now. I'm almost at the end of my 3 weeks on pureed foods. This is what I've been living on: refried beans with a little cheese and Valentina sauce egg salad, replacing mayo with cottage cheese (more protein plus my tummy doesn't like mayo right now) soft poached eggs or soft scrambled eggs tuna salad (I don't mind pureed tuna) also made with cottage cheese protein shakes (I still need them to meet protein goals most days) Homemade chili, blended up (it's good!) with greek yogurt as sour cream My version of ricotta bake with made with cottage cheese instead ( I don't like ricotta) "tuna melt bake". This is just ricotta bake with mashed tuna added. I like tuna melts and it was a change of pace mashed banana with Pb2 (not my favorite, but still ok) Baked yam mixed into greek yogurt with PB2 added (tastes better than it sounds) plain cottage cheese

    Cauliflower Mac n cheese

Just seen a super easy recipe for cauliflower mac & cheese. It’s one head of cauliflower, a quarter cup of Greek yogurt, a half cup of cheddar cheese, salt and pepper and parsley. as you probably guessed you just boil the cauliflower and then salt and pepper then add Greek yogurt and cheddar cheese until it’s melted and parsley on top. I can’t wait to try this it’s some thing I can actually have on the soft food diet and I can use fat free cheese to make it even better for me.
  23. Lol - I will have to try the banana trick. Cant have coffee yet. But have been crushing the pill with a meat tenderizer and mix it with plain yogurt and peanut butter powder just to make it somewhat tolerable. I even tried blending it in a little bit of milk but that was a fail. It’s sad when taking a vitamin is the worst part of the day...
