  2. sexxy219 awwwwww.......... chin up hun you are doing fine congrats on your 3 month weight loss!!!! 71 lbs down so far is great' date=' really!!!!! loosing 10 lbs in a month??? no prob here wish you had a ticker and a profile (hint, hint )so i could see how much more weight you need to lose if you don't have much more to lose you might slow down a bit with your loss - but thats ok kicking up the energy a bit, exercising more is always good - but i wouldn't kick up the lbs some people do that if they have been in a long stall - to "wake" up their system but your system might be "resting" a bit - don't startle it now!!! you'll reach your destination - promise!!! GOD grant me patience, just hurry up about it [/quote'] Yea I just pray I do not have a long stall!!! I'm not gonna claim it!!! I think my body is just adjusting.

    recovery and pain factor

I had a band for 6 years and just had the sleeve done, well 10 weeks ago. Honestly I thought the band was worse than the sleeve. I could constantly feel where the band was and it hurt. When I had the sleeve I wasn't in much pain and couldn't tell I had anything done at all. The only pain was on my right side where the drain was, other than that I was fine. You can't eat as soon after the sleeve as you can with the band, but you will get through it. I think the first 3 weeks are the hardest. Good Luck

I know I'm a few days late replying to this topic , but I just wanted to share my store with you. My whole life I was over weight. At 13 I finally got my period, but I knew something wasn't right because I got it once and it didn't come back for months. when I finally went to the gyno I was referred to a reproductive endocrinologist to find out i had PCOS. I did a few years of hormones and birth control to try and control it but it made me feel out of my mind (basically a maniac 24/7). I had to have a few surgeries due to growths inside of my uterus. And still till this day I don't get my period for months at a time. But ultimately I was told if I didn't lose weight I wouldn't be able to conceive naturally. Which no girl at all wants to hear. So at 19 I finally decided to get the lap band done. my starting weight being 305 getting down to 220. this making my body magically work and me getting pregnant only 6 months after getting the surgery. It wasn't planned but I was so excited. Now fast forward 2 years . I'm at my heaviest I've ever been 315 and my PCOS is deff worse. So I decided to get the sleeve done in June. I'm getting married in a year and I want to have another baby a few months after that. If I were to try it now it wouldn't happen so I'm using that as my biggest motivation!!! Stay positive and don't give up!
  6. I had Ulcerative colitis back in the day and had a complete large intestine removal 17 years ago. Therefore, I go to the bathroom on average 8-10 times a day. I had surgery on 6/26/2017 and didn't have a BM for 2 days. I was advised to take benefiber (which is awesome because it dissolves completely and you can't even taste it) and that helped. You can imagine that going from 8-10 times a day, every day for 17 years, to 0 for two days made me very scared. However, the GI tract just needs some time to chill out. I hope yours gets moving soon too.
  7. Yes I know all about stalls but I would live some positive thoughts to clear my mind. I want to know what u all think too. My SW was 250 day of surgery I was 241 and today I'm stalling btw 218-220 it keeps bouncing. Am I doing well on my weight loss? I'm 7 weeks out today and would love to hear to opinions. I'm eating 600-700 if I'm lucky in calories daily. I walk the treadmill for 45-60 min at a 7.5 incline and/ or do the elliptical for the same amount of time (4-5 days a week) I work six days a week on top of that and constantly on my feet 45-50 hours in a restaurant. Thanks everyone. And please I'm not complaining, just would love to hear positive thoughts because I really just want to be around 210 already so kinda bummed me out. And yes I'm following the rules. I get 60-70 protein a day and drink 10-12 cups of water/fluid, keep my carbs at 30 or less and 20-30 fats (40 according to my doctor but I'm being tough on self)

    Day 4

I've been slowly getting better the pain has subsided and now I'm just a little uncomfortable . I had a moment of truth since I couldn't sleep and questioned why I did this then stood on the scale and realized I'm already down 10 lbs... I guess this is a sacrifice that I am willing to take I can't wait until my body starts to feel normal again any-who best of luck to everyone who is a post op this is a challenge both mentally and physically and we can do it !
  11. Sounds like a lot of malingering to me. My operation was at 730 AM March 31. I felt great that afternoon with just some tightness around the incisions. Day after, the only pain was a little around the big incision when turning in certain positions. Never used any painkiller. Out of the hospital day after surgery. Went to work for a couple of hours that afternoon. Two days after surgery, I went back to work full time and have not regretted it for one second. BTW, I started driving two days after surgery. All tenderness at the big incision area was gone in 6 days and it never was a problem anyway. The surgeon said I did so well that he suggested pureed foods after 10 days and regular foods 7 days after that, carefully with experimentation. If you would get out and do something instead of laying around, you probably would feel better.
  12. 10 days. Severe nausea caused dry heaving. Ripped sutures. Had second surgery next day to repair. Horrible experience.

    Calm me down! Now!

I know just how you feel. I was banded 8/15/07 and have very little restriction. I had a fill 4 weeks ago and go again 10/25/07. I can hardly wait. I know I eat too much, but keep doing it. What is wrong here? I want to loose the weight so bad, but some times just fall off the wagon. I don't eat until I am sick or anything, but I know I eat too much. Please get that candy out of your house!!! If it was in my house I could not sleep untill eating it. Like Wheetsin said have a small piece, because if you are like me once I start obsessing about something (food) if I don't distract myself or eat a small amount of what ever it is more than likely I will over eat. I know how hard it is I live it every day. Please hang in there. JP:)
  14. 14 months ago I embarked on an incredible journey. I have struggled with severe depression since my early teens and, like most, I took to eating as a coping mechanism. Throughout the years I have tried many diets. All of which were soon abandoned within the first couple of weeks. Towards the end of 2009 I had an injury and knew exactly what the cause was. The gavel in my mind slammed down. It was time to make a change and change for good, even if that meant taking drastic measures. I had always been against any form of weight loss surgery. Thinking, "Why can’t you just lose weight like everyone else on a normal diet?" I finally caught myself in a huge pit of denial. After much research and consoling with my family; I decided to opt for laparoscopic banding. I knew that if I was to be paying for something this drastic, I would do it right and stick with it no matter what. On 8/9/10 my 10 day pre-op liquid diet began, and my weight was 435 pounds! My surgery took place on 8/19/10, with no complications. I remained on my liquid diet for a total of 28 days. After that I was slowly re-introduced to foods. Having cut out all fried food, fast food, and sweets (I have had NO FORM of rice, bread, or Pasta since beginning). I now love my new diet. Fresh and healthy is a lifestyle I have learned to love. Sure, someday I will enjoy what I cut out from my diet, but I will be way smarter and more health-conscious when doing so. After losing a hefty amount of weight, I was ready to hit the gym! I started a membership in January 2011, and have been dedicated to going at least 4 times a week since. Through the months, as the weight has been melting off, I begin to feel superhuman! Things I have not been able to do since my early teens, I now enjoy and love doing! I will stay true and dedicated to this lifestyle, even after my goal is met. Thank you everyone for your support and love. Life is good. Oh, by the way, I have gone from 435lbs to 244lbs. A loss of 191lbs, as of 10/22/11. Before: After(pic is a couple weeks old):
  15. I havn't seen much on this, I'm wondering if anyone was given orders on what not to lift or how much for how long after surgery. I have a 10 month old baby at home so I'm wondering how long I will need help with him. He weighs about 20lbs.

    Who loves their band?

I love mine, too! I was banded 10/23/08, and it's been pretty much smooth sailing so far! Yes, I get stuck here and there . . and have the occasional PB. But that's a small price to pay for being 40 lbs down, having a steady, healthy rate of loss, and knowing that I'm going to be able to get to goal and keep it off. I posted earlier on your b-day challenge! Looking forward to keeping up with you on this road! Best, Catherine
  17. Ughhhhh I'm so tired of broth!!!! I really wish I could have a protein shake and I really don't like them but I want one just cause I can't have it...OMG 19 more days left of clear liquids and I don't think I'll make it!!!!! Helpppppppp!!!!!!!!

Wowzer, if you want a Snickers that bad, eat a Snickers. It's not going to make you gain 10 pounds, and if this is the result of your craving, it's better (IMO) to eat a Snickers and be done with it, than get to the point where you're obsessing about it (sounds like you're there now)... because that's when you eat 10 Snickers.

    How many do you have?

Onmywaytoslimville, Thanks for sharing a part of your story in this thread. Like you, I have set small goals to accomplish on this weight loss journey. I started out at 213 lbs, so my first goal was to enter onderland again...so I celebrated 199 lbs. I am currently 188 lbs., and my next goal is 180 lbs. and I plan to set goals in chunks of ten pounds until I reach my ultimate goal of 150 lbs. The smallest I have been in the last 10 or so years is 158 lbs., so I definitely look forward to losing some virgin fat. Good luck everyone and KUTGW...because we're worth it!

Spouse not on board with WLS

I believe that the "just eat less and move more" approach has like a 95% failure rate when it comes to anything more than about 20 lb. but sleeve surgery fails less than 10% of the time, or something like that. You can google stats. You are the one who lives in your body. Good luck.

    Hey hey Hey!

oh girl! You are getting worked up over nothing. I had my band 10-19-2007, and I just had my gall bladder out last month. The band was a little more difficult pain wise, as I had a lot of retained air inside. But in terms of difficulty and life threatening mistakes, this is a no brainer surgery. From start to finish, 45 minutes. There isn't a whole lot of detailed skilled required, like a neurosurgery or something. You'll wake up, and you WILL! You'll feel like you did too many sit-ups at the gym, and you'll be moving slowly for a few days. You WILL NOT DIE! Do you have chronic heart of lung issues that your concerned about? Severe reactions to anesthesia? If not, you're going to be fine, and be one hot looking babe in a couple years !
  25. crzytchr

    Hey hey Hey!

I too, was very afraid of dying during surgery. I had never had surgery before. I really was terrified. It was almost morbid the preoccupation I had with dying the week prior to my surgery. Well, surgery was 10 weeks ago and I am happy to announce that, I AM ALIVE! It was a breeze. It doesn't last long, so you aren't even under the anesthesia that long. You will do fine.
