Can a whole weekend be a NSV?

That is Awesome!!! Wow, I can't imagine how you must feel. You have worked very hard and deserve to bask in you weekend NSV and have many more! I bet you can fit a lot more pairs of pants in a load of laundry now
  2. I am so excited! I just tried on an old dress for Easter. It hasn't fit for about five years but it fits now! No elastic and no stretchy fabric. Before starting this WLS journey, I was most comfortable in women's size 32. My Easter dress is size 26 - and it FITS! My WLS is scheduled for May 12 and I am already down about 40 pounds in 2 months.

    Anyone else sick of food?

I am WAY jealous... that would be the biggest NSV I would ever be able to think of! Even when I had a fill I still felt hunger and still had cravings... then again... I was rarely able to make it past a 1.5cc fill without having problems and the highest fill I ever had was 2ccs.
  5. I went shopping yesterday because my work pants are starting to get too lose. I drove my poor mother nuts. I'm like between sizes. I can fit a 16 but they just feel tight and I'm not used to that so it's uncomfortable for me. I did have a nsv at jcpenny though. I put on a pair of skinny jean, which is an absolute first for me bc I've just never felt confident enough to wear them. They fit!!! They were perfect!! I loved them!! I didn't buy anything else though. I just wasn't happy with the way anything looked. I ended up buying two pairs of shoes because shoes are always my go to. They always fit and never make me sad.

    Someone Noticed!!!!

I just had another NSV. Okay, actually it was a scale victory, but not average. I was too heavy to weigh on my old set of scales until...TODAY! Woohoo!
  7. KarenG.

    No longer "plus size"!

CONGRATULATIONS. This is by far my favorite NSV.
  8. So, even though he's not my fiance anymore, my first big goal was tied very closely to my ex. I awnted to weigh less than him... AND I MADE IT! As of this week I officially weigh less than my ex and I also weigh less than I have since my freshman year of high school. I can't believe it! I love this sleeve! I love that it has given me the confidence to be me again! To be the same ol' goofy chick who used to love life! It's a happy day! Kim
  9. judych, go buy some new pants, you will feel better about your weight loss accomplishments! I remember doing the same thing, I was wearing 18w, and then tried on 14 becasue I was going on vacation and the others were looking bad. I bought new pants and gave the others to someone they would fit! Karen Congrats to your 1st NSV, luck2bLaura! You are doing great! Best wishes to you both! Karen
  10. The other day I didn't have any clean pants except these size 24 jeans that were made huge. I put em on and had a good 6 inches of room and of course my belt was too big so I just walked around in those pants all day. I got out of the back seat of a car and my pants fell to the ground. Embarrassing NSV but a NSV all the same!
  11. I've had a difficult time posting a profile picture of myself on Facebook. I used to have pics of "things" but never me. Yesterday I did it! I received many positive reviews!! I didn't have the courage before. Since summer, I've been taking pictures of myself. I finally decided to do it. And you know what, it felt good!!
  12. lito, its your choice whether to tell people or not, but im just a little confused on why you think those people will be less supportive of you for taking control of your weight problem . you worked hard to get where you are now, and obviously had a great group of people who helped you get there, so why would they think less of you or not be supportive of this ? no disrespect intended, im just confused. if anything, they will probably think even better of you because you're taking the bull by the horns and dealing with a problem in a smart, strong ,well thought out way. GOOD FOR YOU !!! addressing a situation in a comfortable, knowledgeable, positive way will generaly get you the same response. if someone has a negative response, its usually because they dont know anything about lap band. i ve had nothing but 100% support, and no negative comments, just a few normal healthy questions, and after i started loosing ..........well, then the nice compliments started and the nsv's. I honestly think you're making the right decision but making yourself stress out over telling people isnt healthy ..........(Save the stress for when your too loose pants start falling off in public..................picture that!) Good luck !!!

You go girl!!!!! I can't wait to shop in the 'normal' size stores again. You should be incredibly proud of yourself! What a way to start the new year! Suzy (By the way what does nsv stand for?):paranoid

    Suggested Mini-goals

I am realizing my next mini-goal is 188 for the Fall Challenge. I have been fighting the same 2-3 pounds for a month, in true turtle fashion, and seem to be on the low end lately. I don't think it's out of reach to see 188 in two weeks, since I was 192.6 this morning. ??? As for an NSV mini-goal, I suppose I'd like to see some improvement in the belly area. I wore a tucked-in shirt yesterday (hey, that's an NSV to post!), but have no business doing so, considering the shape of my bulging fat lower belly. Yuck. That's such a fat-filled flabby area I hate to let the tape-measure be an indicator of progress on that one. Any ideas? I'll check the BMI chart for my next mini-goal. Okay, I have the Fall Challenge, the Slow Losers Club, the Mini-Goal club, the NSV thread, I know there is another I want to join but can't recall...plus the LBT Christmas Gift Exchange...think I might be doing too much? Nahhh.

  18. lol. :lol:i thought i was the only one with a shoe tieing problem. i always make my husband tie them. or i just wear flip flops.lol thats defiently going to be one of my NSV 's......
  19. I was banded 12/3/13 and had revision 2/8/13 due to kink in tubing. I am happy to say I'm 58lbs down. I am having trouble seeing the changes just yet but I can feel the changes. My knee hasnt hurt in awhile, I have more energy, and NSV was when we went to Disney 2 weeks ago and kept up with my 5yr old daughter without even breaking a sweat. This is the first time I have attached before/after pics and I am nervous about doing that lol.
  20. Ya know I knew I was big, but didn't realize I was THAT big. I've lost half of my weight to lose to get to goal (315 HW 236CW 165GW) and finally I see the difference. Suddenly I'm more confident wearing clothes that I wouldn't have worn before. I dont fear clothes showing my belly or butt when I move. Its an amazing NSV. I don't feel all that smaller but I guess 79 lbs is a big chunk off of me. Only 71 more to go!
  21. Longhorn

    Christmas Doggies!

Wow, so many compliments, I don't know where to begin! I think Mr. Longhorn is kinda cute, too. He's a remodeling contractor so every bit of our house has been remodeled. That floor behind us is a recycled high school gym floor. And we laid the tile ourselves. We've always had a lot of dogs so the carpet had to go! I do look thinner in that picture than I really am. I think Corky is helping to hide me. And I'm 5'8" with a large frame (size 11 shoes!) so I can carry more weight than others. I'm only posting my official weight but my scales say I'm down to 208, a few pounds less than at the doctor's last week. That top in the picture is an NSV, though. When I first ordered it from Coldwater Creek a few months before my surgery, it didn't fit, but it fits great now! Thanks for your kind comments!

    HUGE NSV!

Congratulations!!!! That is awesome!!!! So happy for you, doesn't it feel wonderful? :-D Your weight loss and NSV is so incredible!!! Keep up the great work whoot!!!
  23. I can't tell you how important it is for you to keep a personal journal of your thoughts and feelings during this life changing process. Before I had surgery I wrote a journal entry nearly every day. I haven't read those entries until today. What a difference a year made in my life. The struggles I had a year ago are not even in the picture now. I wish I had been more diligent in journaling since I had my surgery because the NSV's that I have had are amazing. I was totally unaware of the extent of the NSV's that I would experience. I have kept of daily record of my weights tho and even that is astounding. Again, I want to express how important it is to journal.

    Band Sabateurs

Well you have to pat yourself on the back Lisa..months ago you may have stopped to have that french bread pizza with her..What a great NSV for you . Good for you..not giving in to her!
  25. Had a visit with my surgeon yesterday. At 155 lbs (down 56 lbs from day of surgery), I asked him what he would expect my goal to be and if my goal of 140 was realistic. This was his answer: I could stop right now. I am at a healthy weight (even though I'm still overweight by BMI standards), all my labs are good and I am off all medications and CPAP machine. From his standpoint, I've met his goal for my health. Anything I loose now is for vanity. Of course he was quick to point out that there is nothing wrong with vanity, but doctors view weight loss success by improvements in health, not clothes size. I left his office inspired. I'm sure I'll loose more weight in the next few months, but I felt so proud of what I've done in the past 4.5 months. I think my obsession with the scale has become less important and the NSV's will be celebrated. Like today I'm wearing my 5'10", 145 lb daughter's size medium top from Forever 21. Now that is a VICTORY!
