  1. Tell me... what is on your bucket list now that you have reached a non-scale victory (NSV) or ultimate goal? Is there something you want to do that you've never dreamed of doing? Spill it!

@@Tulsamom23 hi Okie Welcome Welcome Welcome you have done amazing wonderful success!! great before and after pic your after pic you are glowing i just ran to get my sunglasses!! 3. Sounds like you are doing great! Congrats on the NSVs! I've had a few NSVs myself. I had been stalled for the past three weeks, but finally broke through earlier this week. I not only hit a total of 50 pounds down, but I'm now at my lowest weight since 2003!! It's feels great!
  4. I've had little NSVs, like fitting into my jeans again. But today I tried on an outfit that hasn't fit me in four years and I look better in it now than I did then I'm so glad I tried it on today as my weight loss had really slowed down, which I know is normal, but still made me a little sad. Height - 6'3" HW - 140kg or 310lbs SW - 132.5kg or 291lbs CW - 118kg or 259lbs GW 80kg or 175lbs Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Odd, but good!, NSV

Great unusual NSV!! I've been known to slip on a top or jacket without returning to the dressing room again. What's the harm as long as we don't walk out of the store with the item on LOL!!! I still look at a lot of 2XL tops even though I can comfortably wear XL and some Large depending on style. I still have to fit my hips and prefer a certain length to help cover my belly. I'm 60 years old and seriously doubt that I will ever have any plastic surgery done. Congratulations on your success!! Congratulations to all of us for the great progress we've made already!!
  7. So once again, I find myself out buying clothes because the ones from 6 weeks ago are falling off... I'm at Walmart (inexpensive) and of course I keep looking to the XXL or XL but I'm squarely now in Larges. After enough trying on clothing, I'm leaving but see a really cute top. Here's the odd-good NSV. I didn't feel like going BACK to the dressing room, so with out thinking, I just took the shirt, pulled it over my head OVER the top I'm wearing. Skid to halt---- huh? Before WLS I would need to strip down to my skivvies! And the funny thing was I didn't think twice before I did it! Boom! And yes, fit perfectly. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    NSV shout outs

NSV - Fitting inside a toddler pool with my grandson! Loving summer.
  9. How is everyone doing? Just had my 4th monthly follow up with the programs APRN. We set a goal for me to be below 300lbs by my six month follow up with the surgeon. I'm super thrilled with my progress so far. Lots of little NSVs lately, fitting in chairs/cars way easier now, my thighs are starting to look noticeably smaller when sitting down. I had to add notches to my belts the other day.
  10. Some of you may remember me asking about running after surgery. If not, my husband is a runner, runs ultra "insane" marathons. I want nothing to be able to run with him. Now that my weight is down (almost 70lbs) I thought I'd try a little. I've been walking but haven't really pushed myself till now. This is my progress over the last 3 days. Shew, I may be feeling it by the end of the week. This is Monday, Tuesday and today's distance and time. I'm increasing the pace and distance by 1/4 mile each day. Social media piks

I thought long and hard before sharing on social media but I felt like it might help others who might be on their own weight loss journey. I made my announcement about 2 weeks after surgery. (I waited until after surgery because I didn't want those comments that might discourage me.) I have only posted about 4 or 5 progress photos (and I'm 5 1/2 months post-op) but what I have posted more are my NSVs (non-scale victories). And I can't tell you how many people have messaged me and talked to me in person and said how much it has encouraged them to watch my journey. I had no idea how sharing this part of my life would impact others but it definitely has! I think it is a very personal decision whether to share such a personal journey but for me, it has been a blessing. And I have received such sweet compliments and encouragement on those days when I get frustrated. Hope that helps!

    Need a Sleeve Buddy?

No exact date for me as of yet, but I am hoping for end of October-ish. I am so excited and absolutely cannot wait to join everyone who has had VGS!! I can't wait to post my first success story and NSV. With all that being said......I'm gonna need a buddy too!
  14. I was 30 minutes late for my first day back at work today as I COULDN'T FIND PANTS THAT FIT! I'll have to give away 4 pairs already as they fell right off me!

    First NSV

Hey peeps... Just wanted to share my NSV for today.. I went shopping today and saw this pretty top.. there was only one size left, i picked it up and looked at it and thought what a shame its too small... i walked around a little more and picked it up again.. and then thought why not, ill try it on anyway since i was going to the change room anyway to try on other tops. On the way to the change room i was trying to justify to myself to buy it and that maybe one day i would be able to fit into it.. in a few months.. So i get to the change rooms and put it on and guess what! It was way to big... so big in fact that it looked horrible! So yay to me!.. this sleeve of mine is finally working! Now my brain just needs to catch up with my body

Sounds great! I lost about 40 before my surgery which was last week. I've already started a very large pile of clothes that are too big. Trying to decide between donating and going to a consignment store so I could at least get a few dollars back. And I'm checking out smaller sizes at Goodwill to get me through the next months when everything will be changing quite a bit. I love this idea for a topic NSV! 18. Now is a good time to measure all over body, record numbers, and have those available for NSV in future!
  19. A few NSV's I have enjoyed so far: Not needing an extender for the airplane seatbelt (for that matter, fitting comfortably in the airplane seat) Not hiding when it's time for pictures (and not freaking if someone posts them on social media) Being able to buy a "regular" size bra that doesn't require special order/shopping at a specialty store for the size
  20. Pre-ops and new post ops, what non scale victories are you most looking forward to? Me, Im looking forward to the usual, being able to sit in chairs with arms, airplane seats with no seat belt extender, shopping for clothes in regular stores, etc. I'm also looking forward to: Shaving behind my knees and getting it all Being able to paint my toenails myself Sitting at my job without my butt falling asleep Not hurting everyday Being able to actively help on our sailboat and not feeling like a beached whale on deck. Going on a bike ride with my boyfriend and making it more than 2 miles. Kayaking (I'll post others as I think of them) Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using the BariatricPal App

NSVs are my FAVORITE! I have shared them on my Facebook page and I can't tell you how many people have said it was refreshing to hear another plus size person talk about our struggles and victories! It is great to get support from them and inspire them to keep going as well. Here is my top 10 list! 1. I can cross my legs! 2. I have extra room in an airplane seat belt. 3. I'm down 4 pants sizes. 4. I can now shop in non-plus size stores. 5. I can sit cross-legged on the floor. 6. I can survive a Zumba class without dying! lol 7. I'm off all my blood pressure meds! 8. My wedding rings fit once again. 9. My husband has joined me in eating healthy and has lost over 60 lbs! 10. I can comfortably sit in a restaurant booth and don't have to worry about fitting in certain chairs. I can't wait to hear about yours when you get there!

@@charley27They can come at any time! That's the beauty of NSV's! Your scale may be acting stubborn for a few days or even a week and you find yourself getting down over it, then the lovely little Non Scale Victories pop up and make everything right in the world again! Good luck!!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I'm only 2 weeks post-op but my first NSV was pulling out a dress shirt from wayyyy back in my closet (it actually had dust on it, that's how long it's been since I wore it last) and I buttoned it up and it fit. I'm a teacher and one of my many goals is to wear buttoned shirts and ties to school. I never have before because they were uncomfortable and I just didn't like how I looked in them. I've got a month and a half to make it happen! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
