RnY 10 years ago... back to where I started...
Tina Leonard posted a topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
Hey there! New to the forum, not new to the WLS world. Having an EGD tomorrow to check the status of my anasthemosis and to see if a revision is in order. (Truth: I am HOPING for a revision.) I am currently doing <1200 cals; +65 protein; <25 sugar; standard vitamins and calcium citrate. Anyone have a RnY revision ? Any EGD advice? I had one previously but it was during another (bigger) procedure so I don't know what the after was like. Thanks a million! Looking forward to getting to know you all. Tina -
Hi everyone! Hope you had a good week and that this one will be amazing too! This week, I am thankful to be on vacation for 4 days in one of my favorite places. I’m thankful for the weight I have lost making it so I don’t get winded and have to stop repeatedly while carrying my luggage. I’m thankful that I’ll be able to keep very close to on plan while on vacation thanks to careful preparation. And I am so thankful to be out of the office and away from that stress until Friday. How about you?

Lunch with the gals. Want to milk dress-wearing weather for as long as I can, but at the same time am totally looking forward to boot-wearing weather. Got to do both: Win! P.S. I am not a fan of my knees. But whatevs. -
Hey there! Coming back with a new Thankful Thread for this week after taking last week off. What are the things you are thankful for this week? I am thankful for so many kind, compassionate, and uplifting voices on this site and the knowledge that they possess and share. I'm thankful for finding some amazing 1-Carb low-cal tortillas and being able to share them with others here. I think I am going to pick up a rotisserie chicken from the store tonight and a jar of enchilada sauce just so I can keep using them. I'm thankful that I'll be taking a small vacation next week and visiting one of my favorite places again. There's some stress about COVID, but I've got a game plan to keep the risk to myself minimal. I'm thankful that I have lost enough weight that I can go hike in the woods for 2 hours and not feel completely sore and exhausted afterwards. How about you?

I had gastric bypass Nov 2019. Since its been uncomplicated except for an ulcer found 2 months ago, and the inability to eat enough protein or drink enough liquids. Anyway I'm now having lower left abdominal pain . Any idea of what could be going on?

First time dining at a restaurant INDOORS since March. Our friends knew the restaurant owner so they hooked us up with a private room, so it wasn’t as anxiety-inducing. Could only stay for 3 hours though as the room was booked for a bigger group. Ah well, beggars can’t be choosers, and a good time was still had. P.S. it was a Brazilian Steakhouse and I definitely did not eat my money’s worth. Good thing Mr. eats like a (very hungry) horse so he made up for it, lol -
Not lost any weight for 10 days. I feel like poop.
MoominMan posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Had bypass on August 10. Between then and Sept 08 I lost 14.6 kg (32 pounds) - but since then nothing. It's now been 10 days since I lost any weight and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Wondering if I should cut back on portion sizes (I have a small breakfast but lunch and dinner are around 150-200g each). -
10 months out bathroom problems?
Isabelmonster posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I’m pretty sure everyone is gonna say it’s normal but is it really I’m 10 1/2months out and I’m still having constipation problems... is this going to be a life long problem and has anyone had to be on medication to poop every days for months on end? I really hope I’m not the only one and hopefully others will stay it gets better in the years out. I don’t know how much torture I can put my bum through 😔 yes I do get about 25g of fiber more or less and I’m not a very big eater anymore like food is sooo much more less appealing, I just feel like this surgery did a number on me. -

10 year band out 6 months, RNY/bypass next? Looking for success stories
SkinnyKathy posted a topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
Hello all, I was banded in 2008 at 433 lbs and lost 250 pounds to get my weight down to ~180 in a few years. Kept the band almost 10 years but the acid reflux got too bad and I had to have it removed a little over 6 months ago. My weight had been creeping up to 240 before the lap band removal and up to 280 now. I am strongly considering the RNY but am concerned about the permanent rearrangement of my insides. That's why I went with the band in the first place, because it was reversible. I am concerned about developing malnourishment, although I am good about taking supplements (which I do every day even now with no bariatric surgery in place). I am looking for success stories. Who has had their band removed and then put in a RYN and had a good experience? I need to lose at least 100 pounds now and want to keep it off for life this time. -
I've lost 45kg total since my sleeve in October 2019 and I feel amazing! Still have days when I feel big, but then I take pictures like this and think holy cow! I've been doing bodypump classes and I'm even seeing some baby muscles in my arms and legs, and it's really helped with my loose skin. Now to work on maintaining, which has always been the hard part of weight loss for me.

3 weeks post op, 10 pounds down. Is that good?
Julie1292 posted a topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I am 3 weeks post RYN conversion from sleeve for bile reflux and a large hiatal hernia repair. I am down 10 pounds, and I happy about that but honestly I have lost that (or more) on Weight Watchers eating 1,800 calories. I am averaging 600-650 calories. Getting 64 grams of protein. Basically sugar free, getting my water and walks.... am I over reacting, or does 10 pounds seem kind slow....? -
ESG Procedure 8/19 - Liquid Phase Tips
nolo56788 posted a topic in Endoscopic Sleeve Gastroplasty Forum
Hi everyone! New to the forum! I just got an ESG procedure done in Virginia (so far so good if looking for a recommendation!) So I'm currently 4 days post op. I haven't felt the urge to eat/drink/ anything which I know is just as bad as eating the wrong thing so I was wondering if anyone has some recipes or tips to get through the liquid phase. Never thought I'd crave scrambled eggs haha Thanks! -
I hour away from going to the hospital. Nervous, feel like I need to use the bathroom but nothing comes out. Wish I could leave now and get it over.

Post op day 6 & I’m just surviving! Sleeve date 8/10!
brianna_the_banana posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Woot woot! So proud of myself for getting through the surgery! This was actually my first. Here are some things that I have noticed, so tell me if you’ve experienced the. As tell! 1) My stomach growls! Like a lot. It kind of sounds like hunger growling, but I’m not hungry. Maybe it’s just my body saying “thank you for finally doing something about this weight”. But either way, those digestive sounds are active and that’s a very good sign!! 2a) The pain is... different. I’ve always been a “stomach sleeper”, but currently doing so is almost unbearable. So I’ve been forced to sleep on my back. That, combined with the ferocious gas that I still have is like a personal F*#K YOU to my spine! Haha. 2b) The pain in the front.. is it even pain? If I’m laying down, it’s like I can almost forget that I’ve even had any surgery. But God forbid that I need to get up! Feels like there’s a cork screw in my right side, going as deep as it can! I think I’ll just stay in bed for a while. 3) SLEEP! Oh my goodness am I sleeping a lot! I tried to get some good exercise on Friday during the day & was able to walk for an entire hour without any nausea or pain! But that night, I slept for almost 20 hours! I have to remind myself that my body is in a state of shock, I’m not consuming nearly half the calories I did a month ago, and that it’s OKAY to rest. That’s what I need the most. -
Updated Lawsuit: Built Bar Fired Worker Who Raised COVID-19 Concerns
JessLess posted a topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
So, the Built Bar site has been down and since I loved them, I have been lurking around waiting for them to reopen. They tasted pretty good and most of them had 110 calories. Turns out Updated Lawsuit: Built Bar Fired Worker Who Raised COVID-19 Concerns. So forget them. What's a good, low calorie protein bar that tastes good? And yes, I realize these are about as nutritious as candy bars, but for 110 calories, they were working out for me.- 2 replies

Hi everyone, I am becoming desperare and I have no idea what to do. I had gastric sleeve on 20 Nov 2019. Starting weight was 118 kg now I am 93 kg since 15 April. I am 31 years old. A nutritionist told me I don't eat enough and this might be the issue. Are there any people who went throught this? I don't know what I am doing wrong though I suspect I am undereating because....hunger almost disappeared some 3 months ago. While I feel very good at the current weight yesterday someone told me "oh your surgery must not have been successful since you've plateau for so long" and hearing this just hurts. Any tips? Has anyone been in a similar situation? A million thanks in advance and may we all keep up the good work! Roxy

I’ve leveled out after losing nearly half my weight. Doing stuff I love to do now. 2nd pic is me after surgery on pain meds. 1st is this weekend. Deathly afraid of going back up as I never want to be back at my old weight. (Xxxl to med, size 48 to 34). Its an amazing tool and I JUST NOW got to where I knew it was the right decision.
