Calling all March 05 bandsters!
vinesqueen replied to Madeline's mom's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
well, I haven't lost any weight since July, and I've been very depresses about it. I have tried to be the model bandster, but I just can't get the scale to move. I'd gotten down to 242, but I gained weight some how and now I'm back at 248. Talk about depressing. The only reason I've got the 35 to my name that I count the weight I've lost since my all time high. I still feel like fraud... I have lost a lot of inches though, so that's a good thing. I also have 46 NSVs so that's the only thing that keeps me going. -
Hi Jamie, I can't believe it's been 6 months for us both, while I am not losing as quickly as you, I am losing slowly. I think I'm down another 8lbs but I will wait till it's official, I see my doctor every 7-8 weeks. I have a lot of NSV's, lower blood pressure, size 22 instead of 28, when I go to the doctors to get my blood pressure taken my upper arm fits in the normal size cuff. I'm excercising 4-5 times a week on my treadmill for at least 40 mins, and I don't binge any more! At my third fill they brought me up to 1.85cc, I was tight, tight, tight, I was vomiting to much and too many sore throats, so they brought me down to 1.65cc, this seems to be comfortable for me, I will be staying at this fill level for a while.

So, I just hit 100 pounds down today. So happy of the progress I've made. To top it all off, I made a NSV, running a whole mile, and in under 12 minutes, too. I don't think I've done that ever, even in middle school. Pictures in my gallery, yall

Hi all, Start 187 Last Week 186 Yesterday 184  It is moving along. I keep thinking it will stop anytime because I can't exercise (I ruptured the medial band of my plantar fascia or in English I hurt my foot ). I have an NSV as well - I just got into 16s at the end of September and have been given a closet full but they are ALL getting too big! YEAH!!! Maybe people will give me money for clothes for Christmas! I think they feel sorry for me wearing my baggy clothes but I don't want to spend lots of money on clothes I will only wear for a couple of months.

Wow - very interesting stuff. Congratulations on your NSVs!! LOL... love the "you don't need to look so happy about breaking down someones door" comment! Thanks for all you do as a first responder too - communities need dedicated paramedics like you. -
Well folks my weightloss hasn't been as great as ya'll but I have to tell you I had a (for me) huge NSV yesterday:scared: . I was able to work in my garden with my DH and do everything I wanted to do. :heh: Now granted I have lost about 30 poundish in weight:omg: . But it has already impacted what I am able to do in my daily activities.:clap2: It is really amazing.:girl_hug: TTYL. Myra

2 Great NSVs, new image of ourselves
Banterwonder posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
1.The deli manager whose store I have frequented for many years, did a triple take yesterday! He said he almost did not recognize me !. Until I placed my regular order ! Made me smile and feel great all week long ! 2. I was talking to a colleague who I speak to about once every 2 weeks. As we were chatting, I realized that she didn't know who she was talking to !!! She said she didn't recognize me until she heard my voice! I think sometimes we cannot see our "new " selves. -
Woo hoo ! Way to go ! Keep up the good work ! Since you asked for "1st NSVs " , if I remember correctly, I had also lost my first 19 lbs, and an aquaintance who hadnt seen me in a few months asked me "Have you lost weight ? You look thinner in the face ! ". WOW. That made my day ! That , and cleaning out my closet with bags and bags of too big clothes !! Now, THAT was fun !!

Awesome NSV as each one cones the feeling is great . Slow and steady wins the race you are doing this great job !

The dreaded 3 week stall strikes again!! You are NOT done losing weight!! Don't even let yourself think that! This is a great time to take your measurements and see if you are losing inches. If you didn't take them before surgery, then do it now and watch those inches shrink! I lost my first pants size during a stall. I was frustrated by the darn scale and, while I was getting dressed one morning, my pants fell off my booty! That's when I realized that there are lots of NSVs (non-scale victories) to be found. If your clothes are getting bigger and you are more able to do things, then you are still getting the benefits of the sleeve, even if the scale isn't moving. Remember that muscle weighs more than fat. It's definitely true! If you are exercising, even walking and very light weights, then you are building muscle. Even if it's a tiny bit of exercise, it's more than you were doing before surgery and your body responds very quickly to that little bit of exercise. Believe me, I don't work out intensly and I'm seeing HUGE results from my 30 minutes of walking per day and my 3 pound hand weights 3 times a week! At just over 5 months out, I'm seeing definition in my arms and legs, plus my weight is redistributing itself into more feminine lines, instead of the sponge-bob squarepants look I had before! Put the scale away, get out your measuring tape and work on drinking your Water. You will start losing again, and very quickly! Good luck!!
-
Definitely, definitely, definitely STOP WORRYING If you search past (and even current) posts here you will read about the dreaded week 3 stall....there is even one by me!!!! You have to keep in mind that after losing so much weight so quickly your body needs time to adjust to that weight. I will also tell you that stressing out over it can make it worse. Just keep doing what you're doing and TRY not to focus on the number on the scale....it's just a number!!! Instead, focus on the NSV's (non-scale victories). When I hit the 3 week stall (which lasted 2 weeks BTW), I took my measurements and even though I hadn't lost ANY weight in two weeks, I had lost several inches....proof that the scale can, at times, be my worst enemy!! So, don't beat yourself up....you're doing great!!!!

Hehe. My sleep study is tonight....
MrsG replied to Cheer Mama's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had severe sleep apnea which they found during my sleep study. I needed a bipap machine and I did use it. I had it for after surgery which helped in recovery. That was 1/15 (my surgery) and since then I've lost 80lbs and was able to get off of it! Total NSV for me! -
female only NSV - My smaller jeans are saggy in the butt!
sharkgirl posted a topic in The Gals' Room
I just wish I was losing in my stomach instead of my butt. Guess I should stop feeling so frustrated about the scale because I am obviously getting smaller. I had to share with you guys because very few people in my life know about the surgery and my hubby said he wanted a picture to validate my claim. -
Why my 3mo stall is an NSV and other misc. ramblings from the half glass full girl!
newat52 replied to LipstickLady's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Right there with you girl! I have been stuck for almost 2 months. I've eeked out about 3 lost in that time but usually the same up and down. Although, I've been on vacation twice in the 2 months for a week at at time so there were some splurges. Not on really bad things like bread, Pasta, and processed carbs ( it's my promise to my self to not go there till the end of the year) but on some wine and skinny girl margaritas so I can get the stall from that respect. However, the inches are still coming off. my 12 shorts are getting looser and have tried on 10's but won't buy them. Although short season here in Texas lasts till Oct. but that's only another month and I do get a cheap thrill out of jacking up my britches from time to time. I'm easily amused that way. My closet is getting emptier by the day and I love it! I look forward to when I get to my goal and fill it back up with cute and stylish clothes. Black will no longer be the mainstay of my color pallet. I will have a little black dress though! I am making excellent choices most of the time and It is becoming a natural thing to do. That is the NSV for me. Ice cream? Not even tempted, the way I feel now feels WAY better than ice cream. Last week I'm on the plane on the way home, sitting there playing the the huge extra amount of seat belt material, who know it could be so entertaining? Later in the flight, I realize I am sitting with my legs crossed WITH the tray table down! How freaking cool is that? I didn't even know that was possible! I honestly have ZERO regrets and yes, we are still on the honeymoon and I fully realize the hard work really kicks in when we get to goal and have to maintain for the rest of our lives. I'm sure I will moan and complain from time to time, but I am 100% sure it will be worth the work! I'm SO happy for you and I know exactly how you feel!
