That pesky 3 week stall strikes again! Measure, measure, measure! Drop kick that stupid scale! It does nothing but wreak havoc on your brain! Easier said then done...but "just do it!" Hehe
-
I third Creek and Matt's advice, increase your calories! You are already working out, which means you are burning on top of eating so little. I had the 3 week stall as well, and I didn't start losing again until I increased my calorie intake. When I started working out, I was taking in approx. 800-900 calories per day, and burning approx. 500. Now, I burn 600-700 per day and eat upwards of 1200 cal per day. I also have PCOS, but haven't had any problems with slow loss. I eat carbs as well. Obviously follow your program, but PCOS is not an automatic "death sentence" for losing.

Who got in 70g of protein today? THIS GIRL! Who got in 60oz of water today? THIS GIRL! Who KILLED their teacher demonstration today and had offers from all 4 principals? THIS GIRLLLLL! Today has been a great day! Even though I do believe I may be at the horrid 3 week stall, nothing is stopping my happiness today. I'm going out for a drink....of water! Lol

2 wks post op - plateau?
tiffnie replied to ChattyCathy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am not alone!! I am almost at 3 weeks, I lost 25 lbs the first 2 weeks then the scale just stopped moving! I was thinking wither starvation mode since I get in about 600 or so calories a day - but Im working on that - or I thought it was because I wasnt doing my 30 min walking a day, even though I do walk a lot period. Maybe it is a little of both plus the 3 week stall. Either way I dont feel so bad anymore. BTW lately I have only been getting in 30 g or so of protein daily - is this a huge deal? -

Slow weight loss 21 days post sleeve surgery
Bastian replied to mia wallace's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I lost 15kg, 33lbs in 2 weeks!! Crazy I know & I kept asking the nurses if their scales were right but I was pretty unwell. 11lbs is fantastic, Could you have lost 11lbs before surgery so easily? My loss really was due to how unwell I was and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. It was really awful and I would have rather lost 11lbs and not had the problems I had. BUT only 1kg (2.2lbs) down since lol so am having the 3-week stall too and it is SO frustrating being on so few calories and nothing is happening. It feels a bit like being on a diet pre-surgery and sticking to it yet not losing anything, so I am trying really hard to just try and trust that it will start going down again. As far as your 1 painful wound, it might just be that deeper down there is a bit of scar tissue pulling when you move a certain way, that will eventually stretch and soften up a bit and stop tugging and causing discomfort. -

Protein, Bariatric Vitamin, Stall
Bufflehead replied to Suziesue1706's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm nervous about weighing in when I get home. I don't want to hit the dreaded 3 week stall! If you stay off the scale for several weeks, you can sail through your 3 week stall without ever knowing about it. I highly recommend it! -
I am so sorry that all of this has happened to you! I really am praying for your speedy recovery. I do know that I was very tired for a long time after the surgery...about 2 months. I now am 8 months out as of tomarrow, and I can say that my energy level is threw the roof....way better than before. As for the weight loss, I only lost 18 pounds the first month, and then the second month only 4 pounds do to the 3 week stall that lasted about 2 weeks. Since then I have lost about 8 to 12 pounds a month, depending on how much I exercise and how well I stick to my eating protein and avoiding carbs. As for the blood clots, you definatly have an angel out there watching over you! Once you have lost more weight this problem of getting blood clots should go away, since being overweight increases your chances of blood clots. I will be praying for you! Best wishes and ((HUGS)) your way! I can tell you once this situation has passed you will be so happy that you did this to improve your health in the long run! again ((HUGS))

34 days out and need advice/encouragement
joy3551 replied to joy3551's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am already feeling discouraged by only losing 18 lbs in the last 34 days, and I know we are not all the same, but to be going thru all of this and not lose definitely made it harder. I went thru a 3 week stall where I didn't lose anything. -
So in week 3, I didn't lose anything. The sunday going into week 4...7 lbs down! So anyone in week 3 flipping out...don't. Week 4 will move right along. Having that said..I messed up today. I am in Protein phase and have eaten so much grilled chicken, I'm gonna be one soon! So I had a piece of jerk chicken...yes. spicy food. BAD IDEA! matter of fact..terrible idea! I feel so sick right now. It all came back up. I learned my lessson..."stay in your damn lane. Follow the diet plan". So if this describes you, or something you're thinking of doing...don't!

December Sleevers
ThinnieMinnie2B replied to kelskels13's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved 12/22. I've a total of 51lbs including the 15lbs during the 2 week pre op liquid diet. I hit the dreaded 3 week stall and it lasted a good 2-3 weeks. Super frustrating. But I can tell my body is reshaping itself, especially my tummy. I drink around 100oz of fluid a day, get in 60-70g of protein, track EVERYTHING using My Fitness Pal, and walk 2-3 miles 4-5 times a week. I've also been doing squats, lunges and other exercises to shape up my legs and booty. During the stall I would change up the foods I was eating and the exercise. It seemed to help. It can be discouraging but just remember if you're following your program you WILL lose and the sleeve will do it's job. Congrats on your 26lb loss! Best wishes! -
December Sleevers
sweetie716 replied to kelskels13's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm down 51 since surgery on Dec. 11th. I am exercising every day about 30-45 minutes and tracking everything I eat in MFP and taking my Vitamins. My 3 week stall lasted 10-11 days and I stalled last week for 6 days. I'll be 3 months out on Wednesday. I think I may be seeing a little extra hair in the brush after showers, but I'm not 100% sure yet. I have been having dreams about clumps coming out. I've been hitting protein/fluid goals since day 3 post-op. -
Check out the forums on the 3 week stall. Many of us went through this.

Is it common to not lose in 3rd week?
Djmohr replied to connorsmama's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Please search for 3 week stall. you will likely find thousands of posts. It is very common and you will likely have many more, it is your body simply taking a break from all the weight loss. Incidentally there are many points of view as to what a stall is. 5 days with no loss does not mean that you are stalled. Usually it is a couple of weeks before you can call it a real plateau. Some people stay off the scale if this bothers them. I personally was a daily weigher during the weight loss phase but i had to train myself not to get upset when i did not lose weight every day. The reality is, for the first 2 months you likely will lose alot and then after that it tapers off to a more reasonable pace. I think i averaged between 7 - 10 lbs per month. It took 18 months to lose 152lbs and the last 30 took more than 6 months alone. Be patient....it will come off. -

3 Weeks Post Gastric Sleeve Surgery And Not Losing.....
apebrown posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Im almost 3 weeks post op and started mushie foods last Sunday and so far i have gained 3 pounds !!! I dont get it.... I drink plenty of water and am only eating a handful of things like mashed potatoes, etc... I have also been very active, been to the mall like 5 times this week and have walked it for hours !! I have heard of the 3 week stall but now im gaining. For a week or so i was sitting at the same weight but now I am gaining.... Im getting so frustrated, should I go back to liquid? Or is this normal? Im so afraid of this not working, its bringing me to tears.... Please help !! -
I'm at the 3 week stall right now myself but I'm not letting the scale get me down. I HAVE noticed a visible difference and clothes are a little looser so I'm continuing with my pureed diet. I get over 60 gr of Protein a day and very little sugar but I think carbs are a little high plus I know I should be drinking even more Water. I'm also walking at least a mile a day (for an old couch potato like me this is a MAJOR accomplishment!). So I'm going to read that forum about stalls that was suggested and keep on keepin' on!! Oh, and I think I'd better get that stool softener....nuff said!! Thanks for all the advice.

I'm doing great. I've already lost 40 lb. But i hit that 3 week stall that everybody talks about. Please keep in touch and let us no how your doing.

Great post Maddie! I can honestly say that adding exercise didn't help my stalls a bit. In June I walked over 100 miles in two weeks while in France. I did lose 2 pounds, but that's not much. In July I went from 1 hour to 2-3 hours of exercise 7 days a week. I just broke a 3 week stall when I didn't lose a pound. The good news is that I know I'm building muscle and getting stronger. When the fat comes off, there will be a good muscle base and hopefully my skin will adhere to the muscle. My 6 month journey has been very frustrating but I know that I'll get to my goal when my body is ready to continue letting go.
