Over 2 mo po and stalled

That is a long stall but I have seen others on here that have had them. If you are measuring and logging everything it can’t hurt to check in with your nutritionist and see if they can see something you are missing but if you are following plan the stall will break and most likely when it does you will drop a few pounds right away.

Over 2 mo po and stalled

Unfortunately stalls are a reality. If your stall lasts more than 3 weeks, it's time to revisit your portion sizes, protein intake, and monitoring everything you put into your mouth. If you still are stalled after 5 weeks and you're doing everything to the letter, you should consult the nutritionist at your surgeon's office.
  3. Thank you kindly for all the information and your openness. I’ve re-read your posts several times over the past few weeks, as it’s such an important decision to make, and am scheduled for a MGB on February 24th. Ready for a new start!

    November Surgery Buddies!!!

Surprisingly in the last week or so I've lost more weight and I've been less careful about what I eat in terms of counting calories. Maybe I was having too little?
  5. It would be dependent on your individual issues. I had bad GERD pre-surgery with a hiatal hernia. Post surgery and H-hernia repair, and I went briefly off pantoprazole after a month. While I had no sign of reflux, I instead developed an ulcer at the stoma within two weeks and was put back on pantoprazole for the next 6 months. I'm still getting the occasional pain in the region of my stomach/intestine join, so I will not be surprised if my surgeon keeps me on the drug for longer than that. Having been on Nexium for 15 years, I won't blink if I'm on Salpraz for a few more.

Because your stall is longer than the usual 1-3 weeks duration, have a chat with your dietician & review your food choices, portion sizes etc. Do you measure & track everything you eat? It can be easy to over or underestimate, misunderstand your plan or include a food that’s not the best option. Sometimes a small tweak is all that’s needed to your food intake or your activity. You could be fighting against your other health concerns & any meds you may be taking too. Don't give up though. It may take you a little longer but it’s not a competition. All the best.
  7. Hi Kris. I’m doing well at 3 weeks except I am still quite swollen on incision line. Primarily it is centered above pubic bone. What bothers me is that I am more swollen right of center than left. The pubic area is also swollen. I thought I would be able to look down and see my pubic bone! Lol How are you doing?
  8. Well, had my pre-op visit with my surgeon and pre-admission testing done today. This is it! I told the dr. that I was feeling frustrated and like I'm not following the diet instructions because I've hardly lost any weight (6 lbs) in 1 week and he reassured me that the idea is for the liver to shrink, it's not for me to lose weight, so that made me feel a whole lot better. They also gave me the name of some vitamin patches (which I can't remember right now 🤔) that they want me to use for the first month so I'm ordering those today. I need to arrive at the hospital by 5:30am and confirmed I am his first case so I joked with the nurse when I told her, well that's good! He will have had a good night's sleep so he'll be fresh and ready to start with me haha!! 8 more days to go! 😀

Over 2 mo po and stalled

I had revion from VBG to RNY 12/3. SW 230. CW 205. Im having the exact same issues you are. The more I read I am noticing that many bariatric patients say stalls happen alot. Dont worry. Youve done very well for 9 weeks post opp. Be happy for yourself!
  10. Hey all.. I was sleeved 12/1 HW 432 SW 416 and current weight fluctuates between 378 and 370. Im not losing inches or pounds. I have multiple chronic illnesses, including PCOS. Goals consistently met, following plan. Its been almost a month and a half stalled. Ive tried everything- sugar, alcohol, carbs, protein. Cannot workout due to POTS, so doing what I can at home. Frustrated beyond belief. Sent from my SM-N986U1 using BariatricPal mobile app
  11. Pre-op I had reflux for years but it resolved any time I lost a significant amount of weight. I used to take Ranitidine as required, and more recently Omeprazole. I definitely considered bypass rather than sleeve, and my surgeon talked me through the pros and cons of both, but in the end I gambled on weight loss curing it again, and it has. If he had nudged me towards bypass I would have done that though. My regime is 3 months of PPI after surgery so I'll be stopping it in another week or so. I know or at least strongly suspect I'll be fine without it.

    November Surgery Buddies!!!

It really really isn't rwgtwins. You'll see a loss soon - you have to if you're sticking to your program. Stalls are so frustrating. Mine, immediately post op, was just under 3 weeks but it felt like 3 centuries. Bet you anything you'll be back here next week with 3 or 4lbs off to report.
  13. 🎵 Look at my sig!! I am so happy to be half way to my goal weight. 12 weeks since my op tomorrow and in that time I've lost 33lbs. I know it's likely to slow down, and I've had one stall of almost 3 weeks already but I am so amazed by how well this surgery has gone for me. I used to read about you all losing or having lost stones and stones and never really thought it would be me. Part of me still doesn't believe it! I was always hoping I would reach my goal by a year post op and I really think I can do it now. Huge thanks to all of you who have shared your knowledge and experience and helped me this far. I'll stop now - it's beginning to feel like a bad Oscars acceptance speech. 🤣

Soft foods, yum yum. My soft foods won't start until next week but I do love me some cottage cheese. I'll add that to my shopping list.

I also had mine done on 1/31. I am constantly thirsty so I sip every 5 minutes to keep hydrated. I had my one week post op today and got cleared to start soft foods. I tried cottage cheese and was able to eat about an ounce! It was a treat!!

Welcome! I'm glad you are doing ok! You're just a little over a week out already! I see you've lost 20 lbs, that's amazing! I struggle with my water intake as well. I've never liked water....NEVER....but it's super important that we get at the minimum 48 oz of fluids daily. What helps me is I line up my bottles of water, and I know I have to drink all of them by end of day. So I make it like a competition with myself. I drink the Essentia water, it's the only water I can stomach. Good Luck to you! I can't wait to celebrate your weight loss success! ♥

Yesss!! LOL So when I was finally able to have something other than chicken broth and then only had 3 spoonfuls and was full I was so upset! LOL. I'm not a coffee drinker, but was a big soda drinker before the 2 week pre-op diet. Had major headaches and caffeine withdrawal symptoms during the preop period. Thanks for the welcome!
  18. I had the sleeve in 2010 lost about 3 stone put some back on and had the bypassAugust 2031 I'd lost 45 lbs from Aug to Nov not sure what I've lost yet until I go back in March to see the Dietician but feeling good this time , the surgeon told me I'd only lose 3 stone but lost more than that I had to stay in hospital for 4 days because my sats kept dropping and I did three up blood the morning after but once that was up I was fine no regrets , good luck to you all ,

Heather! Welcome January Buddy! You are already 18 lbs down since your surgery! That's fantastic! Tomorrow will be three weeks since my surgery, and I'm still surprised at how little I can ingest. Just 2-3 tablespoons max., at a time! It's crazy! I will be starting Phase 3 (soft/bland foods) this Friday, so I'm looking forward to that. I'm still drinking a protein shake every day, it's the only way I can get all of the required protein in. I also don't have much appetite. I'm not craving food...I'm craving flavour? If that makes any sense at all? But most of all, I so want a darn coffee!!!! I dream of it. lololol. Totally normal of that one incision to be sore. It's the biggest one! Mine have healed very well and I'm already using Mederma Advanced gel for scars, on them. Keep up your positive attitude and enthusiasm! Good Luck to you!
  20. Hi, Has anyone ever experienced the Nutritionist and PA are in agreement on food/shakes, and the Psych Therapist disagreed with them regarding food/shakes. I am at the beginning stages of my journey, about 3 months in. I have lost a total 15 lbs. I go swimming ever night. I explained to the nutritionist and PA that I am super hungry after swimming. They have to eat small protein before swimming, then eat my dinner as planned, If that doesn’t work add in a shake or more protein. The drs office wants 3 meals a day but they are okay with protein snacks or non carb veggies/fruit snack The Psych therapist was completely against this and was very adamant about just doing 3 small meals a day, no snacks no extras etc.

Hi Everyone! I had my surgery for my sleeve on 1/31. Had my one week post op yesterday and doctor was pleased with healing so far. I had only been having chicken broth and protein shakes since surgery and he wanted me to move on to full liquids for a day or two and then pureed foods. My first meal of cream soup was suprising to me. 4 spoonfuls in and I was full. I was SO looking forward to having something with some flavor and then only 4 spoonfuls in and I couldn't eat anymore! LOL. I have one incision that is still really really sore and my surgeon says that is completely normal as thats the incision he inserts the stapler in and also pulls the stomach out of. I'm looking forward to this change and starting this new life! Starting weight: 248 Surgery weight: 238 Current weight: 220 Heather

    Work Accommodations

I’m a teacher and if I do need to “go” there needs to be a live person responsible for the classroom at all times. I’m remembering the surprise liquid #2 that happened in the early weeks before ground meat.

    February 2022 Surgery Buddies

I done the milk diet for 2 weeks pre op, lost 16lb and had a headache the whole time despite drinking 3L of water but I just kept reminding myself why and my goals and it made it bearable. Good luck 😉

    November Surgery Buddies!!!

I feel like the process is failing for me. I have tried more protein, more water, carbs under 50 and nothing. 4 weeks Friday since I lost any weight.

    Initial weight vs current weight

Highest weight: 330 goal weight: 195 (this was the brightest weight in normal weight range for my height on the BMI scale). current weight: 180 pounds. i was sleeved March 24,2021 so I’m almost at a year out. I’ve stalled for the last several weeks now. I tend to have long stalls and then sudden drops.
