So...I tried on jeans 2 weeks ago, and found that I was down from a size 26 to a size 22. I had a couple old pairs of size 24's, so I decided to order some size 20's, and just wear the baggy 24's until I could get into the new 20's. Well....those new 20's arrived today....AND THEY FIT!!! I don't just mean I could manage to get them zipped...I mean I could breathe and sit in them!! They look amazing! Its been more than 15 years since I could fit into a pair of size 20 pants...and, so help me G-d, I will NEVER see anything larger EVER AGAIN!!! WOOHOO!!

How has VSG Affected your Marriage?
notmeanymore replied to GBFree82's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My marriage is even stronger now. We had a tight marriage before but instead of my hubby worrying about my health now, we get to concentrate on being more active, celebrating the nsv's, he loves when I put on fashion shows for him with my new clothes and he especially loves all the extra 'bedroom attention' if you get my drift. My hubby had lost 70+ pounds on his own about 8 years ago and has kept it off so he can empathize with my joys of losing the weight and is so happy for me. We are like newlyweds again -
Wow. Sounds like it all happened so fast. That is an amazing NSV.

The two things I have learned recently...
valvinnek replied to coolcrystal's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hey Crystal, whats shakin? Ok, we have 2 scales, they are 4 pounds apart. Depending on what the fat scale tells me, then I go on the skinny scale, like if I had a bad day before or around my TOM. Then I go to the doctor and they say to go by thier scale. I don't know if the doctors scale is closer to the fat scale or skinny scale at home, I'm going to have to pay closer attention next time. But all I do know is that I have been doing the eliptical and now I have definition in my calves so I am getting those NSVs!!! -
Help us newbies with the lingo. I've figured out a few abbreviations please add to the list. NUT: nutritionist NSV: non scale victory PCOS: poly cystic ovarian syndrome

Just thought I would share this little bit of excitment! I have set myself little mini goals along my weight loss journey, things that will keep me motivated... and swimming is on the list. I am now under 14 stone (194) so my next little goal was to go swimming. Just over two years ago I started taking the kids swimming with my husband; I even bought a new swimming costume ( unfortunately itwas too small for me!!!! but I kept it anyway) ... I went a several times and each time I would start to get little panic attacks! I would get sweats, palpitations, and need the toilet!!! I thought that this reaction completely outweighed the benefit of the exercise and I stopped going. So, yesterday, my son asked when we were going to go swimming again. I tried the swimming costume on and it was a perfect fit... and ok, there is still plenty of weight to come off, but I have to say, it didn't look as bad as I expected! To cut a long story short... I put the costume on and kept it on and took the kids swimming. It was amazing to be back in the pool with them and my husband! We had a lovely time and I managed to get some really good exercise out of it too! These little NSV are sooooo important to me!

Patterba replied to Patterba's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
That is a great NSV!! you must feel wonderful being 62 lbs. down.. I can weight till I get there.. down 29 so far, and I am having "jeans slipping off my ass" drama..lol. -
I had just finished shopping at Walmart and was heading out the door. As I approached the older greeter, I noticed he was talking to some guy. I could hear what they were saying. The guy talking to the greeter started staring at me, and as I walked by, his head followed me. He was saying, "I should work here, so I can check out all of the good-looking women." It was very cheesy, and I was not interested in any way shape or form, but I thought it was hilarious, and I loved the attention. I am now turning heads of strangers! It has been a while since that happened.

NSV- Size Extra Small!
Healthy_life2 replied to AvaFern's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
what an amazing thing to go in and find out you are in fact a size XS. I had just posted the same NSV right after you:). Congrats on all the work you put in. -
Haha! I've been in the SCA since I was 17, but I never got into the fighting. I am more of an A&S and Dancing type girl. I am looking forward to being able to do a graceful Volta again without killing my partner on the lifts. LLOL I also play a LARP (Kanar) here in MI, and am already finding that it is easier to run frantically through the woods in a huge dress than it was pre op. It's funny how these little NSVs bring mre joy to activities we love. Fellow weightloss nerds unite!

Out 12 Days....,,frustrated!
Ms skinniness replied to Kthump's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Can't wait until you have the realization that your pants have gotten way too big the afternoon you put them on! That's an NSV to have. I remember having my pants be a great fit in the am and the pm, they were sagging on my body. They weren't stretch pants either. It was a time when my body was readjusting in inches. At that time I wasn't weighing myself on a daily basis, just every few weeks. Now I weigh myself daily and it drives me crazy. Need to stop weighing. -
Today NSV, the fact that my boobs once again stick out further than my stomach. Woohoo!

I had what I consider my first NSV, I have only been banded 8 days, I lost 10 lbs prior to surgery and I have lost 14 lbs since being banded, so that is 24 lbs from my 1st 100 lbs I need to lose. I am a High Weight High BMI patient. My Highest weight was 576 and My Surgery weight was 566 and My Current weight is 552. I am doing it in small goals of 100, but the best part which is the NSV part is I thought I would have to wait awhile after surgery to be taken completely off my Type 2 Diabetes meds and well I am officially off them and for the first time in a year my sugars are normal, like really normal. I cant believe it, I am so happy. To me that is a NSV because it was one of the reasons I had the surgery was to help get my sugars under control as well as my weight. I am testing my sugar 4 times a day right now to make sure they stay in the normal range but so far they are averaging about 110 with food and alittle lower fasting. Just wanted to share my GOOD news!
