May sleevers! How much have you lost so far?

I am super frustrated! I have been gaining and losing the same 3 pounds for over 2 weeks! This week will make 3 weeks, so I am hoping to see a drop by the end of the week. I guess this is the 3 week stall everyone talks about - I say it is BS!!! UGH!!!!! Going to try something different this week and go back to having 2 protein shakes a day and a light dinner. Also going to try and up my fluid intake, even though I don't see how that is possible since I am drinking water every second of the day! GRRRRRRRRRRRR
  2. My 3 week stall last 2 weeks. I started walking and lost 4 pounds. Now I am at almost 7 weeks and stuck again. My clothes feel like I have lost weight but the scale does not show it. Very aggravated!
  3. ME TOO!!!!!!!!! AMEN SISTER! ME TOO!!!!!! Here is my experience with volume (we had different procedures but close to same surgery date); some days I can eat close to 1/2 cup, other days I can barely eat a 6 oz light yogurt. It's weird and a little scary to me as well, but it is what it is, and I'm soooo thankful that I have felt great and have not had any of the uncomfortable side effects that others have suffered. Also, the very few extra calories give me the added energy to move well! I'm noticing my clothes are fitting properly vs being tight, so I figure I'm doing something right. Staying away from the scale bc of the 3 week stall. On a happy note, I had to go to a dinner and literally the only item on the menu that was even a little bit appropriate was chili... I ate about 1/2 of the cup and I was very full but I did not feel cheated or left out. Pre surgery would have been a much different meal for me with feelings of shame and guilt afterward. So... even though it's only been 3 weeks I'm beyond happy with my choice to have this procedure, and I'm keeping a log of these happy victories for when I feel frustrated and upset.

    August Sleevers?! Where Ya's At?

I was sleeved on 8/28, so I'm 3 weeks post-op today. I didn't hit the 3 week stall, but definitely hit a road bump. Only a 2 pound loss since last week, for a total of almost 30 pounds. I'm feeling like myself now, and I'm ready to do more at the gym. Walking has always been so boring to me, and it's getting old. I return to work Thursday night, and I'm so ready! How is everybody else doing?
  5. I think what I was experiencing was my 3 week stall, just really early. I lost all that weight the first 10 days, then only .2 for the next 7. I seem to be losing a little again now.

    Weight loss

Your doing fine. You're on the right track. I started out the same way, then hit the 3 week stall and was stuck until week 4. Don't focus too much on numbers because it will drive you crazy. You are also losing inches too. Keep up the good work.

Sleeved June10th 2015 and STILL at a stall!

Thank you. I was expecting the 3 week stall that everyone was talking about but mine started early and hasn't let up. The link was helpful as well. I find myself hurrying to bed in hopes that I'll wake up and see a pound loss :/ I'll just keep riding it out and try and up my water intake.
  10. Look up the the "3 week stall". Many stall out for up to 4 weeks early on. I did. Then things get better. Who knows why.... the body does what it wants. unflavored protein powders are not unflavored. That being said, you can add them to other things that you like, pea soup? crystal light? refried beans? cottage cheese? This will help you get by until you can eat more regular foods. Good luck and you are doing great!
  11. Congrats what a good feeling!! I can't wait to have lost that much! So happy for you! How long did it take to lose 60lbs? You don't have to tell if you don't want to I am just curious I am at the 3 week stall I feel Ike I will never lose at much

August post op sleevers: Check in

I was sleeved on August 12th. Lost 21 lbs so far but that was the first 2 weeks. I had the 3 week stall as well. I think stepping on the scale constantly wasn't helping either. But the good news is... I've never lost 21 lbs EVER!. I'm feeling good. I had a post op appt. yesterday and I can now start stage 5 - chewable food! I'm kind of scared. I dont want to gain. Still today, I kept it to yogurt, a Protein shake, refried Beans with cheese, applesauce and water. I am not getting the 60-80 grams of protein needed but my doc said now that I can eat regular food, I should be able to. We'll see. I just can't fit all that food in. I'm so glad I had this surgery. The one thing I hated was pureed foods!! Ick!! But I knew it wouldnt be forever - Thank GOD!! Best of luck to all of you

August post op sleevers: Check in

I noticed a few of you, like me, are having the dreaded 2-week or 3-week stall. I just wanted to say there is light at the end of the tunnel!! My stall occurred 10 days after surgery, not even 2 weeks! And it just ended this week (down 1.4 lbs today). The stall lasted 17 days. I just wanted to let you know, what everyone says (and your Dr says) about just keep following your diet, Protein, fluids etc...is true. Your body eventually recovers from that initial shock of losing so much, and you start losing again at a slower pace. Other suggestions...my doctor recommended to make sure I'm getting my Vitamin B12 weekly, and to switch up the calorie intake and exercise from day to day, to keep my body guessing. So I focused on that this past week...700 calories one day, 1000 the next, 800 the next, and I tried yoga, elliptical, hiking and just normal walking (not cleared for heavy exercise yet). Good luck everybody, may your stalls be over ever so soon!
  16. Don't get discouraged! The 3 week stall is a bummer, but you will get past it. Just continue following your diet. RNY 15 weeks out--83 lbs. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  17. Well hang in there. I just broke my 3 week stall. It was really stressful but I tried not to worry about it.
  18. texashopeful- be patient. You have done great with your loss of 35 lbs in such a short amount of time. I had a 3 week stall about 5-6 weeks out. Your body is still healing. Give it time, and you will soon see some good drops every week! As long as you are getting your protein and water- it will be great. I am 12 weeks out, and 50 lbs down. I am very happy with that loss. I still have 80-90 to go!

    September bypass buddies??

Stall, Stall, Stall.......I'm frustrated. I am 5 weeks out revision from sleeve to bypass. I also had a set back of a small bowl obstruction which landed my back in the hospital week 2. I guess i am in the dreaded 3 week stall. I haven't lost anything since the 3rd week. I lost 14.8 prior to surgery and 16. 8 lbs since surgery on 9/10, but nothing since the 3rd week. I have actually gain and lost the same 1-2 lbs for the last 2 weeks. I know it happens, and by body and adjusting and all that, but it is still just discouraging. I am getting my protein in and i have been doing better with liquids although i still need to improve more on that. It is just that, we are eating so little compared to preop, and i can't help but thinking, I should be losing something every week. My mind says how in the world can i not be lose anything for 2 weeks on what i am eating?? I am a revision from sleeve to bypass so i know i may also lose slower than other new bypass patients. I just can help but worry will the stall break? Will i not lose anything else? Will this not work for me because I had previous WLS? I'm sure i am am overreacting today (I hope!) but today I just seem more frustrated than other days, and I needed to vent to those i know will understand my frustration. I had prepared myself for stall, or so I though, I just i just really didn't prepare myself, that this soon out i would be going into a 3rd week of a stall. End of venting session. Thanks for listening.

    OCTOBER 2014

@@Beni I have been reading the message boards and a lot of people talk about the 3 week stall. I feel like I've slowed down too! I don't know how much I've lost other than the two week weigh in. Hang in there! Maybe call your nutritionist? I see mine next week.
  22. Ah, the dreaded 3 week stall, at almost 4 weeks out. Irritation.

Yes you will get through it and probably have a good weight loss when you do break it. I had my surgery in Jan and I have had 3 stalls all ready. This last one lasted 2 weeks and then I dropped 12 pounds in the next 2 weeks. This is a fantastic thread called Embrace the Stall http://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/351046-embrace-the-stall/page-13?hl=+embrace++the++stall#entry4154431
