Try the clear protein drinks if you can. Good one is Premier Protein Clear, have also done protein 2 0 and even Ensure has a clear ones a little less protein but passable. Also try cutting your shakes half-strength with skim milk, sure it make take longer, but we all use these tricks if necessary. Sir protein powder in your protein fluids, add it where you can. For a shor5 while I even drank skim milk with a scoo0 of Genepro in it.And you wIll make it through.

Can you have strained soups? Split pea soup with a scoop of genepro protein powder has been great for me as well as the ricotta cheese bake recipe that everyone talks about. Lap band 10/2007 revised to RNY 12/22/2017 HW 270 SW 263 CW 253

Postop diet advice
Dogmom68 replied to Michele 2021's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
First of all, congratulations on your weight loss! 25 lbs is great! However, I do understand how you feel when your weight loss slows or stalls. What I did recently was cut back on dairy and carbs and started incorporating more healthy fats like avocado and green olives. I even started drinking bulletproof coffee in the morning. (Coffee with a teaspoon of Kerrygold unsalted butter. Trust me, you can’t taste it.) I stopped drinking protein shakes and use GenePro protein powder to supplement my protein levels. I use MyFitnessPal app to track my macros and keep tabs on how many calories I’m eating. I can’t exercise very well because of a spine condition but I try to stay very active around the house doing chores, etc… Watch your sugar/carb intake through yogurt and oatmeal. Try switching to boiled eggs in the morning. These are things that have worked for me. I know everybody is different but these are just suggestions. Just thought I would share. Take it one day at a time, listen to what your body tells you, and keep going! You CAN do this!!! -
Genepro lost a lawsuit over misleading labeling regarding the protein content. It never had 30 grams of protein in 7 grams of product. The "new" Genepro is the same product without the falsification.

Bob, I work for he federal government in an agency that regulates food. cynthiarm2000, I admire you for eating the way you do. I would very much like to be eating organic...grass fed...ethically treated...minimally processed...uncured.. ...foods. I would like to have my own chickens, so I know they are humanely treated in the eggs I eat. Unfortunately, I don't have the money to purchase organic, grass-fed, ethically treated products. They do cost more than the factory farmed ones in the grocery store. Working full time, I don't have the time to raise my own chickens. How has my identity changed since surgery? I'm now called "skinny". I concentrate on getting my Water in, Protein in, taking supplements, getting regular exercise and doing things one day at a time. I try not to preach weight loss surgery to those I am so tempted to prosleytize to. I know that people have to come to their own decision about weight loss surgery, since it is highly personal and everyone is different. Before surgery, I ate whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted. Now I have to do a considerable amount of planning regarding what I will eat, when I will eat it and how I will prepare it. Because I am not a cook, work full time and have a busy life, I live on GENEPRO Protein powder and Quest bars right now. I would like to do more cooking when I retire in 7 years. I hope to raise chickens in 7 years but I'm thinking that may change too. I would like to travel when I retire as well. Having chickens to take care of and traveling don't work well together. I think you'll find some adjustments to your occupation as a "food guy" but I wonder if it may give you an opportunity as well. You will be in a position to create new recipes that are high in protein and lower in carbs. IMHO there will be an opportunity in the near future for those businesses catering to people like me who are needing high protein, low carb meals. I notice advertisements are proclaiming how much protein their products have. I LOVE it when I can go to a restaurant and they have something tasty on a menu which fits into my food plan. Something that doesn't come in a HUGE portion that is high protein and low carb. I don't know if my rambling helps you or not. I wish you success with your surgery and hope you have an easy recovery. Blessings, Kathleen

Unflavored Protein Powder
Esi replied to Hlminichillo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Now that the new Genepro changed their product, I am looking for a new brand. I tried BiPro Bold and Isopure, both unflavored. Both tasted and smelled like mold and had to be discarded. Does anyone use a protein powder that is unflavored, and truly tastes and smells like nothing? -

Unflavored Protein Powder
kellym1220 replied to Hlminichillo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have used Genepro and Root Vitality Collagen powder. I bought the Collagen powder for my skin and nails (before I even considered WLS) but it does have 10 grams of protein and stirs EASILY into my hot coffee. I use Genepro (30 grams of protein) with things like protein bites, protein jello shots (not as much fun as the ones I had in college) and stirred into refried beans and other cooked items that are not boiling. -
Genepro protein powder. It’s a tablespoon of powder for 30 grams of protein! I mix it into pudding, sugar free hot chocolate, water, crystal light, oatmeal. It’s unflavored. Works great! I got it on Amazon

Can anyone recommend how to start weight training?
BigViffer replied to Jeff M.'s topic in Fitness & Exercise
Unfortunately there is no exercise, cream, or lotion that will tighten loose skin. No matter how much a marketing department claims otherwise, it just isn't possible. The only thing that would come close would be a vasoconstrictor that temporarily tightens tissue (Preperation H). The only thing that weight training can do is enlarge muscles to back fill the loss of fat. And even then, it's unlikely most of us can build that much mass. Your best bet to enlarge muscle is to do comfortable weights at a higher rep. When I say comfortable, I don't mean 5 - 10lb curls either, I mean a weight that you can finish 8-10 reps with. It still needs to be work. If strength is your goal, it is the heaviest weight you can handle safely for about 5 reps for 3 sets after warm up sets. Compound lifts like barbell squats and overhead press are ideal. If size is your goal, total volume is what you want and targeted lifts make sense. (Arm day, chest day...) Either route you take, quality protein is paramount. And that means whey concentrate or isolate. Go with your palate because the only supplement worth buying is the one you will use. Just make sure it is whey. Not casein, not pea, not soy... good old fashion whey. And not that genepro crap. -

September sleevers?
Jessnewtothis replied to Jessnewtothis's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Sorry to hear your struggling so much. There are a lot of options on what to buy. After reading lots of posts and being in some FB support groups I have kinda went with the majority and I ordered UNJURY unflavored protein packets and PB2 powder. I ordered Genepro unflavored protein powered of of Amazon. I think I would like to try the Nectar stuff but I am going to wait a bit. All these products are so expensive. I have also been using Premier Protein that you can get from Sams Club or walmart. Its a much better deal at Sam's. Don't beat yourself up. Do what you can do and if you make a mistake, get back on track again as soon as possible. Hope you enjoy your holiday. Im going on a small get away the last weekend of August myself. Will be interesting camping/boating with a bunch of people and Im suppose to be only doing shakes and veggies! -

Thanks ! Have you tried Genepro protein powder? -
I tried but I can't do protein powder... The genepro doesn't add anything and I don't feel like a real green smoothie is sweet enough on its own.

I want to succeed
NerdySongBird replied to Bunbunisdonedone's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can't stand most of the protein powders or pre mixed drinks because they're all sweet and take forever to drink so you feel like you're never meeting your protein requirements. I got Genepro it's an unflavored protein powder and you can put it in just about anything. It's a tiny scoop for 30g of protein and you can finish it in one sitting. Also walk walk walk as much as you can and it will help that gas sort itself out better. Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app -
I got the sample pack from unjury, and I only liked the strawberry sorbet. Trust what everyone says about GENEPRO. I know I seem like I'm stalking you, and you probably think I work for Genepro, but I don't. But, you can't taste it at all. Honest!

Anybody using the unflavored protein powder?
brenda1949 replied to tinatina119's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have the Genepro unflavored powder, that I mix with V-8 juice. Well it doesn't mix that well, I think it is truly unflavored. I just keep stirring and stirring and finally it dissolves. So I'm happy with it. I bought it from Amazon. -
FOOD IDEASFOR PUREED PERIOD
amylynns replied to DoraP's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was getting tired of eggs for Breakfast, so I did the smoothie the last couple mornings. I know we're not supposed to "drink" our meals as a rule, but I figured during pureed stage it's alright. I used one container of Danon Light Yogurt, then about 4-6 oz of OJ, a couple frozen strawberries and 1 scoop of my GENEPRO unflavored Protein mix. Total calories 268, total protein 44g. That'll keep me full for a while! I sipped on it for over an hour. -

Been using Genepro for some time but never had it in my coffee until just now. I was low on my Protein intake today and remembered reading your post on how to mix it so it won't clump. It turned out great! Thanks.

Those of you who have used GENEPRO, does your surgical team or Nuts approve it? I haven't found a PDCAAS score on it. It's sad that companies can make any claim on supplements and don't have to answer for it. The FDA does not regulate them. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
