We'll I'll be eight weeks out this coming Wednesday and I've lost 50lbs. My clothes are hanging so I've been sewing what I can but ended up running out to Target to see if they had anything... Tried on a bunch of stuff from the plus section but ended up taking home some XXL's from the regular section. Loving life!

Yay congrats! Thats a great NSV -
I'm was pretty stuck on the scales for the entire month of March. I think I'm only going to end up losing right at 5 lbs - which all came off pretty much this week (I was hoping to be closer to 8 lbs down this month). It is what it is, right? Move forward! I started exercising a bit more and incorporate yoga as well as cycling and I love doing both. So I guess those would be my NSV's. Oh, I also started my own YT channel (cjmurphy901) - subscribed to me and watch my journey Still no fill yet for me...ugh!!!! I had my surgery on 1/24 and I have had 2 visits with him and still no fill!!! Hope everyone had a successful month!

It has been 10 days since my surgery and I'm really starting to get back in the swing of things. If you read my earlier blog, you know that I was having esophageal spasms that hurt tremendously. Well, as the swelling has gone down, the spasms have almost fully gone away. Yay! I hope that means that I won't have problems with fills, but I will definitely keep track of it. As of today, I am down 21.1 lbs. I include my pre-op diet pounds in my total because it is all part of the process. I am a little worried that I will gain some now that I am eating solid food, but alas, that is part of the process as well. I had TWO non-scale victories today. I am a HUGE Colts fan and my best friend is a HUGE Saints fan. She mentioned a couple weeks ago that she was planning to wear her cute little women's cut Saints jersey to work today. Well, my XXL men's Colts jersey hasn't fit for months. I tried it on last night and it doesn't look half bad! YAY! So, I can represent! That is NSV #1. NSV #2 - I haven't worn my rings in several months. I kept telling myself it was because I was "swollen". Heh. Anyway, they are a little snug, but I'm wearing my rings (that I wore everyday for about 10 years) again today. It is only the beginning and good things are just flying at me!! Hope you all are having a bandtastic week!

My daughter tried out for softball today, and did so well the coach recruited her on the spot. On the way to car, she runs and catches us (out of breath) and explains she wants my 10yr old on her team and to secure her from the draft she needede ME to be her assistant coach...Im scheduled for surgery in three Weeks with Dr. Garcia, and will six Weeks post op when the season starts..Sleevie Family! I am usually a team mom, And my husband coaches baseball, but I got SO excited thinking how I could be active and feeling good about myself something I have always wanted to do, never played sports because I was an overweight child, I just wanted to share with my extended family this pre op NSV!

I've never been able to wear a single pair of lane bryant's pants. Besides being short, they also have 'hips' for the plus size.. I have no hips.. just big belly! So they poofed out all weird on my hips.. But me too me too! If I find a pair of jeans that fit, I order multiple pair. Pre-op I had this one set of bell bottom jeans I loved, had 5 pair of them!! Around July they stopped fitting, and I went into panic mode, I wore those almost every single day.. now what?! But luckily I can now fit into some old old jeans (the nsv jeans on the b&a page)..and I ordered some new pants from alloy.com a few weeks ago and they fit great, and before I could order a new pair.. they sent me another pair! They have a lot of errors at their place, sometimes in my favor. My 'dream' height was always 5'3, and my friends would say 'can you imagine how fat you'd be if you weighed what you did at 5'3?'. So I'm suppose to be thankful, heh.

I had a fabulous NSV yesterday. Went to Next. I had seen a pair of jeans I really liked. Hubby said try on the size 14. OMG they FIT!!! I am so proud. Tomorrow is my 7-month bandiversary and I was wearing size 24 jeans pre-op! Yay me!!!! Sadie:biggrin:

Well done! It's great to have unexpected NSVs - they give you such a lift in morale. I haven't been swimming for years and years. I really ought to try it again. Well done on your weight loss.

If you can swing it don’t wait a year. I had a surprise international work trip at week 11 post op. I was able to add some vacation to it too. Holy Moley did it help to have a whole bunch of NSV around traveling. I’m now planning more trips as I finally feel good. -
Wow, gorgeous backyard & what an NSV!!! Congrats & way to hang in there!

Well, I made it to my "goal" weight that I had set for when we went to Vegas last month. Yeah!! Plus, this was the first time in MANY years, that I did not need a seat belt extender for the flights! Yeah x 2!!! But, I have not done well since. With Vegas, Christmas, and a convention all last week, I haven't lost anything since then due to all the going and excellent restaurants we have eaten at. I HAVE NOT gained, but haven't lost either. I MUST get back on track, as we have moved up our South Africa trip from next year to this summer....so I desperately need to lose another 50 pounds (minimum) before then...that's my personal goal. So, starting today, I have gone back to drinking my shakes, and logging my intake....as I was pre-Vegas. I have also got to get back to exercising. We have one last deer hunt starting this Friday (which consumes ALOT of time), so I am hoping on Sunday/Monday, I will be back in full swing of things again. I have even thought about doing the liquid diet again for a week to get a jump start on things. I am now 3 months out and am noticing that I can consume a bit more than a month ago. Anyone else with the same??? I know that all the swelling and such is gone by this point...just wish I was that "tight" again!!! So, even though I was somewhat victorious, I need to be scolded to get back on track!!!!! -
Think about why you had the surgery in the first place. That's your motivation. You've lost almost 2 lbs a week, and are 30 pounds closer to your goal than you were at Thanksgiving. Muscle is more dense than fat, so maybe your body is just changing. Don't get hung up on the numbers on the scale. In fact, don't even look at a scale for two weeks. Follow your diet, drink lots of Water, and go exercise. Track everything that passes through your lips. Search through these forums for NSV's (Non Scale Victories). Sometimes we get wrapped up in the numbers on the scale, and forget to look at little things, like pants feeling looser, or hugs that reach all the way around. Just my two cents... Hope it helps

I went to the doctor today because I'm sick (clearly NOT the NSV) and I had forgotten to take my blood pressure meds prior to leaving. I've been on meds for my bp since I was 18 years old, so almost 14 years. A lot of the time, even with the meds, my bp was borderline high. Well today, without my meds, my bp was 114/62! Since I'm an RN and I work in a cardiovascular surgery ICU, I know how important it is to keep your bp in check. I'm really excited to follow up with my primary doctor in a couple weeks so she can see how well I'm doing. I was sad I had to see another doc today, but the office staff were all just amazed at my progress! Thank you lap band!!

Such a positive upbeat posting TravelAnna!! WOW another person who likes running...don't understand it myself, but whatever brings you joy, enjoy! I think I would just go to the finish and have the pancakes and bypass the running part! I guess I will stick to gardening for the welcome to spring feeling... A great NSV - bet that made you feel great! Funny some people have said they see a difference in me, but I just see the old me - I see through 'fat eyes', I guess! When do you move? Happy spring to you!
