    Constipation

Sorry about the TMI nature of this post, but I am away from home and don't know what to do next. I am 7 weeks out and starting to eat a regular diet. I have not had a BM for over a week. I have been taking a capful of Miralax each morning for 4 days, and last night took two suppositories and two Ducolax. Nothing! When I was on liquids and puréed foods I would have a small, but soft BM every couple days. I was trying to decide whether to take some milk of magnesia or do an enema. Any ideas?

    Is this dumping?!

All day I've had the worst stomach cramps, I've had horrible, at times even uncontrollable diarrhea (sorry TMI) - I haven't change anything in my diet, I'm only 10 days PO and still on full liquids. This is awful. I have hardly ate anything all day because I immediately cramp up and run to the bathroom. I feel like I need something substantial in my stomach, like bread, rice - BRAT diet stuff to stop this - Is this dumping or is something wrong?
  3. So I'm not even 2 weeks post op and I'm already thinking about when I can have plastic surgery. I've always have very disproportionate sized large arms and somewhat droopy boobs (sorry for the tmi) so I'm really nervous about how they will look after significant weight loss. I know this is shallow, but it's a real concern for me. I'm already saving money for plastic surgery as I know I will need it. After having my sleeve I'm in no real rush to go under the knife again, yet I know I will need to. But, how long after WLS should I wait before having plastics?
  4. So fellow lady sleevers....... What kind of changes did you experience " down there "? Did your period change? What was ovulation like? Less/more vag secretions? Has your mons pubis shrunk? Libido? I know everyBODY is different, but I just want to know what may oray not happen. Like, what to expect.

    Constipation Club

I also ended up in the hospital impacted. Do not wait until it is to late. I went through Colace, Milk of Magnesia, Miralax, SF Metamucil and would still have to use an enema to really feel relieved. TMI...I know. I have a very lazy colon and bowel but didn't know it. So now I am on Amitiza. A prescription medication for people who have severe constipation or IBS. Hopefully when I implement more foods things will improve but for now it seems to be doing the job.
  6. Let me just say... I was big and bad going into this. I was in control of my two week diet before surgery... no cheating... picture of strength.. I was ready. The day of surgery, I was big and bad again... Let me tell you, when I came to after the surgery the nurse laughed at me because she could tell I skipped the silly talking a lot phase and went straight into "I'm gonna puke... what the hell did I do?" phase. I felt horrible that first day. Yesterday morning when I got ready to leave I was feeling OK but the minute I was in the car riding home I became SUPER nauseated. So what I'm trying to figure out now: Is the pain I'm feeling gas? Am I drinking my sips to fast and to big? Is my pain med making me sick? I kept reading about all the gas issues, but I don't know if that's what I'm feeling or what... TMI time... my poor roommate had to hear this, but I went to the bathroom cause I just thought I was going to die and ended up passing gas like an Olympic champion. My roommate literally ran to the door and asked if I was OK and I was screaming "Thank you Jesus." I didn't even get near my Protein or Water goals today... Every little thing I drink makes me feel bad. However, this morning (25th) I'm handling water better and I'm even having hot herbal tea right now because my sleep schedule is F'd up. Any comments about your experience with the first few days would be greatly appreciated!

    OCTOBER 2014

So yesterday was a tough one. My bf cooked scrambled eggs and bacon, so I decided to have a piece of toast and make a little half egg sandwich. He of course thought I was making a babad choice w the toast. I tried to explain to him that my nut told me I can have toast. We got in a huge fight. Over TOAST! He eventually apologized, and I tried to explain to him that he needs to just be there for me and stop policing what I eat. I grew up in that type of environment, I definitely don't need that now, especially after thus surgery. He felt bad and took me to a movie and dinner lol. So at the movies, he had candy. I tried 2 Swedish fishes. 5 min later, my heart was racing! No nausea or anything like that, just my heart. I have a heart rate monitor on my phone, my bpm was 96! I got up and went to the bathroom, ended up dry heaving of course, and then I just sat there for a good 15 min to calm myself. It eventually subsided and I was good. My friend told me certain sweets make her bug out like that too. So weird, it was almost like I drank 5 red bulls or something lol. So we went to Applebee's after that. I ended up getting the Fiesta lime chicken breast with mashed potatoes instead of the rice it comes with. Ate a tiny bit and boxed the rest for lunch. So yummy! I'm noticing that I haven't needed my colace for a few weeks, but the last week or so, I've been getting diarrhea every day, especially in the morning. Sorry for the tmi! Just starting to worry me. As for the holiday cooking, my parents ordered a bunch of Italian stuff for Christmas day, like ziti, lasagna, sausage and peppers, eggplant parm, pasta salad, Italian bread...all stuff I can't eat! I'm kind of annoyed :-/ I'm going to have to get a ham steak or something to cook for myself with some potatoes. Gonna have to be the oddball out! Happy Holidays everyone!
  8. I am almost 7days post op and I haven't gone #2 !! Is this normal ?? I don't feel like I have to go but is it ok?
  9. cross my legs for the first time in I don't know when. Years and years maybe. And I purchased some new underwear - 2 sizes smalled. Maybe TMI, but to me it is a big deal.

    Any December Sleevers

@@scstxrn thank you for your advice. Today marks the first day I'm able to constantly sip without feeling intense gas pain. So that's a win today! Although I fear I'm a bit dehydrated because (tmi) urine is very dark. So I'm really going to give liquids my best shot today.
  13. Hi everyone, sorry if this is TMI but I got sent home with a catheter because my bladder isn't "awake" yet. I'm scheduled for a urologist visit Friday the 26th. Has anyone on here had this problem when coming out of anesthesia? I've had multiple surgeries and never had problems before. This one is not fun. Mike

    Any December Sleevers

@@WRIGHTLE Yes my surgery was on Monday, December 15th. Just 3 days post op. I'm struggling with my liquids. Hopefully it'll get better soon. The trapped gas is horrific for me and nausea. I vomited (sorry for the tmi) horribly as soon as I got to my room after my procedure. I've had issues with nausea coming in waves ever since. I also vomited a bit today. I noticed that I'm very particular with smells and textures of foods right now. Hopefully it's because my stomach is a little weak right now. The only thing that's somewhat agrees with me is warm tea, crystal light, and Popsicles. Lol. I have this Isopure drink from the vitamin shoppe I'm using to try to get some protein in, but one bottle has lasted me three days, lol.

    Week 6: May 27-31st Sleevers

How's everyone doing? I have a personal question to ask and I hope its not TMI. Is anyone experiencing sexual issues since your weight loss? I have completely lost my desire for sex. It seems odd to me, I would have thought losing 65 lbs would make me want sex but it has had the opposite effect on me. I am hoping its temporary but its not something I really want to ask my surgeon about. Anyone else in this same boat?

    Smooth move tea help

TMI alert: I hadn't gone in 2.5 weeks,so I thought I would give this a chance. There was no cramping and it come out very solid. There was some bleeding afterwards and I've already contacted my doctor. I don't know if anyone else experienced this, but it was a little scary. I'm taking Miralax now.
  19. You guys are right, each day has gotten better since surgery and so far day 3 has been no different, although this is the day it got ALOT better! Last night I was in pain again so I took lortab and a couple Gas-X strips before going to bed. I knew the lortab would help me sleep but didn't have a lot of faith in the Gas-X accomplishing anything. Wow, was I wrong! 4 hours later I literally woke myself up in the middle of the night with the greatest passing of wind the world has probably ever known. Seriously, I wish I had a stopwatch handy because it had to have been some kind of record for the sheer duration of it. I can't say my wife was as impressed as I was but my dog certainly seemed to be. And just like that, almost all my pain was gone! The new only pain I feel now is the incisions and that is very minor and completely tolerable. Sorry to be crude but this was a milestone in feeling better for me and I'm just sharing my experiences as they come. I hope the rest of you who have had surgery recently are feeling better today also.

    Maintaining Her down there

When the Brazilian starts to grow back on the backside is it prickly? I have always wanted that area cleaned up and now that I'm post surgery -5 days looking forward to my first not obese vacation every in April. TMI I am hairy ????????????????
  21. Good morning all. I had my second fill this past Thursday. The doctor didn't use a numbing shot this time but it wasn't painful at all. I did notice my port site to be tender the next day but not bad. With my first fill I had little restriction the first week then nothing after. This morning I made an egg, mushrooms, and spinach ( 1 cup total) . Yummy but OMG I ate maybe half of it and I'm stuffed...so stuffed I was scared I was going to have my first stuck episode. Felt like I had a lump in my throat and my mouth started watering (tmi). I walked around a bit, and said a prayer, promising I would eat much slower if I didn't get stuck. It went away after 5 mins. I have to admit I'm a bit sad I didn't get to finish eating because it was really tasty. I'm guessing this is part of the process. I keep thinking if I didn't have my wonderful band how much I would have ate just this morning.

    OCTOBER 2014

@Bronxmerci: I can really relate to your experience! I had the same thing: an upper GI bleed. (I have posted this in more detail in other threads under my user name.) This was after having complications and an extended hospital stay for the RNY surgery. I was slowly bleeding to death that first month after surgery. I kept telling my health care team that something was wrong. (At the risk of TMI, I was only passing black goo.) But no one was listening. I felt like my epitaph would read like that one on Boot Hill, "I told you I was sick!" A month after surgery, I was getting up for work like I had been for a week before, and I felt too weak to continue. I told my wife I'd call in sick. She took one look at me and said I was "cadaver yellow", in her words. She told me to lay down because she was calling 911. Within five minutes, five paramedics showed up at my house. They checked me out and told me I was going to the hospital by ambulance. My first ambulance ride. Yay. At the hospital, they did an upper GI and cauterized the upper GI bleeders. I stayed in the hospital after that too. Now I can almost laugh about it. My health care team said it put me about a month behind a normal recovery. I'm still not sure about that. It might have been more. But I'm healthy now. I don't have to take all the meds I used to. I'm not using CPAP. I'm not pre-diabetic anymore. Last September I even completed my first ever "half-century" (50 mile) bike ride--Spokefest 2014! It does get better. Even for those of us who've had complications. It will get better for you too.

    Holiday Challenge!

273.4 I didn't post last week because I was mad at the scales! I had gained a pound due to some gruesome constipation (sorry TMI). But this week turned around & I'm feeling much better.
  24. I just had mine out here in the US a few weeks ago. Ariel Ortiz did my sleeve last December but I never asked re: gall bladder. I didn't want to push my luck. My surgeon who took it out said that there was a stone in it almost as large as my gall bladder itself (I know TMI) and there was no way that my weight loss caused my stones - that they had been forming for a number of years. The recovery was fine. Funny, I had terrible gas pains after gall bladder removal, but not after my sleeve. Go figure I'm 3 weeks out of gall bladder surgery and will be returning to cardio tomorrow, but no weights for a few more weeks.
  25. I'm alive!!! Yay! No cramping or anything crazy! I did "go" but just normal, there's not a whole lot in my belly anyway. So glad I could share all my TMI with everyone! Lol! So I think the tea is safe..I don't know if I will drink it again because I don't want to push my luck but I'm good: )
