  1. I feel like this might be a stomach infection. I've had this before but not quite like this so Idk I woke up did my normal poop and ever since then my stomach cramps up. Wasn't hungry at all like always so I had a Protein shake for Breakfast but I couldn't drink half of it without it feeling like I had to poop. So I switched to Water. I have a cramp almost like a period cramp but I bit higher. My butt feels like I have to release but every time I go nothing. The cramping is what hurts Any suggestions? Haha sorry if it's Tmi but who cares? Lol
  2. I am pre-op, probably going to have RNY. I have read a lot about how having WLS increases your risk of having gallstones and needing to remove the galbladder. I had my galbladder removed in 2004. Is there anyone here who already had their galbladder removed before they had WLS? Did it affect anything? I think I already have my own little version of dumping syndrome....I have diarrhea all the time. Maybe I have IBS? My tummy is upset by pretty much everything I eat, sometimes it's quite painful. I have noticed that if I suddenly go on a diet I have bright yellow bile diarrhea for a few days until my body gets used to making less bile. I guess this is something I will discuss with the surgeon, but I just wanted to see if there is anyone here like me.
  3. This may be a little TMI, but I am on day 3 of my 4 day pre op liquid diet and this morning i started having diarrhea. Was wondering if this has been normal for some people? I have surgery on Tuesday 4/14 /15
  4. I just got the surgery. I'm feeling ok. Just some pain in my tummy and tenderness in the incision sites. Is it normal to miss chewing? I'm on day 6 and omg I need to chew. I can't take any more jello or ice pops or water or broth. I feel like I'm going nuts. Lol. Is this normal? And sorry if this is TMI but when should the first #2 happen? Lol.

    Constipation ugh!

Milk of magnesia is a my little constipation saver!! Since my surgery I've had to do, what I call a cleansing about 2 1/2 weeks. I tend r get a upper right pain as a reminder it's time to drink milk of magnesia. It was recommended shortly after my surgery when my bowel movement didn't come regularly within 5 days out. Ensure to plan to be home after drinking or near restroom within 1 to 2 hours after drinking. For some sooner. When it hits you, it's hits. After I drink it I follow it by drinking as much Water as possible to somewhat finish my cleansing sooner so I can leave my house. Caution: if you feel urge to release gas, be very careful as it may be part of cleaning and not gas. Sorry TMI but like I said it my miracle little must have in stock all the time. Walgreen brand cherry flavor is my favorite and many times buy one, get one free or 50% off. Good luck, hope this helps and feel better. PS Oh always keep peppermint handy as well. Helps release gas and tummy aches.
  6. Okay ladies, I have a female question for you. I have read some posts of ladies that had not had their periods for awhile prior to surgery but started them back up after their surgery. Has the opposite happened to anyone? I started my last period the day after surgery (2/19). I had it for 7 days but now I am 22 days late (and there is NO WAY I'm preggos). I'm only 40 years old so I hope that I'm not starting early menopause. Up until now, I have been pretty normal (been off birth control for over a year now). Anyone else had this happen? If so, how long until you started back up?
  7. @@Quest4TheNewMe I'm sorry. I understand what you mean. American culture nowadays is so much TMI, so much everything out there, that it makes it hard for people to simply want to get on with their lives.

    Chickening Out on TT

Being financially prudent does not count as chickening out. If you are concerned about the future of your finances, then it is absolutely the right decision to wait on the tummy tuck. If, however, your decision is motivated by a concern about the recovery, then as someone who has had the procedure, I would encourage you to continue to think about it. I have had literally pretty much every body procedure you can have in the body contouring scope of plastic surgery and the TT is far and away the one that I am most consistenly in awe of the results. The worst part about the TT was that it was really hard to actually get out of bed for a few weeks, since you can't really do any form of sit-up motion. (also- TMI here, the first week, pooping was fairly evil when your ab muscles are all stitched together). Overall, as long as you are financially comfortable, don't chicken out on the procedure, but if you are unsure about the future, then being a responsible, financially secure adult is not even remotely considered chickening out
  9. Thank you for this thread. I'm one month out and haven't had a period yet, just spotting, which looked like old blood (sorry if that's tmi) . I was starting to get worried but it's comforting to know others are going through this .

    Poop talk.... TMI

Update - okay SO I had a normal bowel movement today- I mean it was nothing huge but it was normal! This really made my day. What I believe is happening - I had a bad case of hemorrhoids (sorry tmi) and that was causing lots of pressure in my bottom on top of the pressure of gas and I've read never to trust a fart which had me running to the bathroom. Lol. Then thinking I was constipated I did the stuff to help which made my diarrhea worse which made my hemorrhoids worse. So I added soft foods back into my diet the last two days. Also I think a lot of it is anxiety bc yesterday busy all day and I hardly had any issues.
  11. Riz2006

    Poop talk.... TMI

So still having the issue. Way less diarrhea (probably 3-4x/day) and not to have TMI but it's not all watery persay but it's very soft but still feel pressure and have an urge to go with very little coming out. And it's an urge... I mean I pretty much run! I did do an enema, drank some m of m, taking marilax, sitz bath. Still no solid poop but maybe I'm expecting too much? I did go in yesterday for blood work and give urine sample. Dr office is closed today but I was able to see my results online and all my numbers seemed to be in the normal range. I have zero pain(more pressure then pain) other then in my butt. I know I have hemorrhoids so I'm wondering if that is my pressure feeling? I was reading online and it (butt pressure) can be brought on by anxiety which I have horribly. It almost seems if I'm busy I don't notice it. I'm going to go back on my anxiety meds and see if that helps. Going to try to start back on some mushies (I have been on them for a week but haven't eaten any bc I didn't want to get backed up more) to see if that helps with the loose stool. I'm going to call Monday and insist on X-ray or u/s if I'm not better. And maybe this is all a "normal" feeling after surgery?? Don't know. Just frustrated! I felt like my old self (minus the 42lbs) last week and just want to feel like that again!

    Burping and hiccups after fill

You're definitely too tight. For the past two fills, I've received 2 cc of Fluid, but with my last fill I couldn't stop burping when I drank a Jamba juice and some of the drink would come back up with the burp. (Nice....TMI...) Then I would hiccup. I went right back to the doctor that afternoon and explained what was happening. The nurse said all of those were bad signs. I'm learning how much is too much of a fill, but today I'm wondering if she took too much out when I went back. What everyone has already said is correct: 2 cc is a big fill and even 1 cc can make a huge difference. Heck, even 1/2 cc can make a difference. I'm learning the perfect fill is a lot like a butterfly I can't quite reach on my tippy-toes. Good luck. We'll get there.

5 weeks post op weight gain

Not to ask for TMI but you may be experiencing some constipation. Our bodies can hold like 8 lbs of waste and if you just started eating solid foods, that could be the reason. Keep up your Fluid intake and things will move along including the needle on the scale. Oh, also search around this site for the "dreaded 3 week stall". That should at least alleviate any fears you have about this because it's perfectly normal and almost everyone goes through it.
  14. So today for some crazy idea I took a tiny piece of watermelon and sucked the juice out of it and I think some piece went down to my stomach ever since I feel like I can't breath until a bit a go and got nausea and had to vomit (tmi sorry) so if it helps anyone that's only 8 days post op don't do it it sucks! ???????? ????

    Backed Up!

Hey yall... sorry for the TMI but I need some suggestions. I literally have not had a bowel movement since a day before my surgery 8 days ago... I am still on full liquid so have been doing protein shakes and yogurt etc., but nothing! I have reduced my percocet intake to 1 every 4 to 6 hours and I know that can really contribute too. I have used a stool softener/laxative for two days now and nothing. I called my doc and he recommended milk of magnesia but I don't think I can stomach that stuff. Anyone else struggle with this right after surgery and have any suggestions? I am drinking Celebrate ENS 4 in 1 shakes which have fiber in them too but clearly not enough :/.
  16. I wanted to share my first month experience! The good, bad and TMI also!! All in all my recovery was very easy. No nausea or vomiting. I am able to eat most things by now (still haven't introduced beef or raw veggies). I don't crave many things. I am surprised at how much I can eat but still not eating much in a day. Sometimes I can eat more than others, don't really know why. When you eat too much you will know and be miserable! Walk it out! I am getting down over 100 grams of Protein per day, how you say? I add an extra scoop of unflavored Protein powder to my Advocare Protein Drink so I am getting 54 grams in 1 shake and I am drinking 2 of those per day most days. I am walking a lot! Get a Fitbit, it really helps you get those steps in per day! I am off on Fridays and walked 7 miles that day-not all at once but there were 90 active minutes! I still cannot lift without feeling some strain so I don't do it yet! My weight was stalled for 2.5 weeks (very frustrating for a new sleever) but one morning I woke up and 5 pounds gone just like that and now a couple of more! I have not experienced dumping but I will say what I experience is more like a cleansing! There is a sense of urgency but plenty of time to find a bathroom! It is usually very welcome because it make the bloating go away! I wake up with a flat stomach (compared to what it was) but once I eat or drink anything my stomach does bloat. I am urinating so much less (which is nice) and urine is clear so I know I am still getting plenty of fluids! I have saved a lot of money not going out to eat anymore. Some of my incisions are still open but healing. I have not experienced in excessive hair loss. My first period out after surgery was long and heavy, doctor said that was normal. I have lost 20 lbs yet no one has said anything about it yet except my husband! Could be because I am still wearing the same clothes! I have a lot more energy!! The ugly is that I have been really moody, my family can attest! I don't know if this is from the changes or the building a house and current house in disarray and long work hours! Either way, my family has been very patient and I hope it goes away!! Very pleased that I did this, wish I would have done it sooner!
  17. I'm 3 weeks post op. I'm feeling terrible, well I feel fine, my bottom, not so much. Feel like someone shoved a cactus up my arse. Started yesterday around 8pm. Felt the urge to go the bathroom #2. Well only thing came out was diarrhea. Still continued to feel pressure in my bottom but again only diarrhea came out. Did I mention TMI. This literally continue from 8pm until 5am. Every half hour I had to run to the bathroom. I soaked in the tub for half hour around 3am I couldn't take the pain in my bum anymore. Around 5am I did manage to get 2 hours of sleep. Took kids to school and came home and used the toilet again (same crap-literally) and managed to sleep for 2 hours but woke up again with urge to go. So my butt has been through the ringer to say the least! I still feel pressure but not quite as bad. Still having to run to the toilet but not explosive as before. :/ I did call my nurse this am and she said to take some maralax (I had some this am) and to use preparation h for what I'm sure is a crap load of hemorrhoids at this point. (I also took a stool softener before bed last night). Nurse says its sounds like I have a "plug" aka poop plug and the soft poop is coming out around it. (Did I mention TMI?!). If the maralax doesn't work in the next day or so I have to go in to ER and get it removed by hand. :/ I really don't want that (although at this point I will pretty much do about anything for relief). Help. Any other suggestions? Please tell me I'm not alone. Also I'm trying to push my fluids like no other!

    OCTOBER 2014

@dc0520--Nah, not TMI for me. That sounds horrible!!! Ouch! That's great no implants would be necessary. Ummm, Yeah, I'm 42. I don't need youthfull fullness, I'd just like them out of my arm pits when I lay down, haha!! I haven't had rashes since my surgery, but I might start trying the trick someone mentioned on here, just to get some stuff documented. Or if I check into just a lift and it's a reasonable cost, just pay for it out of pocket. We'll see I guess! Yeah, I'm supposed to get more like 60-80g of Protein, but I have a really hard time eating more than I am right now! It's odd having that issue now, LOL! My PA said I could supplement with Protein shakes, but they fill me up SO much that I don't want any meals after that. Hard to find that balance!

    OCTOBER 2014

Hair loss hasn't been noticeable after the haircut so win! I'm usually around 700 calories but I do beach body programs as well. I was ordered to hit around 65-70 grams of protein and 1000-1200 cals a day. We will see what happens. My workout regime is prob the reason for increase but I'll adapt to keep it up ❤️ I wanted to wait on the lift/reduction as well...my bariatric dr would like me to wait but considering my massive breakdown of skin from working out its going to get done early. Under my right breast I've had staph infections twice and bleeding from the sweating and hanging of skin. Tmi I know but I think everyone should look out for these issues. And to answer your question no. I am not getting any kind of implant. They are using my own tissue and molding it to create upper pole fullness. Implants are usually suggested if you want youthful fullness and be able to go bra free. A lift is sufficient as long as you are good relying on a push up bra ???? I didn't want foreign objects either.

@Shadow427--I'm so excited for you to rent a bike!! Whoohoo!! I agree, What a difference a year makes! @Luna222--How frustrating!! I think a call to your surgeon's office would be in order. Just to see if they have any insight as to why you might be stalled. Do you keep a food journal? Maybe they can take a look at it and offer some suggestions. I've been stuck at 177/178 for going on 3 weeks now I think. Pretty sure if I could "go to the bathroom"....(Sorry, TMI) I might lose a few!! @Bronxmerci--So glad you're doing so well! Great job on your loss! And I am quite impressed you're not falling for your son's dad's smooth attempts at getting you back! You're a strong woman!!

Hello and welcome to our newest forum!

In person, I seldom talk TMI around men but on a forum it doesn't bother me. Most of these men have had wives or sisters they know this stuff exists, and as a mother to 2 boys and a husband tee hee I definitely know their stuff exists.
  23. sleeved the 19th around 10:30am. The first day wasn't bad but as general anesthesia wore off, the IV pain meds were NOT my friend. SO nauseous. powered through it (after puking some yellow bile) and got up and walked laps probably 4x that afternoon/evening. Dry mouth was horrendous... even with the swabs. thankfully I went for leak test around 8:30am so I was allowed to sip Water starting around 9:30am. finally around the 2pm shift change, nurse figured out it was IV pain meds causing the super nausea (since I kept begging for more anti-nausea and acid reducer, thinking that was the problem). switched to liquid hydrocodone and problem solved (although it did conk me out). Discharged 2nd day around 6pm, hubby stopped and got Rx filled while I walked around. got a bag of sonic ice and unsweet peach tea and headed home. haven't really taken pain meds since day #4 (even then, was to sleep) so feeling really blessed of easy recovery. also very lucky (TMI) to have 1st BM on Sunday evening. BUT then tonight, have had watery diarrhea 2x anyone else suffering with this? Is Imodium safe to take? all I have is pill form but I could chew it up. I know I'll definitely be adding a bit of sugar-free Fiber to water tonight and all liquids tomorrow but also dont want to be running (literally) to toilet all night . Also very worried b/c supposed to start back at work in a couple days.... definitely don't want this problem at work! (I have another 8 days of full liquids before purees..... sigh) reassurance/advice/suggestions appreciated! hope everyone else's recovery is moving along smoothly....
  24. @@della street .. I agree with you about "where the heck are all the AZ bariatric patients?" Banner Gateway is even a Bariatric Center of Excellence so obviously they are a busy place. hmmm...well, my surgeon submitted to my insurance for final clearance last Tuesday so I am hoping to hear back this week. He said, "The office staff tells you 3weeks, but it only takes one normally, so call next week if we haven't called you." haha. I plan to call Thursday. That will be a week and few days in. He says I have everything else so once that is back we can schedule for April The office manager there had a sleeve surgery 5 years ago and she is very vocal about #2, so it's not really TMI. We should know everything we are going to face so thanks for your candor.

    Women Only!

TMI but I've been wondering :/ I got my period the day after my surgery, my period has always been light, medium for three days and will then go back to light and finish within 5 days of starting. This time my period is a whole other beast! I have been bleeding very heavily, not soaking per hour, but it is noticeably different, today is day 7 and I'm still bleeding...not as heavy but it's there ????....is this just how things are now until I lose all the weight or is it like a one time thing?
