Warm Weather NSV
Montana Gal replied to Sophie74656's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I hear you @@jintycb!! I was lulled in as well. Almost planted my flowers and garden then out of nowhere winter came back to Montana! Congratulations @@Sophie74656, that's a great NSV! -
gingy, I think anything that makes you feel better is an NSV. I would even have to classify the smoking thing up to a SUPER NSV since it will have such a positive impact on your health!!! WTG girl!! WTG all the knockouts!!

Awesome NSV's 40. I vented a little last night to my man because no one that I work with has commented on my weight loss... Well, finally today, one of the guys I work with said, WOW, look at you, what's going on?! Now, I feel a little better. While I was venting to my man last night his comment was, "Well, they don't get to see you naked:thumbup:"! He He He... I'm just so tall that 40 pounds doesn't show much, which was a blessing when I was heavier, I guess...

Knockouts - y'all are awesome!! I LOVE hearing these!! My NSV for the week - I went shopping, looking for new pants - it was pretty crappy weather (rain/snow) and I was on my bike, but I had layers on and was warm and I was LOVING IT...I was so muddy and blasting thru every puddle - it was so FUN!!! Outside Sears, I had a guy in a WHEELCHAIR tell me that me being on my bike in the rain was an awful way to get around that day...Excuse me? UR serious? UR in a wheelchair? I was so estatic that I could even MOVE, that I could even get around....last summer I had constant back pain, there's no way I would have even had enough ambition to do that! Never did find any pants I liked?!?! Just think.... where was everyone at 1 year ago today???? I know I was so so unhappy and miserable.....

I had a new NSV this weekend. I fit into size 22 jeans. The scale, it sure isn't moving for me, but knowing the I am in jeans a size smaller is helping!! ~Amy

You guys are doing so well! I've shrunk completely out of most of my bottoms (underwear even fell down once--fortunately I was wearing pants!), so I went shopping last week. I bought all 16Ws! Along with 2 14/16 shirts from LB! I'm not a 16W in everything, and I'm definitely still an 18/20 in most tops, but it's so awesome to be getting into smaller sizes again. Other NSVs: --I took 4 flights last week and had room to spare on the seatbelt on every flight! --I can cross my legs again!! --Everyone keeps asking me if I've changed my hair and telling me it looks great. Thing is, I *have* changed it recently, but I don't think that's the only reason I'm getting compliments. Keep it up, everyone! It's not easy, but it's soooo worth it!

My NSV - I am going out on a date tonight and for the 1st time EVER I am not totally fixiated on how fat I am....I have a great outfit put together, and I'm going for the company, the experience, the environment and to have a great time! OMG - is this confidence?!?! I can't remember what that felt like?!?!?

Hey everyone, I think we need a thread for us January's to share all of our NSV's! We've had a couple separate postings from different people, but I thought I would start a thread dedicated to NSV's. I have always enjoyed going back and reading people's NSV's a few times. So ... let'er rip!

Awesome news, I also think I am making muscle out of fat, and slowly loosing weight, mucscle does weigh more then fat. Clothes are fitting now instead of stretching to fit. Keepup the good work! Love those NSV

My wedding rings are really loose! Not loose enough to fall off yet, but I find I have to pay attention to them more if they are in water, and take them off when giving the kids a bath. also, my husband said the other night while we were cuddling it was like holding onto a different person. I have (only) lost 22lbs. The NSV's are what keep me going.

NSV's are fantastic but I do have to say that medically related NSV's are AMAZING. Very awesome seajules!:biggrin2:

My newest NSV's I had 3 different guys tell me how nice I looked yesterday, 2 of which I don't associate with all the time. Today I'm wearing a pair of misses 16 sized pants. I bought them about a week and a half ago and they were tight. Now they are just right... but the scale hasn't moved. So weird??

Great job everyone! Red, I could totally relate to your post, everything that you mentioned about fitting into seats and seatbelts on the plane! That is SO ME! I went on vacation about a month before my surgery to LA to visit my sister and I couldn't even fasten the seatbelt without an extender and thank goodness my husband was next to me so I didn't intrude on a stranger's space! The thing I kept telling myself the whole time was, "this is it, this is the last time I am going to EVER have this problem!". So far my only realized NSV is that my clothes seem to be growing! Pants and sleeves seem to be getting longer! No new size yet, but my 28s were starting to get tight before surgery so I think it will be a couple more months before I will be ready for new stuff, and, like many others, I have a closet full of work clothes I love, but can't wear so I am looking forward to awakening some "new" outfits! Great job to everyone, I can't wait to read more!

LOL.. I would say that's a NSV!!!! Girl, i don't have a whole lot to start with, but I'll sacrifice this gut for it!... I've gone down a FEW cup sizes pre-op.. I'm VERY scared about that!!!
-
That's definitely a NSV and by the way... CONGRATULATIONS - LOL! Seems like all of the "Bs" disappear with the weight loss... booty, boobs, bumps, and bulges. :biggrin2:

Congratulations. Great NSV!!! -
For the past couple nights I have been awakened because my knees hurt. Last night I suddenly realized they hurt because there is no fat cushion between them when I sleep on my side & the bones are pressing against each other. LOL. Wish the fact was coming off my stomach, but I'll take it.

Hopefully November will be a good month for you so that you can gain some strength and start to feel better. The issue of dehydration is never going away because we can drink so little at one time. You just have to keep at it. Like mbrinmn says, leave drinks about the about the house. It works for me, too, and I alsways take a bottle in the car. Just last month I had a go-round with vomiting and diarrhea one night, and passed out in the bathroom twice.....hitting my head on the tub - twice, and ended up in the ER on IV fluids. keep your fluids up anyway you can, even if you have to resort to sugar free Gelatin or popsicles. Also, it took a few days to get the post-op weight loss going because I came home from the hospital 8 pounds heavier than when I went in. So, I had to lose that IV Fluid weight first. Hmmm, you could write yourself a letter about how you feel right now about your complications and your NSVs (non-surgical victories) both the good and the doubtful, and then put it away for a couple of years. Then look back and see what advice you would give to yourself now, and how you would cheer yourself up. -
In other news I am not dead.
MINI-Me replied to crosswind's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Glad to hear you aren't dead. Is that considered a NSV? -
NSV = Non scale Victory! Way to go! The best NSV's are the ones where our significant others are the ones to realize it. Well done!

My double chin is now a chin and a neck.I can cross my legs.I can reach my shoes to tie them. I don't mind looking in the mirror, as much.People notice. My rings are too big.My lanyard hangs all the way to my belly button. My ankle has less and less pain everyday. My PCOS has resolved. The seatbelt in my car doesn't cut my neck.I have become an inspiration to others! Its amazing what you gain when you lose! Thanks for reading, I'd love to hear some of your lists!
