Don't worry. Stick with your plan. There will be days the scale doesn't move but it will always start up again. Try to weigh in once a week. Search the forum for 3 week stall. You'll see many have experienced it. Good luck with your journey!

Just hang in there, the weight will start going down again. I went through the dreaded 3 week stall and just finished another 2 week stall (10 months post-op). Your body is going to fight back as you lose the weight so fast. It is going into starvation mode and will try to hang onto every calorie it has stored. But if you just keep with your program, your weight will start falling again, I promise. Keep Pimpin' that Sleeve!

Sounds like you are in the 3 week stall. It to shall pass! I am a really slow loser, so twenty lbs sounds GREAT! I suggest making sure you chart your weight, mine goes up and down and all over the place. I know I lose slower partially because I was a band to sleeve conversion. I'm eating less, but not a lot less. It's frustrating, but I AM LOSING! Here is a shot of my last 3 mos. Good luck!

Sept 11th Sleever- weight kind of steady
PdxMan replied to julianaw85's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Do a search on this site for the 3 week stall. It isn't a stall that lasts 3 weeks, but one that occurs approximately 3 weeks post op. Extremely common. Just keep following your guidelines and weigh yourself only once a week. Once a month is what I did, but I'm a little crazy. -
My 3 week stall has been broken !!! Thank goodness !!! Surgery date 8/20 SW 307 CW 275 Sent from my ADR6330VW using VST

Maybe you are at the dreaded 3 week stall period? I haven't got that far but others have said that is around the time for a stall.
-
I'm pre-op still but I have read so many people talk about the 3 week stall... Metabolisms are weird. Drink a ton of water, stay the course and it will come off... I'm hoping to only weigh in monthly for this reason. Don't know how I'll do with that, but I'll try!

Dont forget about the 3 week stall. It happens to most of us. If you do a search here on the website you will see thousands of discussions about it. -
I remember the 3 week stall but is there also a big stall at the 6-7 month mark. I am 10-15 from goal and haven't lost anything in about 3 weeks. Just wondering if everyone stalls or am I leveling off? Hw was 232. Sw 218 and current weight 155. DOS 3/26/13.

How Many Calories Are You Eating?
natmo2431 replied to TamaraS's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Have any of you been measuring inches rather then watching the scale? I have been at about the same weight for 3 weeks now and am almost 2 months out (3 week stall apparently according to my doctor). I measured my thighs, calfs, arms, waist, hips and neck and between 9/13/13-9/30/13 I had lost 11.5 inches overall. I just would have wished I measured myself before surgery. One pant size and two shirt sizes in a month and a half was a good achievement even though the scale wasn't moving. Just continue doing what you're suppose too and the scale will start moving again. I am going to start tracking my calories and protein using the app LoseIt! just to start keeping myself honest and hopefully I will see the scale move again. -

4 weeks out and only 16 lbs lost. Totally regretting this surgery.

I think it would make sense for a 3 week stall to happen especially if your 1st 2 are clear liquids and the 3rd you switch over to low fat soft solids. What you think about this? -

I had my sleeve 3 weeks ago tomorrow and I did great with the pre-op diet and the first 2 weeks after surgery I lost 39 lbs. However this week I haven't lost anything. I dont feel like I have screwed anything up but I don't know. I threw up last night after I ate for the first time since surgery but I felt so much better after I did. I think I had 1 to many bites. Has anyone else had a stall at 3 weeks post-op? Any suggestions or comments would be great. Thanks in advance.

8 weeks out, officially hit the 30 pound mark, slow and steady wins the race....

I had the 3 week stall that most everyone experiences it lasted for 10 long days then I dropped a couple pounds. Other than that no other stalls. I seems to hold the same for 3-4-5 days then drop a pound and then next day half a pound then same for a week. I know if I did more exercise I would see more but having a hard time in the motivation department with life so busy, I am getting a good 2/3 mile walk a day. I think my expectations were high too seeing people reach goal at 6 months and all. I will have them check my lean mass when I go in nextime. I am still excited that I have had this done and will continue to work at it. -

I'm starting week 4 today. The same thing happened to me except I gained weight in week two. 9 lbs! After losing 17 the first week. Don't worry. The scale will move again. Stalls are normal. And the dreaded 3 week stall is famous around here....look it up. I had the same fears and it all came off and I'm still going down. Just follow your plan and you'll be fine! -
Well, I guess this is going to be my gastric sleeve story.

Thanks! For some reason I thought the 3 week stall was a stall that lasted 3 weeks. So people normally stall at the 3 week mark? -

Elli.. If you read around the boards, the "dreaded" 3 week stall seems to be a reality for many. All the advice, I've seen thus far on the topic is... take it easy, keep doing what you're doing, stick to the program and your body will eventually start releasing the weight again. It's an adjustment period and the body needs to adapt. You're doing great though... I can't wait to be on the sleeved side of things!! -
how to break through the dreaded 3 week stall?
Heather Meyer posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Pretty sure my body has stalled. Including my pre op diet.. i have lost 31 pounds in a month but now i think ive stalled. The scale is not going up or down..its just sitting there at the same spot. I am currently on purees and my menu looks like this: B- 1/4 cup cream of wheat with a splash of 1 percent milk and a tsp of seedless raspberry jelly L- a 1/4 cup of pureed refried Beans with a tbsp of sour cream and a tbsp of pureed mild salsa D- 1/4 cup of ricotta bake S- 1/4 cup of 0 percent vanilla greek yogurt S- 1 popsicle Beverages- diluted apple juice- 1/2 Water 1/2 no sugar added apple juice Exercise- 1 hour of walking at a mild to moderate pace..enough to break a sweat So..thoughts on how to get out of the stall?
