Hi everyone -- I just wanted to share an NSV ... I'm not sure why this one made me feel so good, but it did. Maybe because I had a slight unfill today and am concerned about gaining weight. Anyone, I'm thisclose to being two-thirds of the way to my goal (about a 1/2 pound away) and have lost about 5 sizes of clothing. As a consultant, I spend lots of time with clients, and one client in particular that I have been working with for almost 2 years, so they've seen me yo-yo a bit. Today, I was talking to one of the secretaries and before I hung up she said "Hey, I heard you lost a ton of weight and look great. I have not seen you in a while, but that is the rumor here." Again, not sure why this one was so nice to hear, but it was fun to be part of the rumor mill for my clients. As a side note, I tore ligaments in my ankle in May and spent the summer in a boot. As September came around, I finally bought so clothes that actually fit and started wearing two matching shoes. A ton of people have commented how much better I look with 2 matching shoes, I think the real difference is the 79 pounds, but I'll take the matching shoes too! Saturday is my younger sister's wedding and I am actually not dreading the photos, not really looking forward to it, but not dreading it. Both of my sisters have the opposite issue than me (aneroxia) so I will still look huge, but not as huge as before. Thanks for reading this super long post. Cynthia

Yes, to echo what Vinesqueen has suggested, if getting through one day seems to big then try one hour. Anything to help keep you focused. And dont forget the NSV (God I love them!!) Best thing you have done is to share your delima here. The support this forum has to offer is worth all of the M&M's ever made!!! I find a little something in every post I read. Just keep on truckin Kel, you'll get there! Cheers!! -
I have been training for 4 months. I finally with the help of my trainer did the grouse grind in vcr bc. I took 1:45 min, thought I would die, but like child birth, am going to try again nextweek. I am really lucky to have a personal trainer (2xweek) and go on my own 4 days a week. Grouse is a 35% grade, 2.9 km up the moutain. also nsv, I went dancing that night, a people that have not seen me since my surgery, did not know me. I feel great!

What a week! <A style="MARGIN-BOTTOM: 1em; FLOAT: right; MARGIN-LEFT: 1em; CLEAR: right; cssfloat: right" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-XY28b1Yte7Y/Tc7ls5jjiFI/AAAAAAAAALw/fV5JfT8plVw/s1600/treadmill.gif" imageanchor="1">Well I have had an exhausting week! I went back to work on Monday! OH BOY! I have so much catching up to do (Paperwork)! I must tell you how nice it is though; I went back to work and the folks (developmentally/intellectally challenged) were so happy to see me! They showered me with hugs and kisses! It made me feel so good to know I make that much of an impact on their lives! I am so happy to get back into routine and I missed work so much! It is just great to be back! So let's get to business! This pic over here on the left is me last week! I took this pic and was amazed at what I saw! I was looking at this pic and feeling proud of all the things I went through to get to this point! Going through everything I did... it was a HUGE eye opener! It really makes you cherish life for what it is worth! I went to the Lung Dr. this week! I have a major NON SCALE VICTORY (NSV)... I am no longer on my inhalers for Asthma! This is HUGE! HUGE!!! My numbers are excellent! My Dr. could tell I was exercising cause my pulse and blood pressure were much lower than they ever had been! I am so much HEALTHIER! That is all I wanted out of all this! To be Healthy! Guess what.... I AM! I must tell you how much I have missed "FOOD"! I am stickin to my healthy lifestyle though and making good choices! I am actually eating a meal! Not a few bites; A MEAL! I am still trying to stear clear of the Carbs!!! Those are my worst enemy! Cause I love them oh so much! I have been walking! EVERY DAY I walk! I am now up to 3 miles a day! It takes me about 45 minutes to walk! But boy it feels GREAT! I love the rush it gives me; the way I feel after! It really makes me proud to know I can walk 3 miles! Then I come home and do a bit of resistance bands for some toning! I am getting into a great workout routine! This week was my first week really doing this on my own again! Back to Weight Watchers! So I really thought I would have gained because of the amount of food I had been eating! I lost .6 this week! I keep thinking to myself it is better than NOTHING!!! But I guess because I was so used to the big weight losses every week, I was a bit bummed! I feel good though! I am proud of myself! A total of 89.4!! Wooo Hooo Well I hope everyone is doing well! I have been so busy I am really falling behind on blogging! I haven't read blogs in about a week! Shame on me! Well till next time! Take care and stay healthy! ~Mandy

I have also noticed a little tenderness when I do Zumba. I found that if i put on a spandex sleeveless body shirt it helps. I picked it up from kohls for less the 15 bucks. Helps keep that extra skin in also. But I will tell you make sure you get the cotton blend one. The one that is all spandex is way to hot. Good luck and congrats on NSV.

Hey...If The Shoe Fits!

GOOD NEWS ! ! ! Feet shrink too. At least mine have, and they've shrunk tremendously. I wore a solid 8-8.5W pre-op, today I wear a comfortable 7 (normal width). I think the only reason I need an 8-8.5 is because my foot was wide like a wooden boat, I also have flat feet, with a high instep so to squeeze my "Fred Flintstone" feet, as my lovely husband calls them (how I'd like to strangle him), into decent shoes I needed the extra length to accommodate the fatness of my feet. One of my most profound NSVs: Being able to see all the tiny bones in my feet, and to have space in between my toes without spreading out my toes. I had little sausages for toes, now their boney and I actually have toenails that look good polished LOL ! ! ! -
That is awesome!!!! My NSV for today is that I took the baby to the Fall Festival. It was in a big field and I walked around for 45 minutes going to all the booths and seeing the games. When we got home she wanted to go for a walk. I was talking on the phone and didn't realize that we did 3 laps around the neighborhood! She was in her little car and I was walking. Just a month ago, I couldn't make it around the neighborhood once without my back and knees screaming at me. YAY for NSVs!!! It makes the stall a bit more bearable.

Today was the first time that someone who doesn't know about the surgery has noticed my weight loss! My friends who know about the surgery are REALLY watching me, to see if they can see the weight falling off. I'm almost self-conscious that I haven't lost "enough" to "show" them or something. But today, I was walking down my driveway, and my neighbour stopped me and commented that I've been getting thinner, and good on me! YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!! You couldn't wipe the smile off my face for about 3 hours! :D

Yesterday I went to an NFL game with hubby. When I walked through the turnstile...I didn't have to turn sideways! I just walked straight through and didn't bump into anything!!! So love my sleeve!!! Living the dream, Laura

I have had this box of clothes in the bottom of my closet since before surgery (June 21 2010) I couldnt even get the pants in this box over my hips then.... Well since I hit 199 this week I said what the hey lets try these clothes on.... and THEY FIT!!!! not to mention some of them are toooooooooo big!!!!! Guess I should have tried them on earlier!!!!!!!!!! Now I have a nice "new" outfit to wear to work tomorrow that actually fits instead of having my clothes fall off of me!!!! I love this band!!!

Very disappointing Surgeon Check-up
texashopeful replied to tbarnes18's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I too was disappointed with my follow up appointments. Everyone was super nice, but I have still not met the actual dietician, always a nurse. Several of them had the procedure done, but I don't feel like I am loosing like I should either...I would like to ask the dietician a few questions. I haven't lost a lb or inch in over a week! I actually went up and then back to the original place, and my BMI is very high, so I thought I should loose quickly. The nurse said I was on the right track, and my body was thinking it was starving so it's holding on. She said likely it will start going back down. I haven't had a single thing that wasn't high in protein or on the list, so I am quite frustrated. I got 2 books (1 from my Dr. and 1 from the hospital) and they don't say the same things about food. She said to follow my Dr. book, but it doesn't go into much detail. It is so confusing and a little frustrating. I keep telling myself that I am heading to be a skinny me, so I need to figure out what works for my skinny version. Did anyone else "stall" for a week or 2? No NSV's either...I haven't lost a single inch in over a week. -
November 26th Check In :)
BroadwayBaby replied to wondering1's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am down 2.4 lbs this week to 191.8 - just 2 ounces shy of my Thanksgiving goal. I hope to get into the 180's by next week - haven't been there in about 13 years! I had a great NSV yesterday. I am a singer and do a lot of gigs every Nov/December with people that I only really see during that time of year. I sang with one of the women last night and she asked me if I had lost some weight. I told her that I had lost 50 lbs and she said that when had I arrived at the gig she didn't even recognize me. That made me feel great! -
I can finally fit my bum in the bucket seat of our new car. Well we bought it brand new a year ago. My butt was so wide that it didn't fit within the curvature of the fancy leather seats. Also the seat belt latch would dig into my hip. I am 2.5 months postop, have lost 45lbs and 2 inches off my bum/ hips area. I am thrilled! My hubbub drives that car regularly so I haven't sat in the seat in about a month. My usual driver is a trailblazer and I have always had plenty of butt room in there. Oh and another NSV is when I sit in our recliner I have space on each side of me. Love it!

Yay!! LOVE those NSVs!!!
