I have been using genepro a full serving is 30g of protein or something like that. Its flavorless and odorless. You have to get it on amazon though. It will come in handy when you start your pureed stage. It helps expand the variety of food you can eat.

@@Lemon109 - so glad you had a good appointment with your Dietician yesterday! Premier Protein is concentrate.. I haven't tried any of the BS shakes yet. Yeah Benefiber is a must. I was going to check if I can continue my fiber gummies after surgery because I have diverticulosis and don't want to get constipated and trigger a diverticulitis episode, those are painful. Ever since I started on the fiber gummies, I haven't had any problems. How do you prepare your shakes? I wonder if the foam taste is the mixing process? Thanks for sharing the Bariatric fusion. I will have to check those out. I love the calcium citrate chews from Celebrate and BA, they are yummy! , however I might try the cinnamon you mentioned just to have a variety I plan on buying the unjury unflavored and also GENEPRO unflavored protein to mix with food. I hear they are both good. -
Bypass RNY, Phase one! Liquid diet?
Dream4tc replied to RGraham87's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
1.Premier Protein is cheap and tastes great and is at walmart. 30 grams per bottle. They come in chocolate,.vanilla, and strawberry. Another good protein source is Optisource- they have caramel and strawberry and they are both delicious very cold or on ice. 2. Also you may want to consider Isopure protein looks like kool-aid but has 40 grams per bottle. They come in many different flavors. If you are close to a GNC, you can sample the flavors. This must be cold to drink in my opinion 3. Powerade zero, different kinds to mix with the Isopure 4. an unflavored protein that you can mix with food like unjury, or GENEPRO 5. sugar free ice pops 6. chicken , beef, vegetable broth 7. Crystal light sugar free 8. SOBE Lifewater is zero calories, and sugar free and is delicious! They carry different flavors. Apple fuji Pear is my favorite. 9. No sugar added grape, or apple juice ( will need to dilute half and half Water. 10. Fairlife fat free milk, has lots of protein and low calories. 11. Different extracts or Sugar free Torani syrups to help with flavor if modifying a shake. My brain is dead at 3am, can't think of any more right now....anyone want to add -

protein intake and weight loss connection ! please advise
Dream4tc replied to Reem Ashraf's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The high protein helps with satiety , but also prevents the loss of muscle and helps burn the fat instead of muscle when combined with exercise. More muscle= more fat loss. More protein= less muscle loss. There are alternative protein options. Unjury or Genepro can be added to food or soups. Please try and get your protein in, it will help your weight loss much faster, gives you energy, and helps with hunger. -

Best Unflavored Protein Powders?
clasnic1 replied to kelseysleevedup's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I like GENEPRO myself...I can put it in anything and it doesn't have a flavor. I get it from Amazon. I purchased it about 9 months ago and I still have a half a bag. One Tablespoon equals 30 grams of Protein. -
I drink bottled Water. I find it easier to make sure I get it in and one 16.9 oz bottle isn't as daunting as a big gulp container. Four bottles and you have your daily goal met. As far as food goes, I eat fish and steamfresh vegetables mostly. I buy the cod fillets that are individually wrapped. After it is unthawed, I season it and saute it in olive oil or coconut oil. One bag of vegetables will last me the whole week. I have grilled steak once a week, grilled, baked or sauteed chicken also. I eat a serving of fresh fruit every day. On days that I exercise I have a GENEPRO Protein shake in the morning and I have an afternoon or evening snack of Fage yogurt with fruit. On days that I exercise (5-6 days a week), I have approximately 1,100 calories, 80 to 96 ounces of water and 90 to 100 grams of protein. I don't eat Protein Bars at all. I don't eat sugar free or fat free anything. I hope this helps as an example.

Sorry to hear your struggling so much. There are a lot of options on what to buy. After reading lots of posts and being in some FB support groups I have kinda went with the majority and I ordered UNJURY unflavored protein packets and PB2 powder. I ordered Genepro unflavored protein powered of of Amazon. I think I would like to try the Nectar stuff but I am going to wait a bit. All these products are so expensive. I have also been using Premier Protein that you can get from Sams Club or walmart. Its a much better deal at Sam's. Don't beat yourself up. Do what you can do and if you make a mistake, get back on track again as soon as possible. Hope you enjoy your holiday. Im going on a small get away the last weekend of August myself. Will be interesting camping/boating with a bunch of people and Im suppose to be only doing shakes and veggies! -

The truth about Genepro?
joatsaint replied to choosehope's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
This quote is from the Amazon sales page (the bold/underline is my edit) : "The combination of the Tri-Protein and the way it is processed along with the addition of protease enzymes, allows for the equivalent of a 30gram serving of protein with only a 1 TBSP serving size." http://www.amazon.com/Musclegen-Research-Genepro-Protein-Powder/dp/B00K6OSDYA -
I have seen some say Genepro is the way to go for unflavored protein, yet others say their nutritional claims are false. Anyone know what the real story is?
-
Genepro, unflavored, good stuff
-
Have you tried GENEPRO? I mix it with iced tea. It's not thick and it actually dissolves.
-
I still mix GENEPRO Protein into my coffee every morning for 30 G of protein and I am 9 months out. It's a good CYA just in case I don't get it in with all my food. I also don't like most of the protein shakes or bars. I do like the Powercrunch bars. Good luck- LA

Hello! I am 3 weeks post op tomorrow. I am having a very hard time with my multi-Vitamins and Protein. I bought some chewable citricale at CVS and it is so disgusting it makes me gag. I ordered some liquid Wellnese online - it came today and the taste is unbearable. Something has happened to my taste buds - things I could power through before are really impossible now. If I force myself to drink/chew it, I just throw it up. Also, am struggling with protein. I did the premiere shakes for pre-op and was able to tolerate them fine (didn't love them but got through it). Now, I cannot even look at them - seriously. Someone on here mentioned GENEPRO - i bought that and have been able to add to crystal light but it's still got a whey aftertaste and having to face tons of that every day has me really frustrated. I also bought some Syntrax Necter and it's just as bad as the others. Today, I bought some Carnation Instant and going to try that but it doesn't have as much protein so I am going to have to drink so much of it, if I can stand it. So, any help, suggestions, commiserating or encouragement is welcome. I spent most of today in tears. It just seems like this is never going to end - that everything I ever drink/eat is going to taste like whey protein. Tomorrow, I am supposed to start soft foods, but honestly, nothing sounds good at all. I thought I would be so excited to add new things. But it all just makes me nauseous. I stopped even having Soup 4 days ago because I couldn't stomach it. So, all I am really having is tons of crystal light whey drink. It's depressing.

I highly recommend everyone do their own research and judge for themselves about the claim of 30 grams of protein in one serving of Genepro. The claim is that you get the *equivalent* of 30 grams of protein because of their production process and how much of their protein is absorbed versus whey protein. But definitely read up on it and judge for yourself. Don't just take the claim at face value without doing your research.

I am 5 days post op and 1 thing before i forget, is I want to highly recommend the GENEPRO Protein flavorless. It gives you 30gms protein in one tablespoon, and I add it to clear broth, chicken, and does not change the flavor at all, and really helps to add to your protein intake for the day. I know people also like the Isopure, I think, but that is too much protein at once for me. Just a suggestion
