    Got called fat...an NSV

Great NSV!!!! Way to so Susan. Don't let the step-bitch-in-law bother you. Your husband loves and cares about you, your kids love and care about you, your friends love and care about you, and most important, you love and care about yourself. All the rest is just bunk.

    Got called fat...an NSV

Blended families are really difficult. I'm sorry your stepchildren don't treat you with the love and respect you deserve. Great NSVs though! I can't wait until my size 22 jeans fit. They go on (and even zip) now, but they're too obscenely tight to wear in public. Maybe in about 10 more lbs.... Your zoo day sounds GREAT.

    Got called fat...an NSV

Those are great NSV's!! But I will say that I hope your hubby says something to his kids if they constantly treat you bad...
  7. Actually, I had several NSV's this weekend and thought I would post them. My 13 year old daughter and I were getting ready to go on a road trip on Saturday when she looked at me and told me the jeans I had on were way to baggy and I needed to change. We went through 5 pairs of jeans before we found a pair we both agreed on, even though they were still a bit big. When I started back in April, I was wearing a 30-32. The jeans I settled on yesterday, which were given to me by a wonderful fellow LBT'er, were a size 22 and had plenty of extra room. My husbands children have always hated me and blame me as the reason their parents are not together. Nevermind that they were divorced in 1991 due to her cheating, she was married to someone else by 1992 and my dh and I didn't even meet until 1996. Well, his son has gotten married and she has taken on the role of stepmom abuser. I have a myspace and she didn't like something I posted about people who curse a lot. So, on her myspace, she posted a very nasty blog entry about me, to include calling me fat and ugly. Now, normally, I would have been put to tears by this. But, my NSV was that my only thought was, "sure, I may be fat now, but I will soon be thin and when I am, you will still be a bitch." (sorry for the profanity). Yesterday, we took the kids to the zoo. When we went two years ago, after one hour my feet were killing me, I was sweating profusely, was exhausted and generally miserable. Yesterday, we spent four hours there. My feet never hurt, I didn't get tired and was still full of energy at the end of the day. This was a huge NSV for me because it made the entire experience more enjoyable for everyone. Thats it for now.

    Argon's Activities

Congrats to both Argon and Yoda on being obese! And, yep, it does sound funny saying that but we all know what we are talking about. And congrats, Argon, on your NSV with the pants. I think that the NSVs are so cool.

    A Canadian "NSV" Thread

Good NSV, Green!!! Yesterday, instead of going to penningtons, where I've shopped for like 10 years, I decided to go to the mall. I asked my daughter if she minded if we stopped into Cotton Ginny, I havent been to there store since my youngest was born, there sizes didnt go big enough for me. Well, I was like a kid at Christmas, trying on everything!!! Even my 17 year old was having fun. Here mom, try on this!!! It was a great moment! I'm happy!! Oh, and I came home with 2 sweaters and compfy track pants!!

    A computer NSV

I did the same thing a couple of weeks ago, but it didn't dawn on me that it was a NSV! I just thought I didn't need them anymore because I hadn't ordered in such a long time!

    A Canadian "NSV" Thread

Here's an NSV that is important to Green: I can now put my clothes in the dryer without worrying that they will shrink. Yippee!

    A computer NSV

Tee hee! Here's one I never thought about: Just now I was cleaning up and organizing my many bookmarks, something I don't do nearly often enough. In the category "shopping" I deleted a dozen saved sites for PLUS SIZE clothes! Won't be needing those again, nosirree!!

Jana you should post your triumph ride on the NSV thread if you haven't already. I'm praying you will make your next goal for the OK ride, but you will get there regardless of the timing. Lisa depression is a toughy. I excused myself from exercise yesterday to do much needed chores. I had the depression aches last night. Exercise has always been helpful for my depression (tried every med--doesn't help), but in the last few months if I miss a day, I sure know it by evening. My increased energy level is definitely helping in this process.

    Yay for me!

How awesome NewSho - I bet you'll be acting for more than fun with your new figure! Congrats - what a fantastic NSV! for you

    Yay for me!

Well, so I do a bit of acting on the side (just for fun, nothing big). I got a call to do a bit part in a Spanish-language tele-novela (or soap opera). How cool! It's not a big deal (basically a cool background role, LOL ) but I've with the difficulties I've suffered lately (death in immediate family) this was a nice change from the routine. I show up 'on the set' and they whisk me off to the Makeup Chair. I sat there feeling like they were sizing me up even though they saw my picture and were given a card with my height and stats. (In my mind, I imagined they were saying "Oooh, she's a big one, isn't she?" ) My fellow actress in this scene is a very pretty, fresh-faced, 18-year-old blonde who is 5'2" and a size 4. She's really nice. (The other two lead actresses are the stars of the show - they are both tanned, gorgeous, Size 2's.) Off we go to the Wardrobe Trailer... and there the Wardrobe Supervisor shows us our costumes for the scene. They are identical 2-piece white cotton outfits (V-neck Top and Pants) and both are size Medium. Um... a medium? So the other actress puts hers on first. It's so baggy on her petite frame :rolleyes they tell her to 'roll it up' a bit. Then, I go to change. I stare at the outfit with dread - I haven't worn a medium since I was too young to spell 'medium'. :phanvan I am sure they are going to kick me off the set when they realize I can't wear the costumes they provided. (And yes, this does happen.) Anyway, I slip on the top - its not baggy, but it fits alright. So far, so good. Next, I try the tiny-looking pants. I wiggle into them - and they go on. They're a teensy bit short (I'm a tall gal with lonnnggg legs) but I could actually get into them. I can't believe it ! :faint: I keep checking the tags, thinking - are these a Mens' medium, LOL? But they aren't. Luckily the pants did have elastic in the back waist so that helped. I changed from my higher heels to flat shoes, so the pants didn't look so short on me. The Wardrobe Supervisor looks us over closely, then declares the outfits look perfect. I barely remember anything that happened during the production because I was so happy. The scene went fine, but the greatest thing was I wore a medium top and pants and lived to tell about it. Sounds crazy, but it's a Non-Scale Victory (or NSV) that I'll remember for a while. Yay for me!:clap2:

It's good to know that the weather change could be causing problems. I don't like being tighter, but it will pass and I love the cooler weather we're getting in the Houston area. Genn and Beachee Girl, Perhaps there needs to be a special recognition for bandsters who continue to follow the rules although losing slowly or not at all. If you continue to plateau, perhaps you should check with an endocrinologist. A journal would be invaluable to you and your health professioal. Cathy, Good move on the fill decision and good luck with the first fill. No more fills for me unless I am 100% positive it will be helpful. A new NSV for me. I just realized that I'm learning how to handle my emotional stresses in a much more positive way. Food was a bandaid for my depression that never promoted healing. I'm facing demons I ran from before. No where to hide now--unless it's LBT.com!

Hi Everyone, I'm back from San Francisco and just catching up on everything. It sounds like a lot has been going on. Paladin - I wil be praying for your FIL. Tell 3Loves "Hi" for me! Alicia - From what I have been reading, it seems really normal for the weight loss to slow down quite a bit once you get around and under 200 lbs. Don't be too discouraged! I'm sure you look and feel great! It will probably be slow going now so try to concentrate more on how much better your quality of life is now or on the NSV's. I can't wait to join you in being "just overweight."

HEY WHEEZY, Check out what i put under my name!!!!:biggrin1:

    Hey PRE Banders 2

Hello everyone, Massachusetts here....I just wanted to post my feelings, this site does help me get through the days waiting...You are all great and very helpful and inspiring...I have started the process not so long ago...I am self pay and wouldn't even think twice about not paying for it....To be thinner and healthier and enjoy my life is priceless no matter how much I have to work to pay for it...I have gotten my letter from my PCP and attended my first info session...My consultation is next Tuesday (10/24),wish me luck, then on Wednesday (10/25) is my mental health evaluation, then the following week is my nutritional evaluation, so I definately got the ball rolling but waiting is awful but I come on this site everyday and find at least one inspiring story, picture, nsv, or something that helps me to see that that will be me soon enough....I do once and awhile think what if something happens that I get denied...That is just the worry wart that I am...But in the end I jst cannot wait to be 100 pounds thinner someday and finally get to enjoy my life to the fullest.....

Yeah Dez on the NSV!! Congrats to you I had another 1.5cc's on Friday so now I'm at 7cc's. I am feeling the restriction now. I tried to eat a chicken breast last night and it didn't feel very good...No PBing, but very uncomfortable. I'm also enjoying "shopping" in my closet and in my "some day" bins of clothes. Every day I can wear something new! My pocket book is definitely thanking me! Sherri - please don't hesitate to share your personal life - we're all here for you and care very much about you...if you don't want to post what's going on in the thread, at least PM someone... Beth - I agree with Mary...although you may hate to hear "I told you so", it's better than suffering and maybe causing irreparable damage. Please call them. Long day again for me - went to the orthopedic doc and got my cortisone shots in my knees. I'll be good for about a month or so again and then I'll bite the bullet for another month. He is giving it to me every two months to get me through the school year and then hopefully I can have knee replacement in June after I'm done working for the summer. I have hot flashes the first night after the shots, so I'll be sleeping with the covers half off tonight! I'll feel like dancing in the morning, though!
