    Workout Playlist...

I love that you have taken the time to put this list up! All the music is great stuff. I play break music for my bf's country band so I try to keep people dancing if they want to while the band grabs a break. I like country and radio pop when it is just me. When I play for the band I do a little different since the band plays country. Moves Like Jagger - Maroon 5 Sexy & I Know It - LMFAO S & M - Rihannna Wild Ones - Flo Rida Back In Time - Pitbull Payphone - Maroon 5 Want You Back - Cher Lloyd Blow Me (one last kiss) - Pink Everybody Talks - Neon Trees Good Time - Owl City & Carly Rae Jepsen Just Dance - Lady Gaga Poker Face - Lady Gaga Pumped Up Kicks - Foster The People Party Rock Anthem -LMFAO Super Bass - Nicki Minaj Price Tag - Jessie J Gangnam Style - PSY Whistle - Flo Rida 50 Ways To Say Goodbye -Train Cruise - Florida Georgia Line Live While We're Young - One Direction Some Nights -Fun. One More Night - Maroon 5 Grease Mega Mix - Olivia Newton John I have been ill so I have not up dated it in a few weeks. Hope maybe you will find something new in my list. Girls are always sweating when the night is over. Most don't even know the great workout they have just gotten. LOL
  3. Hey everyone I had my surgery a week ago and I feel fantastic. I am eating drinking and feel good. Only thing I noticed yesterday and today is only 2 times after I went pee I would have a very light blood on the tissue. It is very very light had to really look to see it. I had a hysterectomy years ago and was just wondering if anyone else has ever seen this thanks so much
  4. I haven't lost any weight since August. I wasn't able to hold down hardly any food, but wasn't losing. I went in last week and they said the reason I wasn't losing I was too tight. They let out 1cc. I have already gained 5 pounds. Is this normal? Will the weight come off? I am eating healthy, but my body hasn't had food in awhile. I am almost at my year mark and am still 30 pounds from where I want to be. They kept saying I've done great. I've lost 65 pounds, but have lost more and faster on medifast 3 years ago of course that came back as soon as I stopped. I am still paying $300 a month for my band and I'm not happy.
  5. Just wanted to share that tonight was one of those nights that I was really glad to be banded! Me and some friends went to watch the UFC fights and usually I eat and eat through the whole 4 hours. Shrimp, fries, chips, wings, dessert... I usually end up so overstuffed it hurts!! Well, tonight was the first UFC I'd gone out to after being banded, and I could hardly eat anything! I really enjoyed it! I munched at the appetizers, just like everyone else at the table, I wasn't scarfing them down and then ordering more! I feel so good to not be controlled by food anymore! I also know that I did not set myself back a week on my weight loss! Yes, maybe a day because of the fried food, but that's do-able! Anyway, just wanted to share...

    Not wanting to eat

I have to add a lot of variety to my menu because I got so burned out on so many foods during my recovery. I have had to get pretty creative in the kitchen, and what I found that helped me the most was hitting up recipe sites for ideas. I am literally addicted to recipe sites. I have 3 recipe apps on my Iphone, I hit them up on the web, I have been making a new recipe at least 3 -4 times a week. Luckily, the husband and kiddo are not picky because some of the stuff I've made is definitely out of our "norm". I still have some days that I absolutely hate eating because I'm still not feeling any hunger. So, I feel like I'm force feeding myself which is the complete opposite of my pre-op lifestyle. If you like to cook, I recommend these recipe sites because they are really great, and the reviews are very helpful with substitution options to make the recipes more healthy. www.allrecipes.com www.bigoven.com www.recipezaar.com Those are my top three sites that I frequent daily. Sometimes I'll hit up food Network - Easy Recipes, Healthy Eating Ideas and Chef Recipe Videos : Food Network if I want something a little extravagant/elegant. That's the only solution I've found helpful. It does take more effort now that it did before, and it does get frustrating. I hope you are able to find something that will help you.
  8. I wish! My surgeon's nut said 5 weeks.
  9. I had my surgery September 26th and on the 4th week post surgery I started going to the gym and would walk fast on the treadmill for 45 minutes. I wouldn't feel exhausted or overworked so I just kept doing that being that my doctor didn't want me doing anything else other than walking. Tomorrow I will be 6 weeks post surgery and I really want a five day workout routine that involves the perfect amount of cardio and weightlifting, but I don't know what to do. Someone please help me. Thanks in advance.

    Post op day one

<p>Hi! I finally had it done! After a year of contemplating and YEARS of trying other diets, I was banded yesterday. The worst part was the general anesthesia. The pain is not too horrible. I'm on clears for today, then I can add a protein drink a day until Saturday...then it's 2 weeks of thin purees. YUM. I am so psyched about this that I feel like I'll do whatever it takes. I hope I can keep up the enthusiasm!
  11. Has anyone experienced this or heard of it? 2 weeks post-op When i lay down regardless off time of day/evening, and regardless of what time i last ate, i begin experiencing tightness in chest followed by burning sensation in neck and eardrums, then massive headace and finnaly urge to purge...as soon as i sit up everthing goes back to normal. But i can only sleep propped up or in a chair. Any thoughts?

    Benefiber question

I don't use BENEFIBER but I use METAMUCIL and I take it at night. I'm 3 and 1/2 years out and I have been trying not to use anything to make me go, but it is getting about time to start.

    Still feeling nauseous

Two years out & yep I do. Probably more I want to lie down versus nausea now often coupled with my restriction kicking in. It can happen when I go out to eat & eat a little too quickly or if I’m not fully hydrated. Sometimes it’s when what I’m eating isn’t sitting well. Had lunch with a fellow sleever this week & after lunch we both groaned & said I need to lie down. Quite funny actually. We both had an all day keto breakfast. I had some bacon for the first time in ages & I think it set me off. She said the last bite did her in.
  15. I will be spending the next week in London at the Holiday Inn Mayfair. I am 10 weeks post-op so I can eat almost anything, but I have managed to become a bit lactose intolerant so I have had to give up on most Protein shakes and rely upon real food. (Protein shakes were difficult to travel with anyway). I could use some tips on local sources of Protein that I can pick up while I am in town. Are there any brands of Jerky, greek yogurt, or other foods I should look for? I am also interested in restaurants and such as sushi bars, tapas, and such where I can get some good protein without too much fuss. Finally I would appreciate ny tips you might have about eating local fare (pubs, curries, etc). Thanks in advance....
  16. I started talking my vitamins about a week ago which includes iron, vitamin d and b-12 shots. This entire journey I've felt tired and worn out and now that I have returned to work by 5 all I want to do is crawl in bed and sleep. Anyone else dealing with this and are there any other suggestions?

    Helpful Hints for Success???

Drink your Water, eat Protein first, and exercise when you are able to. Exercise makes you burn more calories all the time, so I feel it has helped me the most with success. Also, keep in mind that we all go through stalls here and there. If you follow the rules, you will get to your goals. The sleeve is an amazing tool. Congrats on your big day!!! PS: The sleeve actually works! You will be amazed how much better it is than the band.

Getting sleeved January 9th and feeling blue

Girl, I can totally relate to what you are going through. I made those same judgements about myself. My surgery is two weeks away and even though I am calm about it now, I feel as if I'm going to breakdown right before. Then I realized that forgiving yourself is the only way to move on with this process. Even to this day I think about I dont need to do this and blah blah blah, I am doing this because I want something better for myself. You are thinking the sameway or you wouldn't be going through this. This is not something we "did" to ourselves, it happened and being the strong woman are taking it on head strong by having this surgery. If you wern't strong, you'd be in denial and not having the surgery. In the end you have to do what makes YOU happy and health despite what are parents think.
  21. If you want to know if what you are gaining is fat, remember that if you consume 3,500 calories more than you burn, then you can gain a pound, burn 3,500 more than you consume, you lose a pound. Generalizing an immobile person's resting metabolic rate at 2,000 calories, what you have to ask yourself is did you consume more calories than you burned? In 2 days, did you consume 6 x 3,500 = 21,000 + 4,000 (BMR) = 25,000 calories in two days? 4 months post op, I highly doubt it. I am close to 3 years post op and I cannot consume that much. So, this tells us your gain is attributed to something else. My vote is swelling and Water retention.
  22. I can hardly believe it, but here I am about 7 1/2 weeks from my surgery on July 13th and I am just about half way to my goal of losing 125 lbs. Overall, it has been a relatively smooth journey, although there have been some difficult moments along the way. Last week, I took my kids on vacation and it was a real challenge to figure out what I could eat and timing it correctly. The trip involved driving about 2000 miles round trip, so eating on the road proved to be a bit of a challenge also. I think the biggest challenge for me has been dealing with the emotional aspects of not eating all the things I want to when I want to. Although I understand intellectually that this is how I ended up here in the first place (duh?), I don't think I had realized how much of a "friend" food had become in my life and how much I would miss it. This has probably been even more true since my wife died and I've had to cope with all of those emotional issues. So, in some ways, giving up my old eating habits has been another loss with which I have had to deal and that has been a little harder to cope with than I expected. The good news is that everyday someone new notices that I've lost weight and tells me that I look great and I feel terrific about that. I need to be better about monitoring my Protein intake and taking my Vitamins, but I am working on that too. If there is someone out there reading this, looking for guidance as to whether or not to have the VSG, I would unequivocally say "Go for it!" Peace, Brian

Would be interested in progress pictures?

Judging by the lack of responses, I thought I might give this a little bump. A few words of explanation. I am not a professional photographer at this point, but I am learning and wondered if this might be a worthwhile option. I'm planning on having lapband myself soon, my paperwork just went to the insurance this week. So I have a much different view of a person with lapband than someone that doesn't. Thanks for any input. Glen
