Hey everyone!! I haven't been here in a while because I've been sooo busy! I have no idea how much wieght I have lost because I'm in nyc without a scale, but I'll know tomorrow when I go back home to Maryland. I'm going crazy because I live in a 4th floor walkup and its been hard - because I am normally so tired coming home. I know I've lost weight though! But yesterday at Ikea, I had their salmon and I had my first PB! It was scary but I knew it wasn't going down so I just stood in the bathroom until it came up. I thought it was over but I had to go back to PB the rest of it after that. I was on liquids until today. I felt so much better. Its not something I'd like to do a lot, but it wasn't the worst thing in the world! My fill is finally kicking in! I think its the stress.... I had an audition for casting at my school and got a callback so I have to audition again tomorrow... wish me luck! I've been sooo stressed- with my new apartment and such, but hopefully it will go away soon Alright, I have to get going so good job everyone with your NSVs!!! Speaking of NSV, I have one... I am getting compliments left and right from friends and teachers! woohoo

I have broken out some really nice totally un-worn clothes from my closet and began sorting them into things I hope to fit into someday, and stuff I fit into now...figuring as I lose weight, store the fat guy stuff and bring out the new skinny me stuff. My wife convinced me to try it on, and I found a lot of stuff to wear now...so the weight loss (47lbs) is a real difference even if I don't see it personally. I was so happy I wanted to go for a jog and have a small serving of asparagus. Congratulations!!! I am so happy to hear about your NSV and look forward to many more...now you lost that weight, go party like you deserve to.

Yay for Emilee!! That's an awesome NSV. :biggrin1:

NSV- Went to the store today, saw a cute outfit, they had size 16 and size 12....it was an outfit I could see wearing more this winter, so I bought the 12's thinking, hey this is a great way to get me losing weight so I can fit into this outfit. Got home, boyfriend wanted to see me in the outfit, I say no, its a size smaller than what I can wear. He says, just try it....so I do, and it fits!! Hardly no fat roll on top of the capris and the top looked great. WOW....made me happy happy!

Hi Vickie - I'm happy to hear that you're pleased with Krav Maga classes. What a great NSV too!

Hi Tricia I have been doing the Krav-maga now for 2 months I have now come to the point where I can actually go through the full hour without even stopping major NSV. I love it Usually after this workout and a half I will go to the Gym and do some weight training. It really motivates you but it does Kick your @ss

Congrats on your wonderful NSV!! What a great feeling it must have been :huggie: I can't wait to find your mirror! -
I did my weekly weigh in this morning and couldn't believe my eyes - I am down 7.4 lbs just this week!! I thought for sure I had skipped a week of recording, but when I went to my chart, it was right. It's amazing what a fill will do for you! And I was worried I ate to much tuna salad :huggie: I know I won't lose that much every week, my average has been 4.5, but it was a nice surprise. I had a teacher come in today to set up his classroom and he said "You look like you've lost some weight". I said yes - I told him what I did. I figure if the head secretary, who is quite a gossip, knows, then why try to keep a secret. He was very excited for me and said maybe we could start a Green Wing health club Tomorrow my principal is taking me to Applebee's for lunch. I was supposed to go to dinner with a teacher, but she had to cancel. I'm kinda glad because I didn't really want to eat out twice. She and I will reschedule for some time after school starts. I also had an NSV today - I wore a short-sleeved sweater that has been in my closet and untouchable. I had my DS take pictures of me today as I haven't been taking any. I figure since I'm almost to 50 lbs lost, it was a good time to take a picture.

Go shopping, buy yourself something pretty. Get your nails and toes done. I know for me when I was feeling blue I would go shop and shop in the "normal " size department, no longer in the "plus " size department, that always made me feel better. Also instead of focusing only on what the numbers on the scale say and how many pounds you have lost, sit down a write a list of all of the good things in your life that have changed since your band and the 77lbs lost, for example, more enegry, no aches and pains in your feet or back, more people notice me and comment me on my weight loss, more social etc..you get my drift. Do not let the scale dictate your success with your band NSV"s are just as important. Hang in there. :huggie:

I think with that outlook and great job is right around the corner! What a fantastic NSV! I would offer condolences in regards to the lost job but it looks like it will just be a stepping stone to something much better... good luck!

I got bad news yesterday that I needed to find other employment after 6 1/2 years at my current job. That is the bad part. In the past, this would have been a prime time to binge eat because of depression. But the good news is that I din't. In fact, I had to make myself eat because I didn'r have an appetite. Strange but fantastic. The other good news is that I should have a better opportunity for new employment. We all know us fat people get descriminated against, but being down 80 pounds and having more confidence - I know I am going to land on my feet and do well. Just wnated to share. Kind of a bad way to find out how great it is to be banded, but I will take it.

Anyone want to talk about the Lap-Band?

OMG, I love my band and my band loves me. My sister-inlaw bad the gastric bypass the same week as I had my band. She's lost 36 pounds in 6 weeks and I've lost 33 pounds in 6 weeks, not counting preop, just since surgery. I can do everything I could do before and more and she can't. I was 4 wheeler riding for 6 hours on my 10th day postop and she couldn't even think about it. This makes me feel very good about my decision. I've had two fills, 1.5 and .75, total 2.25 and the restriction feels great. I'm scheduled for another fill in 3 more weeks but it will have to be a little one and if I keep loosing at this rate he probably would prefer I wait. We'll see. Hope everyone is going to have a wonderful holiday weekend. We were headed to Tampa and then on down to the keys after that but we're postponing for 2 weeks to let the surf settle down. I am actually going to wear a bathing suit. We were cleaning out our garage tonight, we're building a new home and to sell this one I need a dump truck to get rid of all of this crap. Anyway, I found all of my old clothes. They seriously ranged in size from 7/8 10/12, no 16's, 18's, 20's and 22's. OMG, you can tell I'm a dieter. LOL Well, I went from 24's, 22's, and 20's fit but are loose so I can't wait to go to a reg. store to buy size 18's. It will truly be a NSV for me. Hope everyone has a safe and losing weekend. Love you all, Sherri -
Happy NSV and birthday to you!!!!!!

Whooo Hooo! Today is my birthday and I fit into size 22 pants down from size 24/26. And I wore them to work. And everyone noticed I lost weight. And I felt really good about all the attention. And I have the biggest butt on the planet but (butt) I will be size 20 or even size 18 by the end of September!!!!!!!!!!:biggrin1: I don't weigh myself because my scale is possessed by some skinny person who must have stepped on it in the store before I bought it. It also lies. I get weighed at the hospital when I go in for meetings and such so its about 2-4 times a month. Their scale does not lie not even if you bribe it. Ever since I joined LBT I wanted to post about an NSV, I am so excited. It takes the edge off of getting older eeeeekkkkk! So Happy NSV and birthday to me! :kiss2:

Ok, I can't remember who posted about the 'skinny girl in the mirror', but I, too, can't picture myself skinnier. Although everything and everyone around me tells me different! A little background..... Well, today, I went to Mexico for an unfill. To make a long story short, some of you may have read my complications while on vacation in Chicago and having a hard time finding a doctor to unfill me. Well anyways, I don't want to experience the same situation while I am flying to Hawaii for my son's first football game. So I went for an unfill and will get a fill upon my return. I don't fly much ever, so this won't become a habit, but I am taking the safe side. While in the office, Dr. Ortiz walked in and he gave me a hug, asked how I was doing, blah blah. He asked how much weight I had lost and how much more I want to lose. I told him 30-40 more lbs. He said "Why? You look fantastic right now!" That boosted my self esteem up so high, I was walking out of the office after that with my head up so high! It was just nice hearing such positive words from a doctor! I really do need to lose more lbs, I know, but just wanted to share with everyone and tell everyone once again what a nice man Dr. Ortiz is!!!

Congratulations, Mandy!!! That's a phenomenal NSV! I hope to see that lady someday, too! Emily -
:clap2: Yea for everyone and their good days, NSVs, veiled compliments (I agree with Kari on that one Dezadoo.....you look good and people notice it....so if they miss the mark so be it....you are shining through sistah and that is what matters) and Arcael you are doing just great!!! Congrats to you for getting ownership of your health!!! You are young and will probably be able to avoid a whole host of health issues later in life!!! We July 2006 folks are rocking!!!!! :biggrin1: Chat room was fun last night...it was so busy!!!! Let's do it again!!!! It's pouring here but my spirits are up. This rain is getting oldddddd.....and probably we will get some Ernesto residuals....great!!!! Anyway- it's a good day to be alive and maybe, just maybe tomorrow when I see my cute little short surgeon (I am major tall so everyone is short to me..lol) he will ok a fill. I had hoped to be down 50 by tomorrow and it ain't gonna happen but I have decided NO MORE games. No starving the day before for a good weigh-in the next day. No water pills so my weight will go down. I am what I am. I weigh what I weigh. Good, bad or ugly. That in itself is a big thing for me. I feel my entire life I have been playing the game for the scale in the doctor's office. No more. Hugs to all .....Ruthie

Im so glad everyone is getting NSV's! Yayyy for us julysters. Dezadoo, you got an nsv too but just didn't know it. When people are complimenting you about your tan its because you are glowing and looking healthier!! Im pretty certain of this. My husband pointed out that people don't always notice size but they do recoginize health and vibrance! Im glad too that everyones first days back at work went well. I just want to report that my five day challenge to myself to not have any sugar is going well. Im staying on track! No sugar today.

Arcael - congrats on the NSV! It's great that you've been meeting with a personal traininer as well. Regarding your testing, I'm proud of you for taking them. Working on the mental aspects of your life is just as important as the physical ones. I was seeing a psychologist before I started pursuing getting the band because of an overbearing boss I had. Now I am learning that a lot of my issues that I have are related to the physical person I have become. I will continue to see her monthly to work on my depression issues. If you are indeed diagnosed with AADD, then you'll be able to learn tools to help you live with the disorder and succeed. :clap2: Good for you!

congrats on the nsv's all! ruthie - i'm with you, not ready for school to start next wk, at ALL! i'm wondering...how much wt do you have to lose for someone to say something? i've lost 25 lbs and everyone knows i had sx, i rarely keep my mouth shut and everyone commented on my tan...my friggin tan!?! which is very good by the way considering i am a ghost most of the time, but i digress, my pants barely fit and my shirts are loose and noone has said one word, granted i am a supersized bandster but gooodness, just 1 wow! would be nice! thaks for letting me vent! and congrats to you all who are getting positive feedback!

Hurray! Yes, you would be seeing a "skinny" woman in the mirror. Congrats on this NSV. Is your ticker up-to-date? have you lost 72 pounds already?
