    Nsv

I just posted this on a general thread, but I had a nice NSV today when hubby pointed out his arms go a lot farther around me now than they used to!! It was quite sweet. Golly I love that man!!!
  3. Hurray for all us losers!!!! NSV's are the BEST! Karen

    My first business lunch experience

WTG it sounds like it went great! That is a great NSV! I wish I liked seafood so it could be part of my diet!
  5. I was at a friends little ones bday party. They own a coffee shop soothe party was there during off hrs. So I was behind the counter making espresso and I hear my friend say "that's Pasquini" I look up a a woman who I have known for about 9 yrs, though I generally only see her a few times a yr. Is standing there talking to my friend and she says, "who?" my friend replies again, and she stares at me and then says "Oh MY God!!!! Wow, now if you want to reinvent yourself THAT is how to do it!" and goes on for a while about it to my friend. About 30 min later I hear my friend laugh and say "that's Pasquini, you know him. Yes you do, (mentions my kids names) no really" and laughs. some more. :-). A good moment

    NSV!

I love NSV"s thank you for sharing! I started as a sz 18 jeans, went to Old Navy...bought some 16s, accidently bought a 14...it fit better than the 16..so I went back and bought size 12... I can't remember the last time I was in 12s!
  7. I took my wedding ring in to the jewlers the other day b/c it was getting so loose I thought it might fall off. I went down a whole ring size!!!!! I'm now an 7 1/2 It's a very good feeling indeed!
  8. Congrats on your lost so far! I too am a slow loser and do get frustrated that I am not losing as fast as I think that I should. I have had my husband hide the scale from me since I was very down on myself when I would weigh several times a day. The scale has been gone for a week now and I dont even think about wanting the weigh myself. Just focus on the nsv's and keep your eye on the prize!
  9. I run my own business. I am the only employee, with the exception of Mrs. LittleBill, who maintains the books, and occasionally helps me schlep a heavy board around, or haul a piece of furniture to a customer. The doc gave me an extra long prognosis for recovery because of all the heavy lifting I do, so I planned to be off from work until after New Years for a couple of reasons. Today, since I have been recently cleared for some more action, I found myself in the shop eyeing up a piece of wood that has been sitting on the bench for a long time, waiting for my vision to become reality. I figured, why not? I got all my stuff together, and prepared to make art. A real important part of "my stuff" is protective gear, and the biggest part of that is my air helmet. I hadn't worn in in over three months, as I had been working on stuff where it wasn't needed before surgery, and afterward, I just wasn't doing anything until today. I grabbed it off the shelf, stuck it on my haid, and... Hey! This thing is loose! Now, loose is a relative term. For me, loose means it actually fits now. My hat size seems to have decreased a barely noticeable amount, but the real change was in my cheeks and jawline. My cheeks have shrunken considerably over the past three months, so the visor snaps down with authority now, instead of just making an effort. It actually felt kind of weird. But I'll take it. After I got over the weirdness of it, it was more comfortable than it has been in a long time, and that is great. I often wear this thing for hours at a time when I am working.

    Still Here But...

Hang in there...I thought I was just one a plateau (for more than two months!) but when I started writing down everything I ate I realized I was really eating way too much of the wrong stuff and even throwing up pretty regularly... Anyway I really got back on track and stopped eating to the point of any painful warning and have started losing easily again... Hang in there and of course be glad you didnt gain!!To me, not gaining is a whole new NSV!
  11. I agree with the others, 33 lbs is not something to just brush off. That is 33 lbs that you carried around and didn't loose before your surgery, or liquid pre-op. I lost slowly my first 6 months, then all of a sudden. I am on vacation and going to a gym, so I am watching my weight on a scale, but I stop at one of those truck stop places and put a quarter into the machine and it says 147. I am shocked and happy! What I am saying is after a month vacation, I had suddenly dropped 15 lbs that I was not aware I had done! Best wishes, you are probably in for a NSV soon!! Karen

  17. It's tough and I am still struggling. But I kept reminding myself of why I came to the decision of a lap band in the first place. I try to remember how awful I felt AFTER I ate the food that wasnt good for me - how I'd end my evenings in carb-induced coma and so sluggish that I didn't want to do anything but sit around and sleep. How I am sick and tired of being sick and tired. I made a list of all of the NSV's (non-scale victories I want to accomplish). Things I haven't been able to do in a long time - like get on an airplane without an extender belt, wear heels higher than 2 inches and going to six flags without stressing if I am going to fit on the rides or not. I watched video after video on you tube - lap band success stories. I also researched recipes for healthier substitutes of the stuff I want to eat when I am cleared for regular food. I have recipes for a healthier option pizza, Mexican chicken, Chinese stir fry options, burgers - all of my favorite foods. I have been collecting recipes and will begin to make them them and modify them to suit my new lifestyle. I have healthy recipes for the next stage I will be on... Journaling helps a whole lot too. It keeps your thoughts in order and provides a bit of a distraction. Hang in there - this too shall pass. At least for a while lol...
  18. I have hit the stall also. Been trying to increase my water and protein. I have also been trying to increase my walking to see if I get quickly get back on the losing track. NSV: I am having a lot of people comment on my weight loss & now wearing a smaller clothes!
  19. Well I did it!! I cursed myself into a dreaded stall..it's been a week and I haven't lost anything, as a matter a fact I gained 2 pounds, but have currently lost 1 of them..UGH!!! However, I did have a NSV!!!! I went dress shopping for my upcoming cruise and learned that I am not only in a size 14 to 16 dress, but that I'm also down to a 18 in capris!!!! Started at 24, so this is huge for me!!!! So I'm upset about the stall, but can deal with it!! I have a feeling it's from all the stress right now that I'm having at work and home, trying to prepare for the cruise!! But it will all be worth it on Saturday when I step foot on the SHIP!!! Hope everyone is doing well!! Thanks for reading!! KRISTY
  20. Well I think you can add passing the psych eval as an NSV! :-) My eval lasted about 3 hours. 2 1/2 of which I spent filling out the questionnaire. I don't know if it was part of the eval or not, but they didn't provide any desks or tables to write on. So me and the other 2 guys were sitting there, trying to hold the clipboard/pencil in one hand and hold the 40 page questionaire in the other! Talk about a pain. I was pissed they did that to us! == Get my Free eBook - The Top 10 WLS Fears and How to Kick Their Butt! == get it here ---> http://frankensleeve.com

    May Bandsters~November Chat!

Hey everyone! Drews, tell your MIL congrats! Myra, hope everything is going good with your band.....it sounds scary........ This last week was a bad week for me. Lots of problems at work that caused me to stress eat. AND drink more diet coke than I've been allowing myself. I'm on my 7 off (12 hr schedules give you LOTS of time off. :clap2: ) and I'm hoping to get back on track. I didn't lose anything this week, but at least I didn't gain. 3rd fill next week. I'm hoping it will get me thru Thanksgiving with a loss instead of a gain. That would be a great thing! I need to do pictures for the 6 month anniversary. I lost the camera for a bit, my DH found it in his toolbox. :) So all I need to do is charge the battery. I went to a Christmas party last weekend and I had ordered size 18 pants and top from Cold Water Creek. The top fit perfect but as we were dancing, my pants kept trying to fall off!:faint: By the time we quit dance, we were both laughing so hard I almost fell down. I think those pants are destined for the give away pile. I have another Christmas party to go to on Dec. 2. I think I will do a bit of shopping while we are in Atlanta visiting my oldest over Thanksgiving and see if I can find some pants that fit and won't fall off when we are boogying around the floor. I guess it's really quit the NSV that I can actually DANCE with out feeling like dying. Of course, trying to keep your pants up so your co-workers don't see your butt was a pretty good NSV too!
