Ok so I was banded just a little while ago and have lost 17lbs so far. Well my kids and I were playing football and I was throwing the ball. When the ball flew through the air, My ring did also. I guess my hands are getting thinner because My rings won't stay on my hands. I guess its time to put them up till I can resize them... Its a pain but very exciting to me HEHE....

I'm sitting at my desk in downtown Houston. (19th floor, but by a window.) I am nibbling on a broccoli/raisin salad and browsing this site waiting for customers to call in. I do not converse much on this sight, but sign in at least every hour while at work just to see what's a going on. P'Nut, you right about this being a great place for friendship. I've never met any of you face-to-face, but I feel a bond and closeness to each of you because of our band. I want to know how you are doing, what you are feeling, trials you are having and victories you've accomplished. I guess it's the maternal instinct in me...... or maybe just down-right nosey-ness. It's a safe haven I can voice my concerns, share my disappointments and shout my NSV's. Thanks to all for being here. I love you all. Here's to everyone a very BIG HUG!

Hi all! Just wanted to share a quick NSV I had this past weekend. I finally got to go check out Torrid, a store for plus sizes. www.torrid.com if you don't have a store in your area.... anyway.... it was awesome! Exactly my style of stuff and great prices. Before surgery I was in a tight size 22.... last clothes I bought were size 20's (at Old Navy)... I fit into size 18 Dickie pants at Torrid!! Sweet! I even bought a mini skirt! It felt so good to not have to hope and pray they would have my size that I could squeeze my fat ass into. This weekend I saw my mom for the first time in a month and she couldn't say enough good things about how I look. In fact I got more compliments from people the past few days than ever! I guess finally hitting the 40lb mark has really made a difference. I cut my hair into a totally different style last week and between that and the weight loss my SIL didn't even recognize me when my hubby and I walked up to them at the fair. I will post new pics soon! Have a fab day! Peace.

Sherry love, get your arse to the doc and let us know whats shakin or shall I say rockin we love yah. food PORN WARNING !!! Okay spinach dip recipe but !!! it taste different if you don't use these brand name ingredience..so its important to get these if you can? Knorr's Veg Soup Mix (dry 1 pkg) 1 and 1/2 pts of Breakstones Sour Cream (24 oz total) 1 Cup Hellmans Mayo 1 Bunch of Scallions chopped up well 1 package of Birdseye Chopped Spinach (in the frozen section, maybe 8 oz... the small pkg) thawed, rinced and squeese the life out of it to drain the Water. Mix everything together and let sit in frig for a few hours so the dry soup mix soaks up the wet ingred. I server them with Garlic Bagel chips and people go nuts... its so easy peasy and so freakin fattening and good. There.... now don't blame me if you get hooked.... :nervous

Day 2 of my new NSV -- I was able to jog for 1 minute after every 5 minutes of walking on my treadmill for 30 minutes - 5 minutes of jogging - woo hoo! Now only if my arthritis didn't hate me so much for running lol - it's heck to get old....... and - I was able to buy a regular x-large at Target of all places for some workout pants! I was pleasantly surprised (well more like shocked lol) that they fit so well....thank goodness the inches come off even when the scale doesn't move..... -
Thanks...I think I like the NSVs better than watching the scale move.

Congrats, I love NSVs! they give texture to our journey!

I had a meeting at work today and I had not seen a few of my subordinates since starting my weight loss journey. One of them came up and the first words out of their mouth was that it looked like I was melting away. I thought they were making a joke but they noticed I had lost a fair amount of weight.....the great thing is...nobody at work even knows I am dieting....so they weren't just being polite. :heh: I must say...that rocked...because I don't see it yet...but obviously they must.

Okay....the NSV. I'll be honest with all of you. I have a sister who was bulimic and anorexic, so I'm not really a fan of the scale. I'm a fan of the clothes fit test and the endurance and fitness tests. I digress....my NSV was wearing a TANKINI for the first time this past week. My man was super wowed by it. I wish he would make better health choices. I'm hoping mine will rub off on him. Congrats to you Tricia K. I don't know about you, but I've never been close to being able to wear a 2 piece suit in any way shape or form, but I'm so glad you're rocking it!!!! Have a great time in Florida! -

My NSV tonight was having all the girls at work complaining about their weight and their bellies....when I chimed in complaining they all yealled at me and said "skinny girls aren't allowed in this conversation" all said in a nice way. These women have only known me for about two weeks. and were SHOCKED when I told them I weighed over 100 pounds more two years ago. -

I have 2 NSV's. 1) I purchased a size 12 tankini to wear on my Florida trip this weekend. 2) When I sit down, I now have that visible 'line' on the side of my legs that defines the quadricep muscle. Does that make sense? -

C - 261, -17.5, -0 (once again this week I am the same weight) but I won't complain because the heat and Water retention have me going up and down as much as 3 lbs - happily landed back down on weigh-in day - I'm thankful WTG Cheri on that itsy bitsy teeny weeny bathing suit! My new NSV was buying two new camis yesterday - two sizes smaller than the last one I bought! What is everyone else's new NSV????? Post and let us know! -

Can you have SF popsicles? That helped me out with the "chewing" need...congratulations on your great progress, and the NSV (non-scale victory) of cutting your diabetic meds in half! WHooot! That's great! Hang in there, and get through it one hour at a time. You'll be SOOOOOOOOO glad you did, and you won't hardly remember the tough first month!
