Hello every one. Well, I went into the city to pick someone up at the airport. Hit the malls. Am I crazy??! :bananapartyhat: There is a Christmas rush in Mexico too! I went to Walmart. I found a scale where you pay 2 pesos and it spits out your weight. How desperate am I, I weighed my self dressed in a store full of peoples without a care. :faint: That is a NSV of sorts!!! Oh and not only once but twice, just incase! I was happy with the numbers considering I was dressed and wearing sandles.:clap2: My major problem right now is I am barely able to keep anything down. Christmas we went out for supper. :hungry: I had a forkful of mashed potatoes and stuffing and 2 bites of ham and ever since, I can barely drink. Today I suffered from a caffine withdrawal headaache and probably from dehydration. I really do not want to have to get an unfill here:cry Mandi, you had a similar problem, right? How long did it last for you? My fill was Dec 5th. I really want to eat guacamole and refried beans. I have only been eating tings that do not taste gross coming back out. Because everything has!! Thanks girls!

    I have a silly question

No silly questions around here.....a few silly answers, yes, but no silly questions!! If you are using Choose2Lose.com (and that's the only one I can figure out myself!)......when you get it designed, copy the top address box and take it to your 'edit signature' and paste it in your addy box. Every time your weight changes you have to go back and build it again...kind of a pain but they are neat to look at!! NSV=non scale victory. Some great thing that has to do with your journey but not necessarily losing another pound (like being able to cross your legs for the first time in years!).
  3. Okay--I created a ticker at ticker factory, but I cannot figure out how to get it to the bottom of my posts. I'm sure it is something relatively simple and I am just an idot!:bananapartyhat: Also, another stupid question--What does NSV stand for? I am fairly new to the boards, so still learning! Thanks for the help! 258h/248s/227c/140g Banded Nov. 30, 2006 Dr. James Smith, Pueblo, CO

Howdy! Another glorious day in Mortgage Lending... oh joy, oh rapture. Yes, I still haven't won the lottery. *sigh* I guess I had better get out and buy tickets tomorrow night for the next ten draws. I have decided to cut myself some slack until after Jan 1. My goal between now and then is to remove all of the miscelaneous junk food from my home. I have already "disposed" of the spinach dip. eh hem. I would like to think that spinach dip counts as a vegetable - at least until 2007. But I have cut up a loaf of pumkin bread and a loaf of zuchinni applesauce bread to share with my co-workers. I have determined that I may have to have my Sister Mary assasinated to protect myself from her baked goods in the future. You could use her lemon bars and pumpkin bread to wring state secrets out of spys. That stuff is better than any drug I have ever tried. DANG! And we won't even go into the whole "PIE" situation. My SIL Johnnie is safe - because while her zuchinni breads are good - they are resistable. Lucky Johnnie... I have scheduled a fill for Jan. 2 - so I will find out if I have dilation or not. I expect (and fervently hope) not - but one can never be sure. Plus - the fill will help me to keep on track for my very ambitious goal of 15 lbs for the month of January. I really would like to lose 50 lbs from the DAY of surgery in the first year. I am aiming for 280 by Feb 6th. Everybody wish me luck. Mandy - I am going to be counting on you to help pull me back from the pumkin bread edge... Hugs!! I hope your flu is short lived... Feel better. Chris - Are you saying I type too much?!? (LOL) No doubt, I do. And yes, I am excited about my co-worker, too. She had her surgery today... Everybody think good thoughts. Kat - Hugs!! Hope you are doing well. Cindy - I would be the "mom" if I were around... I don't dye the hair or anything, either. :] But, it's kind of an NSV for you, huh? Oh - and you had better have a couple of bandaides on hand for your lunch - for when your friends' chins get scuffed on the floor. :] Sherry - Playing hooky, huh? Cool! Hope you feel better, too. Nothing worse than not being able to sleep at night. It's cool that your DH is going to make some efforts at better eating this year... mine says he is. After his difficulties in finding any clothes that fit, he might do it - especially if I am truly diligent, as I will have to be to make my goal. Good luck! And good luck finding snacks for your kid that you don't like. I know EXACTLY what you mean - I like everything, too! Jules - I have fudge at home, too. Don't remind me... and MARY made it - so it's probably like ambrosia. Maybe I will just give it away without tasting it... (yeah, like that is going to happen). Oh well. After Jan 1st - it's a big old boot in the butt for any remaining junk food. Anne - Hugs! Glad your back is feeling better. I don't suppose it would help to tell you the only way to keep your back in shape is to do abdominal work... sucks but it's true. Good luck with the going back to work, thing. Remember - cut your best deal going in. The future is nebulous. If they want you - make them give you what YOU want right up front. :] Well my dears - work is calling....in it's most whiney, grating, horrid voice... *sigh* I grow weary of being a loan whore. Maybe I won millions in the last 10 draws and I just don't know it yet... yeah, that's it. Millions..... Hugs and Love!

Marci - I am jealous of the TV! What a great gift! And your son. I hope my son turns out to be a young man like yours. Drews - I have the post Christmas blahs too. I normally take this week off work and I wasn't able to get it off this year. It sucks! We aren't doing anything fun for New Years either so I don't have anything fun to look forward too. You are rockin on the weightloss ever since you had your leaky port replaced! Good luck with giving up cigs. We will support you any way we can. Kim - Great NSV with the clothes! You are rockin your band too! I'll do a Valentines day Challenge as well. I want to hit 173ish by the "I have a Dream" on 1/15 so that will give me an extra 4 weeks. I will say 167ish by V-day. Hopefully that puts me on target to hit 140 by my dreaded 30th b-day on 5/21. I've got to get my butt back in gear with drinking Water and exercising. I have been horrible lately and need all the butt kicking from you guys I can get!

Karen AR-Thank you very much for the sites you provided. I haven't had a chance to do much "surfing" to find these types of sites since my surgery due to the hoopla of the holidays and all! KayDotRn-Thanks for the tip about the evaporated milk. I'm going to try that with my tomato soup today. Yum! Congrats to all on so many wonderful NSVs! Keep it up! I have found it very interesting to read about the wide variety of experiences that everyone has been going through--I've read postings from people in Australia, England, Ireland, Germany, the US, etc. It sounds like some folks were hardly given any information about what to eat after surgery and I feel SO badly when I read about them being so hungry or in so much pain when it doesn't have to be that way. I just want to reach through the screen to give them a big hug and tell them it'll be okay! I'm glad that these boards exist so all of us can share what we know in the hopes of helping out someone who's having a tough time. I realize now that I was truly blessed with an outstanding team of people at my surgery center who have kept me flying high (so far)! :plane: I feel very spoiled, indeed! By the way, my ex-husband, who drove me back and forth to have this weight-loss surgery a week ago, thought it would be okay to give me two boxes of cordial cherries because I could "nibble a hole in the chocolate and suck out the liquid filling." Sigh! :faint: Thought you'd all get a kick out of THAT one! Suffice to to say that both boxes have a hot date with a big old trash bin! Congratulations to everyone who has managed to fend off all of their well-meaning relatives who tried to derail your healthy eating plans over Christmas! You all have "bands of steel!" Now we just have to survive New Year's...

I hope you all had a Wonderful Christmas! I'm with you Drews.. back to work today and not happy about it! Wow everyone, we are doing sooo great!!! Good luck Drews on the testing, what an exciting process! Myra - congrats on the teeth! Duckie- sounds like you've raised a caring, generous young man, congrats! Oh, and congrats on the plasma too! Ous- You rock! Keep up the awesome work! Well..... I weighed 229 on Christmas Eve which puts me just below my Christmas goal of 230!! ANNND I now weigh less than both of my older brothers! I haven't weighed less than them since birth, literally!! I am so excited!!! Also, a couple of NSVs.. my brother bought me a coat for Christmas in a Extra Large, and it fit!!! I can zip it and everything!! Also, I did a little shopping for myself a couple of days before Christmas and I bought one of those cute little wrap style dresses in a size 16 ( in the Missy's Department)!!! I haven't worn a 16 since probably Junior high school! I haven't ventured outside the Plus Size or Womans World Department my entire adult life! It is a stretchy material, and I will need to lose about 20 lbs more to be comfortable with the way it looks, but I love it! It is brown with red and white stripes. I almost cried in the dressing room when I was able to wear it. Life is good! I love my band! I can't believe all the compliments that I received from family and freinds over the Christmas holiday! I'm even more inspired to reach my goal now!! So what is our next weight Challenge? I'm thinking about setting a goal for Valentines Day (a single girl like me's most despised "holiday"). That's it -15 lbs by Valentines day! That will put me around 215. Anyone else interested in a Valentines Day Challenge? Again, I hope everyone's Christmas was merry and please have a safe and Fun New Years eve!

BK - you are doing fine with what you are eating. I feel like its just a matter of healing. Sweethot - you and B-man too - the restriction is great while it lasts but now that the swelling has gone down the food is going on down too. I had a hard time with the liquids that last week, I felt like I was drinking something every hour and only felt "full" for a few minutes then it would pass on down. I've been eating almost exactly the same as all of you and I really don't think its too much. I had my doubts but then when I started comparing my plate this year to what it was like last MONTH - big difference. I'm sure we may all stall until we get our first fill but then we'll start losing again. I for one can't wait to get a fill! I liked the restriction that I had and will welcome it back - sad thing is I won't get a fill for about 3 weeks. Mypov - you go girl! I know how wonderful it feels to get a nsv! I have put on 2 shirts that had been too tight and now fit - its great! I've lost about 16 lbs and I really didn't think it would show but suprise! it does! I kept saying I'll probably have to lose 40 lbs before anyone notices but I've had several people comment that I look like I've lost. Keep up the good work and you'll be wearing an 8 before you know it!

    Christmas NSV

I had an NSV of sorts... went to my sisters for dinner. I had what to ME was a huge amount of food - a nearly full plate. I looked over at my Sister when she sat down and her plate was HEAPED with food - I mean stuff sliding off the plate full. I guess I had a pretty horrified expression - cause DS started justifying the food. I just laughed and said there was NO WAY I could eat that much. I couldn't even come close to finishing my nearly full plate. It just goes to show how our perceptions change. Last year I was right there with my Sis and that heaped plate. :]

Hey everybody! Sounds like everyone has dealt with the holidays very well. I'm soooo glad that's over with--- until new years lol but I'm actually looking forward to that becuase I'm going to set my official new years goals- and actually have some hope of attaining them this time!!! I'm not very hungry right now, luckily. I was having powerful cravings days 3-6 but they seem to be much more under control now. Also i was having major pain in my side- but I've decided it's port pain and its fading now. I finally slept on my bed instead of the recliner last night....it was like coming HOME lol. Oh I want to report my FIRST NSV (non-scale victory). Today I pulled on my size 28 lane bryant jeans and zipped and buttoned them!!!!! before I was leaving it unbuttoned and then tucking the little flaps in to give me a lil breathing room. I know its small, but I was excited!!!

    Christmas NSV

My hubby got me some clothes this year for Christmas. I told him to get me size 12 in pants so I had something to try to get into. Well sure enough I open up some size 12 jeans so I tell him....I will hopefully be able to get into these next month. Well just for fun I decide to try them on and my big butt actually fit into the size 12 jeans! Wow! I never thought I'd see a size 12 again and it crept up on me. It was the best feeling ever!

Merry Christmas Bandsters - I hope you all had a great one. We had an awesome day yesterday. My son was so much fun this year (he's 19 months old). I also had a really cool NSV - hubby bought me some size 12 jeans and I can wear them already! If I could do cartwheels I would have been doing them!:banana

    Christmas NSV

Every year at Christmas just like everyone else we have the same things. Tonight after not eating anything all day except for ceral I went to my Mom and Dad's for our annual Christmas Eve dinner. There was Turkey, dressing, ham, sweet potatoes, corn, mashed potatoes, vegall casserole, mac and cheese, greenbeans, slaw, hasbrown casserole, pies, cakes, puddings, salads, everything, and since this is my first Christmas with my band this is what I ate: 1 small piece of ham 1 bite of vegall casserole 1/2 piece of chocolate pie I could have never done this before but just wasn't hungry. I thank God for my band.
  24. I wanted to share a few NSVs and some Disneyland eating tips. First of all, I ordered the cutest jeans for our trip to Disneyland (we go a LOT) on Disney Shopping and they were a size 12 ( I usually wear a 12 and size L these days). Washed them a brought them on the trip, and I was just swimming in them!! So I came home and most of my 12s and ALL of my 14s and up are going to the battered women's shelter in the next town. WOOHOO!! 2. I am a Sales Account Executive for a Mortgage Company. I have a young (well maybe not too young but at least 5 years younger than me), really cute loan officer that is one of my customers. I have noticed that even though he has been in the business for a long time he calls me, often with kind of a dumb question, every day. He finally said to me when I visited him the other day "I know you are married, but the real reason I call you so often is because I have a bit of a crush on you. You're gorgeous." I have not had anyone flirt with me like that since I met my husband! 3. When I went to Disneyland a few weeks ago, my five year old nephew said to me, "Aunt Heather you still have pretty big bubbas (boobs), but your butt is a lot smaller than before!" OUT OF THE MOUTHS OF BABES. Anyway, if you are at Disneyland and trying not to cheat, and you don't want to spend oodles of money, the best places in the park to eat are: Bengal Barbecue in Adventureland. Basically delicious grilled lean meat on a stick. Also in Adventureland if you want a treat Dole pineapple has a "whip" which is like pineapple sherbert. Just as delicious as ice cream with a lot less fat, sugar and calories. pizza Port in Tomorrowland has an excellent salad. Plaza Cafe off of Main Street has some good salads and lean pot roast. The New Orleans Cafe has lots of healthy selections. I ordered French Onion Soup in there with no cheese and the waitress looked at me like I was crazy, but it was still delicious! But if you are not brave, beware. They have a 3 cheese Monte Christo that looks like a heart attack on a plate. Of course my hubby had to have one and I almost had to go sit at a different table. They also have a lot of healthy snack stands now, which is great!!! You can buy fruit (they have big pineapple spears that taste like candy), a giant pickle, a veggie snack pack, or trail mix. For Breakfast if you are in any of the Disney hotels you can get really good yogurt and oatmeal. If you want to splurge, get a sausage or ham slice for some yummy Protein (just don't make a habit of it :-) In downtown Disney for the best selection of healthy Entrees try Rainforest Cafe or Catal (very pricey but good!)! Of course remember, if you are ever going to have a little cheat, that is a good time to do it because you are likely walking several miles a day. I lose weight every time we go! And I know that this post sounds a little like I am still food obsessed, but I am not. I am Disneyland obsessed, though :nervous
