    Looking for advice

One of the veterans on this forum, ButterTheBean, has this as part of his signature: The 3 week stall.....If you just had surgery and your weight loss has already stalled, read THIS. It's a very helpful article - I recommend it!

    Not bragging but.....

Same here sleeved 1/14 and was able to start chicken this week I have had a text book recovery some soreness nothing unmanageable and eating small amounts is no joke so far I've hit the dreaded 2-3 week stall hoping to be over that soon! These are amazing stories! I saw my surgeon for follow up today he told me if I don't lose to my goal weight in 6 months I've failed the sleeve? That this tool works best in 6 months and the rest is maintaining! He said if I don't work out and burn 1000 calories a day I won't lose? Wow do you work out this much?? I love your stories I was day if surgery 224 now 210 stalled for a week now and am freaking out!

    ? normal post op

I woke from surgery with a dry mouth (normal post op) and with moderate tenderness. By 10 that night I was done with any pain meds. Haven't had any issues since and been losing steadily since (until I hit the dreaded 3 week stall)
  4. Thanks so much for the encouragement. I have been in a 3 week stall and I am currently 8mths out. I'm down to 188 but would love to see 170. You have revitalized my focus!!

Broke stall this week with 4 lb loss for the week! Yeah!!!! If your stuck just wait it out, my clothes are getting baggy and I purchased larges for the first time in years this week! Geaux December sleevers I am proud of all of y'all!
  6. Everyone stalls no matter what, but it will all work out in the end. Keep believing in your success. It will happen. I had a huge 3 week stall starting at week 5. You may see a stall that will last 1-2 months as you get past month 6. No need to worry. That too shall pass. Keep up the good work!
  7. I'm 2 months out and on a 3 week stall (not losing inches either) I'm exercising 7 days a week (I change up my routine). Eating strictly lean protein, veggies & whole grains (600-800 calories daily). I get in all my fluids & protein and I take bariatric fusion vitamins 3x a day. I journal everything. I'm not sure what more I can do. Surgery date 12/3/13 sw 230 cw 200. I'm terrified this is all I will lose. Open to any suggestions.

    Valentine's Challenge

1/3=237 1/10=237 1/17=235 1/24=233 Goal=222 Another 2 pounds GONE! After a 3 week stall, I am SO happy to be seeing some results again. Now, to keep working to get out of these darn 230's.....I have been here too long! Have a great week, everyone, and keep working towards your goals!
  10. Normal. Many of us hit the 3 week stall which is common. You also need to consider surgical weight gain from Fluid retention. Your TOM will cause Water retention as well as any excess in salt from bad food choices. Hang on, follow plan FOR REAL, and move your body. The weight will come off.

    Anti- head hunger

Sounds like your 3 week stall was right on schedule. Sorry about that, but you know it will pass. I got sick of my chewable vitamins (too sweet) and switched to a capsule. Good luck!

    Stalled..So frustrating

I agree. So early in the process your body is still freaking out and trying to figure everything out. I had a 3-week stall right between 3 & 4 months post op and I just decided that i wasn't going to freak out about it because I really had no option but to keep doing the things I knew I needed to do. After 3 weeks the scale started moving fast and furiously again. Hang in there!

    4 Months Post Op Pics

Great job...What Did u eat or What are u eating? You guys are awesome and such an encouragement!!! I just took these pics after being in a 3 week stall and was feeling pretty discouraged, so you all are a huge pick-me-up! Thankfully the scale started moving again and I entered ONERDERLAND today. Woohooo!!!! Anyway, to answer your questions...... I use myfitnesspal.com to track EVERY SINGLE THING I eat or drink. It helps me learn what works and what doesn't. I keep it simple really. I stick to my Protein goals (65-75g per day), Water goals (at least 8 8-oz glasses), and keep my carbs 30 or under, and low sugars/fats. As far as exercise, I really am only doing cardio for the time. I'm training for a 5K in April, so that has been my focus.

    sleeve failed

You're in the dreaded 3 week stall. Search for it under forums and there is a plethora of information to suggest how to buck it. I was in the 3 week stall for nearly 4 weeks. I'm 4 months out and have just got out of another 3 week stall. Its your body calibrating. Up your calorie levels a wee bit, no carbs, lots of water.. voila. It'll move again when your body is ready.

    4-month surgiversary

I'm 3.5 months out and I've lost 51 pounds since surgery 10/2 and 61 pounds since my preop appt 9/23. I started pretty slow but my weight loss has been picking up as of late. I have to admit the 2 and 3 week stalls really test your mind and spirit. I just usually curse at the scale and wait it out! LOL! SW:263 CW: 212 GW:150-160 (I plan to go into maintenance mode between 155-160 then have plastics)

    4-month surgiversary

I had my first stall at week 3 and it lasted 3 weeks. I'm just getting over my second 3-week stall. I've learned that when I stall, it's usually because I need to add more calories. I've recently started eating six times a day. I'm taking in about 900-1000 calories and getting in at least 75 grams of protein.
  17. Today was my 1-month Post Op check, which is the first time I have seen my surgeon since surgery. I first met with a dietician and we just went over basic stuff- are you getting protein in, vitamins taken, liquids kept up, etc... Then I went upstairs and when my surgeon walked in, he said "Well, how much are you loving the sleeve?! You look amazing and you have cheekbones!" Haha... I told him to not let that fool him, it could very well be my new NARS blush! . He had a lot of nice things to say about me, which was nice to hear! Also, HE SAID I DIDNT HAVE TO TAKE MY CARAFATE ANYMORE!!! Thank goodness! That stuff is horrible! Oh, and I weighed this morning and I was exactly 245.0. My highest weight was 277 so I am down 32 lbs in a month. I'm happy with my progress so far and it appears I'm just getting out of my 3 week stall. That's all for now, just thought I would journal a bit today!

    Stress = Stall

I am on a 3 week stall at 3 months out. Does stress play a role on our weight loss? I have been under a huge amount of stress since before Christmas. I'm still not over eating or anything and yes I could eat cleaner but my calorie intake is still very low.

    December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

Awesome job!! Just think where we are going to be this time next year!!! Hotties!!! Can't wait!! How are you doing?I'm feeling really good almost back to normal however the scale on the other hand is not good I'm assuming it's the dreaded 3 week stall all the vets talk about I've only shown a 2 oz loss in the last 3 days. I know it will pass but it's so frustrating.
  20. I'm also in 3 week stall. I knew about it from reading so many posts on here. It's still discouraging to not see the scale move. We will get through it!
  21. You're experiencing the much dreaded and always frustrating 3-week stall. Almost everyone stalls out at 3 weeks. I had great loss for the first 17 days and then it's been periods of loss followed by longer periods of no loss. I think this is just the way it's going to be. I always felt I could eat more Soup, I just stopped with my measured amount. You definitely feel the restriction when you eat dense Protein. Your experience sounds completely normal. No worries!
  22. Don't panic, your body is just adjusting to the new regime and there is such a thing as the 3 week stall - which you have now experienced! Best advice is to stick with your plan - Protein, sipping and moving - and your weight loss will keep going. It's not necessarily going to be huge amounts on a weekly basis but over a month you will probably lose a good amount. But for now, don't lose hope, you're not failing and you're not going to. Hang in there, there are lots of us who are ahead of you who have been through exactly what you're going through and we succeeded. So you will you :-))))
  23. So with the exception of the 3 week stall I've been rockin my sleeve! Between thanksgiving and New year's eve I lost almost 20lbs. Then I started doing Zumba and I've hit a wall. Nothing major but ill be 11 weeks post op tomorrow and I'm just wondering if the exercise has put my body into some kind of shock or if I'm heading into a stall or something. I haven't gone 5 days without losing anything since early on. With regard to stalls , (which I understand are normal), I'm curious about what's typical. I am 5'5 started at about 250lbs. Three week stall with tiny losses until about 6 weeks. Then 5 weeks of non stop awesome loss. Now stuck at 201.2-201.7 lbs. For 5 days. Just curious about your thoughts on my progress and where I should go from here. If I am heading into an actual stall, how long does it usually last at this point? Also, I am about 1 week away from TOM. Thanks
  24. well I got over the 3 week stall!!! I am now on week 4 pureed foods but not even hungry for them. Getting my 64 gms of protein, and drinking my fluids. Lost 2 lbs so far this week!!! YAY!!!!

    Fort Worth Buddies?

I agree I'm scared to death I've done this and I won't use the tool... Doesn't help that I've been at the same weight for the better part of a week. I know there is a 3 week stall that a lot of people talk about, but since day 7 I have lost more than 1/2 a pound.... For the last 3 days I have been very focused on getting moving...
