So, with getting married and changing my last name, I got a new drivers license. My old drivers license had the original picture on it from when I was 17 (which is years before my highest weight). Holy. Crap. http://www.joygraffix.com/holycrap.jpg I'm honestly as disgusted by this as I am excited by it.

Wow, Penni, that looks coool! Well done! The band is VERY tilted, and at that angle I suppose it should be. It runs diagonally (L to R) below the pooling stuff and looks wide and rectangular. It was neat to see my port and tubing while I was getting that done (the Upper GI) and the radiologist doc found baruim in my colon from last Saturday!! Yuk, it's still there? I also had some bile (?) in my colon so I know I had at some point eaten something that would create a bowel movement! It was below the barium though and apparently wasn't enough to "wash" it through. Here are my NSV's for recovery today: *drank about 4oz of watered down guava nectar mixed with protien powder *mixed a crushed Prilosec with same and got it down fine. *was able to sip my Centrum liquid Vitamins and chase with Water, went down fine *sips are able to get just the tiniest bit bigger without the reflux *was able to very carefully and with his help, get fussy little man into his crib for his nap without discomfort or pain, so my belly really is healing *actually drank enough liquid this morning to produce the bowel movement my GI pics showed was waiting to be "prompted" to do so. *I actually feel okay today, physically, and not undernourished and underhydrated (although to be able to chug some Iced Tea would be just the best thing!) Wow, so believe me, I'm not doing anything to mess this up! I hope it improves, even if it does so slowly.

Great NSV's Harkingluv! jjsmiles~ Of course that is a true NSV! That's amazing! What an accomplishment. Oh, I have one more I forgot to mention. I can FINALLY wear my wedding rings again! I haven't been able to wear them since I was pregnant with my son almost three years ago! DH said he's glad I can wear them because he wants people to know I'm taken, lol! He's so funny....

What does NSV stand for? My happy moments have been that the roll above my waist is decreasing. My face does actually look thinner. I went from size 18 to size 16, thats walmart sizes, not designer sizes. I wish my breast size would significantly decrease, I hate being DD, miss C. I have gone from 208 on my surgery date to about 194. I can only bring myself to weigh once a month. I hate disappointment. My goal is 175.

Some of my NSV's: I can fit into smaller clothes; down from size 2X to 16 (XL) walmart and kmart not designer sizes as someone else said... My face is much thinner. Some people no longer recognize me. That's always fun. Smaller bra size. yippppppppppeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee I can walk til the cows come home. No problem. I can climb stairs without any difficulty. No resting or break required. I don't feel like I'm sitting on my steering wheel anymore... I can cross my legs comforably a biggie for me! I love good healthy food and crave it not the fatty stuff... but fresh fruits and vegetables and enjoy them! Wayyyyyy more energy. I can walk in the morning, swim in the afternoon and walk on the beach in the evening. With energy to sit here at 11PM still going... If a wave knocks me over at the beach I can get up.

Thanks luluc! My latest NSV is: MY HEAD HAS SHRUNK! At the gym I wear my MP3player around my neck. I also wear a small gold chain with a diamond pendant which I have been afraid of losing since I got it. I pulled the player over my head and set it down. A little while later I reached for the pendant and it wasnt there. OMG I was so scared! I searched the car and my clothes but nothing. I looked to where my mp3player was and there also was my necklace! I had pulled it off with my mp3 player! MY HEAD GOT SMALLER! I noticed recently that my necklace was hanging really low in to my cleavage. When I first bought it it was dang near a choker! :grouphug:

Noahsmomm - Hang in there - you are probably getting cold feet. I got them, I was so nervous before my surgery. I really freaked out a couple of days before hand. Now saying that - make sure that this is something that you want to do and that you are ready. I'm sure if you are a year out already you've done your research. I'm not trying to discourage you by any means - I love my band. But, I don't believe in doing anything unless it is something you are ready to do. There have been some negative posts lately, but this site is also wonderful source for information. There is so much more positive here than negative. Yes, you will probably have a bad day every now and again. There may be PBing or sliming at some point. You do need to prepare yourself for the chance these things can happen. They shouldn't deter you from being banded though. If they do then maybe you should re-evaluate why you want this done. Check out the progress pics thread, the NSV's and the support that is offered here. One thing for sure. As long as you come here you are not alone. I hope you can come to a decision. You need to do what is right for you.

You are so funny Trish! Congrats on the NSV! and as an added bonus, the happy dance counts as excersize!

Lisa, you have a NSV!! Would you have felt like doing this 6 months ago? Betty, I can't believe you can handle a motorcyle, but don't want to drive in Houston! Girl, you sound fearless to me!

My new NSV: My husband doesn't know me anymore
gamergirl posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So we go to the grocery store yesterday. My husband and I split up to divide and conquer the pesky grocery shopping. After a bit, he starts to look for me. I was standing in front of him, just down the aisle. He didn't recognize me right away I think he likes my new body. I suspect it makes him feel like he's with a brand new woman. hahahahaha! -
While sitting at my desk this morning... I felt very uncomfortable ~ like my pants and panties were getting all tangled up. I was in such a rush this morning... I just got dressed fast and left for work. When I went to the ladies room, I realized my panties are WAY TOO big! Silly....but that felt GREAT... I need to go shopping for smaller panties tomorrow!!

of the days I can shop in the regular sizes, walk a lot and not get tired, have more energy, be more active, not worry about seat belts not fitting... I know there's a lot of these kinds of posts but when I'm having a bad day that's full of nausea and I'm feeling like a failure, this is what I think about. A small NSV for me is since I've lost 22 lbs., whenever I go to the store or go out and about, I don't get SUPER sweaty. I live in AZ so it's in the 100s right now, but I used to sweat for NO reason. Now, I only sweat when I'm in the heat for a prolonged amount of time. I don't sweat when I'm just walking around a store or anything. It's so nice.

Any other August 5th surgeries!?!?!?
agirlnamedfrankie replied to Alex C's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes! Every day is a rollercoaster of "I'm so excited, I want to do it NOW!" and "omg, what have I done, this will be terrible!" Reading the forums has mostly helped me lean towards excitement, especially with the number of great success stories and the fun NSVs but some of the problems do make me worry. It will be a huge change but I guess if what I had going right now was working, I wouldn't be here in the first place. -
Wow, thank you for the inspiration! I cannot wait to go places and not have the first thing I think about is "Can I fit in the chairs?". That is the best NSV!!! Wish you continued success!!!!!!!!!
