  1. Hi- just wondering if you didn’t experience the infamous 3 week stall, when did it show up? And I’ve read it can last 1-3 weeks. Any variations on that out there?
  2. Five-week follow-up for gastric bypass and now on lifetime food plan. No restrictions.  In all that time I was fortunate to get sick only one time, week 1, on Easter. Chicken broth...go figure.

  3. so first the picture... i dont like showing my face online... so sorry. But yea starting weight 317lb and size 57 pants and 4XL shirt Now 186lb size 34 pants and size large shirt which is a little big So before surgery i did not date for a very long time. I was really big and really never found anyone interested in me. Now almost 1 year and 1 month after surgery i get hit on a ton... and for me being a guy that is awesome. Literally had 2 girls at work fighting over me which was insane. Had to put a stop to it because it was getting bad lol. But wow. i swear if i was taller than 5'4 i would probably get hit on more haha. But its nice. My best friend said to buy a wedding band and wear it to stop them from hitting on me lol. But its nice noticing girls looking and not looking at me like ewwww he is huge.
  4. It sucks to not see the scale moving. It makes me feel like im failing. I know it's normal, but ahh! I only lost 39.5 pounds since surgery (2/21/23). What could I be doing wrong? What could I do to get it moving again? Am I eating too many calories? I don't even know how many calories I'm supposed to be having. I don't have anything in my papers. One things for sure, a lot of stuff doesn't feel like I get restriction? The only thing I can't eat really so far is bread, pancakes/waffles. That I know of. I know each meal is supposed to be 3 to 4 ounces. How do you guys figure out your entire meal size. 2oz protein, 1 ounce veggies, 1 ounce starch? Ugh. My next appointment is the 25th or 26th

    Stall

I had gastric bypass 4/19 and hit my first stall. I know this happens and was prepared by my medical team to expect it but I’m still worried. My personal experience has been SO easy, I’m almost worried this is the other shoe to drop, so to speak, and 20lbs is all I’ll lose after surgery. Thoughts?

    Stall?

I am 5.5 months out from mini bypass and wondering if I am in a stall. I haven’t had one yet but it’s been 15 days since I’ve lost anything. I’ve also noticed my restriction not kicking in - is that normal? Does that mean I’ve stretched my stomach?
  8. Hi, I had a sleeve on 4/25. Still on protein shake and clear liquid diet. I haven’t lost any weight in the last 3 days. Doing everything right, walking 30 min, having my protein shakes. Still working on getting my liquids to at least 64 oz. Having around 45-50 oz a day. Scale is not moving! Any suggestions?
  9. Hello Everyone, This is my 3rd week post-op and I've finally switched to soft foods!! However, I have gained 2 pounds. I'm still only having around 2 oz of food per meal. The only new items I've added are shredded chicken and low fat string cheese. Someone please tell me this is normal. I'm eating enough to gain 2 pounds but not enough to have a bm, what the heck!
  10. I’m at a loss and not a good one. I’m 2 months post-op and the scale has not moved in 4 or 5 weeks. I’m back in the gym (competitive lifter) but not lifting heavy (130lb deadlift to start). I will admit that my diet can use some work. I’ve been under some extreme stress from work and a have not been sleeping well. I want to cry everytime I hop on the scale hoping for some movement only to be stuck in the same 2-3 lb range. My surgeon hopes for more weight loss during my 1 month appointment so I can’t even imagine what she will say when I go back in 4 weeks. I just don’t know what to do.
  11. I had my surgery on Nov 29, 2022. Things have been going really well then boom the dreaded stall has hit. I haven't lost anything in about 6 weeks. I have been monitoring what I am eating, making sure i get in the vitamins and protein. I do need to increase my exercise, I am so worn out after working all day. I am seeking any suggestions on how to break thru this stall. It is driving me crazy.....

  13. My stall finally broke. It didn't last long compared to some others, but since I thought I'd have rapid weight loss the first month, it was discouraging.  Reading about people's stall experience on here helped.  My surgery was 3/23/23 (195lbs) and I think my stall started on 4/4 when I weighed 188.4 (12 day avg .55lbs a day).  I started gaining and losing. On 4/9 I weighed 187.8 (5 day avg .12lb a day) and stayed there for a couple days before starting to gain/lose and settled on 187.6 on 4/15 and 4/16 (7 days avg  .029lb a day) . On 4/17 I lost .6, then .2, then .4, and .2 yesterday and .2 today (5 day avg .32lbs a day). Slower than the first 12 days, but it's going down again.  I've lost a total of 9 lbs in 29 days, but I'm hoping that now that the stall is broke and I can walk without back pain, the next month will be more encouraging.

184.6 this am! 1.4lbs since yesterday. 🕺I'm on my way baby!

  14. Today was my 2-week post op appointment and it went well. My incisions healed nicely and have minimal pain, except on the far right. Initially that worried me but was I assured the pulling sensation and stinging was normal. (A deep stich was placed there.)    Also down 13 pounds post op :)

I was cleared to exercise more and now on soft food phase. I started today with one large egg whipped with a bit of skim milk then scrambled and topped with small amount of shredded cheese. It tasted good but no restriction or feeling of fullness.  Lunch was 1/4 cup of low-fat cottage cheese with 1 slice of a canned peach. Again, no restriction. I'm starting to wonder....

Full liquid was understandable since it flows right through so surprised me that I felt nothing eating solid food. But....it's day one so...

    Weight Stall

Hi Guys, Just curious on how people may have handled a weight stall? I'm five and half weeks post op, down 11kgs since surgery and i've not moved on the scales in the past week. I have gone back to work (retail) and have moved onto the minced/slow cooked foods part of my diet so i'm hoping this maybe playing a part it's just playing on my mind a bit. Has anyone got any tips to help getting refocused at all
  16. Today is my six week mark— I have officially lost half of the weight i need to lose to get me to a healthier weight— 12 lbs pre op, the rest since surgery date of 3/3. I am really pleased with my progress so far, still focusing on fluids and protein, and trying to cut down to one protein shake a day vs two. Feeling good and enjoying shopping my closet and resisting buying anything new— goal is to get to 158 be end of April, and 148 by end of May. Fingers crossed the trend continues! Black tee is a day or two before surgery, white tee is today.
  17. Hi all, I am week 2 into my full liquid diet. I am feeling hungry almost every 1 or 1.5 hour. I can eat yogurt or drink a protein shake in 30-40 minutes, but sometimes still hungry. I’m averaging 72g of protein this week. I’m not sure if I’m having fathom hunger or I need to sip/eat more often. someone please help ease my mind.
  18. hello - I have been stalled since 3/23. My dietician wants me to up my calories. I am currently getting between 800-100 and she wants me at 1200-1500 a day. I have no idea how to add in another 300+/- calories that are not junk food. I eat 5x a day, plus one shake. I keep my carbs under 75 a day (under 20 per meal), fat under 60 (under 10 per meal), and sugar less than 25 for whole day, and avoid unneeded sugar (eg, sugar in milk or yogurt okay, but not sugar in skittles) I also get well over 100 g of protien a day. I am not working out because I am having positional lightheadedness, where my vision whites out when I go from sitting to standing randomly. I am getting 80+ ounces of fluid a day. yesterdays food: pure protien bar protien shake greek yogurt tuna (bumble bee quick catch, had tuna and pasta) a fake sushi roll (avocado carrots butter lettuce crab meat and lobster chucks wrapped in a rice paper) grilled ribs without sauce + lima beans. todays meal plan: quest cheddar crisps protien shake yogurt legendary pop tart artisan traders 2 egg omlet cups ribs and lima beans my restriction is still super strong, and i can barely get half a cup in per meal/. 6 months out from surgery. bouncing between 184-188 since 3/23
  19. Could any of you share the amount of weight you lost during the 2 week pre-op liquid diet? I’m curious because I’d started eating must healthier once I had my first consult with surgeon and dropped about 14 lbs leading up to my liquid pre-op diet over the course of 3 months…slow but steady. What happens if you fall below the 40 BMI requirement for insurance? I didn’t think to ask the nurse/dietitian when I went in for my work-up. On day 2 of pre-op diet now and think I’ll never want the taste of real chocolate again after this.
  20. Yes I'm 3 weeks post op and finally broke my stall I lost 3lbs since my first week I was happy for all the support last week while I was super stressed out about being the same weight for the past week I appreciate everyone who comment[emoji3590] Sent from my moto g power (2022) using BariatricPal mobile app
  21. I am 7 weeks post op and only lost 25 pounds. I haven’t lost a single pound in over 2 weeks. Has anyone else gone through this and then still continued to lose weight? I thought for sure by 8 weeks I would be down 35-40lbs. I am nervous about not losing anymore weight.
