    How are my March Bandsters!!

Can any Marcher play, or are you looking for specifically March '06? NSV stands for Non-scale Victory. They are the wonderful things that add depth and shading to our journey.

    How are my March Bandsters!!

O.K.....what's a NSV? I had another little fill of 0.6cc this week and finally feel restriction again. I stalled out for almost 6 weeks (I did lose 2 pounds but jeeze!). I'm allergic to sweating (a.k.a. excercise) unless it involves loud music and a dance floor. I do like to garden and nap. Does that count? People have noticed the weight loss and since I am living a lie and only telling close family members (and all of you here on this group), I just tell them I'm on a low-carb diet and that I'm working very hard. Thank you for noticing! As for issues, I sometimes miss goey buttered rolls. And PB & J sandwiches, toasted. Salads have been iffy. THe lettuce blocks the opening I guess. THe last few times I've eaten a salad, I've pucked it up. Yuck! I was mad too because it wasn't a cheap salad! I figured out how to eat at my favorite buffet restaurants; get the to-go box usually sold by the pound. Fill it up, or not, and then sit down and eat with the family. Take the rest home for tomorrow, and the next day, and the next day......

    Its July

Hi everyone! It sounds like everyone is on the mend. There's not a whole lot to tell on this end. I think my work move to Harris Blvd may be sooner than later, but I still don't have a firm date yet. My NSVs have turned permanent! :clap2: John and I have slept together 3 out of the last 4 nights and no snoring! I've also been wearing my wedding rings daily. They're tight, but not painfully so. I figure as long as I can get them on and off, I'm going to wear them. I made some bad food choices on Tuesday, and have spent the rest of this week trying to make up for them. I never thought a small bowl of chili and 8 hush puppies could do so much damage. Of course, I never expected to be able to eat that much in one sitting again and not be full. As I've already said 1/2 dozen times already, I cannot wait to see you all!

May 2006 Band Crew ~ July Chat

Here I am checking in for the Challenge. I weighed in this morning at 244. I only lost 1 freakin' pound this week! I am going in for my third fill next Tuesday... let's hope it's "the one!" My clothes are all starting to fit a lot differently. I am down to a size 20 in pants and a size 1x in tops. I was in a tight 22 pants and a 3x top a mere 3 months ago so I'm definatley seeing progress. Buying a pair of jeans at Old Navy has got to be one of my best NSV's so far. My wedding ring is looser, I can take it off at night now. My shoes are looser. I fit into chairs better. I am up to a 20 minute mile with a 5% incline on the treadmill. I have been circuit training as well the past 3 weeks. I am getting to the gym at least twice a week, usually 3 times. I am drinking Water like a fiend, usually 100oz a day or so. I guess when I look at all of this the 1 pound loss isn't so bad, I am getting much healthier overall. Sparkpeople.com has been a lifesaver in helping me track my progress. Peace!

Hi All, Here is my Challenge update: Start 276 / C 266 / G 255 (-10 so far, -2 this week) I am closing in on -50. Hopefully, I will not gain this weekend. I have been gaining 2-3 pounds every weekend for the last month or so. Brenda - Congratulations on the NSV and SV! I think the last time I owned a belt was maybe highschool. Kim - To answer your question about the Water from a few posts ago, I have moved up from 6 to 8 cups of water a day. I'm not a slow sipper throughout the day. I tend to get down 4 cups in the morning during aerobics, then another 4 cups in the afternoon between my snack and dinner, and, lately, I sometimes get in another 1-2 cups at night before bed. I havn't really noticed a difference in the weight loss with regard to how much water I drink. I will say that water is about the only thing I drink these days! I see we have the same goal on Funny's Christmas thread. I would really love to see 220 by then. I think that is a pretty realistic goal for us! Janey - How's it going? Hippo's Hope - How are you doing since your last fill? You havn't posted in a while and I've been wondering. Well, I'm off to water aerobics. Have a great day everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi All, It's been a while. I've checked in once in a while but this is actually the first time I could find a minute. Not to mention, I HAD A HUGE NSV AND A SV!!!! For the first time in 8 years, I tried something just for the hell of it....are you ready?....imagine....collar golf shirt (hanging a bit)...black pants (about an inch give in the waist)...hmm, do I dare? Tuck in the shirt in the pants and actually wear a belt!....eyes are still not looking at the mirror (afraid to see the usual belly popping out and hanging from underneath the belt)...slowly look up...AAAGGGHHH! The belly is still there, BUT, not as much and this actually looks OK to wear! I screamed! Ron thought I saw a bug on the floor or something! When he came to the room, I posed! "Wow, you look great" (I love him!). Next... OK. Fluctuated between 216 and 214 for 3 1/2 weeks. Uck! Just for grins today...I mean what the heck?...stepped on the scales...210! About darn time! YaHoo! Hope all is well with you! I think about this forum everyday and I've been inviting some friends who are considering surgery to check it out. I'm so thankful to all of you!

    How are my March Bandsters!!

Im at 35 Pounds.. wow I think about it and its amazing, the last time I lost 35 pounds was right after I got married. On Phen Phen, Im feeling great and cant wait to get on the scale every day! Ive had 2 Fills, @ 1.5 in 4 cc band, Ive been there for almost 3 months, its perfect.. Doc said I coud go tighter but I dont want to as I hate to suffer. Just in the last two weeks Ive has several people come to me in my office and my clients and say wow, your looking great.. how did you do it? It makes me feel great and I tell them just wait , im just getting started! My dry cleaner noticed, but Im sure its because I went in and had 5 FIVE inches taken out of the waist of my suits! I have had some issues, It seems Im eatting too much. I have gotten lazy and have stopped weighing my food. This has to stop. the other thing is Im am eating to fast. to fix this, I started using a tea set of silverware, its just smaller and its worked wonderfully! I am having a slime ball about once a week, from eatting to fast, its a horriable experince, its like that green goast from ghost busters. It not food just thick yucky slime and alot of it. Im going to the gym 4 times a week, and swimming on Sundays. Two greatest NSV, My panties are too big and falling off.. and I went to a consert, and could sit in the seat confortably. ( I kept getting up and down just to make sure!!)

    How are my March Bandsters!!

HEY ALL MY MARCHIES. its time to check in again, I want to hear from all of you. here's the questions.. How is your weight loss? How much of fills have you had? Has any one noticed your shrinking? Complications or issues your having? Are you going to the gym or doing other acitivites? Whats your greatest NSV? Lets all share we are all in it together Right!!
  16. Of course, there is also the having the RNY and gaining it back... I realize this is a possibility with the lap band, but adjustments can be made with the lap band. It is still my contention that this banding was the absolute best thing I've ever done for me. I feel wonderful (even if the flight attendents don't get sensitivity training.) :tea: I think everyone is doing great. Personally, losing 48lbs in less than a year has been a big change for me. Losing 48lbs in less than 4 months is an even bigger change for me. That has made all the difference. Everyone should be proud of the successes they've accomplished so far - SV and NSV! :bowl: Deb

The Astros game was a blast tonight, even though we lost.....How great it was to be able to fit in the seats. I think the greatest thing about this vacation is ALL of the NSV's I have realized that I never would have taken the time to savor, had we not been on vacation... I'll go through them sometime later...but it has been a true picker-upper! Cynthia- Sweetie.....I am SOOO sorry that you are having to go through this. All the more reason for you to hang out with us girl! You need hugs more than ever right now....but it is up to you;) . That totally stinks about the insurance companies. Any chance you would ever think about working for HCA, as their insurance covers lap-band procedures.....just a thought:cry Katt- Make sure and introduce yourself Thurs noc....I am so sorry to hear about the breast issues. I will pray that everything gets resolved and comes out okay with that. Can't wait to meet you on Thursday:biggrin1: To those of you that want to come on vacation with me....I know there are some plans on here for cruises etc .... maybe someday we can all go on a Hoehn Cruise :tea: Gotta sign off for now.... driving home tomorrow and need to get a good night sleep. Nighty Night:notagree

Angela, we should meet up on the 4th. I will bring the clothes with me. Robyn, whaddya think? Diane, Congrats on the wedding dress! That is a great NSV! :clap2: Robyn, I should probably not be so dramatic. I know they triple book for sure. But you get the point. :nervous Hey, btw, I want to go on vacation with you. Do you want to adopt me and take me along for all the fun?!? :biggrin1: If you haven't lost weight Robyn, you may be losing fat and gaining muscle. With all the sit ups and working out you are doing... it is possible you are shrinking in size because of the lean muscles you are building. That can definitely make a difference on your body. I call mine (saggy skin)... squishy or flubber. It is because its so loose and soft and saggy. Kinda sad, but hopefully with time it will improve. At least that is my secret fantasy. I have heard Dr. Hoehn say that once it is stretched, it won't go back. If it doesn't, maybe I will find a way somehow to deal with it in the future. On the back pain issue, YES dear! My back acts up quite a bit, but I have had issues for quite a while. I think its a combination of my tummy and extra chestage! Sea, What is your name? Do you come to support group?

    Cheating..No, not with food!

I think this is entirely apporprate. So many people have been so large for so long that they might not appricate themselves at all stages of their lives. Some people think that they will only be sexy if they are size BLA, and not BLA+blarg. Many people who've used their size as a shield against unwanted sexual advances are caught completely blindsided when they start to lose weight, or have lost a significant amount of weight. For the first time, they are no longer invisible. It can come as quite a shock for many people, when they start to attract attention, perhaps for the first time. Someone posted that their NSV was they were asked to dance. Holy crap! Such a small think is such a major thing. I've never cheated on my husband, nor has he cheated on me. Not even when we were physically separated while I was attending ISU in exile. We were only separated because my scholarship is for ISU, and it didn't make sense to uproot their lives. How do I know he's never cheated on me? If you were to ever see the two of us together, you would never ask that question. You would never have to ask, nor would it even enter your mind to ask.

    My NSV Very Exciting

I went to meet some friends at a local club. I got there after they did and was standing at the bar getting my drink. Kinda looking around for them. I look up and see them and wave get my drink and go over. They were kinda laughing when I got there and I asked them what was so funny. My friend said well we looked at you and said is that Kristie her boyfriend said where, she said at the bar. He said where I don't see her. She said right there in the brown shirt. He said I don't think so. Thats when I turned around and waved at them. And they were like omg it is Kristie. They didn't even recognize me!!!!!!!!!! I've only lost 50 pounds but boy did that make my night and the next week!!!!! IT was WONDERFUL. I know I said only 50 pounds let me rephrase I've LOST 50 POUNDS in THREE MONTHS!!!!!!!!!! WOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOO

    An early NSV!

No such thing as a "trivial" NSV. Each one is important, because you are important!

    An early NSV!

Hi. Here's an early NSV in my process. I will be in MX for my 35th birthday recovering from surgery. I told one of my staff at work about the liquid diet.... she's a lovely person but 98 pounds so doesn't really "get" it. Anyway, her first comment was "Oh, we'll have to celebrate your birthday early. Do you want to order Michelle's (the best bakery in town) like a week before you guys fly out?" Normally, I would've immediately thought that I should do that and not "miss out" on anything... My NSV is that I realized I have to change my whole attitude toward food. My birthday will not be about celebrating with food. It is not about where we're going for dinner and/or birthday cake. I'll happily put a single candle in my broth and have my sweet little niece (my best friend's daughter...both are going with me to MX) make me a card with little hearts and her best "fancy" handwriting," hug me with the most unconditional love, and tell me happy birthday. Whoohoo! I can celebrate without food. Seems trivial, but I truly believe that for me, it is a NSV. Kelli

    Getting Noticed another NSV

As of late I have noticed other men, besides my DH checking me out. It is such a great feeling to get the looks again. I am still far from my goal or ideal weight, but it sure is nice to feel sexy again! :clap2:
