    So Freakin Psyched!

I guess this is a combination of a fitness post & a NSV. Did a 5K on Sunday, well, my version of "wogging" .... a combination of fast walking and slow jogging. Managed to not only PR with a time of just under 40 minutes, but it was also my very first sub 13minute mile pace!!!! Ok, ok, not MUCH under a 13mm, but it started with a 12 and that is all that matters, right!?!?! Yay me!

    NSV: Bathing Suit

@@Inner Surfer Girl You go!!!! Had to do the dreaded bathing suit shopping myself last week & it wasn't TOO painful. How awesome is it to shop right off the rack and not have to try every single thing on?!?! LOVE these kind of NSVs!

    A Motorcyclist NSV

Not a NSV, but I thought my fellow riders would like to see this pic. A friend of mine was running at the ECTA Mile in Wilmington OH this weekend. Was hoping for 200+ mph, but sadly fell short and only hit 190 something. His bike is a 2006 Kawasaki ZX-14 with 33K miles! The dude rides all the time!
  5. NSV!!!! love those, and you look so awesome (and happy) in those 12s

    NSV shout outs

Yes!!!! The bending over to pick something up in the car is a huge NSV! I can't get over looking down and seeing so much of the car seat, too! Today, we went out for Breakfast. My husband and son know to let me always pick my seat first (I have a thing about not wanting my back to people - probably an issue from being so self - conscious all these years). One side of the table was really tight to the folks sitting at the next table. In the past, I would have made my son sit there. Today, I slipped in easily and let my big guys have the roomy other side!

    NSV shout outs

I have so many NSV to report. I fit comfortably on a plane this week, more than comfortable. I fit perfectly in a cheap seat on a cheap plane and a flight that was several hours was very comfortable. I used to fly 5-6 days a week in my old management job at over 300 pounds. I was always fine in first class but if I had to ride coach, or on a small plane it was torture. This is one of the main things I was looking forward to and it felt so good. This is something I can think about when temptation knocks. No food can ever feel better than the joy of flying to me. I can fit in any booth at any resturant. I think I have said it before but it is still important. I can walk up stairs in front of my date and not be winded when I get out the top and keep a great pace. Walked all day with my date. No foot pain, could keep walkng, and I did it 4 inch heels. Walked through the airport in 4 inch heels, felt good and kept pace with other people. Sat in the car with my seat belt on and lotioned, my legs easily and comfortably. Dropped the lotion and picked it up. Before I could have never bent over and easily done these things. It was effortless. In the past I would taken my seat belt off and not been able to bend straight over. My postoperative life is really amazing. I can't express how much joy three little victories bring me. They make it all worth it. Forgot something, was able to go not any store and buy a replacement. Went to a Soma store out of town, bought a bra, told the lady fitting me all about my surgery and how she might be able to afford it.

  16. I was sleeved 4/18. And now I don't have any bladder leakage or urge incontinence. I've been battling with this for a long time. Tried surgery and all types of meds with no relief. And suddenly it went away after my wls. I'm so elated. I hope it stays this way. Has anyone else experienced this? Sent from my SM-G930T using the BariatricPal App

How Did You Decide On A Goal Weight?

My goal is to get down to 130 pounds, my former weight when I was 18-21. Even at those ages I was very sedentary. So if I can get toned and go back to wearing size 10, it'll be a NSV for me. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G925A using the BariatricPal App

    NSV: Bathing Suit

@@Inner Surfer Girl fantastic feeling, yes? I did the same last month and after being required to get my suits online, it is liberating and worth celebrating. I can't wait until you post about you surfing as a NSV - it will happen! And you'll be in a cute swimsuit to boot!
  22. Montana Gal

    NSV: Bathing Suit

The first NSV is that you walked into a store to shop for one in the first place!! The second NSV is that it fit and I bet you looked amazing....congratulations @Innersurfergirl, it is a big deal!
  23. Having gone from 245 to 145 in less than a year I am so happy and thankful! However the scale doesn't reflect everything right my friends....So I love this topic because it gets us thinking about the awesome perks of losing weight beyond the scale! Here's my update : 1. My wedding ring is falling off - need a re- size 2. My pants never seem "tight enough" how many of us felt like our pants were previously cutting off our circulation ? Lol 3. I get complimented on my clothing by strangers .... Never happened before as I was always wearing frumpy clothes to cover up 4. Strangers in stores ask me " are you always this happy" .... Even though they don't know why- you guys get it .... " yes!!! Yes I am" 5. Finally - only regret .... Why the heck didn't I do this sooner ! Lovin life again
  24. @@Womanvsmirror and @@cat.jackson89 I would recommend measuring yourself too. The best NSV is when I can put on smaller clothing. When I stall for a week or two the inches are usually dropping when the scale hasn't moved.
  25. Just wanted to share this- Pre surgery, I cooked up a STORM for my family of 5, which includes two teenaged boys who EAT. And eat. My kids will bypass fast food any day for a home cooked meal. They actually prefer it, along with fruits and veggies. So, being a typical mom, I didn't want them eating garbage while I was recovering. My lovely mom even contributed to my stockpiled freezer. My family had meals for 4 entire weeks. Last week I was moved to a general diet and finally blew through all the cooked frozen meals. Here's the kicker- I have been cooking all of those meals once again, and I'm ok with it. I really didn't think I would be able to, knowing there were things I could not eat at this point. But I did. And have enjoyed it. So, a different kind of NSV, but exciting nonetheless. Even made Desserts. Didn't want a single bite of any of it either.
