My stall finally broke. It didn't last long compared to some others, but since I thought I'd have rapid weight loss the first month, it was discouraging. Reading about people's stall experience on here helped. My surgery was 3/23/23 (195lbs) and I think my stall started on 4/4 when I weighed 188.4 (12 day avg .55lbs a day). I started gaining and losing. On 4/9 I weighed 187.8 (5 day avg .12lb a day) and stayed there for a couple days before starting to gain/lose and settled on 187.6 on 4/15 and 4/16 (7 days avg .029lb a day) . On 4/17 I lost .6, then .2, then .4, and .2 yesterday and .2 today (5 day avg .32lbs a day). Slower than the first 12 days, but it's going down again. I've lost a total of 9 lbs in 29 days, but I'm hoping that now that the stall is broke and I can walk without back pain, the next month will be more encouraging.

Today was my 2-week post op appointment and it went well. My incisions healed nicely and have minimal pain, except on the far right. Initially that worried me but was I assured the pulling sensation and stinging was normal. (A deep stich was placed there.) Also down 13 pounds post op
I was cleared to exercise more and now on soft food phase. I started today with one large egg whipped with a bit of skim milk then scrambled and topped with small amount of shredded cheese. It tasted good but no restriction or feeling of fullness. Lunch was 1/4 cup of low-fat cottage cheese with 1 slice of a canned peach. Again, no restriction. I'm starting to wonder....
Full liquid was understandable since it flows right through so surprised me that I felt nothing eating solid food. But....it's day one so...

Less than a week before gastric bypass surgery. I'm nervous but excited. Been lurking here for a while, reading. I'm about ready as I'm going to get. Down 20 pounds in 3 months. A ton of pre op testing done and cleared. Food/drinks, chewable vitamins, protein, meds bought. On 2-week preop diet now which includes 2 protein shakes a day along with 3 ounces lean protein and 2 1/2 C. non starchy veggies and is totally do able for me. Clear liquid day before surgery. A full sugar Gatorade night before and again 2 hrs before arriving at the hospital. Interesting how different everyone's diets are depending on your doctor.
I'm optimistic all will go well. Good luck to the April surgeries happening this month and to all that are going through the process. {{hugs}}
