  1. Today I did two things that I am going to feel in the morning. Last winter my daughters and I picked up ice skating, which was a HUGE NSV for me and one of the dreams I'd hoped to realize after losing weight. After taking the entire summer and fall off, we started up again today. Well, 45 minutes of that and I was seriously hurting. The love is still there, though, and I didn't fall once! Then this evening I headed to the gym for a nice, quite ride on a bike (after having been with the kids all day, this was my reward). When I got there I met a friend who talked me into checking out the open volleyball which was just starting. Now, I used to play volleyball, pretty seriously, but stopped before my older daughter was born. The last time I played I probably weighed 310 or so, and lord knows I wasn't any good at that weight. So I haven't played, AT ALL, in about 8 or 9 years, and for 10 years before that I wasn't playing with any kind of energy or skill. In spite of feeling completely rusty, I let my friend talk me into it. Ho. Ly. Cow!! It was so much fun, and rather than feeling like I did the last time I played, I felt like I did when I played IN HIGH SCHOOL (when I weighed about what I weigh now). It was SO MUCH FUN and I can't wait to do it again!! I'm on a high right now from this experience, that was both familiar and beloved and also completely new and exciting. But I am going to feel this big time tomorrow. It's a good kind of hurt, of course, and I am stoked!! :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2:

Julie, I so hear you about the seats! The last time I was at my daughter's middle school auditorium, the seats were so snug I was actually afraid my big behind was going to get stuck. We went to her concert Friday night and I was worried, then happily surprised when I had no problem fitting into them, and even had extra room! I think that is a huge NSV! Bluehill, congrats on reaching the less than 100 to lose mark, doesn't it feel awesome??!! I have definitely decided that my next goal is onederland. I would like to be there by March 1st. I have about 38 pounds to get there, so I think that is a reasonable goal. 12/1: No exercise. 72 oz. Water 12/2: 40 minutes treadmill. 72 oz. water.

OMG!!!!

You guys are all so inspiring. It makes me sorry I haven't visited our Junebie site more often. I do tend to wallow in my own stuff too much. I, too am looking for that sweet spot. I've had two fills, and I can still certainly eat too much and chew less than I should be and get away with it. Getting a fill is a little difficult. I had to wait 6 weeks for an appointment this time, which was last Thursday, however, we had a rare and unusual snow storm that made getting there almost impossible. I had to go to the mainland for it and even the ferry I should of been on was shut down for wind. The good thing is, they told me to just come over next Thurs. and they'll try and fit me in when I get there. Not another 6 week wait. I have been very discouraged because after my initial loss, I've been at somewhat of a standstill for a long time. If I'm able to eat more, I do. I feel like I need some drastic torturous behaviour modification to stop. Hook me up to electrodes or something. What's keeping me from total despair, however is that I'm still getting small nsv's like fitting into something I haven't worn for a long time, or my favourite, the steering wheel no longer rubbing on my belly. Thank you all for being here, you're great.

    Someone Noticed!!!!

I just had another NSV. Okay, actually it was a scale victory, but not average. I was too heavy to weigh on my old set of scales until...TODAY! Woohoo!

Congrats Barbara465 on the NSV! I guess I've had a NSV myself this week. This week is the first week that I have actually noticed the weight loss in myself. I mean it's obvious with my clothes but it has taken time for me to see it in me. I can actually start to see my cheek bones again (and I have pretty nice cheek bones). I can feel the outline of my ribs when I lay down flat (still have to press through some of the fat, but I do have ribs). I can see climpses of my collar bone at certain angels. And most of all, I've noticed that I stand up straigter. Melissa Lea

OK I've got a NSV. Today it is cold in Houston, 39. My little jacket that I borrowed from my DH wasn't warm enough. I have a 3/4 length coat that I bought when I was consulting in Detroit. It was spacious as I wore suits then and needed room for my suit jackets. Today I put it on and the coat could fit 2 people. There was no way I could wear it. DH had to lend me yet another of his jackets to wear. I'm lovin it!!!! So far so good on the fill. Move to mushies today. I hope the thicker solution at 2.0 will give me restriction. Can't wait to try it.

My NSV Goals! What are Yours?

This is a great thread! I think I shall put in my fourpenneth. NSV's suprisingly already achieved!: 1) Dropped 2 dress sizes 2) Able to lie in my bath with space either side and don't have to heave my heavy bod out. In fact in some ways that was easier lol, now I have to rely more on my shoddy knees, it takes me longer to get out because the bath sides aren't supporting me doh! 3) Wearing boots without cutting off my circulation! My calves are now just the muscle not the flab that hdad creeped on as well! 4) Standing on a scales and being elated with the result. NSV's to be achieved: 1) To get down to a size 14 (UK) Currently 18 so have another 2 dress sizes to go. 2) Being at a healthy BMI. 3) The ability to wear my mums diamond ring. 4) To be able to stand in front of a cmarea and not feeling like I am in front of a firing line. 5) To be able to look at a pic of me nad smile instead of feeling that I have ruined what could have been a great picture. 6) To go to Disney and have all the photos taken that were done last time and being happy to put them on display! (This one may take a long time to achieve) 7) To go out on a date. 8) To have confidence to know that I am beautiful 9) To feel human again. (Sheesh I have some issues! :Banane17: ) I am sure there will be a lot more NSVs as the days and months go by but these are all I can think of at the mo. S0rry for prattling on Suzannexx

NSV Goal? Um... Playboy? Oh yeah, Carnie Wilson did that already* back in her good days. Dang. I have to think of some other ultra-shocking post-WLS goal now... LOL *(Everyone's seen the pics though, right? I dare not post a link, :rolleyes )

    November/Christmas Goal

No nibblin'? That is awesome Roxanne....GREAT NSV....well done!!! Yeah, Xmas parties.....ours is next week (potluck); I'm bringing Nanaimo Bars....I think I"ll be okay....as I'm too paranoid that something bad will happen if I'm "bad" in public!! Aaaaaah, the shame of fear! Works everytime! I think it might be "tougher" and a little more obvious (that I'm avoiding stuff) when I go to the "at home" thing though (you know what I'm referring to, Roxanne!)....so wish me luck! That is next week as well.

    November chat...again....

Hey All - Another exotic and exciting day in Mortgage Lending.... Let's see - where to begin? Eileenie - if you are well enough - perhaps we can meet for lunch next week. I will be in town on Wed afternoon and thru the full work day on Friday. Thursday or Friday work for you? Mandy - Ah - love that kid - but isn't it nice when she goes to school? :] Chris - You're easy (at least on the Humor scale) Anne - you are so right about my lucky man. I remind him frequently. :] I love that Barbie thing, too. It's hysterical! (and all too true) Kat - I love the Black and White classic look. And Aw Shucks - you are too skinny to wear my party dress! I bet you are truly heartbroken over that.... lol! (anybody else? It will fit a pear between like 16 & 22) Betty - oh sure. Now I am going to have to fess up that I haven't made it back to the gym, STILL. *sigh*. Laziness, thy name is Irene. I suppose that if we both won the "big" lottery at the same time, I could survive sharing with you, Betty. Agreed? I think 200 million would probably split well between the two of us. :] Mary - wow! Your town has all those cool winter activities! We don't handle winter at all well here in Dallas. The city literally shuts down if we get more than an inch of snow. Employers let us use sick or vacation time to cover the absences.... I used to laugh when I first got here - until I started seeing the accidents on the roads. ***ICK*** But, I personally think a little White Christmas action is a good thing - ESPECIALLY since I will probably get to stay home! Cindy - cool about the Walmart Custom CD thing. I might have to do that, too. I have the same problem with only liking a few songs. The older I get, the more particular I become.... I think they haven't published any good whole albums since the 80's... LOL! Patty - HI!!!! So glad to see you. So, when is the time estimate to hear back on the appeal docs? Did they JUST submit? I remember this waiting between appeals to be particularly trying for me. I got pretty antsy. One thing I did was call once a week to "follow up" on the process. At least I knew right away that "they never recieved the paperwork". I would not rely on the Attorney's office... follow up yourself. You will feel better about having taken some action. At least, I did. Dianne - NOT wear a BRA??!?! - That's just Crazy Talk.... :] Seriously - unless you are going to drop down to a B cup - you probably will always want to wear one - but at least if you are a C or a D you will be able to FIND one that fits - any time, anywhere. Yep. A trip to VS is on my list of NSV's for the future. I REALLY want to be able to go in there and not have those supermodel chicklets that they always seem to hire LAUGH when I come in. Hurry back and give us all the news! Well my dears - I am past my lunch hour, again. I have to get back to the old grind and keep on top of the pile - cause if the weather is crappy - I WON'T BE HERE. :] I really hope it snows - HARD. Or better yet - freezing rain. :]

Laura - Glad to hear you got some relief. Melissa Are you at 3.0 or above? I was shocked when they put in .4 to make it 3.0 and then wanted to go another .4 because barium went so fast. I declined and it's a good thing. Water went down ok at center, but my one sip of liquid protein since being home seems to be taking it's time. All I can say is--yeah! I want restriction and I can handle liquids and mushies for as long as necessary I'm off to lah lah land until I begin teaching this afternoon. One more NSV. I stayed in Onderland even at the Surgi Center with all my clothes on. I was 198.6. My scale showed 199.5 fully clothed right before I walked out the door.

Here is a fun NSV for me. I got a call yesterday from a company I sent my resume to on Monday and have a job interview tomorrow! I have been out of work for 14 months and it's been 9 years since I was last on a job interview. I pulled out my old work suits and my DH fell over laughing. It looked like I was playing dress up in my dad's clothes. I did finally find a suit in my closet that fits, and the suit jacket is a size 12! I'm going out today to find a top for under the jacket and a necklace to jazz it up a bit. I just can't believe the size 12 jacket fit!!! Wish me luck!

My NSV Goals! What are Yours?

My NSV Goals! What are Yours?

"funnier sex". I am getting a vision - big long shoes - red ball noses.... Hey - it's funny to me. Thanks for the chuckle, Julie. After a mere 40 pounds - Knee Pain is all but gone and general well being is much improved. Seatbelt extenders only required depending on the type of plane. I can find more than 1 item of clothing that fits on any given shopping excursion and I can fit into all my clothes again. People are noticing me more and noticing my weight loss Future NSV Goals: no more seatbelt extender on any plane frilly girl matching undies size 12-14 get hit on in a bar. (yeah - I know - I am happily married - but it's a vanity thing. I would turn him down, very sweetly.) Not having to worry about killing the hydraulics in my office chair. Not being the fattest person in any room. I know there are thousands more - but these are what come to mind right now.

My NSV Goals! What are Yours?

I'm nearly at goal weight now, so I've enjoyed lots and lots of NSV's. But really from hereon in, weight is actually pretty irrelevant to me, its NSV's I'm after. 1. I want to get rid of those annoying poochy bits - the muffin top, the jiggly bits on the sides of my butt and that last stubbourn pocket of fat on my belly. I'm realistic about not looking like a supermodel though. 2. I want more MUSCLE. I really want to still change my body composition quite substantially although this may not involve a lot of actual weight loss 3. I want to be in an Australian size 14. 4. I want all this by next week. Sigh. I know it will probably realistically take me another year to hone my body to what I want it to be. I've done the big weight loss bit, now's the time for the sculpting and toning. 5. Next October I want to run my first half marathon.
  19. Ok, this is a rather weird NSV. My manicurist ( a beautiful, tiny little girl) weighs exactly what I've lost as of today. I keep fluctuating between feeling such a sense of accomplishment to sliding back down the emotion scale thinking I have to lose another one of her plus a few pounds.

My NSV Goals! What are Yours?

    1. I want to be able to cross my legs like a lady. 2. I want to be able to tie my shoes with getting short of breath 3. To be able to buy a pair of knee boots that fit my calves. 4. I want to graduate out of "granny panties" 5. I want to be able to wear bracelets that don't need the "extra link". 6. I want to loose that "buffalo hump" on the back of my neck. 7. Buy a pair of pants off the "regular" rack. 8. Raise my arms or walk without worrying that my "shirt is riding up", and my butt is showing. 9. Not be the "fat girl" in every photo. 10. Ride in an airplane without a "seatbelt extender". I guess I could go on and on....but these are some of the things I think about, dream about and hope for.
