    Steady losers ;-)

NSV today: Co-worker: Are you getting skinny? Me: Trying! And now to TV... I love Rob and Amber, too, but sometimes feel like I'm in the minority! Yes, Joyce shaved her head in her season. She also went on to win with her husband, Uchenna. I think they are the only ones who have won on AS. I also hate that dating couple. What a crock. So many other deserving teams should be there over them!

    Getting Ready for Spring Bootcamp

Hey Tann! I am planning to follow it for 7 days but you know how things go. I have a conference Thursday and the only meats that will be at the dinner are bratwurst and barbecue pork. Not the best options. I wonder which one would be the best to eat? I signed up at lowcarbfriends.com yesterday. I got my approval e-mail this morning so when I get caught up here, I plan to hop over there and join the "Losing 100lbs. in 2007" thread. I need to check my calendar at home to double check my weight loss this year so far. I have a NSV to share! I went to the doctor this morning to get my blood drawn for blood work. (He took me off my cholesterol meds two months ago because my numbers where excellent!) Anyway, he took my blood pressure this morning and it was low! He said that he wanted me to cut my pill in half everyday and soon I would be off it completely!!! That is the only pill I am on and I look forward to having none. WOOHOO!!!

    Steady losers ;-)

Okay Mommas! Guess who's back? Yeah, me. I'm actually in the remote office today, but things are great. I am in "skinny" clothes - and i have a LOT of NSV's to share with you! So I went to Macy's on Saturday. They were having a HUGE sale. I spent close to $800. I bought clothes in size 14 and 16 (planning ahead). I got this dress - it's a Nine West black and white sundress. Size 14. The bitch fits! I didn't even try it on in the store - just bought it knowing that eventually it would slip over my bulbous body. It fits now. Form fitted in the bodice, and a full skirt. I think that is what I'm going to wear to the wedding in April. I also bought 4 blazers, 4 blouses, 2 skirts, 5 pairs of slacks and some other little things. All Jones New York label - I love that designer. I am still in search of navy slacks. My son's father has been a gem. He's been by once already, is coming today and tomorrow, and is coming back on Wednesday night to stay over so I can get up in the morning to be at work bright and early. He gets off work at like 4am, so he's coming right over after work, and i'll leave the house at 6 or so. The funny thing about him, I used to be so enamored with him - from head to toe (especially the middle parts). He has gained weight - about 30 pounds since the last time I saw him. He looks so meaty and paunchy, less attractive than ever before. The first time I saw that man my heart stopped. I feel free. FREE! And I feel fabulous. He saw me and said, "You look really great." Uh huh, thanks Tubby. ((HAHHA j/k) My friend and I have been on the phone constantly - either text messaging or talking late at night. He misses me, wants to see me, can't wait til I get home. Last night he told me that he could fall in love with me; I'm the kind of woman he's wanted to be with his whole life. He asked me if he makes my life better... He is the sweetest man. I asked if he wanted to come to FL for a few days this week, but ticket prices are too damn high. (over $600) It's all very exciting and overwhelming. I wonder how much of the attraction is for the sake of feeling loved, and how much is for the person. (Know what I mean?) We were on the phone until 2am this morning. He's going to the wedding in April with me. We're talking about coming to FL in September (Labor Day). We're talking about taking the kids on outings. I am not kidding; I was blindsided by this. Stay tuned, ladies. I've not exercised since last week - I feel like a tubby little tuna. I went to Bariatric Eating and spent money I didn't have on things I didn't need. That Micellar Milk is DELICIOUS! I'm going to order it when I get home. I also want some of those sugar free syrups to put in my coffee, etc. I bought cheese crackers (which are delicious with hummus), snack bars (some are wafer bars and are frickin delicious!) and the Nectars. Tonight I need to hoist the jelly on the stairmaster or on the treadmill and work it out for an hour. I feel light enough to run. I need to be two-forty-something when I get back home. I feel so disconnected from you guys lately - I have been reading but not posting personals. With each passing day I feel more and more like myself - my old me. Slender, confident, beautiful (except my crazy poofy afro hair) and desireable. Glad to hear everyone is doing great! Steph put that scale away until the P-Rot is gone. BBK - glad you're still a free woman! Screw that judge, hateful little shriveled up dork. bk - how you doing, girl? Sassy - Yes, I feel that way too - gorgeous one day, jabba the hut the next. VAB - Sorry about the snow. (HA!) It's 80 degrees here. Not much else going on. I am smiling for no reason... I can't wait to get home. My friend said he would meet me at the airport to help with our bags, then he's coming over to visit for a while - dinner, etc. He has his son this weekend, so the kids are going to play together while we catch up. (ahem) Life is good. Nathalie

    April 2006 Bandits' February Challenge

Hi everyone! Bluehill I am so glad you are out of the hospital! I hope all goes well. Kat how is your granddaughter? Julie- it sounds like St. Barts was great. I think you are brave for considering the PS. I am not sure I will ever go there... I do not like surgery and am a bad patient!! Sarah, welcome to our group. Yep... just start the exercise slowly. I did in house weights for a month, then I progressed to aerobics, and then to walking/ running. When I began running it was run 1 minute, walk 3 minutes... from there I moved on. So... I have been in montreal for most of last week. I am working with a new consultant (on creating ministry of education exit exam), who I only just met and she is a runner!!! Yipee we had lots to talk about (including my $400 trip to the runnin room- ouch!!) So I finally bit the bullet and registered for my first 5 k. It is March 25th in Montreal. I am hoping I can get my time down to 40 minutes (it seems to be hovering about 43 right now...) But I can run it all without a break and feel good doing it. As well, I was happy because the scale is still moving. Check it out!! Oh... huge NSV... I went shopping and bought a new sweater and pants at THE GAP... no more plus size stores!!!! As well I bought a new bathing suit at Bikini Village... how wierd is all of that!! I hope you guys have a good week. I am staying home today with my kids (I was away for work all weekend). So I am just going to enjoy them today!! Thanks, Dawn Banded April 4, 2006 Montreal 358/ 196/179 (I bet I will want it to be lower) Exercise sessions this month=18 sessions (I hope to get it to 20)

    June 2006 Band Crew

Cindy- I guess I would need to know more detail on "eating healthy and working out". Are you logging calories? My ex-personal trainer used to have me do 3 days at a lower calorie count and one day at a bit higher calorie count, so the body doesn't slow down to adjust to the lower calorie intake. So maybe do 800 calories for 3 days, 1200 calories one day and back to 800 for 3 days, etc. As far as working out, also try to mix up your routine. If you do 30 minutes on the treadmill every other day, try to alternate between bike and treadmill and elliptical to work some different muscles. Also, as I always say, take measurements! Sometimes the scale doesn't move, but you've lost an inch somewhere because muscle weighs more than fat! Lastly, relax! You have come a long way! Enjoy the NSVs and your body will eventually let go of those stubborn pounds. Best of luck and keep in touch with us!

Too funny, Libra...I am wearing a pair of comfy jammies that I've had before surgery and I'm hanging on to them until they fall off too! It's a little goal I've set for myself. They're size 28 and they look terrible on me but my belly still keeps them up enough to wear. Hopefully they won't be around for next Winter! Molly, you are just doing so great. I'm so glad to see you with so much motivation. You are just going to rock this year, I can feel it! As far as an NSV...I actually bought two outfits from Walmart yesterday from the "normal" section. They're size 16 shirts and skirts for work. They fit on me but I also had to spend $20 on supportive granny panties so that I don't look like the Michelin Man when I wear them to work!!! I knew I could fit 16W's and never realized there was 16W in the plus section then regular 16's in the "normal" section. I am just barely in the "normal" 16's. I'm a dork-I've NEVER shopped in this section so I don't even know what that size is called. All I've realized is that there's no "W" afterward!! It felt so ackward...I thought some alarm might go off with an announcement..."There's an intruder in the normal section...she doesn't belong there...get her!" But, no such announcement and I made it through just fine!!

An odd, but interesting NSV for me-- GYN appointments, as we ladies know, involve a lot of pressing and probing by the doctor. This year's visit, with my 52 lb loss, went faster and easier than I ever recall. My doctor said my half-filled/deflated breasts and tummy make his job of feeling for lumps and bumps much easier. Wonder how the annual mammogram will go.

Ooh I have an NSV I forgot about. Last night I noticed my wedding ring was getting really loose, so I went to show my husband how shaking my hand would make it fall off and well, it went flying onto a corner of the room where I have lots of paperwork stacked and baskets full of projects lol. It took me almost 20minutes of digging through stuff to find it at the very bottom of one of my baskets (that last one too, hehe) I guess I was shaking my hand a little too vigorously

My NSV, happen today at a friends house, where we were attending an anniversary dinner. I was talking to the fiance of my best friends son, I had just met her last week. We were sat next to each other, and I moved my tea away, so I wouldn't unthinkingly pick it up to drink--she looked at me kinda funny so I told her, I couldn't drink when I ate, so she ask why and I told her I had the band. She was surprised, she told me "I can't imagine you being fat" then she tripped all over herself trying to make that not sound mean...I was just thrilled, I still FEEL fat, and while I know I have lost a lot of weight, I thought everyone still saw me as fat, just less fat. Told my friends son, to hang on to her---she made my day!!! Kat

My biggest NSV to date is needing to buy new jeans and realizing that I had dropped several sizes! I knew I needed new ones but I was amazed at how much smaller they were. Another, how nice it is to be able to stand for long periods of time and not be tired. What a nice feeling!
  11. ...lucky me... Got into a previously tight bathing suit and it felt loose, how often does that happen? And took my kids to a family dance at the school last night and was sitting in a chair, looked down at my thighs and thought, "Whose long thin thigh is that?" Honestly, didn't recognize my own thigh, or at least hadn't really looked at them in a while. Yes, the banded life is good. How about you? You had any NSV moments lately? Do share.

I feel fantastic this morning and was thinking about all the positive changes that losing weight brings about! There have been so many "Wow!" moments, but my biggest NSV is a little silly actually.... Being able to wear heels all day without my back, legs, and feet killing me! What is the biggest NSV you have had?

I am glad someone asked what NSV meant! I have lots to learn. That is great, sometimes better than the scale itself, good for you.

Hey Sunta - awesome nsv - please keep us posted on how you are doing - I'm about 15 months out and have started occassionally having some pain in the port - a few times it felt extra hard and seemed to be sticking out more - a few times it was kinda burning...thinking it is passing thing but of course wondering too - It's certainly not from my losing weight - ha whereas I see you've lost quite a bit (congrats) - maybe it is closer to the surface on you now? Who knows - just hoping all is ok with you.
