Genepro- 30 grams of protein/serving untrue?

I was poking around on the web about this and found this on one of the body building boards: LARGEbagFrontWEB.jpgHey there guys. I am the Doctor/Genetic Bio-Scientist that invented GENEPRO and am the owner of Musclegen Research. Serving size is 1 Tablespoon = 30g of Protein.. Here is a little about the product and the difference between Genepro and any other protein on the market. We are working with bodybuilding.com to carry Genepro as well as out other products.. What makes Genepro so unique is that we are able to reduce the protein molecule to half the size of normal protein through a process called Electrophoresis. This is a reverse electrical polarity method of extracting pure protein. In essence we take protein molecules that, for reference, are the size of a baseball. We push these baseball sized protein molecules through a Polyacrylamide gel (the gel stays below 87 degrees F) and introduce electricity through the gel. This process removes hydrogen ions, allergens and any fillers or binders so we are able to then bind the protein with a strand of six amino acids called a Hexapeptide which stabilizes the molecular structure. This hexapeptide increases shelf life of the protein as well as balancing the bitter taste that is present with the protein after electrophoresis and actually gives the protein a slightly sweet undertone. The protein is pushed through a filtration system and into a centrifuge which results in a pure protein molecule that is now the size of a golf ball (for reference). You may not be able to fit 30 baseballs into a shoe box but you can fit 30 golf balls. Thus giving us the ability to get 30grams of protein in a 1TBS serving size. This process also changes the caloritic count as well to 3.2 calories per gram of protein. The process as well at the hexapeptide are patent pending and have never been used before in nutrition (it's a genetic process that is used primarily in forensic science). The other interesting fact is that most protein supplements digest in the lower GI and whey is absorbed at only 31% so if you're "taking" 30g of whey, your body is only taking in 9g. Genepro is digested in the upper GI which eliminates gluten, lactose and bowel sensitivity and absorbs at a rate of 94% which makes it 3 times more effective than any other protein on the planet (medical or open market). Flavorless and odorless and can be mixed instantly in any food or beverage (hot or cold) without changing the taste or consistency. Truly the most complex and advanced protein on the planet. Each 1pound container comes with 3 empty, re-useable travel pouches that make it super convenient to use anytime, anywhere and in anything.

Genepro- 30 grams of protein/serving untrue?

I miss using GENEPRO, I ran out and don't have access to it here. I bought Quest unflavored and it's disgusting, so is Syntrax matrix unflavored. I'm going to repurchase when I head back to the states, it mixes easily in my food (esp cottage cheese), and couldn't taste it. If you are going to buy unflavored, stick to Genepro.
  3. You can add unflavored protein to your pudding. Genepro has 7.2grams in a scoop (and the scoop is pretty small) so you could add at least a half if not a full scoop to a pudding?? This doesn’t add any variety which I know your looking for but adding protein may help you feel better to be able to tolorate more variety??
  4. The unjury unflavored didnt do much for me...it had a smell that I couldnt get past. I tried it in applesauce and hot Cereal and couldnt tolerate it at all. I have not tried to mix it into the Choc Splendor Unjury drink which I think tastes great. This morning I tried a GENEPRO no flavored powder....it didnt have a smell which is a bonus....I mixed it in with my choc splendor unjury drink....it didnt really change the taste....it sort of left an aftertaste in my mouth for a bit...but nothing too awful.... I ordered samples of the genepro...I ordered 2 samples and they sent me 4....it cost me less than $5. It is worth trying a sample to see if you like it. Good Luck
  5. I love genepro!! You can put it in anything hot or cold and it's 30gr protein in just a tablespoon!!

    Hungry hungry hungry

I am also on my pureed stage and am feeling super down. I am constantly hungry. I had 2 tbsp of cream of wheat for breakfast made with 1/2 c Fairlife skim milk.... was hungry about an hour later. So, I had a smoothie I made (1 c. Fairlife, 1/2 container greek yogurt, 2 tbsp blueberries, 2 tbsp raspberries, 1/4 banana, 1 scoop genepro). 11 am rolled around... I was hungry again! I waited until lunch (12:00 for me) and had 1/4 c ham salad and 3 tbsp cottage cheese. Now it is 3 pm and I am hungry again! I am so stinking frustrated. Am I doing something wrong? I feel like I'm overeating!
  7. I read something about that before I first purchased it. When I checked in with my nutritionist and surgeon, they okayed Genepro. Is this lawsuit more recent, in the last few months? Trying to figure out how to proceed with protein powder. I tried a few others (unflavored) and they smelled and tasted like mold. Discarded them. (Edit: Includes Isopure Unflavored, and BiPro Boldly Bare Unflavored). Does anyone have an unflavored protein powder that smells and tastes like nothing, truly?
  8. Hi everyone! I'm 53 and would love to be a part of this group. My surgery date is April 21st at Mayo Hospital! I start my 2 week pre-op Optifast liquid diet April 7th so I'm trying to soak up any and all information, tips, etc. I can get. I'm trying different Protein drinks to see which ones I like best. I purchased GENEPRO which supposedly has no taste and have added it to different drinks. I can taste it but can tolerate it and at 30 grams of protein for just 1 TBS, it's hard to beat. My favorite pre-made shake so far is EAS Carb Advantage which is 100 calories and 17g of protein. Has anyone tried unjury? My nutritionist told me yesterday that's what they use in the hospital. I'm thinking about ordering the sampler. Thank you for and advice you can share.

    Hungry hungry hungry

Not claiming I'm a fast loser compared to others with my stats but... I recommend buying Genepro (you can get it in the BP store or on Amazon) and add it to your oatmeal and drinks for protein. I tried many other unflavored protein powders to avoid the Genepro cost and believe me, it's worth it. You don't need nearly as much Genepro, it's 56 calories vs 130 calories, has 30g of protein & mixes well with liquids warm and cold. Most importantly, there's no taste. I recommend not comparing yourself to others on this board. If your doctor is more concerned you didn't lose X amount of weight, I'd tell him/her what you're doing and ask for advice. To be honest, I picked a surgeon that only expects patients to lose half their goal weight in a single year. 8 pounds a month MAX. I was self pay and my yoyo dieting had my metabolism all screwed up. Why have surgery if you're just gonna restrict and over exercise? I was "only" 203 lbs 5'5" at surgery and my loss was slow from the start. This is for life. And saggy skin is not attractive.
  10. Ironically the Premier Protein is my favorite too. I like the vanilla and caramel. Also, Genepro daily in my coffee.
  11. Butternut squash soup with a scoop of genepro powder was a go to. Veggie chili made with black beans, lentils and soy grounds.

    New to fifties group

@ LisaGB: First I was 58 (just turned 58) when I had my surgery and my life has changed drastically!!! So don't worry one bit that you think you might be too old....like most people on here our only regret is that this surgery wasn't available when we were younger...but believe me, I am making the most out of every day now!!! If you are looking for inspiration, read some blogs...they were so helpful to me. I kept a blog every Sunday for the first year so you can see a little what to expect. You can see it at http://www.queenofcrop.com/about/%C2'> Then when you read that page you can decide if you want to start at the beginning which I recommend. I started writing again a few months ago, but it is in a direction that is not for everyone....the first year is all about the weight loss. For protein powder, I started using one that was recommended here and it is far, far superior to any other in my opinion. I cannot tell you how many PP I threw out!!!! This one has NO FLAVOR and 30 grams of protein. You can order it from Amazon. It's called GENEPRO Molecular Tri-Protein Peptide. Don't waste you money on other things. As far as exercising.....start slow...get some weights and just use them when you are sitting down. I have read about many others who were on walkers and after the first month they had a Walker Burning Party!!!! You will do just fine and I suspect your diabetes will be history too!
  13. What do you do when you can't finish your meal? I prepare an appropriate portion size (about 4 ounces) and eat slowly with small utensils. Sometimes, before I finish the portion of food I prepared, I start to feel full, so I stop eating. I'm sure this happens to most of us on occasion, so what do you do with the rest of the food? I usually put it in the refrigerator for a while and then go back and get the rest later. I don't know if this is the right approach, or if it's a bad habit that will come back to bite me someday. I'm a little worried because I recently saw a WLS YouTuber say that this is a habit that contributed to her regain. I don't like wasting food, but I can get over that. The bigger problem for me is that I plan out my meals to get enough protein, and if I don't eat all of what I served myself, I'm going to be short on protein. I'm not eating an excessive amount of food; I rarely go over 600 calories in a day, and I sometimes get full before I finish something like 2.5 ounces of Greek yogurt or a small salad with 1.5 ounces of chicken. Today, I started eating 4 ounces of pureed black bean soup with half a scoop of Genepro, and I felt full after eating about 3/4 of it in 15 minutes. I only eat three meals per day and no snacks other than protein drinks between meals, but I'm afraid that this might be kind of like cheating, because I'm sort of having the rest of my meal as a snack. I'd love to know how other people handle this situation!

    Decaf coffee

I started drinking coffee right after surgery. In fact, it was one of the liquids offered to me at the surgical center which surprised me. I've never had a problem with it. I usually add a scoop of Genepro protein powder in the morning to my cup for the extra protein. I live in the Seattle area and we are definitely fond of our coffee here!
  15. Does the genepro have any sugar like substance at all? I don't like the fake sugar that is used either but I need more protein. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G928A using the BariatricPal App It is TOTALLY unflavored. I only wish I had found it a long time ago. It is the very best I have ever tried.
  16. @@aree1020 Shakes yesterday and this morning. Tonight I put unflavored Genepro protein in chicken broth. I'm assuming protein will be just shakes and broth for the next 7 days until I hit purees.

    Protein Sample Menu

I am 3 years out but...I still need to supplement my Protein to get enough. I use GENEPRO nonflavored protein, I add it to my coffee every day. It has 30grams of protein for 1 Tablespoon. But you need to put it in some warm Water and whip it a little before you add it to your hot stuff. It is the only one I have found that is not gross. MYOPLEX Rich Dark chocolate isn't bad either. I can't stand Premier Protein. I am Lactose intolerant and that is what the DR had me use for 2 weeks preop and 4 weeks postop. Needless, to say I suffered from the back door trots. That is NOT the way to lose your weight for sure!! Good Luck on your Quest.

    Anyone Use Genepro?

Love my genepro unflavored. Mixes great. Keep temperature under 140 or it clumps horribly

    Best Chicken Wings

I dont have a preferred flavor yet (havent tried wings post op) but I have a prefered method of cooking. Its the Alton Brown method. I have noticed that it works best on never frozen wings. After breaking down the flats and the drums, steam your wings for 10 min. Dont overcrowd the pan, do it in batches if ness. The bake on a wire rack at 400 for 20 min on each side. They will come out really crispy. Toss to coat. If you use a thick sauce like bbq or teriyaki put back in the oven on broil for 1-2 min per side (watch it!) I used to prefer garlic parm which should be fairly on plan. I also have made a ranch dip using greek yogurt that came out well. I added GENEPRO but that is optional. Genepro

It'll be interesting to see how the suit comes out. I couldn't watch the whole video, but found the following link with the info: http://www.law360.com/articles/865678/protein-powder-maker-accuses-rival-of-false-advertising The suit is brought by the makers of Syntrax alleging false advertising that is hurting their business. It goes to the heart of the technology claims by MuscleGen, and will be interesting to see if the evidence is sealed or left open to public inquiry. The suit is SI03 Inc. v. MuscleGen Research Inc. et al., suit number 1:16-cv-00274, in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri. SI03 brings claims for false advertising under the Lanham Act, as well as Missouri common-law claims for unfair competition and unjust enrichment. The company seeks an injunction barring MuscleGen from misleading advertising and an order requiring it to correct any false impressions consumers might have about GENEPRO, as well as trebled damages and profits, attorneys’ fees, and pre- and post-judgment interest. Of course, it'll potentially take years to wind its way through the court system, and will likely even settle out of court. But it'll be interesting. I've already looked at the raw data from the clinical trial MuscleGen cites, and though I see flaws in the construction of the study, I came to the conclusion that Genepro is likely at least as good as any other Protein powder and since it dissolves better than the others I've tried, I use it. I don't know if I'm getting as much protein as they claim, but the Protein Powder you use is better than the protein powder that sits in the tub because it clumps or changes the texture of the food unacceptably.

I HATE I GOT THIS STUPID SURGERY!

Wow I’m sorry to hear you are going through a rough spot! Please know this though, It will get better eventually! I gad some rough spots too so I know you can do this! I’m a year out now and even with the rough spots would NEVER go back. What saved me was the no taste protein powder that I could add to broth, juice, water whatever I wanted. There are a few out there but I used one called genepro that you buy at GNC stores. It’s a smaller scoop and dissolved really good into anything. I remember struggling to get in enough liquids and this stuff saved me. I usually don’t post much anymore since I’m doing good now, but your post touched me because your having a rough time like I did. Good luck and keep thinking about where you will be in one short year 😀

    Protein intake, struggling

I just spoke with my NUT and she said the following about Genepro "We do not recommend Genepro. It's not possible to have 30g of protein in 1T of protein powder. They have been sued for false advertising" Thanks Nancy
