    NSV for me

I got my pressure checked yesterday and it was fine. I have saying for months that I was going to get it checked. I will not wait and put it off like that again. I am not making the best food choices right now but I am conscious of what I am eating. I did not workout yesterday so I built up a sweat sorting throught clothes. I was able to actually thrown some clothes out, box some up for someone else and hang up so old thing that now fit again. I have on a top today that was once too tight but today it is baggy. I had my ex boyfriend button down shirt in the closet so I tried it on and guess what....it buttoned up and was tight at the bottom button. Woohooooo who would have thought....I'm happy.....this feels good. I am going to do this, I know I am. I'm not going to waste anymore time of my life being overweight and unhappy.

    June 05 Bandsters...

Hello June 05 bandsters...Can you believe it's been a year? How has your year been? Mine has been successful still working on getting to goal but I am alot closer then I was a year ago. I have so many NSV's and I love my life now so much. I have been giving the chance to actually work for my surgeon now and it's wonderful. The only bad thing that has happened this year is my port flipped in March but it's ok that was easy to get fixed. Hope you all have had a great year and are as happy with your desicion as I have been with mine.

May 2006 Band Crew ~ June Chat

Linda ~ I was going to try some turkey breast tonight.....maybe I'll hold off. I'm a bit scared after your experience. Glad to hear that you are doing better. Bless you heart....pamper yourself. Trip2beme ~ I "try" to eat slowly and stop when I'm full. Maybe I should try the timer thing to make sure I go slow. DeAnn ~ Are you only able to eat 1 oz per meal? Put a lot of thought into getting a fill if you are that restricted. Great NSV on the 3 yr old clothes....that must feel wonderful!! :biggrin1: Thanks for the info on your yard. I will pass that info along.

    Questions About Postings 7 Terms

NSV means something you consider to be a victory that's not coming from the numbers on a scale. Things like compliments, getting into smaller clothes, easier mobility, getting off meds, etc. They're related to your weightloss in a broad sense. SV would be something directly related to what your scale says, more like reaching a goal weight or weightloss milestone, or finally crossing out of the 200s and into the 100s.

    New NSV for ME!

NSV for me Saturday! My Mom and I went to Kohl's to look at clothes for her. She was wanting some capri pants. I told her I bought some on sale there in size 14 petite. She said that is the same size she wears. I took her over to the petite department and showed her the capris. She took two pair in the dressing room to try on. She came out and said they are too small I need the non-petite. """I am officially smaller then my mom!""" WooHoo!

Gone for Good Club - June 2006

Emilee - wow girl! What a cool NSV to walk in a store and buy off the rack! You give everyone such encouragement -- looking fantastic, smiling and losing!!! Thanks for sharing!
  14. Mago look at these numbers......78 pounds gone...that is how many 10 pound sacks of potatoes......almost 8. Can you carry 8 bags of potatoes. To reach your goal you have about 8 bags of potatoes to put down. How are you going to put the rest of the bags down........... Tell me where can I go to read about all of your NSV's because you are over 40 inches smaller....? Your bandiversary is coming up in a matter of about 2 months......can we make that a nice 95 pounds gone?

Eillen, sorry you have a cold. I sure hope you feel better fast! Betty, what's wrong with your ankle/foot? Did I miss that part somewhere? Like you said, it's hard to keep up on here, especially when I'm watching the MAVS take it to the HEAT! ARe they ON or what!? Sorry Donna. Don't mean to boast. They'll be in Miami Tues and Thurs, so things may change for your team! Patty, I love your Disneyland stories! Sherry, hope your chili wasn't too intoxicating! Diane, I can see how that last trip would do you in! VBS was fun tonight...I was a helper in the music room, so I sang and danced for a couple of hours! It was fun, and the best part is that last year, there's no way I could have done it, so I guess that's a NSV! I won't be around a computer until Tuesday afternoon...after swimming lessons tomorrow we are going to my dad's. We are going to clean out some more of my mom's stuff and spend the night over there. Then on Tuesday, I have to go to school; it's an inservice day...I have one on Thursday, too. My sister's staying over at dad's too, and taking my DD to swimming. I'll check in when I can, though...I'll just never catch up with ya'll! Hugs, Cindy

an NSV I could do without

an NSV I could do without

Hum, I say get fitted for a nice expensive new bra, splurge on urself and get 2 of the same. Hummmm NSV I'd rather do without, my pants falling around my hips with my undies hanging out, while walking across a business intersection... :faint:
  19. Does anyone else have one of these? Mine is kind of embarassing and something only a fat girl can relate to. My bra keeps sliding up my back until it is right between my shoulders and my girls are looking... "depressed" This is so distressing for me. In Jr. High I had the same problem in reverse. My back was getting fatter and my bra would slide or roll up because it was just too small. I was just sure everyone noticed, they probably did. I know I should be overjoyed, now. This is happening because my back fat is no longer thick enough to hold the darn thing down. I am shrinking, slowly, but surely. I am going to accentuate the positive (and buy a new bra) while you all tell me your NSV's you would rather just skip.
  20. What a fantastic NSV!!! I can't even SEE that far down the road lol -- congrats!!! It is definitely a proud moment for you
  21. Wow: It finally happened. I went to a plus size chain store ( Avenue ) with my sisters today, and tried on pair after pair of pants, capris, skirts etc. I kept grabbing Size 14's. And they were all too big in the legs (I have enviably-shapely lower legs, but oh those Upper Thighs! ) and the waist. I tried to find size 12's (Avenue now carries some 10/12's in certain items) but they did not have any 12's in the items I looked for, the smallest was 14. (Now these are plus sizes of course, so really these were 14W's that were too big for me.) In fact, only one pair of slim-fitting cropped pants in size 14 actually fit me. They were on sale so I grabbed them but hopefully it will be one of the few 14's I ever have to buy, at least them. I know it sounds weird to celebrate not being able to fit 14's but for a tall, large framed gal like myself - it's a minor miracle. NSV, indeed. Happy Band (And Life) Journeys To All...

VICTORY - nsv & sort of sv

pfunkem - that is an awesome NSV! Truly, the weekends are my trouble time too! It is so easy to say well it's the weekend -- something I continue to work on. I ordered a 'wrap' Friday and Saturday for dinner while out - and found myself only able to eat 1/2 of the larger one Saturday nite and was able to say NO to chips, etc. It is so hard and I think you deserve LOTS of cheers!!! Way to go!!! Taking care of YOU!
  23. Backstory: A friend from high school came in town who I hadn't seen for four years. I had to go to her father's funeral, and we also were hanging out. It was my first time really letting go and having fun. So here are my NSVs 1) Started this journey at tight 28. Yesterday, had to go to a funeral - slipped on a size 22 no problem. Bit of a muffin-top issue, but my shirt was long/loose enough it didn't look funny. 2) After the funeral, food spread included: Turkey, ham, cheese, rolls (yum), carrot cake, chips & salsa. I had 2 slices turkey, 1 slice ham, and 2.5 slices cheese. NO BREAD!! 3) So I drank a fair amount of red wine yesterday... I think it ended up being around 3 glasses (probably ended up being around 200-300 calories). Well, after I was already basically tipsy/drunk, we went to another bar. I did not order another drink, which was good. Also, my friends ordered Pub Chips (delicious chips w/ seasoning, eat w/ ranch dressing). Even inebriated, I DID NOT PARTAKE!! 4) This morning I took her to my favorite Breakfast place (where they have like caramel pear french toast, and blts with eggs and pesto mayo - delicious). Well I ordered the smoked salmon wrap (smoked salmon, goat cheese, spinach, egg, tomato in a spinach tortilla) and subbed a house salad for the home fries. I ate 1/2 the wrap (fillings only), and about 1/2 the salad. And no bites of biscuits & gravy or strawberry pancakes! I rule! I realize a lot of these are "I didn't eat/drink X", but that is my hardest thing - to stick to the diet on the weekend, when I'm out, when I'm having fun, when I'm celebrating, when it's a special occasion - whatever. So it was really good for me to be able to say "This is a special occasion, and I can drink 3 glasses of wine, but it doesn't need to be 3 glasses of wine, plus pub chips, and rolls, and pancakes, etc." OH, and the SV: I woke up this morning, convinced I'd plateau'ed myself yesterday. Nope, down 2 more lbs!!

    The scales are moving again

Good! The NSVs are great, too, but there's something about seeing that scale move that really feels good, huh! Emily
