  5. So I'm sitting here on the couch watching the Saturday morning news (Living the dream, I know)... I thought I'd check in here, so I reached over and grabbed the laptop... Opened it, signed in and have been sitting here checking you all out and commenting in my usual inimitable style... All of a sudden, I realize that I've been sitting here for half an hour with the laptop actually in my lap.. MY LAP??? When did I get A LAP?? Oh yeah!!! Listen up b*tches - NSV or not, I HAVE A LAP!!! Anyway, that's all... Go back to your... Whatever y'all are doing at this time of day/night... I'm going out for a LAP DANCE!!!
  6. One of the things that has happened to me with loosing weight is that I no longer just completely and utterly HATE myself. So the other day my dad was playing around with his phone and I noticed him holding it up like he was going to take a picture of me. So I just smiled and he took the picture. Then this happened: dad: "wow" me: "what?" dad: "you actually let me take your picture" and then it hit me. Before, if I ever saw someone pointing a camera/phone in my direction I would put my hands up or walk away or just say please don't take my picture. I couldn't stand someone taking a picture of me but now I didn't even think about it, just smiled for the camera

    NSV and my boss

Well, my higher boss hasn't really seen me in about a month. He saw me today and told me I need to stop losing weight because he has to squint now to see me. He said he was looking for me the other day and said he must have missed me because who he was looking for was someone that didn't even resemble who I am now. He said it's a good thing I talk a lot or he'd never know I was around. Ha! Because I know him so well, I took it as a compliment that he intended it to be.
  9. First of all, great start and welcome to the losers bench. Secondly, be prepared to stall periodically. Stay off the scale, I know its tempting, but it will cause you all kind of unnecessary angst. As far as keeping the husband (or anyone) posted on your actual weight...that's your call. IMHO, if its going to cause you to question that you are not LOSING ENOUGH then I would keep the numbers to yourself. We don't lose at the same pace. There are stalls, and times where nothing makes the numbers drop on the scale. Measure yourself now, you may lose inches (NSV) those are THE best losses: smaller jeans, better fitting bras, etc. You may lose 20lbs this month and 12 next month and 25 the following month - stalls happen. Good luck!
  10. It's official I have now crossed over from the plus/woman's world side of the store back to misses I am wearing a "L" top still "XL" pants but getting there. I know these are "good problems to have" or at least that's what everyone's telling me. So if I'm normal size does this mean I'm "normal" now? Well I still have about 40 lbs to goal but I haven't seen this size in a VERY long time. Not since 2002. Just thought I'd share so you post ops will know what's in store for you. And the answer to the question is "no" I'm not and never will be "normal" but I'm me. And a happier healthier version of me. And I'm more interesting than normal anyday

wonderful NSV! one of the things I'd like when I get to a normal weight is to be able to be a passenger with the husband. comfortably. We need more time away from the teenagers.

    Gloves come off?

Also, as a bonus, no one is throwing buckets of water on you as you lay down in the sand. Congratulations on your successful weight loss/keeping the weight off and NSVs.

I am so happy went walking today and did 5.3k in one hour without stopping once and didn't run out of breath. Something I would have never done before. Can't wait for the 5k color run. [iMG][/img] Sent from my LGMS330 using the BariatricPal App

By request - BigViffer Workout Routine

Hey guys - I wanted to post an update to this thread. Another NSV for me. The deadlift is a damned hard exercise for several reasons. First off, you are lifting dead weight off the floor. Secondly form is so incredibly important in order to avoid injury. That is paramount to me since my entire weight issue started with an injury. Well I am happy to say that today I set a personal best deadlift record; 185lbs! Back feels good as do my knees. Sure my legs are tired, but there is no pain. I am roughly 25lbs from my deadlift goal of my body weight. I should totally be able to accomplish that by my year two anniversary. Hopefully my pull-up will fall into line soon too!
  15. What a wonderful NSV!! Congrats!! Sent from my HTC One M9 using the BariatricPal App
  16. I am 16 months out and down 140 lbs. I went from 334 to 194 and LOVE IT! It has been brought to my attention that I no longer look like the woman I used to be. Some say I look younger, others say it looks like it could be my sister but definitely not me.. I love it! I feel like a different person too. There are so many things I can do that I never did before (as I sit with my knees to my chest on the couch comfortably while typing this... ummm can you say MAJOR NSV?????) I would like to lose another 10 lbs or so but I am totally happy where I am now. Feel free to share your face to face pictures below!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    NSV: Half Marathon!

what a great mom/son experience and an awesome NSV!
  19. This morning I finished 13.1 miles and it was AMAZING!!!! Celebrating 145lbs lost so far....I was able to run with my son on Friday in the Disney kids races and then able to finish my half marathon race today! Tough, emotional, painful....but so rewarding. Highly recommend the RunDisney for anyone looking into racing. This was my second attempt at a half marathon. The picture on the left was about 2 years ago and maybe 80/90lbs heavier. I only made it to mile 9 and my body gave out. Still an amazing experience but nothing on what it felt like today crossing that finish line!
  20. @@mnopali - those are all NSVs and they are the best! WELCOME to BP!

    A Motorcyclist NSV

I put this in the Guy's Room only because I don't think the women will care. I finally got to ride my motorcycle today for about 3 hours instead of just down the road and back. I have a 2010 VFR1200 sport touring bike. Don't let that touring part fool you, a VFR is not an "old man's" bike: Anyway... This bike has 170 hp and 100 ft/lbs of torque. Do you know what that feels like when you take off? It feels like someone is trying to push you off the bike. Now imagine that you weigh 120lbs less than when you bought the bike! Now it feels like someone is trying to pull my arms out of my shoulders! But seriously guys, riding the bike is so much easier now than it was just last year. When you aren't trying to force 330lbs through a sharp corner things are a lot less scary. First of all, your tires have better traction. Second, it's like going from 2-up riding back to 1-up. Can't wait to start racking up the miles this year! Oh, and if you ride - post a pic. Doesn't matter what you ride as long as your knees are in the breeze.
  22. I can wear my daughters size 2 dress!!! No way I could have done this with my old boobs and stomach NSV!!!!
  23. While getting dressed a couple of weeks ago, I noticed a hard lump in the sternum area between my breasts. I had my 3 month post op visit coming up, so I figured maybe it was from my hiatal hernia repair and I'd ask about it at my post op visit. I went yesterday and told her about the bump. She said that wouldn't be from my hernia, so she'd better take a look at it. The hard bump is my sternum, I just had so much fat tissue there for so long that I had forgotten what it felt like. I practically had myself signed up for chemo after reading WebMD! The internet can be the devil lol Sent from my XT1565 using the BariatricPal App

Feeling like a fraud in the "misses" clothes section

girl! lol totally posted that as an nsv a few months ago! it was indeed a wonderful feeling

    NSV

I had three NSV last week. A shirt I ordered deliberately too small fit, my work clothes are too large now and don't need safety pins to hold the shirt closed, and my jeans that I'd bought 2 years ago and barely fit then, now require a belt. I'd thought after being sleeved 3/1 that I'd be further than 37 lbs down (especially after losing 28 the first week)... But these NSV's are keeping me going for now. Sent from my iPhone
