Barbara465 Congratulations on the decorating - I am looking forward to seeing pictures! And also congratulations on the "new" jeans from your alternative closet. What fun to get back into clothes you wore before! Cathy Congratulations on your 3 lb loss! Way to go! And I am glad your dates have gone well. Good luck to you. Leecelove70 Congratulations on your total loss of 51 lbs! Wow! Melissa I am glad your fill is okay so far. Sorry you felt a little deprived on Thanksgiving. I have heard that "nothing tastes as good as thin feels" and I think that is going to be my new motto! The presents you wrapped are gorgeous! I so wish I could do that. Pinkylee What terrific NSV's - I guess that is proof of the motto above! I did okay over the holiday - I did take my Protein but not all of my Water. I was so busy with company (nineteen for dinner) that I would forget to drink the water. I was able to eat a little bit of just about everything during the main dinner but no other meals. I tried to eat a little turkey in the evening and it came right back up. I just don't understand what makes the difference. I think I am chewing well and eating slowily and sometimes it works and other times it doesn't .

Hey Guys, Happy Belated Thanksgiving. I didn't feel deprived, I was able to eat my meal just fine as long as I went slow and chewed to mush. However, later that evening when everyone was eating again, I wasn't hungary but ate some anyway, and guess what, here come the slime and PB. I should have known better. I did however have a couple of NSV and SV for this holiday, here they are: * Didn't gain any weight over thanksgiving, in fact I lost weight! * Hit my 80lbs weight loss mark! WHAHOO!!!!!!! * fit into a size 10 skirt!!!! I can't believe it. * Tried on my wedding dress from 7yrs ago, and not only did it fit, but it was loose!!!! * Saw my mom for the first time since surgery, and she was amazed. * only 4lbs away from my Xmas goal!!!!!! I'm gonna make it! Sounds like everyone did amazing over the holiday's and for the first time didn't all feel bloated and miserable after a meal! Thanks for posting everyone, lets keep supporting eachother!!!!

Hey Pinkylee............I like the "fake the chores" routine. I'm good at that one! Hi Everyone. I've been absent from here of late. Tis the season. At last post I had agreed that I was overfilled but had opted not to have an unfill. I'm glad I made that decision. Gradually I have "loosened up" and I'm able to eat in moderation. There are times I still pb but in my mind this is what the band is suppose to do for me. I am constantly aware that one wrong move and I'll be in the bathroom or at the very least slime-ing my way through a meal. For awhile I wasn't able to eat any solid food and I was starting to get concerned, but now with care I can eat most things. I had a very reasonable Thanksgiving meal and even had a little pecan pie without guilt. I am very pleased with this fill and I hope it lasts. My scale has been bouncing from 211 - 208. I've seen 208 on two separate occasions and that makes it mine. I claim it! I still have hope of seeing Onederland by New Years Day. I had a nice NSV yesterday. I was at my daughter's house and my 12 year old granddaughter was hugging me. She asked, "Monga (my grandma name) are you getting skinny?" when I said that was my plan she said, "I'll be the only kid I know with a sexy grandma". Needless to say we all laughed and needless to say I LOVED IT! Have a great week and remember to enjoy the season.

Hey everyone - checking in... Got on the scale this morning and at the begining of my TOM I'm down 2lbs. I had been up about 4, but since my fill, I'm down those 4 plus another 2. I had DH get a few more tops out of my "some day bin" and I got two pairs of pants in a 2X. Congrats on the NSV, VLP! NSV means "non scale victory" and that's exactly what you had with the clothes fitting. Jessica - nice to see you here! Since we were banded the same day, it's nice to hear from you I am still having my Slim Fast shakes once or twice a day because I really like them. I eat about 4 heaping tsps of cottage cheese and a snack cup of diced peaches for lunch, or soup; and then for dinner I have some chicken or other protein meat and some veggie. My band is at 8cc's, so I don't take in much, but that's the way I wanted it. Keep us posted on how you're doing. Beth - I can't believe you watched that much football!! The drink you found sounds yummy...I've never heard of it. I still don't know why you have problems keeping your food down...when is your next appt? Well, after a nice long weekend (no work/school Wed - Fri and then the weekend) it's back to work tomorrow. I'm going to get out the holiday decorations and decorate my office. Hopefully the kids are healthier coming back to school as we had a lot of sick kids before the break. Have a great night!

hi all! I don't know what a NSV is?..... but I think I had one. I had a moment last night.... I had a big giant try-on-a-thon with all my clothes and couldn't believe what a difference. Clothes that I haven't tried on in a long time that used to fit were huge, and clothes that never fit before were looking hot! I have gone down about 2 sizes already. It was so satisfying to fit in new stuff. I am trying to resist shopping at all for a while so I don't waste my money! Leona I pm'd you about clothes....

WooHoo what's all this good news? Cathy I knew it would be a fun day if you let it. I'm so glad you are able to enjoy him. Just go with it and see where it goes. If nothing else, its always good for your morale. PinkyLee those are some awesome NSV's. Look at the band as a tool, one we badly need. It's OK to have it. Sounds like you made some major progress this Thanksgiving. Tread lightly with the in-laws, but be open to the friendship. Maybe you can find a happy compromise with them. I did pretty good over the holiday. I was able to eat stuffing and candied yams. I didn't eat lots, but was surprised that I could do it. It took me 3 days to eat a yeast roll. At dinner each night I would eat a little bit of it and finally finished the roll last night. Most of the decorating is done. Its down to the cleanup and last minute stuff. I need to go have a massage as my body hurts everywhere. I think it will be a relaxing day today as I have to return to work tomorrow. Most of my projects are in critical states so the next few weeks will be hectic for me. Hope everyone is doing well. Going to get my fill on Tuesday so maybe I can lose a few pounds this month.

Happy Belated Thanksgiving Everyone!! Aging parents and sisters who have fewer hormones than I do made it with love through the weekend. My jaws aren't aching from all the laughter we used to have, but there were lots of chuckles. NSV DH helps me shop for new outfits now. Before I was just too embarrassed to have him critique any outfit I tried on. NSV I actually had the nerve to try on a 2" heal shoe! DH said "buy it", but it was a very expensive "Helle" and I'm hoping to lose another shoe size (I'm down from 9 to 8 now) NSV This is the biggest of all. I stayed in onderland. NSV - and this is really the biggest of all. FIL and MIL extended an invitation to their home and I'm ready to make a visit. I've had a lot to process as our relationship was a painful one the past 3 years. I'm happy to say that my new inner strength will help me ignore the silliness I used to internalize. Dear friends. I still have a love hate relationship with the band and I wish with all my heart I could have accomplished thie loss thus far without it, but it's time to move on and be thankful for my new life. It is indeed so much richer. You guys mean a lot to me and I am really Thankful for LBT.com and all my new friends.

It's Teressa! Hurray! So proud of you for getting your degree, excellent work missy! And I wouldn't call it "just maintaining" when you have such stress going on, that's a definate NSV! Woot! Sherrijo: Didn't know you were in the hospital. Glad you are home now. Take care of yourself and be sure and get that nutrition in even if you are not really hungry and Get well! Never had kidney stones and don't want them from what I've heard. Take care of yourself!! Indianlight: Congrats on the NSV's. Both of those are reasons to celebrate, but especially what your doctor had to say!! Proud of you and hope to hear that the doc becomes HISTORY when you go back! Well, the scale has moved finally and I'm down another 1-2 lbs. Yippee!! Not sure that I will have 20 off by Christmas but if I can get at least 5 off, I'll be happy. Anything else will be my Christmas present...lol!! I am recognizing that sweets are my biggest downfall and that I must avoid eating too many. This is what I've done this past week and it's working. Okay, tomorrow is "stuff the turkey, stuff yourself day" but not for us bandsters! With the help of our band, we will enjoy the food but not be a stuffed turkey!! Have a good one and GIVE THANKS!!

    May Bandsters~November Chat!

Myra – Good luck with your barium swallow. Keep us posted! I wish you the best. Marz – keep us posted on your fill – hopefully this one hit the sweet spot. Missy – Your trip sounds awesome. I have not been on a mission trip since high school. You will be in my prayers. Marci – I don’t puke after drinking something cold but it is harder for me to get it down. My doctor told me to start out with hot tea to loosen the mucus from the pouch and open it up well. Then drink Water, etc. Do you start out with something hot and then switch to something cold? Just a thought if you haven’t tried it. Maybe your pouch is just a little stubborn and needs coaxing to handle colder drinks. I am officially 2 weeks out from my last fill and I am freaking out. I started out around 192 and by the first week was down to 188. I weighed yesterday and I was 192 and today I am 194. My TOM is upcoming but I have never gained that much. I just don’t get it. I have great restriction and I was thinking I might need to increase my calories more because I may not be getting enough to lose. I am chugging water this morning, hoping it is all water weight and will just be flushed out with enough peeing! Is there a January challenge? I didn’t get on in time for the Turkey Take Off. If we don’t have one, is everyone game for doing one after Thanksgiving? Oh yeah, major NSV to report. I went to Old Navy on Sunday and bought a pair of size 14 jeans! WAHOO! My bottom half is finally catching up with my top half!

    Oh Happy Day! 2

I achieved another NSV (No Scale Victory) today. I put on a pair of trousers, that when first bought were uncomfortably tight and ended up in the wardrobe after only one outting. Now they are comfortable, well more than comfortable, loose! Not loose enough for me to dare to go down to the next size, but what a wonderful way to start the day! Everyday, even with the occasional hiccup, has been a reminder that I made the right decison. I have finally invested in myself. Still feel it was a bit of a selfish action but I know both CM and I will benefit in the long run! I know there are going to be some aspects of my health that won't be resolved by my weight loss, but I look forward to the day when I can walk much longer distances without keeling over in pain. I truly do hope that with my combination of weightloss and gentle exercise, I may firm up my joints enough to prevent me causing any further damage. Not sure what I am going to do today, I know I have food shopping to do. That is also a major benefit my shopping bill - when I shop for household food and animal food - has dramatically decreased! I eat less than CM!!!! Lord help me when my size justifies clothes shopping lol. It's a good job I am not keen on Sinsburys TU! They tend to be at least one size smaller than the lable says. Why is it, that two articles of clothing from different stores can be so dramatically different? I have asked for clothes vouchers from MOnsoon and next for xmas presents. I won't spend them immediately, I may hold onto them until I get to a size 16 or maybe even 14! 16 is my initial goal and 14 my final goal. I have never been smaller than 14 and doubt I would look that good so skinny. I'd laugh if I managed to get into 12's and then probably panic! You know it's funny, a part of me is terrified about losing weight! Not sure why that should be. I should see it as a positive. Maybe that is the problem. Being fat (I still hate that word) protected me, I stopped thinking about being attractive, which meant I gave up on contemplating dating, safe in the knowledge that I would never be wanted. Maybe it will still be the case when I get down to my ideal size? It's silly though isn't it, I guess my blubber was keeping me safe from being hurt. I am going to have to work on my self-esteeem!

    October 2006 Bandsters!

Hi all, Count me in for the Christmas challenge I already started on the 14th Nov, as I want to lose a few more than just the 10#, to round off my weight to 120 kg. I think that I've lost about 4# so far, but I'll check it tomorrow morning! I had a day of highs and lows today. First the low, and slap me please, because I don't know WHAT I was thinking. Anyway, I bought a chicken, avocado and lettuce baguette for lunch today, mentally promising myself that I'd eat slowly, little bites etc, etc (yeah, stupid, I know, but I wanted bread for a change...). First bite I took I got stuck. I thought I'd chewed enough, but obviously not. No PB, but close. Plenty of slime - charming. I am not new to the whole PB / slime thing - I've had these episodes pre-banding, frequently on bread products because I STILL think I can eat them at a normal speed. After all the posts and advice I've had, I felt like a complete idiot. Now, the highs, which made me feel better - driving my mum home from work tonight, she says "you really have lost weight, look at the gap to the steering wheel!". I couldn't believe it - my belly used to just meet up with it, and now there's a gap of about 10cm (4 inches)!!! I also realised today that my second, tighter pair of old faithful work pants are almost falling off me!!! I still haven't lost enough weight that anyone outside my family has noticed yet, but I can smell that NSV in the air any day now... That's all from Goannabanda land for now! Keep up all the good shape-shifting work October band buddies!!!
