NSV!! I fit in the chair!

Awesome NSV!!! I have had the same issue in our conference room in the past. I always try and get there early to get a comfortable one. I have not been in there for a year now so I don't know if the chairs with arms are still uncomfortable or not, but I hope they aren't I might just need to sneak in try them out. Way to GO!!!!!!

I'm wondering what NSV means too. I've seen it a lot and I know it's good but just can't quite figure out what it stands for. Thanks! Andy

    What is my problem?!?!?!?!

Hey Vines! You are sooo right. This IS an NSV. It gives me a lot of confidence to know that when I do reach my goal, I am very capable of keeping it off. I have lost LOTS of weight in my life but never successfully kept it off. Maybe this time it will STAY OFF!! By the way, I am down 3 more lbs today! My Spa incentive is working!! When ever I think of eating junk, I just picture that Day Spa in my mind & I am so motivated that the junk just isn't worth it!! I AM GOING TO DO THIS!!!!!!!!

NSV!! I fit in the chair!

Wow, that was pretty mean of her was she new? Congrats though nsv's are great!
  11. Every Tuesday, we have a staff meeting. Only one of the chairs is armless, and I always sat in it. Just before banding, someone had taken the chair and I spend the entire hour perched on the front edge of the chair. My back hurt for two days. At the next meeting, I told everyone that it is MY chair. I actually had to say why ... sigh... couldn't they tell? I was embarrassed, but everyone got the point and left the chair for me ever since. Today, I walked in and this skinny woman was sitting in MY chair. I glared at her and she glared back. I had no choice. I sat in the wooden chair ... and ... I fit! It was such a shock! My first really unexpected or anticipated NSV!! :clap2: :clap2:

    What is my problem?!?!?!?!

I've been thinking about this, and I think it qualifies as an NSV. You have figured out how to MAINTAIN! Isn't that the name of the game? Learning how to maintain once you have lost? I think being able to take a break means that you have learned a valuable lesson. Congrats!

    July 2005 band dates????

Great idea, Mandy! Bandiversary will be July 22...61 lbs lost! Major NSVs: normal blood pressure, normal cholesterol, little to no foot or ankle pain, increased stamina and energy, change in size from 26 to 18. The other things: I sleep better. I can walk and walk without pain. I can sit in an airplane seat and fasten the seatbelt. I dress better. I have better confidence and am happier. I can dance with my DD. It's been a great year, and I hope others who read the July '05 bandster progress will see that even if I didn't lose all the weight I had wanted to in this year, it has been well worth it! I am not done yet, either! I expect to reach my goal in this next year.

Hello everyone! I haven't had a chance to post in a bit since I've been so busy. Work has really been work lately. And my shift schedule doesn't help. But I had kind of an accidental NSV on Sunday. I had asked my husband on Saturday to throw my work clothes into the washer. And of course he thru them in along with a bunch of other stuff.....too many clothes in the washer! When I got home from work, my son stuck the stuff in the dryer and I figured I would just grab my jeans and stuff out in the morning. Well....my alarm goes off the next morning at 3 am like always and I turn it off and go back to sleep!!!! When I finally do wake up, it's 10 till 4 am -- I'm usually gone by that time -- so I get up in a panic, run to the dryer and MY CLOTHES ARE STILL DAMP! Ick! Well, I had bought a new pair of pants on Thursday and they were still in the bag at the end of my bed. Even though they are a size 18, smaller than anything I've worn in years, I was desperate and grabbed them, took off all the tags and prepared myself to slither into them, hoping they weren't too tight to get on. Not only did they pull on easily, I didn't even have to suck it in to zip! I was amazed! They fit right, they were loose, they didn't cut into me......WOW! It was great! Also, after two weeks of losing nothing, all the sudden, this past week I lost 5 lbs. It's weird.....I work so hard and lose nothing, then on a week where I work 6 days out of 7 and really don't exercise too much, that's when I lose. It's so frustrating, but when it finally comes off, it is exciting. I just hope it keeps coming off. Right now I'm doing ok for our challenge. I just have to keep it up. Yesterday was our 27 anniversary and we went to dinner and a movie (Nacho Libre -- silly but funny). At dinner I actually made good choices -- Alaskan King Crab and a salad. But when we went to the movies, I kept stealing my husband's popcorn. It still wasn't as much as I would have eaten before, but it was popcorn with butter. Today I need to get back with the program and forget about popcorn. Though it really tasted good......... Well, gotta get going! Have a great day!

Hi Maysters, Well, TOM and I'm crying at the drop of a hat! I don't think I'll weigh myself this week. Too depressed. Thought I had NSV's last week but we had family pics this weekend, saw myself, and forgot all about them. I won't give up! Christy668, you are awsome! Keep it up and thanks for the smile you give us!

Hey everyone! Well, I finally had to break down and buy some new pants yesterday. The ones that I was wearing were literally falling off! Guess what? I bought pants 2 sizes smaller and a couple of shirts that were a size or so smaller yippee!!!! I haven't weighed in the last few days due to TOM, so I'll try to weigh in tomorrow and update my prgress. I feel like I'm eating more now and think that I may have to go ahead and get my scheduled first fill on July 18th. I may be at a plateau... I've been tracking my calories on fitday.com and am averaging 1100 -1200 calories a day. I didn't get to exercise Friday, Saturday or Sunday, so back to the pool this evening. I'm trying to drink more water, but sometimes its hard! Question: How many calories are you guys eating? Congrats on the NSVs and the weight loss everyone! Keep up the great work!

Just wanted to touch base on a NSV I had this weekend. I am a huge sports fan. One of the things my wife and i love to do is go to Dallas Stars hockey games. I have a jersey that I haven't been able to wear in several years. For kicks, I tried it on this weekend to see if it fit and it fits very nicely!. I actually teared up when I showed my wife because I feel like I am getting my life back. It was an awesome moment! On another note, I guess the gym is agreeing with me, I lost another 6 pounds this week. That in itself is motivation to keep going. Hope everyone has a great week.

    Wahoo Nsv For Me!!

You look gorgeous Christy! Congratulations on your new shirt. It looks wonderful on you. Way to go! (Barb, NSV means "non scale victory" -- i.e. those little (and not so little) things other than the number on a scale that show progress as you've lost weight. My most recent one is being able to walk straight into my narrow-doored bathroom rather than hind of angling my hips to pass through. I'm no longer "wide as a door"!!)

    Wahoo Nsv For Me!!

Ok, So I'm kinda new here..... sorry if this sounds dumb but what does NSV mean?? Congratulations on the smaller size. I was banded on June 20th and am already down over 25 pounds from my high point. Made an unplanned trip to a local store just before the 4th of July and bought a pair of denim shorts, ONE size smaller and was so excited! I know in the beginning it will go a little faster, but I'm ready for the slow months too. It took years to get to this point and it's not going to disappear over night. I know it's not going to be easy all the time, but I'm ready! Again, congratulations!!! When I get this all figured out, I'll try posting a picture. Soooo glad I found this website! HUGE NSV for me today!!! I bought a pair of jeans at Old Navy!!! I cannot believe I can fit into size 20 jeans! OMG! I am just floating! I also bought a size 18 shirt from Lane Bryant. Size 18!!! This is so wonderful I can't even tell you how good I feel about myself right now. I actually had to buy a belt so I can wear the stuff I have now. I haven't worn a belt in years. I think I will work on cleaning out my closet tomorrow and getting rid of some fat girl clothes. Look out Ebay! Peace!

    Hey P'nut, you sober yet?

I need help! A few months ago (May?) you edited 2 pics of mine to compare a 10 pound weight difference. In one I was wearing an orange t-shirt and brown cargo pants. The other I wore brown trousers and a funky blue shirt. You put them side-by side for me somewhere! Do you remember what thread? Oy vey, I have pics all over this board and I want to get them all into my NSV thread, orhterwise known as my journal! LOL Anyhow, if you can remember, I'd be grateful. I want to C&V, if I can remember how, since you got them side by side and smaller. Thanks!!!!!! P'nut? Beuller? Anyone? Anyone?
