Got my date: January 21st
kathy0529 replied to Fatdiva14's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@Fatdiva14 me, too! Surgery ended up being 2 hours later than scheduled which was a bummer. Had a breakdown when they said we were ready. I am completely exhausted and the nausea has been my biggest problem. I have to say that the nurses at my hospital are amazing! Sorry for the tmi, but when I'm upright, I get nauseous and then I dry heave, but it's cause of the gas and then I burp and its a little better. No vomiting. I'm sipping Water and am getting ready to do a 2nd walk. I have to drink 2 8 ounce Protein Drinks in order to get discharged so I plan on starting at 5 or 6 am so I can get out. Hope you are doing well. -
Just sleeved. In the hospital now.

Congrats and welcome to the losing side!! I had my surgery Monday morning. Felt great in hospital for most part and walked in just a cple hrs from recovery. Since being home, I've had a low grade fever and diarrhea TMI I'm sorry...sporadic sleep and trouble getting in the fluids. Still feeling burby and not used to those feelings. Talked to my surgeons secretary today who has gone thru this and she reassured me all is normal and the first four days are the toughest. So I'm hopeful for tomorrow!!! I gained weight during surgery but quickly dropped it according to my home scale the last day. Keep hydrated and keep peeing!! Supposedly by 1 wk post op we will be a brand new person!!! Good luck! -
Anyone experienced weird bowel movement symptoms? TMI but... I have had white and beige poop for the last two weeks. No nausea. But my umbilical hernia was hurting last week.

January 15th, 2015 Anyone?
Jenngf5 replied to downsizingdiva's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Walking is helping. Finally farted TMI but made some difference. Discharged a few hours ago. Coming home to three excited dogs and a family that really wasn't sure how to handle things was rough. A few pot holes later, some liquid Tylenol and a nice long nap I'm doing much better. Trying some minestrone broth and one oz isopure non flavored protein. I take it thought he Tylenol counts as fluids!!! Didn't realize the restriction yesterday but am today. Sipping my oz items now. How's everyone else? -
Gastric Bypass (RNY) and IBD - worse or better?
Rebecca Jo Ragon replied to Rebecca Jo Ragon's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Thanks for the heads up. No, it is not too much TMI. With these issues I would rather know than to play it polite and be surprised. I think we probably have the same thing. I think it is IBS (Syndrome) and not IBD (Disease). Anyway, I am use to flare ups and have even had accidents in the past year at work. So, accidents after surgery will not be a new thing:) Maybe I will be more cautious and careful because of the surgery and I might even show some improvement. Thanks again! -
Really constipated.. I think...

Milk of magnesia works WONDERS, but you should take it before you get stopped up. I know this is TMI, but just imagine the plug already there and everything stopped up inside lol. It's not a pretty feeling when you actually do go. I was in extreme pain (I compared it to labor, but only the early contractions). I would suggest once you do go take a fiber supplement (you can get sme to add to your water) to help regulate. I had two bad occurrences in 1 year. Let's just say, that's the once thing I make sure I'm on top of haha . -
Okay so I'm 3 1/2 months post-op and I'm currently in a stall. It's not bothering me too much because I'm still seeing changes so I'm just going to try keep hydrated, lots of Protein and exercise. But, I am just feeling really down. I had my 3 month check up last week and she said I need to eat more.. Being told all my life to eat less and now it's suddenly reversed. I feel like I cant physically eat more. The little that I do eat seems like far too much. But I'm trying, it just doesn't help that people are trying to force me when they don't understand (friends and family etc). Also, I've damaged the nerves in my stomach apparently? From the surgery and it'll be numb and sore for a long while so that makes me feel worse. Oh and I'm constipated (sorry for the tmi) I just can't go so I feel bloated. I don't know, I guess I'm just so down and it's all getting to me. I'm so grateful for this operation I don't want to seem rude, it's life changing. I just hope things start getting better. Has anyone else felt so down so soon after the vsg? Please let me know. Thank you.

Hi- at 4.5 months out, I feel very lucky to have had literally no problems and i've lost 102 lbs... 3 days ago I started to notice some lower abdominal pressure that I thought was maybe a little constipation. It has increased and my stomach is bloated, hard, and the pressure/pain kind of reminds me of how I felt in the first couple days post opp. Even moving around is uncomfortable... Over the past few days ive gone back to soft foods, taken stool softeners, chia seed, flax seed, upped my water intake to about 150oz a day... ive had a couple of bowel movements that have been painful... sorry if this Is TMI but I thought there might be someone else on here that has been through something similar?

Gastric Bypass (RNY) and IBD - worse or better?
Jolisue replied to Rebecca Jo Ragon's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Hi there. I have IBS, not IBD, so I'm not sure if this response will be helpful. When I eat per doctor's plan, I am fine. I still get flare ups from the same foods that caused it before, but with the addition of embarrassing accidents. I would still have the surgery had I known, but probably more cautious. Also when I'm stressed it kicks in which also leads to accidents. My sisters have both suggested I wear a diaper but I can't bring myself to do that. I hope this wasn't TMI, but I thought I'd be honest. Good luck! -

I know it is TMI, but I am constipated.. I think.. I say I think because I haven't really pooped much in 3 days... BUT, I do not really feel like I NEED to poop... Normal or not?? I took 2 stool softeners yesterday and then again 2 more today.. still no urge to go... I have also been drinking diluted apple juice. anything else I should do? or just wait for things to get moving? -
Wtf... Tmi...
WhitePlumerias replied to momoftwins+1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have PCOS and an IUD. I have about 2 periods a year that last a couple of days but are so light that you only need pantiliner -- sorry if TMI. But since my surgery 3 weeks ago I have been heavily spotting and cramping on and off for 2 weeks. I was told it was normal and was due to the surge in estrogen from rapid weight loss. -

Should I be doing more? Any info anyone has I'd appreciate. Thank you. -
Ugh when am I gonna learn to eat slow
PirateGirl replied to Countrygrrl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my first sliming incident this morning from eating too much/too fast. I'm 2 weeks 2 days out and was eating grits. It was scary. It was a very weird sensation. It felt like the food was stuck just below my throat and that I needed to burp, but I was scared to because it almost felt like if I did I was going to choke. I decided to drink something hoping that would help the food pass on through, but that made it even worse. It hurt really bad. After a few minutes I burped and up came the slime. Gross! TMI, but that was definitely a lesson for me t slow down and STOP when I'm full. I had even remarked to my husband that I never thought I'd see the day when I couldn't finish a pack of grits...then I kept eating. Ugh! -
I had a bm after drinking 2oz of protein shake. Tmi but it felt so good, it got rid of some of my gas pains.

Hello everyone! Let's get right into it! I was sleeves on 12/26/14 & got my period 2 weeks late on 1/15. My periods have always been on the heavier side, but I got on birth control 5 months ago & it was super light. We'll, lol... This period is seriously, from hell! It is SUPER heavy & With plenty of blood clots. Cramps are terrible and I can sit on my toilet & just feel everything come out. I called my OBGYN & they said it was normal & not to worry. However, I still made an appointment just to be sure. Are periods this heavy normal after surgery? I mean like, wear 2 pads heavy! Sorry for all the TMI ????

downsizingdiva replied to downsizingdiva's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm surprisingly feeling good. Walked down the driveway and back with no problems it must have gotten things moving cuz I've released a bunch of gas tmi I know. But I wasn't having gas pains anyway. I'm drinking my first protein shake and I've had about 26 oz water mixed with powerade zero already. I have a tad bit of pain after I swallow sometimes. But other than that I just can't believe im doing so well. Been thanking the Lord all morning. -

December Surgery Thread - we rock!
bellabloom replied to bellabloom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I find that I do best when I eat one to two times per day. I focus on the Protein first and have a few nibbles on tastier things with carbs. I'm five weeks out and still have never reached more than 500 calories and 30 grams of protein a day. It's a struggle for sure. I gave up on Protein Shakes weeks ago. Barf. Tmi but I used to be anorexic and bulimic. I went for months without eating at times and I never lost my hair or or got sick. On one level this worries me because I don't have a lot of fear of what could happen. I'm not very good at following rules. On another hand I am not really worried because I know it's going to get better and in three months I can swallow Vitamins which will make taking my vitamins much easier. I have so much naseau and pain in my stomach at times, tastes make me sick and I really struggle with the supplements and portions. I would rather not deal with food at all most of the time! I have lost 35 pounds since surgery and I have pretty low energy. I'm going to start working out this week because I think that will actually help a lot. It takes time! I'm happy to see you all doing well!! -
I am 8 weeks post op and only have diarrhea. I have it once in the morning and again once or twice at night. The bad part is the smell.. TMI I know but seriously it is bad like cat poop every time.. I feel like I need to get one of those huge commercial grade exhaust fans for the bathroom.. It even smells up the room attached to the bathroom and lingers for a good 30 minutes. Is it just me? My dr appt is next week so I'll find out but when I was in at my 2 week check up the nurse said some people never have normal poops again.

Has anyone have severe Mensural issues post op? I am one month post op and am having the heaviest and worst cramps of my life. I am following up with the doctor, but just curious if others have had issues as well.

Dumping Syndrome? BM's...And yeah it's all TMI
Brandalyn posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well, I got it and it's the pits! Anyone else? If I eat anything that has more than 5g of sugar per serving, I'm full on liquid diarrhea in minutes. I also haven't had a single regular BM since surgery. Am I alone in this? -
Ok so I had my surgery on Jan 7 and still have not pooped!!! I have taken miralax the last 4 days, and it am getting so nervous for when it does come ( if it ever does) I am getting 90 gr of protein, 64oz of water, and all my vitamins. The surgery was a breeze but I developed a Large hematoma that is very painful so I am still taking pain meds. What do I do???? I am normally an every day kinda girl. Is this normal, anyone have any advice?
