They were not my normal size they were a size down from that and they fit perfect even with a bit of room! I was so excited. So the bad was that I was putting on said jeans yo be tested for the flu. And of course I have the flu and am starting tamilu .one. day. all. The. Things. Will. go.right. I seriously want to hit the gym now. But I feel like I've been hit with a truck full of bricks. I want normalcy.lol Sent from my SM-J727T1 using BariatricPal mobile app

numbers

I'm one of those folks who reminds people that we are more than numbers and to focus on NSVs during our weight loss journey. But even I am speechless this morning. I weigh myself weekly just to stay accountable. Yes...I know when I've eaten well and when I've not, but the number on the scale reinforces what I already know. Since I don't let the number rule my outlook for the day, or even the week, I am OK with the weekly weigh-in. Well...got on the scale this morning and it said 119.2. I had to look at it for a few moments because I couldn't take in what I was seeing. I'm under 120 lbs. That's unbelievable. The very first time I went to WW, I was 15 and 127 lbs. I got down to 113. I was 125 lbs. when I got married and have never been close in all the years since. Oh...I got down to 150 in the early '90s but of course ballooned back up again. Yes...I know it's just a number but it's also a watershed moment for me. I've accomplished something I never thought I would. I'm as small as I was as a teenager. I'm not a teenager though... My skin is terribly wrinkled and I only look good with my clothes on and in long sleeves and pantyhose. I hide the flaws same as anyone would. But...I'm alot smarter than a teenager now and feel that I'm mature enough to make good choices in my life and find future success in ways I thought impossible just two years ago. If all goes as planned, I will be visiting my sister-in-law in China over Christmas. Imagine that...me going to the Far East. Was a time I couldn't hardly walk and now I'm going to the other side of the world. I'm dating again. It's scary for sure, but I'm starting to get comfortable enough with my body that I can appreciate what others see. Not always mind you, but sometimes... It's still a work in progress. Mostly I'm just grateful and happy to be mobile, healthy, and appreciate my life. I give all the credit to the band because that's where it started. Have a great Monday everyone.
8. That is a great NSV! I too hate taking pictures and can't wait to feel comfortable again doing that. Congrats!
9. My grandkids got dropped off early this morning. I still had my nightshirt on and was fixing them breakfast, when my 6 yr old granddaughter said, "Nana, your legs are getting skinny". I thought wow, if a 6 yr old would notice that's pretty good. I was on cloud nine. Of course it was short lived. Later we went swimming and when we were done and got back in the house, I took off her bathing suit, wrapped a towel around her and tucked it in. Then I took off my suit, wrapped a towel around me (as far as it would go), when she looked up and said "no towels big enough huh?! God love her, LOL.

NSV

Me too! My daughter is 4'10", she has the carseat way close to reach the pedals. Yesterday, I climbed into her car, and was totally comfortable at the position it was in. I, also, noticed that when I drive, my seat is way forward, now. I used to have it the same place as my husband. Now, he hates when I drive, because he has to move it back! Congrats to everyone on their NSV's. Karen

NSV!

I had a very emotional non scale victory this weekend. It was a year ago this week that I took my 3 little ones to the Wisconsin dells for spring break, I remember being so embarrassed that I couldn't fit into the tube on the lazy river. I had to hold onto Tue outside of the tube. This past weekend and almost 4 months out from my surgery, I took my children to an indoor waterpark, I was astonished to see how easily the tube slid right over me, I literally started tearing up. Not only that but I went down the waterslides with my children multiple times. It definently paid off because I lost another 2 pounds just over the weekend for a total loss of 72 pounds. I thank god every day for this opportunity to start a new life. hw--295
sw--278
dos-- 12/12/12
cw-- 225

Three NSV's and One Thorn In My Side

iknow of two online stores in which you might find what you want in exercise clothing. women within and roamans. congrat's on all of your nsv. nice job. tell hubby good going.
19. I had three great NSV's today! The first: I was on second call and I generally never get called in but I did get called in around ten am today. I ran downstairs to get dressed and tried to decide what to throw on. I saw some old scrubs that I had recently gotten out of storage. I haven't fit in them for like four years. I put them on, expecting them to fit very snug like they did before I outgrew them, but they were actually loose and very comfy! Woot! The second: As some of you may know, my hubby, though he did not get a lapband, has changed his diet and started exercising along with me. He had lost a little bit before I got banded and so far has lost about 50 pounds. Today, I bought him 2 pairs of exercise shorts and 2 exercise shirts from the clearance rack at Macy's. So awesome that he fits in the normal guy section of clothes! Even more awesome, the total was $34! He used to have to go to the Big and Tall store where each item would have been $40! This is kinda his NSV, but since I like to buy him clothes every now and then, it's an NSV for my wallet too! The third: I was always such a slave to food convienience. Fast food. Carry out. I have really been cooking so much more! I noticed that the amount of groceries I buy for the two of us is so much less. Today, I did our weekly grocery shop with one of the small carts. Healthy food is sometimes more expensive, but when you're eating a lot less of it.....Plus, I still am not spending as much as I did on all of the convienient stuff. And then here's the thorn in my side: What is up? Does no one think that fat people want to exercise? I find it close to impossible to find women's plus size exercise clothing!! I live in fairly large city. This is ridiculous. It makes me angry. D**k's (the website censored this word, but it is the name of a sporting goods store) apparently only thinks skinny people are exercising. Lane Bryant might have a couple of jogging suits, but they're all hussied up with doily crap. They had some sort of track suit thing at macy's but it was not attractive. Target didn't have anything. WalMart's stuff was borderline Grandma lookin. Plus, I'm tall. I need length. As soon as I wash something, the legs draw up. I'm not crazy about online shopping because I'm so picky about the way things look on me, but I guess I'm going to have to try. Does anyone have any suggestions? I really want a pair of snug fitting, yoga type pants, black, that I could walk/run on the treadmill in. And I carry all of my weight on my tummy, so I'm still wearing like a 24 or a 3x. I might be very close to a 22 or 2x. Even, if I can find pants, it's hard to find sports bras, tight tanks to help hold the ladies down, and some sort of sporty sleeveless shirt to go over it all. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

I cried at 22

Congrats! What a great NSV! I remember after my best friend had Gastric Bypass surgery when she was down quite a bit of weight and we were out to get her some new clothes (she had some "hand-me-down's" from a cousin who had gastric a while before her that she was using in the interim) and this was one of our first shopping trips. As we were in the various stores she'd find something she liked and grab a size then I would take it away from her and replace it with the same thing but at least 2 sizes smaller. She was ADAMENT that they would NOT fit. And along the way to the change room I would pick up the occasional thing and she would tell me "it's not gonna fit!" - I would tell her - "shut up and try the damn clothes on".... Low and behold they fit and of course they looked great. She couldn't believe it. It took her a couple of years to be able to look at an item of clothing and know it would fit without thinking it was too small, she still occasionally has the odd moment where she relapses back. Grats to you, I can't wait until I have my first NSV like that

Unexpected NSV

Not a silly NSV at all StLouisGal! It's the little things like this that let us know how far we've come, and how hard we've worked. I've felt this NSV recently myself when I had my yearly mammogram. It was a nice feeling when that regular sized gown fit! :frown: Glad to hear you are feeling better too!
24. Congratulations! I love NSVs, and I too find that I smile much more than I did before surgery.

NSV...

Went to pick my daughter up from Plague Vector School (daycare), where they've recently hired a new front desk lady and I haven't seen the school director in a while.... School director was walking out as I walked in, did a double take, and was all "oh my god LOOK AT YOU!!!" I know my shape is changing and I don't feel so squeezed into my clothes... I guess it shows too.
