although I should be embarrassed to admit this... I was carrying the twins down to their room today and I had one in each arm...and I DID NOT have to turn sideways to get through the door. All three of us fit through the door!!:biggrin:It was really exciting...and made up for the fact that they were being SOOOO ANNOYING! Also, at the gym today, the lady in childcare asked me if I was losing weight...she said that I look like an entirely different person:biggrin:...but the crazy thing is, I've only been there since 20 lbs ago...and there are still people I've known forever who haven't said anything...go figure! Anyway...just wanted to share because it felt amazing. When I was pregnant with the twins, I was as wide (front to back ) as the width of the door. CRAZY! :tt2: Rain

Great job, that's truly a NSV for most people. I also hate the limp chairs that seem as if there made out of old driftewood that some restaurants use. I'm always afraid its just gonna shatter underneath me but not anymore! -

Wow, can't believe the "dirt" comment. I mean, really? My dermatologist told me that if it bothered me so much, that I should lose weight and poof, it'll go away. Can't wait for that NSV when my inner thighs match my legs! Lol

CONGRATS! I love these NSV! Today I put on a bra I haven't warn for 2 weeks and low and behold, it was tooooo big! I kept looking at how weird the cups looked. Wowwwwww. This really is a process. Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy to all of us VSG! We rock! -
That's AWESOME! On all fronts! I don't believe you are 50, or 49 7/8 for that matter, either. I think your avatar looks incredibly young and glamorous and did not believe your build up to 50 for even a minute. Must be a rouse, I thought - you must have just turned 40...and you wanted support as you regressed through the decade. Yay for 180 and NSV's!!!

24lbs is great! The energy will come back just takes a little time, its good to hear that you are happy with the rest of your recovery an nice to see a fellow ABQ sleever on here! I am coming along well I think lol. I have been dealing with some stall issues but that's normal. I am down 41lbs since surgery and 61 overall. The NSV are the best though clothes don't fit anymore an I'm wearing sizes I never would have imagined 6 months ago. Fixing to get into the gym in the next week or so hopefully so I can drop the rest an mainly tone up. Still lots of work to do but I'm looking forward to it now!

I dunno where all this energy came from, but ...

Parvanthi, Great NSV!!!! you go girl. Was your husband impressed with the fruits of your labor?? 4 hours, you must have burned some serios calories! Enjoy the garden. -
Make sure all of you US self-payers, bring in all of your medical bills when processing your taxes this year. I am actually getting a nice refund and although I have other things that are contributing to that, my accountant said that it was definately a good thing to have all of those expenses factored in. Love my band - have a good weekend!

Now THAT's a NSV if ever there was one! Good for you!

That's a wonderful NSV!! Lucky man -
It happened yesterday as I was leaving the house, my 7 yr old granddaughter said, "Wow Nana! You're getting skinny!". I stopped dead in my tracks and was speechless. I, think I went into shock! Well, I finally said thank you, with a smile. I confess, I wanted to cry! Although, my clothes are getting really loose and I've seen some physical changes, some part of me is not seeing or accepting! But, babygirl's compliment broke through and hit home! Yeah me!!! So glad, I started taking care of me and got my sleeve!!! This is only the beginning:)

WOW! I have survived another shift at the hospital. Chocolates, Cookies, cakes, etc everywhere! In between rounds I sit in the lounge with collegues and the table in front of me is FULL, I mean FULL of all kinds of goodies I would have gone for last year. :faint: :clap2: This time...hmmmm I guess it is an NSV I sat there several times a day and did NOT have anything!! I went to the fridge and had only the food I brought to eat that day, plus a light yogurt! I am sure I am not the only one with this experience... how have you handled it? Tiny tastes? big bites? nothing at all? Xmas with my family I will try little tastes of everything.

Please tell us about your favorite, newest, or most memorable non-scale victory! We have many little victories in the war on obesity and I think it is important to recognize as many of them as we can to sustain us when we get in a rut. That's where I am, stuck in a rut! I am trying to remember some of my NSVs to sustain me trough this, but it sure helps to hear from you guys too. Often times I can read them and go "Oh yeah, I can do that now too!". It really does help me and hopefully it will help others too. So let's hear them!

Happiness Is.......
Miss Mac replied to 2ndchanceadict's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What made me happy today was that I went in for a nutrition appointment and came out with a tentative date for my surgery....December 18. So, there is light at the end of my tunnel. One endoscopy, two appts., two weeks of liver shrink and ta da...losers bench. I am so excited. I never thought about the towel thing. I have those big giant bath sheets, too, because regular towels don't get the job done. I will be looking for that as a NSV! -
GREAT nsv's, everyone!! I am only two weeks out but my nsv is that I already feel more energetic!

So I'm sitting here on the couch watching the Saturday morning news (Living the dream, I know)... I thought I'd check in here, so I reached over and grabbed the laptop... Opened it, signed in and have been sitting here checking you all out and commenting in my usual inimitable style... All of a sudden, I realize that I've been sitting here for half an hour with the laptop actually in my lap.. MY LAP??? When did I get A LAP?? Oh yeah!!! Listen up b*tches - NSV or not, I HAVE A LAP!!! Anyway, that's all... Go back to your... Whatever y'all are doing at this time of day/night... I'm going out for a LAP DANCE!!! -

Starting weight 268, surgery weight 250 started size tight 24. Current weight 182. 5'4". NSV...size 14 not women's store. First real purchase! (Not from second hand store or hand me down) Total weight gone today...85 pounds. I did not lose it, I let it go and I don't want it back ever again. 32 pounds away from my first goal of 150!

I just got new panties in the mail today! This is a BIG NSV for me, since before I went into maintenance mode I just bought plain, cheap ones as I shrank. But now that I'm right where I want to be, I got some really cute ones! Also got two nice new bras, and a bikini that I look dang hot in! I've never been the materialistic or superficial type, but just this once I'm enjoying having some nice (SMALL!) things to wear that I look good in! Yet again my band journey has amazed me...
