Man..everytime I get on here and see your beautiful face I am inspired!! I have been on a L O N G plateau!! I had my band so tight I was pbing everything..even liquid..loosened it up and gained 1 pound after 6 weeks which really equates gaining about 7-13 pounds!!! He went in and put half as much back in me and I went to my regular doctor and she said I could stop now..HA! I am on nexium for the reflux I still get and since I suffer from that so bad I am also on ambienCR to help me sleep..but when I get that reflux...any bile or food that hasn't processed starts coming back up and I tell you honestly..you don't want to wake up puking all over yourself like I had been doing!! Now I am adjusting better but I'm still losing quite a bit of hair..I started taking protein supplements and biotin to help alleviate that but not much success there.

Yeah im still super glad I had the procedure done. I'm about 50lbs down, from my heaviest, still dont think i look that different, but it feels great! I feel like i'm eating normal, but smaller portions, i need to step up my game. But that really was my ultimate goal, to make better decisions, but still lead a normal life. Congrats on the amazing weight loss!! My jaw dropped! thats outstanding!

Hey there, how's your weight loss coming along? Its so hard to give pointers these days since I havent lost a pound in a couple of months now (think I need a fill). The best advice I can give is to make sure you are working out at least 3-4 times a week (I was doing 5-6 times in the beginning) and make conscious decisions of what you are eating. The band does limit the amount of food you can eat, but it doesnt always limit what you are eating. Heavy starches like bread, certain pasta, rice, gives me a hard time but i can live without. Chips on the other hand, is my weakness and it does not limit that for me really.
So just beware. Count your calories. Know of what it takes to burn those calories off and you may think twice before making a bad decision. 30 minutes on the elliptical at a pretty steady pace burns about 350 for me and that's pretty hard work. So some times when I go for that bag of chips and thats 280 cals, it doesnt seem worth it.

Hi there, thanks for the compliment. I actually wrote a blog thats on my page about my diet/workout routine. I've since slowed down the working out, but my weight loss has slowed as well, so I really believe strongly the key to success is working out (it also helps some with the saggy skin). Please check out my blog and let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks copa, glad you are doing well and sorry you're having the pain in your neck . . I have not heard of that, but I do know that we relaly get banged around during surgery. Hope it clears up soon. When do you see your surgeon so you could ask about it? My weight loss has been good . .I'm at 50 pounds - wow amazing. I'm going for a 2nd fill this Friday. Thanks for keeping in touch! Rose

Hi Eileen,I think your 39 pounds is fantastic. The fact that your weight is consistently going down is great. I'm not sure there is a "should" have as far as how much we each should lose. I really had not calculated it, but since you asked, I sat down and charted it out . I'm in week #14 & have lost 50 # including pre-op (10 #). My losses are a bit lower recently compared to August. I'm 183 at my morning weigh in. I still weigh every day - bad I know, and I'm not going to the gym, but I walk at least a mile every day. I have no complaints. I realize my loss is probably above average and I'm glad for that - I just don't want that to be discouraging for anyone else. I wish I could get to a gym like you do, I know that has to be firming up areas that need it . . I have pretty bad bat wings and my belly just doesn't want to go down as much as I would like. . ..ah well . .. in time! Thanks for keeping in touch! Rose

Today makes 2 months that I have been banded. I have only lost 20 lbs. I had 1 fill. I have not lost anything in a month but not have gained any either. You think I will loss anymore weight??? I sure do hope so.

No fill yet. I am scheduled, again, for next week but depending on what happens this week...I have past on the last 3 fills. I lost 5 lbs last week, but only 8/10s of a lb this week. But, I've been losing consistently 3-4 lbs a week since my surgery on 6/21. Prior to surger I was up to 268lbs. On surgery date, I was 151.4 and am now 223. I weigh in and chart my losses on Sunday. If I don't have a descent loss this week, it might mean I need my first fill. I haven't been hungry and I don't think I am eating any more than I have been. I'm at the gym 3-4 times a week. I do cardio2 times a week and combine cardio and weight training 2 days a week. I find I really love the gym.
I am anxious to lose enough to get out of the 220. We'll see how it goes.
You are doing remarkably well. Keep up the good work. Are you exercising? Are you getting protein from your food or are you doing shakes? I am so happy for you and I know you will hit the ONEderland very soon.

Heyyy congrats on ur amazing weight loss!!! How did you lose 100 pounds in so little time?

I've just celebrated my 2nd "Rebirthday." I weighed in at 271 and a half and I'm down to 174 and a half. To average a loss of 2lbs a week is on the "high" end, so you're doing fine...especially since the first month Banders may not lose any weight and many experience a small gain. You're doing fine. My only advice is to get ready to weather to storm when that Band Honeymoon is over...
