I love everyone’s victories. I’m fitting clothes I haven’t worn in years. My watch is loose. I look about 10 years younger. And my neck isn’t as thick as it was. My necklace is laying as it should. I can cross my legs now...both directions. I’m waiting for my feet to shrink to get my shoe obsession going again. My poor husband. 🤣

Mine was on 10/11 and my taste buds are now coming back. Think it was anesthesia for me.

I'm reading your story and I will be going alone as well. My surgery is in 10 days. It seems as if I have nothing to fear and that I'm in good hands. This really makes me feel at ease. I'm looking at your weight loss results so far and you are doing wonderful. Keep it up!

My RNY is scheduled for 10/16/18.

My husband does not support me at all. It's very frustrating. I am very emotional about that fact that he continues to tell me every day (since a week ago) that I am not going to have the surgery even though it's in 10 days and I've already paid money for my surgery date slot. Every day my response to him is that I am going to do it. One thing I know is that I am ready for it even though it's risky, but I'm more sad that I don't have support. I'm not scared because the numerous success stories I've read so far keeps me excited for my future weight loss. But then I get sad again because I'm going to have the surgery alone. I'm sure I'll find surgery buddies to talk to and bond with.

Have been tracked by a professional bariatric surgery medical team for almost a year. Doctor says I am not ready for surgery as I have lost less than 10 pounds and struggling with dietary compliance. I respect his advice but am looking for that extra push to get moving forward. Any positive advice appreciated.

I had my surgery 10/3/18 it’s been about a week and few days I don’t know if it’s working for me or not. Can I have a stall in the beginning? Trying not to regret it. HWR (335) pre surgery (324) today anywhere from 316 give or take my scale changes everything I move it so I can’t trust it no more. Any advice is gratefully appreciated.

I’m , Confused and frustrated because I had my surgery 10/3/17 and according to my scale I only lost 8lbs supposedly I move my scale like 5 times and it changed 5 times I believe I should have lost more then that by more I barely intake much. Can my body be retaining water ? Or can I be at a stall already? I don’t know what to do and my my two week appointment is 10/17/18 . Has this happen to anybody else ?

I had surgery 3 days ago, 10/10/18 and I'm on this clear liquid diet which I'm struggling with. Can I start full liquids early?

You got this! My surgery was done 10/9 in an out patient center. I had my daughter and brother to help me.... I was out of it and sore... fortunately no gas and minimal nausea, but I took the nausea meds and suppository as scheduled because I did not want to be nauseous 🤢everyday gets better! I am still feeling fatigued but doc says it takes days for anesthesia to leave system... today is 4 days out and I feel human.... I was afraid as they prepped me and thought of backing out... then I realized I was letting fear try to hold me back... you have to do something different to get different! Best of Luck!

Amy’s soups are nice, I’m near end of my liquid phase and still can’t keep my 4oz warm past 10 mins. I don’t have a mug warmer so I’m eating cold food and that turns me off what I’m eating. Guess I will be eating cold food for a while

I’m 53, had my sleeve done on 10/5. Mine hurts if I swallow to much at one time...tiny sips only and water level seems to not go down. Keep going, your pouch will get used to it and stop hurting!

@skinnylife I am pretty sure that @johnsons13 means 500 calories in her diet now, 6 months post surgery. I’d be struggling with that too! @johnsons13 do check with your surgeon. My surgeon tracks all his patients’ eating and in general the vast majority are 800-1000 12 to 18 months after surgery - 800 gives you room for some great food choices. I too had an unhealthy relationship with food. I didn’t eat for hunger, but for stress, anxiety, loneliness, habit. I ate rubbish till stuffed. I ate when I wasn’t enjoying the taste any more. Now I eat tasty. Healthy. I have used the 10 months since surgery to fight so hard to change my habits - but only because I saw a elative lose loads of weight post a bypass - and then put it all back on by eating the same as before. I an so so stoked to be smaller, it really helps motivate me to stay on track. Most days! I have bad days too but they are fewer than they were. One thought. Do you track your food? An app like Myfitnesspal (and there are others) is a great way to log your weight each day, and your food intake. You can seriously stay on top of the food choices, see the effect they have. You can chat with others in the communities like baribabes. You can get great tips on eating options there and here in bariatricpal. One thing - change your eating and your tastes change. I still want to eat when I am stressed but get comfort from watermelon now (who’d’ve thought!!!) instead of chocolate and crisps! But it does take a bit of time, any sticking to your eating plan more and more consistently...

How are you feeling? When did you have the lapband done? I had my lap band surgery in 2009. Revision is schedule for 10/19. Just slight nervous & pray it's done in one procedure

Wanting to see if anyone is experiencing what I am. I was sleeved on 10/1. My surgery was more involved as I had a large hiatal hernia that needed to be repaired and lots of scar tissue to be removed from previous lapband. All of that was unexpected. I am not in pain, sometimes uncomfortable but I am absolutely sick to my stomach. I am so nauseous all of the time and lightheaded. I am not getting as much in as I should but trying. I want to feel good. I wake up feeling ok and as soon as my feet hit the floor I want to puke! Anyone experiencing this.

I'm wondering the same thing. I had surgery 10/10 (Wednesday) and supposed to start working from home for a week on Monday. I have a desk job but as of day 3 post op I'm not sure if Monday is going to work for me 😬

Thank you all for your well wishes. I missed it and my heart is broken... I have been admitted at a bariatric hospital. I have suffered so much. I was on my way to pick up my kids from school in the pouring rain (the 30 min ride was over an hour due to an accident), and I was on the freeway stopping every 10-20 minutes on the side to throw up. At one point in time my heart was palpitating and my fingers and toes started to go numb so I pulled over at a gas station and my husband who was over an hour away from me dialed 911 for an ambulance to come . They showed up with the Fire department and run an EKG to make sure I was not having a heart attack, my heart was racing and I continue to feel like I had an elephant sitting on my chestFire department and run an EKG to make sure I was not having a heart attack, my heart was racing and I continue to feel like I had an elephant sitting on my chest. I told them I needed to get to a place that handles Bariatric’s, But they refused to transport me all the way to Dallas where my doctor is private surgical center, as that would have been two hour ride in rush hour traffic, so I refuse to go with them to a local emergency room as I knew that they would not really know what to do with me and judging from my experience at the ER the previous day they would just try to control the nausea and let me go even though the strongest medicine they have, promethazine has not been controlling my vomiting.i also knew the wait there would be hours and hours as I would be triaged with trauma patients. My husband picked the kids and they met me in the gas station and I watch my eight-year-old son well up with tears streaming down his face when he realized mommy will not be making the mother son dance that he has been waiting for over a year )missed last year’s one due to being out of the country, and this year I promised him come whatever, I’ll be there! I even rescheduled my work trip out of county to be there (scheduled to leave this Thursday and I just don’t know how I can go...). My heart just broke and I felt like I had failed him as A mom, and even then, the crazy side of me tried to tell him it will be OK and we will still go but then I proceeded to violently vomit in front of my kids and realized it’s just not gonna happen . I had my husband stay with the kids and I still drove myself to the hospital in Dallas. Because him driving me would mean bringing along the kids for a long night and what is the point in that. I drove through the rain vomiting most of the way by the time I made it here I was vomiting every 10 minutes. Exhausted, my esophagus burning, felt like a giant grapefruit was stuck in it. They started an IV and gave me some nausea meds which did not work and I just keep throwing up spit and bile. Morning can’t come soon enough so my surgeon will come and probably scope me. sorry for long post... got nothing but suffering and time here. But I thank God he’s kept me alive, so please pray they fix me soon... I am so sorry! Sending you comfort, healing, and peace.

I'm currently on the liver shrink diet, but its not full liquid. My surgery is on 10/19. The day before surgery I have to do full liquid only.

My surgery date is 10/29 also. I start a liquid diet Monday. I'm starting to get nervous... My surgeon keeps patients for 2 nights, and sometimes 3 depending on activity, pain management, and reaction to liquid diet.
