    NSV

NSV. this afternoon there were two techs in the back hallway when I was walking through. one had her leg up writing on paper with her thigh as the surface to write on. the other gestured for me to go on through and I said, I can't fit through there! they both said, yes you can! I said to the one girl, put your leg down and she said - no, I promise you will fit just fine. well. I'm astounded. I walked right through there like it was the grand canyon. do you all have any trouble with judging how much room you need?

    Fun NSV

I travel for work about every 6 weeks to one of our facilities in another state. Due to my surgery, I haven't been here for about 12 weeks I'm down about 65lbs since the last time I was here (about 95 lbs overall). Obviously here has been a pretty big reaction for many of my co-workers, but the best one happened yesterday. As I was headed out for the day, the cleaning lady, who speaks only Spanish (but who I always see and exchange he occasional friendly "Hola") stopped me in the hallways rather excitedly to comment on my "mucho" weight loss, entirely in Spanish, with lots of fun gestures showing how thin she thought I had become. I thought is was very sweet.

    NSV

Today was 8 weeks since my surgery on March 28. My clothes have been getting extremely too big on me and I realized in a picture that was taken with the family over the weekend that I actually am starting to look sloppy because my clothes are just hanging so I decided to go look for at least one pair pants and maybe a couple of tops that I can wear with a bunch of different things to try to get away with them for a while. ..... So I grabbed a couple pairs of pants and couple tops one size smaller went to the dressing room and much to my surprise I actually needed to go down another size I started out 1st of this year in 4x 30/32 tops and 28/30 3x pants. I am now a 22/24 top and bottom. Can almost get into an 18/20 top. I can't even begin to describe how excited I was, I was almost in tears in the dressing room from excitement. ..... Definitely motivating for me. The scale may not move too much sometimes since surgery even though I am down 33 pounds in eight weeks total 85 pounds since 1st of year, but the inches go down. This has been an amazing journey so far and this has been the best decision I've ever made in my life I still have a long way to go but I'm enjoying every minute of it. 7. NSV? Lost and caught: So there I was--surf fishing (my favorite thing among all things)--standing on the beach in my old, way too loose sweat pants and surf shoes when my lines went "zzzzziiiiiiinnnnnggggg!!!!!" (really big fish on the hook and taking my line). I yanked the rod, fish lurched deeper into the ocean--pulling me in. There I was knee deep--my now water soaked sweats (now way too big since weight loss) down around my knees. What happened? I caught a forty four inch striped bass and lost my pants. I never felt the least bit embarrassed. I was feeling way to joyful, not only for catching a nice fish, but for losing enough weight to lose my pants in the process! I guess it's a good thing I wore my new baby blue undies that day. smile emoticon I was the only woman surf fishing that day and all of the guys were good spirited about the whole experience and attempted to save my "dignity" Ha! I had just out fished all of them!!!!! Joy, joy,

    Need a buddy!

@@schwa22 my energy level is day by day. I force myself to do things I don't think I can do, and to my surprise I can and I'm not super tired afterwards. Just start small, build up your levels. I walked over 8 miles yesterday when I went to a Detroit Tigers game, and I wasn't tired or sore!! That to me is a HUGE NSV!!! @@Lenoreholden you can do this!! I promise you it's worth it. Keep telling yourself that you can do this, and I know it seems so hard, but you will get there. Try cutting carbs and sugar out, that was a big help for me, also tracking calories was helpful. Flying

That would be a potential NSV if I flew often. Last time was about 5 years ago and we had to hop on a puddle hopper to get to the airport near Ft Drum NY. It was about a 45 minute flight and hubby had gotten two front row seats. I thought great, more leg room - WRONG! I sat against the window and to not only squeeze my behind into the seat but I also had to sit with my head cocked to an angle because of the curve of the plane itself. It was a miserable trip.

    Pant sizes?

@@charley27 I started at a size 22 jeans...Well I had popped the button and my sweet husband moved it over for me. Reality a size 24. I'm now a 0 to a 3. I have no hip's or butt. Not sure how many sizes I went down. When my husband would mention my jeans are baggy in the butt...Or if clothing was sliding off my body. I knew it was time for new clothing. My big size drop was a size 16 to a 10 in a short period of time. It was a great NSV.

    Flying

I have to say that one of my most amazing NSVs was flying down to my nephew's wedding just over 2 months after surgery and not needing the extender AND being able to lower the tray table to its appropriate position. It was so hard not to share the excitement with the flight attendant and my seat mates! I feel your pain. One of my last flights was international to Israel from Atlanta. I was already sick, didn't fit the seat, and had broken flaps for me to lean my head on to sleep. It was a miserable flight. pam

@@Sharon1964 that is awesome. I'll bet you were laughing yer butt off over not being recognized. Cool stuff. @@treblecutie23 looking great. Know that if you are rocking those at work......the guys on the job are getting nothing done. Had an interesting day yesterday. Good gym session in the late morning.....good grub at my favorite local spot......and then home to see my son off for the first day on his new job. He's finishing his junior year of high school this week and has done really well. Started driving this year....supercool girlfriend and now he's gonna be working for the summer. Cool little wing joint (best teriyaki wings I've ever had......need to duplicate their sauce one day). He was peeved when I took his hat. lol. The weight related NSV aspect of this was that I'm wearing a new 2XL shirt in the pics. Took it out of the package and put it on. No pre-stretching of torso section as I used to do in the old days........pretty dang cool when I consider the fact that I was wearing 6XL shirts 7 months ago. Pretty dang cool.

    Rant: Rude people!

@@CowgirlJane - certainly, if it was a friend razzing me for looking silly with baggy pants that's one thing. But it was the way he said it (with disgust and annoyance) and the volume he said it at (made sure plenty of other people would notice my sagging butt). Whether your customer dresses in sizes too large or too small for their body is not something one should comment on. Yes, I suppose I need to invest in a belt but I HATE belts the buckle digs in to my belly when I sit down. Any recommendations for a softer type of belt?? And indeed, it is a NSV I'm proud of! I want these big ol' pants to get TOO big so I no longer have to pay the premium plus sized cost and enjoy shopping in the normal section of the store! But at the same time, I don't think I deserve to be mocked while dealing with the awkward in-between.

    Rant: Rude people!

Good for you that you wrote to the manager. He would never know that the server is costing him customers, either because YOU won't go back or because the negative word of mouth (and burning YELP report with do some damage. From the "Every cloud has a silver lining" department, we call this a NSV, Non-Scale-Victory. Actually, dropped drawers is a first NSV for many of us.

    How about some NSVs!?!?

my toddler and i just got back from the indoor playground. besides having tons of energy to chase her little butt all around, my nsv is how cool it was to be able to squeeze through all the little holes and tubes and obstacles. she's only two, but she be fierce, so instead of the toddler area, we ventured to the big kid area...it was huge and sooo fun! i happened to catch a glimpse of myself climbing out of this teeny tube, so i'm squatting, really (cause it still hurts like anything to crawl around! i don't know how babies' knees don't hurt!), and i just easily crawl through. that alone just blows my mind...i'm so little! love it!!
  19. Had my 2nd Pre Op appointment. Had blood taken, stood in front of an x ray thing and swallowed sweet chalky water. Was told I lost 21 pounds since just following the Nut. I have no problen loosing the weight it is keeping it off is the problem. I had to fight every urge not to stop at Taco Bell to "celebrate". Took everything I had to drive past. Even had my turn signal on and changed my mind at the last second. I have lost 21 pounds and not many people noticed. Lol..that is ok. I have alot NSV's- pants fit better..I am on the last hole in the belt, wedding ring comes off easily now...

Sleeved 4/29. Weighed 287 at time of surgery. Not sure how much I weigh now, but I experienced my first NSV over the weekend. I had to fly home for my grandmother's funeral. I've never needed to use a belt extender but it usually was pulled to the hilt. Now, I was able to pull the strap back a few inches and the flight attendant was able to see the belt on my lap.
  21. oh heck ya! I live in the Sunshine state and its been in the 90s in the afternoons. It has dipped into the 50s-60s and I don't like to be cold so I kept a couple of hoodies. I also found a Danskin zip-up lightweight jacket that was on the clearance racket about two months ago. I thought it wouldn't fit size (12-14) had a big NSV when it not only fit, but ZIPPED over the girls with plenty of room! I strut around in it like its a PINK LADIES jacket from Grease!

I totally understand this...... I know in my head that I have lost almost 100 pound from the start but I do t really see it Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App yall, this is exactly my nsv, too. so, i was snuggling with my hubby, and i lying on top (don't worry, we're clothed, this is totally safe for work lol), and i said "why is this so uncomfortable?" it turns out that i was still holding myself up as if i was trying not to bear all my weight on him. i've lost 125 lbs, and my body still felt the need to prevent itself from crushing my partner LOL. my mind was truly blown at just how mental this world is, you know what i mean? ahh, this journey is so fun.
