Today I went to do some Christmas shopping. Needed to get some clothes for my son who is over 6 foot tall and quite a big young man. So I went to the Men's "BIG AND TALL" clothes store, we're I used to be a steady customer. It's an upscale place, and they keep all their customers in the computer along with all their clothing sizes. I was not certain of my son's sizes, so the salesman had the young girl look it up in the computer. When she put my last name in, 2 first names came up. She asked "Tim or Bob?" I said "Tim". She asked, "who is Bob?". "I'm Bob" I replied. She stood there and stared at me for a very long time, as though my answer was illogical. "No, really. Who's Bob?". "ME!" She just rolled her eyes as though she was not going to get anywhere with me, and said "whatever" and continued with her business. She must have thought I was difficult, which is the last thing she needed with all the Christmas crowds.

Yet Another Silly Success
goalseeker replied to ☠carolinagirl☠'s topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
That is an awesome NSV!! It's the little things that keep us going when the scale is sometimes a meanie lol -
Hey Girlfriends, I had surgery 29 Aug. I have had one fill of 0.7cc. Not feeling too much restriction but trying my best to stay on track. It's a hard thing to do. I've lost 39 lbs. I've hired a personal trainer who has put 5lbs of muscle on me which is good. From 23 Sept to now, I've lost 2 1/2 inches off my waist and 1 inch off each thigh! Now, I'm learning to appreciate NSV (non-scale victories). I'm grateful to God that He allowed me to take this path. Let's hear some more updates!

Nice NSV!!

Wooooo Hoooo! I loved your NSV's.....Not that I exactly know what that means....Non ___________ Victories? They inspired me. Especially the one about being able to cross your legs. That will be a BIG deal for me on the day it happens. It's been years since I've been able to do that. Happy Anniversary, Mandy!

This is an NSV only someone who has a couple hundred lbs to lose could appreciate: I was in my office meeting with a new client today. The client was also a large-sized female. She went to sit in a chair in my office that had arms on it, and she could not fit into it. I could completely empathaze with her, because that has happened to me on many occasions. So, I quickly got her another chair with no arms so she could be more comfortable. After she left, I sat down in the chair with arms, and I fit in it very comfortably. For me, this is a big deal, because for the longest time I had to think before I sat in a strange chair, trying to figure out if I would fit. Now, I know that I can. Hopefully there are similar revelations to come as I lose more weight. I am so glad I got the band!! :frown:

Alex, (laughing) The technician told me not to weigh for a week, but instead wear the same pants and see if they fit better. I laughed at him and told him straight up, "Listen Pal, if I lose any weight, I'm certainly not giving credit to your lasers!" I only tried it hoping it might reduce appetite and for cravings. Last night I didn't crave anything but that's because Chris hadn't smoked all afternoon and was holding me hostage in the bedroom trying to kill me. Today we let the monster sleep. I'm considering drugging him. Poor guy. They gave him a 2 page list of cigarette ingredients. He was really pissed at the list and tossed it grumbling, "Everyting from rat poison to dog tranquilizers in f-ing cigs, trying to kill me." CJ has called several times bugging us to see how it works. I keep telling him to stop bugging us before he drives Chris over the edge and just go spend his gift certificate already. He's the one that started this, but he's such a heavy smoker that the thought of quitting scared he heck out of him. I hate smoke. I have no idea why it's even legal. Can't smoke pot, snort coke, shoot up heroine, but people drop dead from cigs every minute, and that's just fine. This is why I hate politics. NSV ALERT - I'M ON MY PUTER WITH MY LEGS CROSSED! CROSSED I SAY!

So I bought my very first bikini yesterday! My skin on my stomach is a little saggy so I'm nervous to wear it but I'll work up the courage one day! This is a total NSV!

Hello everyone, Massachusetts here....I just wanted to post my feelings, this site does help me get through the days waiting...You are all great and very helpful and inspiring...I have started the process not so long ago...I am self pay and wouldn't even think twice about not paying for it....To be thinner and healthier and enjoy my life is priceless no matter how much I have to work to pay for it...I have gotten my letter from my PCP and attended my first info session...My consultation is next Tuesday (10/24),wish me luck, then on Wednesday (10/25) is my mental health evaluation, then the following week is my nutritional evaluation, so I definately got the ball rolling but waiting is awful but I come on this site everyday and find at least one inspiring story, picture, nsv, or something that helps me to see that that will be me soon enough....I do once and awhile think what if something happens that I get denied...That is just the worry wart that I am...But in the end I jst cannot wait to be 100 pounds thinner someday and finally get to enjoy my life to the fullest.....

I just got back from a mini vacation at my childhood best friend's house. She lives just outside Cincinnati and you can see King's Island's Eiffel Tower from the end of her street. I haven't seen her and her family since they came home (Columbus) for Christmas. At that time, I'd lost about 55-60 pounds. Now, I've lost 80-85 pounds. At Christmas, her 9 y/o son kept bragging about how he can and will ride any and all roller coasters at King's Island. He threw me a challenge and I accepted. I have to admit that I was extremely nervous about getting back on a roller coaster because the last time I tried to ride a roller coaster (2004), I couldn't fit in the seat and had to leave the loading area in front of EVERYONE. Needless to say, that was VERY embarrassing! Well, I am extremely proud to report that I FIT ON EVERY RIDE WITH ROOM TO SPARE! :puke:    We rode the Diamondback, Invertigo, Italian Job, and Adventure Express coasters and a few other rides. We went to the park after 5pm and the lines were really short. I had a blast!

Alert! Nsv alert!
lauragshsu replied to sweetbean70's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Awesome NSV! I've never had that experience, but I have had one wheere we were tubing down a faux river at a water park and I clogged up most of the area because my tube kept sinking with me on it, and wasn't floating. I told DH that it's my goal to go there next summer and float along. -
Congratulations!!! This is a great NSV an one of my own goals as well. I've done the walk of shame after not fitting in a seat and I hope by nest season I'll be ready to go too. Congratulations again and keep on losing and racking up those NSV!!!

When I was pregnant, I had to go for weekly Biometric scans at the perinatal center at the hospital. I had gestational diabetes and learned to get an NRGize meal-replacement shake - "PBJ" from the cafe. It's 520 calories, 48g Protein, and I could suck one down VERY easily while waiting to be called in. Today, my mate is in hospital for cardiac testing and I stopped by the cafe, knowing I could get a good healthy shake. I figured I'd drink it slowly. I got maybe 6-7oz into it (it's ~24 oz) and decided... UGH I AM SO DONE. YAAAYYY!!!

Congrats on your NSV!

First CONGRATS on your NSV and that outfit does look great on you!!!! I only found out about that collection last week while watching a youtube video of someone I subscribe to and she had a few pieces from that collection in it. I fell in love with a tank top and when I went online to ebay to see if they had it I was shocked at how much they were asking for the top. If I knew it would fit the way I like it I would have purchased one, but not knowing how it would fit, there was no way I was spending that kind of money on one top.

Aren't NSVs wonderful!!! Congratulations! Emily

This has been a great week so far! Random woman who I don't know but see most weeks at my son's swimming lesson told me I look awesome and she can really tell I am working hard! Thanks so much lady - I am working hard! Today is my birthday and my husband bought me a bunch of workout clothes - which are too big! This is not his fault I told him the size to buy- down from a tight fitting 26/28 to an 18/20! Also, the fact that I asked for workout clothes for my birthday. This morning I also wanted to treat myself to Starbucks. I had planned to order the new Salted Caramel Mocha which I tasted when my sister had one the other day. Delish! Well, when I pulled up in the drive thru they have the calories listed. NO WAY! 580 calories. No thank you! I ordered a Skinny vanilla Latte! 160 calories! It was just as delish (thats what I keep trying to tell myself anyway ) I also broke out the fall/winter clothes and shoes. Well, almost all of my shoes are too big!!! So excited - I get to go shoe shopping! WOOHOO! Hope you all enjoy your day!

I wore a 40 DD before being banded 3 months ago. Now I am a 38 C and wearing cute, strapless tops and dresses.
